Located in Namba's Hozoji Yokocho, this small okonomiyaki restaurant is relatively popular in the competitive okonomiyaki scene in Namba. I visited just before opening on a Saturday, and there were already a few people lining up. It seems you can also reserve a few seats for lunch, and there were customers with reservations entering as well. In the end, I waited about 10-15 minutes after opening before being seated. The restaurant has a counter on the first floor with a teppanyaki grill right in front, and the second floor has small tables and two seats facing the window for solo diners. This time, I was seated at one of the solo diner seats on the second floor. While lunch can be enjoyed anywhere, if you want to relax and enjoy your meal in the evening, the counter on the first floor might be better. There are several menu options, all of which look delicious! I usually order the pork okonomiyaki, but this time I decided to try their famous Modern-yaki, which is a bit pricier. It arrived shortly after ordering. They cook it after you order, so it's served in the best condition. The appearance was beautiful and appetizing! So, let's dig in. It looks rich with plenty of sauce, but since cabbage is the main ingredient, it's light and crispy. The sweetness of the cabbage, the umami of the meat and seafood, all spread gently in your mouth. The chewy yakisoba and fragrant sauce add color to the batter. While you might think the sauce and yakisoba are the main flavors, the batter, cabbage, and ingredients take the spotlight, allowing you to enjoy the essence of okonomiyaki. The gentle batter with a hint of dashi, the sweetness of the cabbage, and the flavorful ingredients complement each other perfectly! It's very well-balanced. It's quite filling, so I was worried if I could finish it all at first, but I managed to (laughs). Delicious food isn't too heavy even with all the umami. This is delicious! It was a Saturday, so I had to wait a bit, but compared to other okonomiyaki restaurants in the Namba area, the wait wasn't too long. And the taste is worth it. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for delicious okonomiyaki in the Namba area.

If possible, I would like to come here every week. The manager of "Yakinari" has a straightforward personality that is reflected in the taste of their carefully crafted dish - the famous "Modanyaki." It has a comforting aroma of dashi and is topped with "abura-kasu," adding depth without overwhelming greasiness. The taste of the "abura-kasu" can vary depending on the restaurant, but here it subtly permeates the dish, making it enjoyable. The "Ebi-mayo" is a surprising menu item with a whole shrimp sandwiched between thin layers of grilled squid - a unique and delicious option. For those who enjoy "okonomiyaki" or are in the mood for something a bit like "negiyaki" or "yakisoba," this is a great choice. The "Modanyaki" here made me realize how delicious it can be, even though I used to not like it. The perfect balance of noodles and batter, expertly cooked, is a standout feature for me. "Yakinari" has truly impressed me with their culinary skills!

I arrived a little before the restaurant opened, so I was able to get a seat without much waiting. The beef tendon with green onions was incredibly delicious. I also tried a bite of my friend's modern yaki, which had a fluffy texture and was also very tasty. Thank you for the meal.

When I sat down, I ordered a soft drink first. The negiyaki was delicious! The crispy pork was cooked perfectly. I thought this place is not suitable for people who care about customer service attitude. The owner gives off a tense aura and speaks in a matter-of-fact manner. While waiting in line, he told the two people who arrived first with a reservation for four, "If you go in first, we will start the 90-minute countdown from you. Please make sure to come at the reservation time even if not everyone is here." This made me feel that they are very strict about time. It's all for the sake of turnover, but I thought it may not be suitable for those who want to leisurely enjoy their meal. We were seated on the second floor this time, so we were able to enjoy our meal, but if we were seated on the first floor (right in front of the owner), it seems like we wouldn't be able to fully taste the flavors.

