"Tenya" izakaya in Kurume. I felt like eating Kurume gyoza. The one-bite gyoza is a signature menu item. The unique feature of Kurume gyoza is its bite-size. When it comes to one-bite gyoza, I personally think of Gion's gyoza, but to be honest, I've never found it to be particularly delicious. Oh? It might be good. The crispy sear on the outside and the moist, tender inside make it more like shumai than gyoza. This texture is really good. The filling has a well-balanced mix of vegetables and ground meat, not too greasy. Exquisite. Potato salad is a must-order at izakayas. As you can see, the eggs have a significant presence. And bacon too. The potatoes are relatively intact, and the mayonnaise is just right. It's not too fatty or sour, but it brings everything together nicely. Textbook perfect. The tantanmen is soupless. It's delicious. The noodles are slightly chewy but pretty normal. The seasoning is strong, with a good kick of Sichuan pepper in this spicy and numbing type. The acidity is also quite pronounced. The ground meat is quite large for tantanmen. It was delicious. With so many other enticing menu items, I have no choice but to revisit. I found a great restaurant in Kurume.

I love it. I order and eat it even when I'm full. I especially like the soupless tantanmen. Come to think of it, isn't soupless tantanmen the true tantanmen? Hmm... I pondered over it for a while, then went home and reread "Oishinbo". Anyway, it's delicious. The empty heart vegetable, dumplings, shumai... it feels like a different country here. I want to try the hot pot someday...

I visited the number one gyoza restaurant on the gyoza ranking list and it was crowded inside, so I had to wait outside. I got some gyoza to take away and tried a few on the spot. They were incredibly delicious! Unlike Fukuoka's one-bite gyoza, these had a strong flavor. Even when I tried them cold later at the hotel, they were still delicious. It's located within a 10-minute walk from Nishitetsu Kurume station. Kurume is a cool place where people eat gyoza quickly and leave, which I found impressive. This place is more like a gyoza izakaya than just a gyoza restaurant, with a variety of other menu items available, and everyone seemed to be having a great time.

I visited a nearby yakitori restaurant without a reservation after 8 pm, but it was full. They told me it would be open around 9 pm, so I waited at a nearby standing bar and got a call before 9 pm to come in. I had grilled dumplings, boiled dumplings, chicken wings, and wagyu beef tripe sashimi. Everything was delicious and worth the price. The grilled dumplings had a crispy thin skin, perfect with a highball. The boiled dumplings were smooth and tasty. The wagyu beef tripe sashimi was a bit too sweet with sweet bean sauce, I would have preferred vinegar miso or sesame oil. I forgot to take some photos as I got a bit drunk, but it was a lovely restaurant. Since it's a small place, I recommend making a reservation.

Delicious. I love it anytime, any season. Grilled dishes, boiled dishes, choy sum, fried cod, spare ribs... It's just so delicious, there's nothing better. It wraps you up in happiness. Even though they're always busy, it's amazing. Each dish has a special spice that makes it addictive. Everyone must feel the same. I love it.

Delicious. Both the fried and steamed dumplings, as well as the steamed pork tongue, were all amazing. I forgot to take a picture, but the shumai was also great. It's truly a blessing to have this kind of authentic Chinese cuisine in Kurume. You don't even have to go to Taiwan to get the real deal. Is it possible for all the dishes to be so perfect? I'm completely captivated. I went wearing a ramen shop's t-shirt, and they even made a joke about the t-shirt, which really won me over. The best.

I casually stopped by for a second round and had "one-bite grilled dumplings" and "shrimp shumai." Even though I was already full, I devoured them easily. I fell in love with the bite-sized dumplings, but when I met the monster called shrimp shumai, my wandering heart led me astray. However, I eventually returned to the dumplings. No, both are amazing. Only in Taiwan can you experience this. It brings back memories of my trip to Taiwan. Stir-fried hollow heart vegetable is Taiwan itself. Unbelievable. Thank you, Taiwan, even in Kurume.

I visited a small dumpling shop in Rokumon, Kurume City. It's a popular spot for Kurume dumplings. I usually go without a reservation, but this time I was lucky to get in. The dumplings were cheap and delicious. Today was my second stop, so I kept it light. - One-bite dumplings (495 yen): This is their specialty. Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. They may be small, but they are packed with meat. - Boiled dumplings (495 yen): Chewy and filling. These were also quite good. The special sauce had a strong aroma of seasoning and spices, which may not be to everyone's liking. I personally found it a bit too much. It gives off an authentic vibe. I didn't try the chicken wings this time, but they are also delicious. Thank you for the meal.

