It had been a while since my family went shopping in Tenjin. My wife said she wanted something for Christmas, and my kids wanted something too. The end of the year sure requires a lot of money. While we were talking about that, we looked around Parco, Solaria Stage, Mitsukoshi, etc. Then, my child suddenly said, "I'm hungry" and wanted sushi. We tried to go to Hyotan Sushi, but it was too crowded so we gave up. Then we found Kizumaru and decided to have seafood bowls there. As we were waiting in line, my child spotted a sign saying "All-you-can-eat mentaiko" and insisted on going in. It turned out to be a great choice. I ordered an eel bowl, my wife had a sashimi set, and my child had a tempura set. We also tried the luxurious seafood bowl called "Uokichi Don." My wife and child enjoyed the mentaiko and rice a lot. They said the sashimi and tempura were delicious too. The price was amazing for the all-you-can-eat mentaiko. The mentaiko was tasty as well. It seems like this restaurant also offers daytime drinking, and they have a happy hour from 3 pm, so next time I'll try the cost-effective "senbero set."

I had a tempura set meal and seared salmon sashimi, and drank two glasses of beer! It cost around 3500 yen. The tempura was delicious, but it felt like something you could get anywhere. The salmon sashimi was just average. The best part was the unlimited spicy cod roe! I wanted to keep eating it forever! The flavor was amazing and the spiciness was just right. Personally, I prefer it a bit spicier, but the level of spiciness was appealing to everyone. I opted for a small portion of rice, but with this spicy cod roe, I would have been fine with a regular portion! I ate so much that I felt like I was going to burst!

A seafood restaurant located on the 2nd basement floor of the Solaria Stage. It was Saturday lunchtime and there was a wait of about 30 minutes with 10 groups ahead of us. The mentaiko (spicy cod roe) was served in a pot and refills were free! Rice and miso soup were also free for refills. The fish was incredibly fresh and everything we tried was delicious.

While strolling around Tenjin, I suddenly felt like having some fish. I was looking for a sushi restaurant, but decided to check out the underground area and found a course with sashimi included for around 1,300 yen. I happily entered the restaurant and sat at the counter. Started with some edamame, which seemed to be frozen, but the main dish was the sashimi. After a while, the sashimi arrived. It was a 5-piece assortment. This was quite a shock for me, as I had been avoiding chain restaurants in Fukuoka to enjoy good sashimi. I didn't expect to find the same quality in a place like this. I wish they handled the sashimi a bit better, as even my favorite squid was left uneaten. The shiso leaves had black spots on them. I recommend trying the set menu with unlimited mentaiko (spicy cod roe). Overall rating: ★★☆☆☆

Fukuoka business trip lunch clam soup set for 1290 yen (3 slices of sashimi, clam soup, unlimited squid mentaiko). The sashimi was thinly sliced, maybe the tuna was a bit fatty. The clam soup was delicious. This clam soup that is found from Shimonoseki to Hakata is what they call asari soup, served in a big bowl that warms your stomach. The squid mentaiko and rice are free refills, but I didn't go crazy since they have water hot pot waiting for dinner. The restaurant was a bit cramped, which was a downside, but overall it was pretty good, don't you think?

I wandered around the gourmet town in the basement of Solaria Stage at Hakata Seafood Restaurant Uokichi, feeling frustrated by the long line at Hyotan Sushi. I decided to try a different restaurant and ended up at a fish specialty shop. I ordered the Negitoro bowl & assorted side dish tempura set (1,590 yen tax included) from the touch panel. The food arrived promptly, but the visual presentation of the Negitoro roll was... well, let's just say it was questionable. Maybe I should have gone with the Maguro bowl instead. Presentation is important in both food and people. I'll try the customizable sashimi and side dish lunch next time. Thank you for the meal!

I visited for lunch and it was busy right after opening. I had to wait a bit. I had the sashimi set meal (1690 yen) where you can eat as much mentaiko as you want. You can also get free refills of rice and miso soup. So I was able to fully enjoy the mentaiko. There is a variety of sashimi and they tasted great.

Oh my goodness! The food looks nothing like the photos. The service was cold and unhelpful. I was kept waiting for so long and it made me irritated. The fish was not fresh and the staff were unfriendly, so I give it one star. The draft beer was Malt's. I should have just gone to the place across the street. The mentaiko (spicy cod roe) all-you-can-eat deal came in a small pot. I should have just left when I was ignored. The heat made the situation worse, and I couldn't help but make a sarcastic comment when paying the bill. I didn't want to become that kind of adult. The quality was quite disappointing.

