Night cafe & pancakes. Recently, in a photo magazine, voice actor Takahiro Sakurai's marriage was reported. For fans, it feels like "what's the big deal" but... Although it hasn't been publicly announced, it has been an open secret for a long time that Sakurai is married, so fans were already aware. It's impressive how there was no backlash at all. However, it seems like the reporters have been following Sakurai closely. Nowadays, voice actors have to be prepared for weekly magazines. It's tough. Sakurai's response to the reporters was mature, stating that he is indeed married but it doesn't affect his acting career, so he won't be making any public statements about it in the future. His agency also quickly released a supporting statement, showing that they are in sync with the wishes of their voice actors. Well, the president is close friends with Suzumura after all. However, according to the magazine, Sakurai lives in a house worth over a billion yen... Sakurai doesn't do any singing activities, so most of his earnings are likely from his acting work. In the past, it was said that voice actors couldn't make much money, but it seems like a dream situation now. Similarly, the epitome of dreamy food, pancakes (a bit forced). Most specialty stores close around evening, making it difficult to visit after work. However, "Meringue Shibuya" is a rare cafe where you can enjoy pancakes until 10:00 pm. This Hawaiian cafe chain has multiple locations in Tokyo, Saitama, Kanagawa, etc., and I have visited the Kawaguchi store once. Being located in Shibuya, where these types of stores are often found in commercial facilities, this street-side store is quite large and has a laid-back Hawaiian atmosphere, which is important. Street-side stores are a big plus for me. They also have terrace seating and palm trees outside the store. The interior is L-shaped with tables for two and large groups. Near the entrance, the store's equipment was casually placed, but the menu offers a wide range of options. I went for the pancakes, but they also have a variety of meals from burgers to loco moco and pasta. For those looking for a hearty meal or just pancakes, the menu caters to both. Here's what I had: - Ripe apple mango and coconut ice cream pancake: A limited-time offering with beautifully shaped mango slices. The pancakes were fluffy and melt-in-your-mouth, topped with mango sauce and coconut ice cream inside. The juicy sweetness of the mango and refreshing coconut were delightful. - Blueberry pancake: Another visually appealing dish with blueberry sauce and yogurt sauce on top of three pancakes. The burst of blueberries and the yogurt in the pancakes created a smooth and flavorful taste. Adding lemon halfway through provided a refreshing twist. I haven't had pancakes from Meringue in a while! Next time, I want to try their strawberry pancakes they offer in winter. Thank you for the meal!
