Right near the Hankyu Oyamacho exit. It was just before lunchtime, but it wasn't crowded. I wanted to try the "Grated yam and soft-boiled egg on top" as shown on the poster, but I couldn't figure it out on the ticket machine. Even though it was listed as "Minced meat miso demon grated on top", it didn't indicate that it was the same as the (cold) grated yam and soft-boiled egg! I got the large size, so the portion was sufficient. The taste was average, as expected from the contents.

I wanted to have a quick lunch, so it was convenient to have a shop before the ticket gate. It was hot today, so I ordered cold udon! It wasn't enough, so I also ordered onigiri! The udon had a firm texture similar to frozen udon, and the dipping sauce was a bit too soy sauce spicy for my liking. It was unusual that they provided grated ginger and wasabi as condiments. The onigiri was small but delicious. The only downside was that the staff were chatting and laughing loudly with each other, which was a bit off-putting. Well, it's nice to see them enjoying their work, but... If it weren't for that, I would have rated it 3 stars or higher, but I'm tough in my evaluations, so because of this incident, I'm deducting one point from my 3.3-star rating! Thank you for the meal.

This is the Wakana Soba restaurant located at the Hankyu Chayamachi entrance in Osaka City. I ordered the plain udon. It was really delicious! It was an ideal and delicious "Kansai udon". Thank you for the meal. It was simply delicious. Haha.

I visited a soba and udon restaurant called "Wakana Soba Hankyu Chayamachi-guchi Branch" located near the Osaka Umeda Station on a certain day in February 2023, around 3 PM. The restaurant was not very spacious, with about 3 customers already inside. Since I had lunch early that day, I decided to stop by to satisfy my hunger before dinner. I chose the "Wakame Soba" for ¥370 from the ticket machine. I presented my ticket at the order counter and received my meal after a short 2-minute wait. I sat at the counter alone and enjoyed the soba topped with plenty of wakame seaweed and green onions. The broth had a gentle flavor with a strong dashi taste, different from the soy sauce-based broth in Kanto-style soba, reflecting the Osaka style. The wakame was nothing special, but that was just fine. I enjoyed the Kansai-style soba with ordinary wakame and green onions. The tempura flakes on the table were self-serve, and I added an appropriate amount along with shichimi pepper for extra flavor. The combination of the wakame soba with added spice and richness was also delightful. The portion was just right to satisfy my hunger. After finishing the noodles and toppings, I savored the broth deeply, feeling the taste of Osaka. I was surprised by the affordability of the meal. I left the restaurant feeling grateful for being able to enjoy soba or udon for 400 yen right after exiting the station gates.

This is a soba restaurant near the Hankyu Chayamachi ticket gate. I decided to eat something soft after visiting the dentist, so I came to this restaurant. Upon entering, I first purchased a meal ticket from the machine. I chose the tempura udon for 380 yen. After purchasing the meal ticket, I was given a number tag and waited at my seat until my number was called. The finished dish looked like the photo, with tempura-like toppings on the udon. I sprinkled plenty of shichimi spice and tried it. The noodles were soft and easy on the teeth, which was perfect after a visit to the dentist. The broth was delicious as well. Overall, it was a good quick lunch option when in a hurry. Thank you for the meal.

Arrived in Osaka in the early morning. Had a light meal of soba noodles for breakfast. Went to Wakana Soba, a common spot at Hankyu Railway station. It was nice to find a kake soba (soba noodles in broth) for 290 yen right in the heart of Umeda. Even though it was kake soba, I was happy to see some seaweed in it. The flavor of the soba noodles was decent, but I wish the broth had a more Kansai-style flavor to it.

I visited the restaurant "Wakana Soba Hankyu Chayamachi-guchi" for dinner that day. I didn't even realize that it had changed to "Wakana Soba" in 2020. When I searched for Hankyu soba, Wakana Soba's website actually came up. Anyway, this is an udon restaurant that is familiar at Hankyu stations. There are two branches at Hankyu Umeda Station, both inside the ticket gates, and this one is located on the north side at Chayamachi-guchi. I purchased "Kasu Udon 620 yen (tax included)" from the ticket machine inside the restaurant. The kasu udon here comes with chopped tempura and tenkasu already in it. The dashi at Wakana Soba seems a bit darker, and it goes well with both udon and soba. These kinds of Ekimae udon restaurants are a must for my Osaka udon trend, as they offer quick and tasty meals. I hope to visit various other restaurants whenever I have the chance. Thank you for the meal!