At the "Yakizen" restaurant in Hozumi Temple Yokocho, today I tried to reset my body from summer fatigue with the power of dashi broth. I came here seeking "negiyaki" (green onion pancakes). I ordered the sizzling plate of butter-grilled shrimp, scallops, and mushrooms, as well as the negiyaki with beef tendon. The aroma of butter at the teppanyaki grill is so enticing that even if you didn't order it, you can't help but take a deep breath through your nose. The butter-grilled dishes make the beer go down smoothly. As I continued eating, the flavors of the shrimp and scallops concentrated in the center of the plate mixed with the mushrooms for a luxurious bite. And then, the "negiyaki" at Yakizen! The unique flavor of the dashi broth and the restaurant's special beef tendon made for a gentle and delicious taste. From the first bite, the comforting aroma of dashi filled my senses. It's just so delicious - I'm glad to be Japanese.

I had Modern-yaki and Negi-yaki. I went to a popular restaurant during lunch time on the weekend, so there was a line. I'm not really sure about the differences in taste among okonomiyaki dishes, but it was delicious! The Modern-yaki had yakisoba in it, so it felt like I was getting to eat both okonomiyaki and yakisoba at once, which was a great deal!

Actually, it's about my 10th visit to this place♡ How many years has it been since my last visit?? It's been a while!! I was surprised to see so many foreign tourists. I ordered my favorite modern-style okonomiyaki. It had a strong cabbage flavor and was delicious♡ The crispy parts were the best‼︎ It was thick and very filling. I wanted to try the doteyaki too, but I was too full. I'll have the doteyaki next time!!

Delicious! Refreshing cucumber 360, Grilled squid with soy sauce 770, Yokocho grilled squid 340, Special Modern-yaki 1480. The pork and squid soba with cucumber was refreshing and cold, just right. The grilled squid had a small portion but was delicious. The Yokocho grilled squid was like a small okonomiyaki, priced at 340 yen, which was great! The Modern-yaki had a crunchy surface and was satisfying to eat. The balance of sauce, seaweed, and mayonnaise was good and delicious! Also, the service from the female staff was wonderful. Thank you for the meal!

Recently, it's hard to get into this restaurant because of the tourists! It's always super busy, with wait times of 30 minutes to 1 hour during peak hours. The taste is definitely delicious! The atmosphere of the restaurant is nice and the prices are reasonable. Whenever I go to Osaka, I always make sure to visit this restaurant.

I want to crack open a beer even though it's daytime and so hot in 2023. Last time I had the delicious "negiyaki," so this time I ordered another popular dish, the famous "modern-yaki." I envy the duo who can eat both dishes! First, beer! It's hot outside, but the inside of the restaurant is cool, and the beer makes it even cooler. We ordered the "doteyaki," a dish of simmered beef tendons seasoned with white miso, which is a mellow delight! It bubbles away as it's served, and it goes perfectly with beer. Next up, the "modern-yaki." It features crispy pork and chewy noodles with a delightful charred texture. With summer vacation starting, the okonomiyaki restaurant in Namba is once again crowded. It's nice to see more Japanese customers than before. Maybe next time I'll try the "negiyaki (with beef tendons)."

Visited with a friend for lunch on a day off. We lined up 20 minutes before opening, so we were able to enter smoothly. It is recommended to line up early as more people arrived after us. It was a hot day, so we started with beer and kimchi. Next, we ordered the shrimp and mushroom teppanyaki. It was delicious with the buttery flavor. The dotenabe was also tasty with a white miso base. The pork okonomiyaki was fluffy and changed my idea of Osaka-style okonomiyaki. It was nice that both the dotenabe and okonomiyaki were served on a hot teppan. Everything was so delicious that I will definitely come back.

On this day, I was in the mood for okonomiyaki. I went to a restaurant called "Yakinari" that I had wanted to visit for a while. I was seated at the counter on the first floor. I ordered their specialty Modern-yaki. It takes a little while for them to cook it after you order, but it's worth the wait because you get to eat it piping hot. The pork is crispy on the outside, the yakisoba inside is crispy on the outside and moist on the inside, the batter is full of cabbage and is firm, and the sweet sauce complements it well. It's a restaurant I want to visit again.

