Of course, grilling or frying the freshly caught fish is delicious too, but the freshness is best enjoyed raw. The selection of alcohol is also abundant. Whether you want to try various types of sake and shochu or stick to the same one, there are good options for all budgets. While they don't have any surprisingly premium drinks, the lineup is perfect for those looking for a light drink. In addition, there are many delicious dishes, and I was surprised that none of them seemed to be made carelessly. The staff is generally young, energetic, and leave a good impression. The food and drinks are served relatively smoothly, which is another pleasant aspect. This restaurant offers high-quality food in a casual atmosphere. Although all the dishes at this restaurant are really delicious, this one stood out the most for me. The clay pot rice was so good that I ended up eating the whole portion for one person. The staff kindly offered to pack the leftovers as rice balls for me. The shrimp and mushroom clay pot rice was also delicious. The young corn was interesting and I learned for the first time how young corn is harvested. It was fresh, large, and paired well with rock salt. It made me appreciate the taste of the ingredients. The miso soup at the end was a nice touch. The staff provided excellent service throughout my visit. The menu at this restaurant is extensive, so I look forward to coming back multiple times to try different dishes, especially since the daily fish recommendation changes. I visited a restaurant called "Chatten" today. It is an izakaya known for its fresh fish. On this day, they had a sashimi platter like the one in the photo! I highly recommend their cream croquettes!! They are topped with a special crab miso sauce and are so delicious that you'll want to eat more than one. They also served complimentary miso soup with crunchy seaweed, which was also very tasty! I ended up ordering more drinks and fell for Chatten's strategy, but I was still very satisfied!! Second visit. This place is lively. The main focus is on fish, but the taste is average. The slices are a bit small. My favorite is the crab miso shell grill. I want to drink sake with it, but I always end up too full from beer and lemon sour. Hang in there, restaurants are struggling with the Corona situation.

The appetizers were all so delicious and we got to choose two, which got us excited from the start. The sashimi was also delicious and there were no disappointments. After some draft beer, we switched to a bottle of shochu, so it only cost around 3500 yen per person, which was surprisingly cheap for someone who came from Tokyo! The male and female staff were all good-looking and had smiles on their faces, serving us energetically and politely answering even the weird questions from the older ladies. Unfortunately, we didn't catch many clams during the clam digging, maybe because we were only targeting the clams.
