The staff was very polite and explained everything in detail. There was a beautiful lady who caught my attention, even though I am a woman. I ordered the Samgyupsal set for 2500 yen with the all-you-can-drink plan. The amount of side dishes and chijimi was so much that I felt bad leaving some. The price was reasonable, and being able to choose from a variety of drinks made it easy to enjoy Korean cuisine. It was a great experience!

Neighborhood Korean drinking party at Sottukon in Kashii. Sottukon is a Samgyupsal restaurant located on the sparkling street in Kashii neighborhood. They used to be an izakaya, but now they focus on all-you-can-eat Samgyupsal, which made me hesitant to visit. However, I found out that they also offer a la carte menu, so I decided to try it out. I started with a draft beer and three pieces of fried chicken for 330 yen, followed by Sundubu jjigae for 900 yen. For my second round, I had a highball and ordered Bossam for 1200 yen. At this point, I started craving Makgeolli. It's so relaxing here. Interestingly, there were many babies around the tables, creating a heartwarming atmosphere. If only I could have Makgeolli now...

I visited the restaurant as soon as it opened. When I placed my order, I was served with a variety of side dishes, all of which were delicious and satisfying. However, the Samgyupsal (pork belly) took about 30 minutes to arrive at the table. The meat was already cut and it felt more like Japanese yakiniku (grilled meat) than Korean cuisine. This lack of Korean atmosphere was disappointing. I didn't take any photos because of this. The vegetables placed in the center seemed more boiled than grilled, and there was no hole in the center of the iron plate. Also, there was no Samjang (dipping sauce) provided, only rock salt. The meat tasted too salty with just the salt, so I had to ask for sesame oil. Despite the delicious side dishes, it felt like a waste to eat them with just the salted pork. The seating was in a kotatsu style, which should have been cozy, but it was cold in January as the heating was either not working or not sufficient. The staff were very kind, but I was disappointed that I couldn't fully enjoy the main attraction of the restaurant, the meat. I hope they start providing Samjang and offer smaller pieces of vegetables for wrapping. It was a sad experience.

A new restaurant called Sottokon has opened where Asa Ki used to be. They offer Samgyeopsal (Korean pork belly) all-you-can-eat starting from 3500 yen, with various side dishes included. The thick-cut domestic pork belly used for Samgyeopsal is delicious when wrapped in lettuce with spicy miso and sesame oil sauce. The unique feature of Sottokon is the iron plate shaped like a pot lid, where the fat from the meat drips down in the middle. They also offer all-you-can-drink Korean soft drinks for 1200 yen, which is not common in other restaurants. The Bibimbap-style stone pot dish at the end is also tasty. If you register on LINE, you can get a free beauty vinegar service, and there is a 500 yen discount for following them on Instagram. They are also giving away alcohol gel bottles as part of their opening promotion. Overall, a great place to try if you're interested. You won't be disappointed with the food!

It's been a while since I had something delicious! The fried rice at the end was so good, I could eat it all up. They made it without kimchi so that my grandchild could also enjoy it. It was thoughtful of them to come and ask about our preferences. Thank you very much!

The Samgyeopsal was thick and came with plenty of side dishes, making it almost impossible to finish even though it was all-you-can-eat. The restaurant was clean and had a sense of cleanliness, with K-pop playing, making it feel like being on a trip to Korea. I will definitely visit again.

It seems like it has been a year since this Samgyupsal specialty restaurant opened. They used to only offer all-you-can-eat at night, so I never had the courage to try it as it seemed like a losing battle. Recently, they started offering individual menu items. They have been selling bento boxes for lunch for the past 2-3 months, priced at 500 yen each. The four menu options are:
- Karaage Don (Fried Chicken Donburi)
- Tteokbokki Don (Spicy Rice Cake Donburi)
- Mix Don (with fried chicken and tteokbokki)
- Bibimbap
The Mix Don includes 2 pieces of fried chicken and 2 pieces of tteokbokki with a bit of cabbage. The portions of rice seem to be on the smaller side, but it's definitely worth it at this price! The Bibimbap is a classic and reportedly delicious. The price for a single piece of fried chicken for takeout was around 120 yen, which seems a bit high. Overall, it was a satisfying meal!