It was truly a renowned okonomiyaki restaurant! Visited with 6 friends from the countryside and myself, a total of 7 people, with a reservation in advance! The restaurant had a nostalgic atmosphere in Houzenji Yokocho. We enjoyed delicious okonomiyaki in a cozy setting with two tables for 4 people each, complete with sunken kotatsu tables. We ordered Modern-yaki, Negi-yaki, Yokocho-yaki, and Tonpei-yaki, and each dish was incredibly delicious! We will definitely come back again!

Visited this okonomiyaki restaurant in Hozoji Yokocho with a friend. The popular place we wanted to go to was too crowded, so we ended up here. We ordered Modern-yaki with extra green onions and Negi-yaki with squid. Both were delicious, especially the Negi-yaki with lots of green onions. The Modern-yaki was a bit watery, but the pork was crispy. It was my first time eating okonomiyaki in Osaka. I wanted to try yakisoba as well, but the restaurant was too busy. Thank you for the meal!

(^O^)❒’’ "Yokochoyaki" is perfect for when you want something a bit starchy. It has a luxurious feel to it, with a simple and delicious broth-based batter. Finished it in no time. "Seseri salt-grilled with grated ponzu" was also perfect for summer. The tender grilled chicken with salt, paired with grated ponzu, was a refreshing treat, creating a blissful moment. And then, the nerve-wracking first time trying "Negiyaki" today!!! (^O^)❒’’ So delicious! The tender beef tendon, marinated thoroughly, stayed delicious from the first bite to the last, working hand in hand with the green onions. The mild yet rich seasoning, not relying on saltiness, was superb (^O^)❒’’ Oh, trying something new instead of the usual menu sometimes is a good idea! The sweet green onions and the perfect seasoning! Got excited and added "Grilled white shrimp". Just hearing that it's shrimp caught in Kasumi Port in northern Hyogo Prefecture is enough to know it's delicious, but the impressive appearance and elegant shrimp flavor made me satisfied today! After finishing a food tour, I went in search of the main attraction, okonomiyaki. Every place I went to was full, but eventually I found a place with no line outside. Inside, there was only one other group of customers, so we waited a bit before being seated. We ordered the "Great Deal" set for 6,500 yen, which included light cucumber, Japanese-style salad, doteyaki (forgot to take a photo), yakisoba, Hozojiyaki, and negiyaki. My son had Ramune, while my wife and I had draft beer. The light cucumber was simple but delicious, with a flavorful dashi soy sauce. The Japanese-style salad was average. The doteyaki was tasty, although a bit small for sharing among three people. The yakisoba had chewy noodles and a rich sauce not commonly found in the Kanto region. The Hozojiyaki was like a mixed okonomiyaki with various ingredients, crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. The negiyaki was the standout, with crunchy green onions that were very tasty. I would consider ordering it separately next time. It was nice that they cooked everything before bringing it to the table, but it would have been better if we could add our own sauce and toppings according to our preferences.

I was in the mood for okonomiyaki for dinner, so I decided to go to this place. It seemed like good timing because more customers started lining up after I arrived. This was my second stop for the day, so I ordered lightly. The Doteyaki (720 yen) with white miso was surprisingly delicious, even though I usually don't enjoy white miso. The sweetness of the Doteyaki had a unique and addictive taste. The Butatama (980 yen) was very light and easy to eat, even though I was already full. The Assari Kyuuri (380 yen) was a perfect refreshing side dish with cucumber. Next time, I want to try various dishes at this place as my first stop!

A powder shop located in Hozenji Yokocho in Dotonbori, Osaka. The shop is small but two stories tall, so we were seated without much of a wait. I ordered Modern-yaki, Negi-yaki, and a drink. They said it would take about 15 minutes to serve because they want you to eat it at its best. After about 15 minutes, the Modern-yaki and Negi-yaki arrived on the hot plate. Both were piping hot and delicious, giving a taste of Osaka. Satisfied.

I had the modern-style okonomiyaki and the beef tendon ball okonomiyaki, both of which are specialties. I waited in line for almost an hour during the busy Golden Week holiday. The modern-style okonomiyaki was fluffy and delicious, but not exceptionally amazing. The beef tendon ball okonomiyaki was similar in taste.