Today, I visited "Wakana Soba" located at Hankyu Umeda Station Chayamachi Exit. It was another hot day, so I decided to try their cold noodles. I ordered the Cold Noodles with Rice Set for 780 yen, which came with ham, shredded egg, seaweed, cucumber, colorful pickled ginger, and a sweet and sour soy sauce dressing. It was a standard cold noodle dish, served with mayonnaise and chili on the side. The lightly seasoned rice side dish was also delicious.

Today, I came to Umeda to look for Radio ZWS-700. I probably won't find it. I didn't want to spend time and money on eating, and I was curious about this place for a while, so I decided to try it out. The grated buckwheat soba costs 430 yen, cheap! I got change back from just one coin. I wasn't expecting much in terms of taste, but the soba has a good chewy texture and is quite delicious. The radish sprouts add a spicy kick, which is a nice accent. The bonito flakes and tempura crumbs also do a great job. And squeezing lemon over it before eating is just perfect. Thank you for the meal.

On March 20, 2022 (Sunday), I happened to visit the "Wakana Soba" store, which had replaced the previous "Hankyu Soba" without realizing it. I became a fan after visiting the Hankyu Ikeda store by chance! Today, as it was too early for morning drinks, I decided to visit the Hankyu Chayamachi entrance store to recreate the excitement from that time. However, it was a bit disrespectful to expect the same taste reproduction as I was just trying to pass the time. Our order was two portions of Tempura Soba for 380 yen each (including tax). After waiting for 5 minutes, the Tempura Soba was ready! I took the exchange ticket and brought the trays to our table. The staff kindly reminded us to be careful as the trays were heavy. My wife, however, was too focused on her camera to notice. The aroma of the soup was similar to the previous experience, but the taste was slightly different. I had already set my expectations based on the taste of the Ikeda store, so I found myself comparing the flavors. It was definitely tastier than the previous Hankyu Soba, but there were differences in taste between the stores. The soba noodles had a smooth texture, almost like a new type of noodle rather than traditional soba. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and I look forward to trying out other stores. Thank you for the meal!

Counter soba restaurant located near Hankyu Chayamachi Station. I have visited places like Shioya and Miyako Soba in Osaka before, but this was my first time trying Wakana Soba. I ordered the chopped soba at the ticket machine near the entrance. In Osaka, udon is often more popular than soba, but everyone who came in after me ordered soba. When the soba was ready, I added free tempura flakes at the counter before taking my seat. The broth was not sweet, but rather refreshing. The soba noodles were thin and easy to slurp. The chopped toppings mixed well with the soba, creating a nice texture. If I have the chance, I would definitely consider Wakana Soba as an option again.

On November 26, 2021, around 8:30 PM, I had mountain-style soba at Yama Kake Soba Minasan. What kind of soba do you like? Personally, I love mountain-style soba and I regularly recharge with it. It's so nice to be able to eat it at the station... Mixing the egg yolk with wasabi... Mmm, it's fantastic! It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I used to live in Tokyo for a long time, so sometimes I crave standing soba noodles, but they are not available in Tokushima. The broth in the Kansai region is not as dark as in the Kanto region, but I love the dark and rich flavor. I especially love croquette soba, which is not often found in Kansai soba shops. I eat half of it as a side dish and then mix the rest into a thick paste, finally drinking it with the broth. I love it! However, Kansai soba shops do offer delicious herring soba, and since it's a standing soba shop, it's affordable. After enjoying the standing soba noodles and herring soba, I felt satisfied. Finally, I went to my favorite Tully's Coffee shop to enjoy a coffee while watching the trains on platform 1. It was a great meal. Thank you.

Recently, when I can't decide what to eat in Umeda, I always end up here. The onigiri is only 550 yen, but the satisfaction is irresistible. It may be small, but it's packed with ingredients. I always struggle to choose, but I can never leave out the mentaiko! The kombu, umeboshi, and salmon are also delicious, so I really have a hard time deciding.

