The restaurant had many regular customers, and even on weekdays, it was overflowing with customers. Whether it's liver, heart, tongue, skirt, loin, or hormone, everything was delicious! The kimchi and pickles were also delicious! For dessert, I had rice balls and tail soup, which had a soy sauce base and a unique flavor that I had never tasted before. It was a fantastic soup.

In Kyoto, the popular yakiniku restaurant "Hatsuda" may be more famous for the bento boxes sold on the 2nd floor of Kyoto Station's Isetan department store than the main store. It was quite far from Kyoto Station, requiring 2 train transfers or costing about 4,000 yen (one way) by taxi. I managed to reserve a seat on the day and went to eat alone. I didn't do any research beforehand, so I thought it might be an omakase style, but it turned out to be a place where you order a la carte. The staff recommended the yukke, so I decided on the cuts of meat to order while snacking on it. I started with salted tongue, top loin, and then marinated harami, kalbi, and liver. The cuts were all very refined, which didn't quite match my preference for heartier cuts of meat. The meat disappeared after just a few chews. The meat itself was very good, especially the top loin and kalbi. The kalbi, despite being small, was packed with flavor and was the number one choice of the day. However, the meat's refined texture may not be to everyone's liking. I also ordered a mysterious tasting soup that became addictive. I wanted to drink more and more of it, it captivated me like a drug. This was really good. The biggest issue with the restaurant is probably the billing. The prices of the meat are not clearly stated, ranging from 2,000 yen upwards. In other words, it's market price. Therefore, you won't know how much you need to pay until you ask for the bill, which could be frustrating for many. Furthermore, they inform you that there will be an additional charge for using a credit card, which can be disheartening. In the end, I had one drink and ate plenty of meat, and the total came to 18,800 yen. Whether this is expensive or cheap depends on personal standards, but for those who are bothered by the lack of clarity, this may not be the right place. On the other hand, for those who are used to this kind of system, such as at sushi restaurants, this place may be suitable. Personally, I have no issue with the market price system, but I do think they should stop adding charges for credit card use. It doesn't make sense. I have a blog called "Yakiniku Zukan" where I document my experiences eating at yakiniku restaurants across Japan. Check out my blog for more information on other yakiniku restaurants.

Met up with a classmate from Kagoshima for a meal at the renowned restaurant "Hatsuda." We decided to treat the elderly to some delicious yakiniku. We enjoyed lemon soy sauce marinated tongue, salt-grilled meats with ponzu sauce, and marinated meats with yakiniku sauce. Finished off with the usual pork belly, rice, and miso soup with clams. This is truly paradise!

Visited with someone who I am grateful to, the restaurant is located on the outskirts of town with very few other shops around, making it stand out on its own. The atmosphere inside is calm, with the staff wearing clean white aprons, fitting for a long-established renowned restaurant. Since I was invited, I left the ordering up to them. - Yukke with mustard, a unique way of serving - Tongue salt, sliced quite thin, personally I prefer it a bit thicker for a firmer texture - Tongue with lemon sauce, the sauce might not be the best match - Kalbi, a soft cut of meat, I prefer it sliced a bit thicker - Tail belly, today's special, thinly sliced meat with a rich flavor, served with grated yam sauce Also, personally, the pickled radish went well with alcohol and was delicious.

I brought home a bento box for dinner as a souvenir!! I visited a place on May 4th, right at 5:00 PM, during the middle of Golden Week. There was no waiting line and I was able to get in without a reservation. However, they explained that it would take about 15 minutes to prepare the order. I paid 1,944 yen (tax included) and when I opened the lid at home, the meat still had a delicious aroma and was surprisingly tender without the fat congealing. The slightly sweet and savory sauce paired perfectly with the rice and shredded cabbage. I felt like the simplicity of the ingredients really showcased the deliciousness of the meat. The price was also very reasonable for the satisfaction I got from the meal, making this yakiniku restaurant quite charming.

I purchased a bento box from this favorite shop! They offer two sizes, small and large. Even though the bento is cold, it tastes incredibly delicious for some reason. It has a sweet and savory sauce with a hint of charcoal flavor, and when eaten with rice, it disappears in no time. Thank you for the meal!

The 【Wagyu Beef Bento】 from Hatsuda, which is highly popular as a station bento in Kyoto. I tried it for the first time. The 【Wagyu Beef Bento (small)】 costs 1,296 yen. Surprisingly, the seasoning is light and leaves a good impression. The sweetness and soy sauce are just right, making the seasoning good. In terms of flavor, the Wagyu beef fat comes out firmly overall and lingers in the mouth. The savory grilled aroma is attractive, and the cabbage laid out serves as a good cushioning material. Unfortunately, the rice is a letdown. It either had a hard core or was mushy, not meeting the standard for a bento. With a large amount of Wagyu beef fat added, it became a tough battle for me personally. I shared the small size with another person, but I predict it would be difficult for one person to finish it alone. Overall, this is a recommended beef bowl bento for those who prefer fat over lean meat or enjoy Wagyu beef fat.

Hatuda is a popular yakiniku restaurant located a 5-7 minute walk from Shugakuin Station. Known for their wagyu bento and high-quality grilled meats, this yakiniku restaurant has been selected as one of the top 100 yakiniku restaurants for three consecutive years since 2019. They offer both dine-in and take-out options, so you can enjoy their grilled meats at the restaurant and also purchase wagyu bento as a souvenir. We ordered popular menu items such as tongue salt and beef harami, as well as the wagyu bento. The tongue salt and beef harami, which are made with high-quality meat, were juicy and delicious, with a perfect match with rice. The luxurious wagyu bento, topped with thinly sliced cabbage, was also delightful. If you have the chance to ride the Eizan Electric Railway in Kyoto, be sure to visit Hatuda. Thank you for the delicious meal!

