Located a 3-minute walk from Gion Station on the Fukuoka City Subway and a 9-minute walk from Nakasu Kawabata Station. 14 seats available. No private rooms. Non-smoking. Credit cards accepted. Electronic money accepted. QR code payment available. No parking lot, but there are many coin parking lots nearby. Business hours are from 7:00 to 20:00. Open every day of the year. (Website) http://porktamago.com/ I have had several occasions to visit Reisenmachi this year, passing by the Pork Tamago Kushida Omotesando store. This is a one-way street leading to Kushida Shrine, with the first torii gate serving as an exit. In front of the first torii gate is the Oohaku-dori road, and facing it is the Tochoji Temple. There are many coin parking lots in this area, which I use when entering and exiting nearby buildings. It's convenient for my needs. I have visited this place a few times for a quick lunch, as it seemed like a place where I could have a quick meal. I have used both the eat-in and take-out options. I will review based on the photos I took on the day of my visit. Depending on the day and time, it can get crowded, with many Uber Eats deliveries coming in and out. There is a menu board outside the store. Upon entering, you will find the order counter right away, and in the back, there are women in white aprons working in the kitchen. You order and pay first. On busy days, you receive a number ticket and wait. There is a display of SPAM cans at the order counter. They also have "Yamagata rice" and "Ajibo eggs" stacked up. The Ajibo eggs from Nogami Poultry Farm are said to be used by 600 stores in the Kitakyushu area. It's a reliable choice, and I'm happy to see it. The store offers a cozy atmosphere for both eat-in and take-out options. It's best to enjoy the freshly made items in the store. The Pork Tamago Onigiri, which wraps pork luncheon meat and eggs with warm rice and seaweed, is my favorite. The warm rice and omelette are delicious. It's different from the SPAM onigiri I bought at a store in Okinawa. The standard "Pork Tamago" is satisfying, with just the right balance. I recommend it as a light snack for rice lovers. Other menu items include additional ingredients on top of this.

I ordered Ebitar (650 yen), Mentaiko Mayo (460 yen), and Orion beer (400 yen). I felt that the Mentaiko Mayo had a strong flavor of seaweed seasoning, similar to the taste of seaweed. The strong flavor of Mentaiko Mayo also goes well with beer! The Ebitar had a crispy coating, which also goes well with beer! The tartar sauce was only on the front part, so towards the end, it felt like I was just eating plain po-tam. I ordered two dishes and was full. I'm curious about the bitter melon tempura and the standard po-tam. I'll come back again next time!

I knew the name of this place and was curious about it, but I hadn't tried it because it seemed like something I could make at home. Thanks to the festival, the place was not crowded early in the morning, and there was already a line forming. We decided to try it out as well. Even though we weren't very hungry, we ordered the classic pork tamago and a side of mozuku seaweed soup. It was a bit pricey for something like an onigiri, but when we picked it up, we were surprised by how heavy it was. The thick pork and rice filling gave it a satisfying heft. The saltiness was just right. I still think I could probably make something similar at home, but I might visit this place again if it's nearby. I was also curious about the Premium version with lots of toppings that wasn't available that day. Many customers were happily enjoying their food with a beer in hand early in the morning. The atmosphere in the restaurant was relaxing, even though it quickly filled up. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.

I stayed at a hotel in Gion and visited around 8 o'clock for breakfast. I bought the Hakata limited edition mentaiko (spicy cod roe) for 700 yen. The shop was run by a veteran who provided polite service. I noticed that they focused on branding with yellow as the main color. I took it to go and ate it at the hotel, but eating in is also possible. If I come near again, I will try a different menu next time.

Potama is a shop that I am very grateful for in Okinawa. It is a shop that I love dearly. I always order it as a set with mozuku soup. If you come to Takana Potama, you must try it at least once. This time, I visited twice, so I ordered Takana on the first visit and the locally limited mentaiko on the second visit. Both were consistently delicious.

First time visiting this store! There are two dedicated parking spaces next to the store! It's always busy with Uber and other customers, so it's a popular spot. The street has a nice breeze, making it enjoyable to have lunch. The shiso plum was delicious. The fried horse mackerel had a slight raw smell, maybe just this time. Next time, I'll try the bitter melon tempura. Thank you for the meal!