It is a popular gyoza restaurant specializing in various Kyushu-style dishes and Chinese-inspired cuisine, as well as dishes using Wagyu beef offal. The menu is diverse, making it a great place to enjoy as an izakaya. It was very crowded, so making a reservation is recommended. I ordered the bite-sized gyoza (495 yen), boiled gyoza (495 yen), and a highball (550 yen). While waiting for the gyoza, I enjoyed the highball with the appetizer (220 yen). The bite-sized gyoza had a thin and smooth skin like wonton, with a finely textured and soft filling. The crispy texture and refreshing vegetable flavor of the filling, along with the light skin, made it easy to eat without getting tired. The boiled gyoza had a unique feature of a tangy Chinese-style sauce with a shrimp-like flavor and spiciness that complemented each other well. Both the grilled and boiled gyoza were not particularly unique, but they showcased the restaurant's solid technique and sense of high-quality gyoza.

I decided to have a light drink before heading home. I decided to try "Hitokuchi Gyoza Tenya," a place where I had been turned away before because they were already fully booked. This time, I took a chance and visited the restaurant. I arrived at 6:50 PM and there were already customers enjoying themselves at the two outdoor tables. I entered the restaurant with a sense of uncertainty. Inside, there were four-person tables, two raised seating areas, and a counter with about six seats. The place was already packed and lively. When I mentioned that I was alone, I was directed to a seat at the counter. I ordered a draft beer and two dishes. I was served a small appetizer of bean sprout namul with my beer. I enjoyed the dishes I ordered: stir-fried bok choy with a flavorful soy sauce and the signature bite-sized gyoza. I also tried a spiced shochu cocktail with cardamom liqueur, which was surprisingly good. The restaurant was bustling with customers, so the service was a bit slow. After enjoying my meal, I paid 2,354 yen. Overall, it was a satisfying experience.

I visited this gyoza restaurant that was recommended in a local magazine in Kurume. After opening, customers started coming in one after another, and the seats filled up quickly! It truly is a popular place. The gyoza was delicious, as well as all the other dishes! Unfortunately, on the day I visited (Sunday), they were not serving dishes like raw horse meat sashimi or fresh raw sea urchin sashimi, perhaps because the market was closed. I would like to try again next time.

Arrived at "大砲ラーメン本店" around 6 pm. Visited with a friend. The restaurant was fully booked but they said they would call if a table opened up. Gave them our phone number and walked around until we got a call at 7 pm. The restaurant had the owner and two female staff members. The menu had a variety of options, but the sashimi dishes were sold out that day. The complimentary dish was bean sprout namul, which was delicious with a rich broth. We had already eaten ramen, so we ordered a few dishes. We got the bite-sized gyoza (7 pieces for 495 yen) which were juicy and flavorful. The cabbage tsukemono (363 yen) was like a light pickle, even for someone like me who doesn't like pickles. The fried rice (473 yen) had a good portion size and a unique taste with a strong ginger flavor. Overall, we were satisfied with the delicious food. The total bill came to 2500 yen per person. I wish we could have tried more dishes... maybe next time.

It's been 4-5 years since my last visit to this small dumpling shop in a retro alleyway. The appetizer was bean sprout namul. The pan-fried dumplings were filled with minced meat, chives, and cabbage, with a crispy outer layer that was delicious on its own. The soy sauce-based fried chicken wings were tasty. The garlic-packed stir-fried Chinese broccoli was also a hit. This place is affordable and offers a variety of dishes besides dumplings, making it convenient for a light meal or drinks. The gyoza here is delicious! I've eaten gyoza in Utsunomiya and Hamamatsu, but it's rare to find a shop that serves one-bite gyoza like this! There are a lot of vegetables in it, and once you take a bite, you'll want to eat more. The taste is addictive! It's really delicious, so I highly recommend this shop! When I come back to Kurume, I definitely have to visit this shop again! It was really crowded because Gohyakuman was temporarily closed until May 2, but the food was so good! Thank you for the meal!

"I love Ailavutenya. I already know it's delicious. And on top of that, there is an added joy of deliciousness. The white-cut chicken with its tender thigh meat has an excellent combination with ginger and green onions. The best. And the MVP this time is the soupless tantanmen. I would go just to eat this. It's been a while since I visited and reviewed this place! The dumplings are delicious, but the other dishes like simmered tripe and fried cartilage are also amazing. Everything I tried with their unique spices was delicious! The wine selected by the owner was also good, and my wife was very pleased! I visited twice in a short period.