Whenever I travel to Kyoto, I always make sure to purchase this bento box. It is a bit pricey, but the taste is addictive! I always call the shop directly to have it made for me. I usually buy it as a late-night snack during my trip. The savory meat, delicious rice, and cabbage in between them do a great job of bringing everything together. It is truly a delicious bento box!

I had heard rumors, but it really was delicious. I ordered a bento box over the phone and was told to wait for 40 minutes. In the meantime, I ended up having dinner somewhere else. When I went to pick it up, the smell alone assured me that it was going to be delicious. I had it the next day and the seasoning on the meat was slightly sweet, giving me the impression of a very high-quality beef bowl. I think it's a must-buy souvenir from Kyoto.

I got the famous Hatsu-da's Wagyu beef bento. I didn't need a reservation, which was great. They also have a small size option now. It cost around 1300 yen including tax. The fatty belly meat was piled on top of shredded cabbage. It might be too rich on its own, but with rice, it's just the right addictive balance. The simplicity really enhances the perfect balance. Since the restaurant is a bit far and I don't get the chance often, I'll definitely try the grilled belly meat at the restaurant next time I come!

I tried this Wagyu beef bento for the first time two days ago. I bought it at Isetan in JR Kyoto Station for my companion who was leaving early on our trip to Shikoku. I only had a little taste, but I couldn't forget how delicious it was. Today, since I was traveling back home from Kyoto alone, I decided to order it from the actual store over the phone. The store is located near the famous chicken broth restaurant "Gokkei". Despite the long line, I managed to find a parking spot and went inside. The place was bustling and packed, even though it was already 6 pm. As expected from a top 100 yakiniku restaurant! I picked up the bento, had a few bites in the car, and it was still warm and delicious. When I got home and opened it, I could smell the charcoal from two days ago. The tender Wagyu beef with the not-too-sweet sauce, and a sprinkle of my own sansho pepper, made it even more delicious! The advantage of buying from the actual store is being able to enjoy it fresh. The taste remains just as good as when I had it at Isetan or at the store. Next time, I want to try eating it at the restaurant. Thank you for the meal.

Visited on a day off. It's a shop in Kyoto. Bought a wagyu bento! I thought they would be sold out, but I tried my luck around 5:30 pm and there were only two left. It's a bit pricey at around 2000 yen, but the meat is fragrant and really delicious. Thank you for the meal! :)

When I went to Kyoto, there were two bento boxes I wanted to buy. One of them was the "Wagyu Bento" here! Originally, I planned to have this bento as my dinner, but I got hungry while sightseeing in Kyoto, so I ended up going to a ramen shop. However, when I arrived at the shop, I saw a line of about 20 people and had to give up! Next, we discussed options like "How about Kyoto-style Chinese food?" or "Should we have some yakiniku?" and ended up going to a yakiniku (offal) restaurant. I was planning to have it for lunch the next day, but I woke up the next morning with a really empty stomach, so I ended up having it for breakfast. As you can see in the photo, the meat is piled high, with shredded cabbage underneath, which is a nice touch. The meat has a delicious smoky aroma, which really increases your appetite. The rice is also soaked in sauce, so I had a luxurious breakfast! The price is not cheap (¥1,950 including tax), but I think it's a reasonable price. Thank you for the meal!

Hatsuda-san is a familiar bento shop in Kyoto! I hadn't been there in a long time, but I finally decided to go back! It's a bit far from the city, so it's not easy to get to... I took a taxi there, which was expensive...lol. There were a lot of customers in the shop, and the quality of the meat looked good! I got scolded for taking a photo...lol. For the final dish, I ordered the meat that everyone was recommending. It was a bit salty! lol. Since it had been a while since I last visited, I decided to get a bento to take home. When I ate it at home, it was still too salty... I guess it's a matter of personal taste.

I had some business in Kyoto and purchased this bento box! They had small and large sizes, but since it was my first time, I ordered the small one. It was nice that they included disposable chopsticks and a wet towel. As for the bento box itself, it was absolutely delicious!! The beef was cooked in a sweet and savory sauce, and the charred aroma from grilling was really addictive. Highly recommended!

Wagyu Bento It's obvious that it's delicious because it uses wagyu, but the characteristic is definitely the savory aroma of charcoal. Just by smelling it, your appetite increases. And after finishing it, you'll feel like you want a little more. Overall, it's a taste that you can't get at home. Apparently, Kyoto has the highest beef consumption in Japan, so this bento also has a Kyoto-like quality to it. Thank you for the meal! (≧∀≦)ノ

I had plans to go on a day trip to Kyoto, so I pre-ordered this yakiniku bento that I had been wanting to try for a while and ate it on the Shinkansen. The perfectly grilled Japanese beef was not greasy even when cold, making it easy to eat. The lightly seasoned beef allowed the natural deliciousness of the Japanese beef to shine, and the texture of the shredded cabbage placed between the rice and beef enhanced the flavor. Despite being a simple bento, it was a dish that didn't get boring until the end and made me want to taste it again. It would also make a great souvenir that would be appreciated.
