There are 3 branches of "Tokyo Pure Tofu" in Shinjuku alone. This restaurant is located right near subway exit A5, across the street from Isetan and Muji in the basement of the 2nd Takano Building, making it a very easy-to-find location. On a weekday at exactly 5:00 PM before watching a movie, my friend and I stopped by for an early dinner. They kindly allowed us to order from the lunch menu until 5:00 PM, how considerate! [Order Details] Starting with side dishes: ★ Tofu Salad 290 yen ★ Bean Salad 240 yen ★ Cheese Tteokbokki 530 yen ★ Mini Jeon 150 yen For the main dish, I ordered: ★ Pork Kimchi Sundubu 1,180 yen 389kcal Soup was salty, spiciness level was 2 (medium), rice portion was normal. Topping was Korean seaweed for 100 yen. My friend ordered: ★ Pork and Mushroom Sundubu 1,180 yen 391kcal Soup was miso flavored, spiciness level was 2, rice portion was normal. Topping was potatoes for 100 yen. ✅ You can choose from 3 types of soup: salty, miso, and white soup. ✅ Spiciness levels range from 1 to 6. ✅ Rice portion options are small, normal, or large. ✅ Various toppings are available. The set includes 3 types of namul and almond tofu for dessert. The menu offers a wide variety, with seafood and meat options to suit your taste. You crack the raw egg on top and mix it into the soup while eating. The soup not only has spiciness but also a rich umami flavor, truly delicious. The restaurant is not very spacious, more like a regular eatery. There were many female solo diners, making it a comfortable place to leisurely enjoy Sundubu. The waitress was very friendly, efficiently bringing us plates and spoons for sharing, providing kind service. Sundubu is a Korean tofu-based hot pot dish known for being "high protein" and "low calorie," said to be healthy and good for beauty. The taste is said to be adjusted for Japanese preferences, so it may differ from authentic Korean Sundubu, but this one is truly delicious. I am always impressed every time I eat it. Thank you for the meal.
