For lunch today, I went to this seafood izakaya where you can enjoy a satisfying set meal. I ordered the "Chicken Nanban Bento." Even though it's a seafood-focused izakaya, the Chicken Nanban was delicious. The tempura assortment comes with grated daikon and tempura dipping sauce. It's nice that it also comes with a sashimi platter with two types of fish. Kaizi-san is open all day, and you can order set meals anytime, which is convenient for late lunch times. During a certain lunchtime, I visited this seafood izakaya. I chose a table seat and ordered the "Chicken Thigh Shichimi Yaki Bento (860 yen)". The main dish was the spicy and flavorful "Chicken Thigh Shichimi Yaki", accompanied by sashimi and tempura, making it feel like having three main dishes in one bento. In the late afternoon, feeling a bit hungry, I was looking for a place where I could have a light meal like a set meal, but couldn't find the right place near the station. A colleague recommended this restaurant to me, so I decided to stop by. It's an izakaya, but they also have set meals. I was surprised by the affordability, with the dashimaki bento priced at 750 yen. There are other options like grilled chicken set for 860 yen, and ginger pork bento for 860 yen, all reasonably priced. The set meals come in bento boxes. The dashimaki bento includes dashimaki tamago, 4 slices of sashimi, tempura, rice, and miso soup. The dashimaki tamago was soaked in dashi and had a unique flavor of pickled red ginger. With tempura included, I thought it was quite a bargain for 750 yen. The rice was a bit firm, so I felt it could have been cooked a bit softer, but that might depend on the person cooking it. The presence of set meals makes it easy for solo diners to visit, and the convenient location right by the station in Takatsuki makes it a place I would visit again when working in the area.

One evening on a certain weekend, we went out for errands and ended up being drawn to this seafood izakaya located on the north side of Hankyu Takatsuki-shi Station. We had visited this place for lunch shortly after it opened, and I was amazed by how affordable the "sashimi set meal" was, so I had always wanted to come back for daytime drinking. You can place your order through your smartphone. We started with a toast with the "draft beer (tax included 290 yen)" during Happy Hour. My husband quickly ordered from the food menu - "seared amberjack sashimi", "hinapon (fish cake)", and "potato salad". ...which led us to our second round of drinks. And then, the horse mackerel that had been swimming in the tank just moments ago... As someone who doesn't have many food dislikes, I am quite uncomfortable with freshly killed fish that are still moving... The eyes of the horse mackerel seemed to be pleading with me, but I gratefully took a bite and accepted its life. And of course, I couldn't resist having some sake, my favorite, along with "sweet shrimp sashimi". The sake kept flowing. We also had the "spicy grilled chicken thigh" and finished off with some "namerou (minced fish)". That's all for today. I was very satisfied with the early evening draft beer and sake, as well as the dishes that went well with alcohol. Thank you for the meal.

The battle of the 2022 seafood bowls continues with number 10. On June 17th, a new restaurant opened in Takatsuki, Osaka called "Taishu Sengyo Sakaba Kaiji". Instead of ordering from the lunch menu, I tried the Bukkake Don for 580 yen.

I visited a newly opened seafood izakaya on the north side of Hankyu Takatsuki-shi Station for lunch. Despite being a seafood izakaya, they didn't have a "fish-based menu," so I decided to go for the "Grilled Chicken Thigh with Seven Spices Bento." The interior of the restaurant was clean and spacious, with a lively atmosphere even during lunchtime. Although the menu didn't include it, the staff mentioned they also had a sashimi set, so I ordered that instead. The sashimi set included bonito tataki, black sea bream, yellowfin tuna, sweet shrimp, and mackerel, along with rice and miso soup. The sashimi was generous and satisfying, and to my surprise, the price was very reasonable at 780 yen including tax. It was a great value lunch, thank you.

The tuna is really delicious! The medium fatty tuna, seared cheek meat, so delicious! Highly recommended! There are also options like a 5-kind assortment, so you can enjoy a variety. The staff seem to be part-timers, not very friendly and slow, but the food is delicious so it's forgivable. I want to go back to eat tuna again!

On Saturday, I made a reservation for the all-you-can-drink option for 980 yen. The restaurant is located right near Hankyu Takatsuki-shi Station. The place is spacious. The all-you-can-drink option lasts for an hour and a half with last order. They also have a happy hour on weekdays which seems convenient. The food was average, but considering the price, it's a good deal. Personally, I thought the onion fries went well with beer. It's cheap, convenient, and near the station. Thank you for the meal! ♡

I visited Maguro and Nihonshu Toro-tan for tuna and sake. I ordered tuna first since it's about tuna and sake. The sashimi and rare cuts were lightly grilled with solid fuel. Alcohol disinfection and ventilation were also done, and the infection prevention measures seemed perfect.

I found a place where you can have a daytime drink. It was written as seafood, so I had high expectations when I entered. The customers were a mix of salarymen having lunch, elderly men in pairs, and couples. It's great to have a daytime drink where you can also enjoy some snacks with alcohol! I had a disappointing experience with tuna at other restaurants in Takatsuki, but here was really delicious and the atmosphere of the restaurant was also nice. Despite being busy, the service was good.