Located in Solaia, this restaurant is conveniently close to a sports club and my workplace. It is situated in a corner of the food and beverage floor. With the qualification to source directly from Nagahama Fresh Fish Market, they use freshly caught, carefully selected fish every day. A branch of the long-established Kizuitei, a 43-year-old traditional Japanese restaurant. Ordering a set meal allows you to enjoy unlimited mentaiko (spicy cod roe), which is a popular choice. Last time, I accidentally ordered a seafood bowl, so this time I will make sure to order a set meal. Upon entering, there are counter seats and table seats. Since it was full, I was instructed to wait on a chair by the entrance. After 5 minutes, a table for two became available and I was seated. This area is designated for solo diners. I ordered the clam soup set meal. The dishes were served on a tray. The main dish was clam soup, so there were plenty of clams. The side dishes included assorted sashimi and tofu. Their specialty, delicious mentaiko, comes in a jar. Since it's all-you-can-eat, I generously topped my rice with half of the jar. It was also nice that you could get a refill of rice. For the second bowl, I piled on plenty of mentaiko! In local households, mentaiko is not often served in large quantities, so being able to enjoy it in such a way felt luxurious. The fish set meal offers a variety of options. Additionally, they have a weekday special called "Happy Hour" from 3 pm, where you can enjoy two drinks of your choice, edamame, a seasonal sashimi platter, and an extra complimentary drink upon entering the "Happy Hour" period. I would like to try this offer if I have the chance.

The other day, when my family went shopping in Tenjin, we were looking for a place to have lunch. We came across "Kisuiramaru" and decided to go there, but then we noticed a restaurant right behind it with a sign saying "All-you-can-eat mentaiko (spicy cod roe)". We ended up going to "Hakata Seafood Restaurant Uokichi". The restaurant wasn't very spacious, but it had counter seats and table seats. As we looked at the menu, we saw various options like seafood bowls, sesame mackerel set meal, sashimi set meal, fish head soup set meal, tempura set meal, mackerel simmered in miso set meal, salted mackerel set meal, etc. We were torn between the sashimi set meal, sesame mackerel set meal, and customizable set meal. The sashimi set meal had about 7 types of fresh sashimi, and it was delicious. The sesame mackerel set meal had plump mackerel with a tasty sesame sauce. What's great about this restaurant is that when you order a set meal, you get all-you-can-eat mentaiko, and you can have unlimited rice and miso soup refills. It's an amazing place that makes you want to come back again. Thank you for the meal.

Checked out of the hotel and had a late breakfast at Uokichi, a seafood restaurant in the basement of Solaria Stage in Fukuoka. Arrived at 11:00 am on a Sunday and there were already a few people waiting in line. When the restaurant opened, some people went in directly from the entrance, which made me feel a bit uncomfortable. Nevertheless, I ordered the Uokichi bowl. Later found out that if you order a set meal, you can have unlimited servings of mentaiko, which was a shock. If I go there again, I might choose the set meal next time.

I ordered the "Fishyoshi Choose 2 Side Dishes Set Meal" which included "Sesame-flavored Sea Bream (small)" and "Assorted Tempura (small)" with all-you-can-eat mentaiko (spicy cod roe) in Fukuoka. It was my first meal of the trip, and I had decided to eat mentaiko for lunch. Unfortunately, the planned restaurant was affected by a festival and I couldn't go, so I had to find an alternative. Luckily, I stumbled upon a place that offered "all-you-can-eat mentaiko," which was even better than what I was looking for. The set meal menu was extensive, and the cost performance seemed quite good. I was convinced that I had found a jackpot of a restaurant. I had tried mentaiko at another place during my Fukuoka trip, but the mentaiko here was by far the most delicious and addictive I had ever tasted. It made me eat rice at an alarming rate. Honestly, mentaiko can be too salty and overwhelming at times. However, the mentaiko here had just the right amount of saltiness, a mild flavor, no fishy smell, and a popping texture. I was truly amazed at how delicious mentaiko could be. The rice was shiny, sweet, and chewy, which complemented the mentaiko perfectly, and vice versa. The sea bream with sesame dressing was also tender and moist, which I enjoyed. The tempura included pumpkin, shrimp, horse mackerel, eggplant, and green pepper. They were all crispy and delicious, making it hard to choose a favorite. My friends also seemed satisfied, and it turned out to be a fantastic encounter. Thank you for the meal.