This is a shop located next to the Chayamachi exit of Hankyu Osaka Umeda Station (2nd floor). I visited for a solo lunch on a weekday afternoon. I purchased a meal ticket from the vending machine inside the store, which was a Katsudon set meal for 680 yen (including tax). I chose to have warm soba. The meal was served in about 5 minutes. Tempura crumbs were available on the table. The Katsudon was delicious, but overall, I felt that the soba from Wakana-san was a bit disappointing for the price. I think it would be better if the tables and such were a bit cleaner. Thank you for the meal.

Today, I had to go to Umeda for work... It was around 8:30 am, just before my appointment. I was feeling a bit hungry. So, I decided to have a light breakfast. I went to Wakana Soba right after exiting the Hankyu Umeda Station ticket gate. I entered the restaurant around 8:30 am. There was one customer already there. I bought a meal ticket at the machine near the entrance. They had a breakfast menu, but I wasn't that hungry, so I ordered the simple soba noodles. After handing in my ticket, I waited for about 2 minutes... and then my order was ready! They called out for the soba customer. Oh, it comes with seaweed! So, I started eating... The soup was slightly sweet, in a Kansai style. The soba noodles were soft, typical of stand-up eateries. I noticed a sign outside the shop promoting free tempura scraps, so I added some tempura scraps and shichimi spice. Tempura scraps with shichimi spice is a good combination. I finished my meal quickly and headed off to work. It was a satisfying meal.

I wanted to eat something light for lunch, so I decided to go to Wakana Soba Hankyu Chayamachi-kuchi branch. I ordered the Oroshi Bukkake Soba for 380 yen and a salmon onigiri for 120 yen. Cold soba is delicious on hot summer days. It's a good choice for a quick, light, and affordable meal. Thank you for the meal.

This day, I have a small appointment near Dojima from 10:00. I plan to leave home at 7:25 in the morning, earlier than the scheduled time, so I head to the breakfast place I had been thinking about since the previous day. It's been years since I rode the crowded morning rush hour train. It's packed like crazy, but are you okay? Around 8:00, I arrive in front of the store. It's okay, I made it safely! (Of course!) There are a lot of people passing by in front of the store near the Chayamachi exit. The store has a neat appearance and feels welcoming for female customers. There was a banner with photos of the menu and morning specials in front of the store. I chose the morning set meal with udon from the morning specials menu. The morning set meal is served from 7:00 to 10:00. The interior of the store is bright, clean, and well-maintained. The staff are polite and efficient. After a short wait, my meal is ready. I go to the counter to pick it up. The udon comes with topped seaweed, two rice balls, and two rolled omelets. I sprinkle a bit of tempura flakes and shichimi pepper from the counter. The broth is slightly strong, leaning towards Kanto-style dashi. It seems like the same broth is used for both soba and udon. The flavor is well-balanced. The noodles are a bit firm for Osaka standards, slightly chewy but smooth. The seaweed has a good texture, thick and satisfying. The rice balls are in a traditional shape, and the rolled omelets are clearly commercial-grade but still tasty. It's a conveniently located place where you can quickly eat and head to work. It's also budget-friendly. It cost 430 yen for the morning set meal. I would like to visit this breakfast place again when I'm nearby. Thank you for the meal.

In Umeda, this place is the best for a quick and satisfying meal. The salmon and spicy cod roe onigiri are always popular and often sold out. But the kombu and plum are delicious too. They are all filled with plenty of ingredients and tasty. This time I tried the tempura, but since you can add as much tempura bits as you like, personally I recommend the fried tofu onigiri.

Located in front of the ticket gates at Hankyu Umeda Station, I was happy to find this place as I didn't have to take the Hankyu train to enjoy it. They offer an onigiri set for 550 yen, where you can choose two of your favorite onigiri flavors, including kitsune and katanuki. The fried tofu was just the right amount of sweetness and the soba noodles had a nice firm texture and were delicious. The onigiri were on the smaller side but packed with plenty of filling. For this price, the taste was unbeatable.