The environment has calmed down a bit, so I visited to enjoy a delicious fish meal, where you can choose two dishes in a set meal. The boiled fish and sashimi are must-haves. The boiled fish is really delicious and I can't do without it. With unlimited mentaiko (spicy cod roe) and rice refills, it's a perfect meal.

Today's lunch adventure led me to the Tenjin area! It was just before 11 o'clock, so I decided to check out the Solaria building. I was in the mood for something light and came across a seafood bowl restaurant! Perfect! Let's head to this place! The interior had a counter and tables, and it was of a moderate size. After looking at the menu, I decided to go for the "Fishy's Mini Bowl Set" (1,480 yen) where you can choose from 8 types of bowls and 9 types of side dishes. This time, I chose the seafood bowl and chicken nanban! Although I regretted not ordering the set meal afterwards... The food arrived at the counter after about 5 minutes! The seafood bowl had salmon, sea bream, and amberjack, all fresh and tasty. The rice was not vinegared, allowing the flavor of the fish to shine through. Next, I tried the chicken nanban, with its crispy coating and tender chicken, complemented by the sweet and sour sauce and tartar sauce. I especially enjoyed the option for unlimited miso soup refills! I arrived around 11 o'clock, and within 30 minutes, the restaurant was almost full. Maybe everyone was seeking shelter from the rain underground? Next time, I might go for the set meal for the unlimited servings of mentaiko. Bon appétit!

I went to a donburi izakaya restaurant called "Kisumaru" on the same floor. I wanted to eat a fish set meal that day, so I came here. I ordered the daily set meal (mackerel simmered in soy sauce & horse mackerel fry) for 860 yen. After placing my order, they asked, "Would you like some mentaiko (spicy cod roe)?" and brought a bottle filled with mentaiko. (But I couldn't eat just that, so I quickly wanted some white rice - haha) I was happy to see the sashimi in the small dish. The simmered mackerel was tender and the flavor was just right. The rice went down smoothly! I wanted to have some mentaiko, so I ended up getting a refill of rice. Haha. The horse mackerel fry was crispy, and the lineup of side dishes was really luxurious. I ran out of alcohol. I definitely need to come back at night too! I arrived at the restaurant right when it opened, but by the time I left, it was full and there was a waiting list. I recommend coming a little before or after the lunch rush.

In the past, I used to be thrilled with the all-you-can-eat mentaiko, eating about half of the container before the dish arrived, and then finishing the rest with another whole bottle of mentaiko after the rice arrived. However, due to a significant revision in my diet, I have refrained from such reckless behavior. This restaurant offers delicious dishes without the need for additional value from mentaiko. It is reasonably priced, has a wide selection, and is a very good restaurant where you wouldn't get tired of going every day. But going every day might lead to high salt intake due to the temptation of mentaiko, so I don't go every day. This time, I chose the "Toro Saba Mirin-yaki set for ¥1180". It was delicious, just like the mirin-yaki I used to eat a lot as a child. Even though it didn't come with mentaiko, it was still a good meal, but I couldn't resist having about half of the container of mentaiko. As for the concern about salt intake, I think it should be fine as long as I consume potassium (I had watermelon at home) to help with excretion.

I went on a regular night! I ordered the Chicken Nanban set meal. Apparently, when you order a set meal, you can eat as much mentaiko as you want! As for the Chicken Nanban itself, surprisingly, the meat was mostly skin... I might not come back again. I think the fish dishes are probably more delicious than the Chicken Nanban!

It's raining so I went underground. I felt like eating mentaiko, so I visited this place. The highlight here is definitely the mentaiko and rice all-you-can-eat that comes with the set meal, haha. I always eat until I'm full. Today, I ordered the fish head soup set meal. It arrived in about 10 minutes. I immediately took a sip of the fish head soup. Delicious!!! The fish head has a nice fatty flavor, so tasty. The only downside is that there are a lot of bones. Oh, and another good point is that they have dashi soy sauce, sweet soy sauce from Kyushu, and sesame sauce placed on the table. There was yellowtail sashimi included, so I had it with the sesame sauce. Sesame yellowtail is delicious!!! And with mentaiko available, I couldn't stop eating the rice. I had seconds and my stomach was full. Thank you for the meal. *Repeat visit to the 18th restaurant.

I had a set meal with a choice of two side dishes and unlimited refills of draft beer. The sashimi was fresh and delicious, including carefully raised buri, salmon, and sea bream. I chose simmered fish as one of my side dishes. The unlimited mentaiko was a great bonus, and I left feeling very satisfied. The staff were efficient and provided excellent service.