My friend wanted to try the limited edition mentaiko (spicy cod roe) tamagoyaki at this restaurant, but unfortunately it was sold out. My friend ordered the goya fry tamagoyaki with aosa soup, while I had the mentaiko mayo tamagoyaki with fried onions. We both enjoyed the delicious meal with Orion beer. The fried onions were hidden at the bottom, making us think it was just potatoes. I was really hungry and ordered two thinking I could handle it, but it was quite a large portion!! However, the taste was amazing so I finished it all in no time. My friend looked like they were in pain, but I've been wanting to eat this since I went to Okinawa, so I'm happy I could eat it in Fukuoka too.

Hello everyone, what's up? It's MoriP, who loves to eat around Fukuoka! Today, I visited "PotaTama Kushida Omotesando Store". I tried their "Hakata MenTama" which includes spam, thick grilled egg, Fukuya's mentaiko, karashi takana, and shiso. The onigiri was huge and filling! It was my first time trying spam, and it was quite salty. The thick grilled egg was firm and lightly seasoned. The Fukuya's mentaiko brought back nostalgic memories from home. I've tried various mentaiko before, but I still think Fukuya's is the best. The karashi takana was mildly spicy. There was quite a lot of food, so towards the end, I mainly focused on the takana and egg. The rice and nori were average. Since it's an onigiri, I wish there was a bit more attention to detail. Overall, it felt like a bit of a luxurious breakfast for 650 yen. The Fukuya's mentaiko is a taste that I think all tourists should try as it represents the true flavor of Fukuoka residents. The pricing seems fair, considering that.

I tried a shop near the hotel where I stayed. It was in the morning on a weekday. "Pota-tama" seems to be a combination of pork and scrambled eggs. Their specialty is a rice ball sandwich with spam (pork) and thick scrambled eggs. The menu photos show the vibrant colors of spam (red), scrambled eggs (yellow), rice (white), and seaweed (black). Most of the customers were young women. The basic "Pota-tama" is 390 yen, with just spam and scrambled eggs. You can add toppings like spicy cod roe mayo, pickled greens, or plum paste for 440 yen. There is also a special topping version with shrimp tempura, bitter melon tempura, etc., at a higher price. I ordered the spicy cod roe mayo for 440 yen. The rice was fluffy and delicious. The scrambled eggs were pre-cooked, and the spam was pre-cut. I didn't have high expectations watching the cooking process, but surprisingly, it was delicious. Maybe it was because the rice was so good. Thank you for the meal.

Today's first meal was at "Pota-tama Kushi-da Omotesando" where I ordered the following: Pota-tama (390 yen) - This is the same one I bought at the airport in Okinawa! Simple and delicious, with spam and egg sandwiched in onigiri style. The saltiness of the spam and the fluffy egg are really good and tasty. Ebi Taru (600 yen) - Oh, this is the good stuff! Shrimp with tartar sauce, delicious for sure. The tartness and richness of the tartar sauce are irresistible! Really delicious. I ate a hearty meal in the morning, even though I'm on a diet. The staff was very polite and handled foreign customers well. They also interacted with delivery drivers with a smile, which was very impressive. There were a lot of delivery orders coming in, even in the morning. By the way, they have stores in Tokyo too. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the Po'tamakushi Hidari Omotesando store. I ordered the mentama and mozuku soup set for 950 yen including tax. The combination of spam and mentaiko tamago with onigiri was exquisite and delicious. Please note that you may have to wait for about 20 minutes during busy times.

I searched for breakfast near Hakata Station and found this shop. It's great that they open early in the morning. I went there right away. The store looks clean, maybe it's newly opened. The staff were dressed in a traditional Japanese style outfit. I ordered a rice ball with mentaiko, egg, takana, and spam, as well as one with just takana and spam. They made it fresh on the spot and I received it quickly. The rice portion was a bit small. It didn't have the same unity as a typical rice ball, each ingredient felt separate. However, with these ingredients, it couldn't taste bad. The prices range from 300 to 800 yen, which I found a bit expensive. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

The restaurant was not crowded, with only one other group of customers. I usually like dishes with bitter melon tempura, but since I was in Fukuoka, I decided to try their Fukuoka-exclusive dish which was a tamagoyaki sandwich with mentaiko (spicy cod roe). The "Hakata Men-tama Mentaiko" looked like it had a lot of mentaiko in it, but the flavor was not very strong. The spam was also thinner than I expected, and overall, the dish lacked a cohesive taste. It was a bit disappointing. I don't think it's worth a special trip, but it could be a good option for a light snack when you're feeling hungry. Thank you for the meal.

On the last day of the 3-day weekend, I visited the restaurant in the morning and it took about 15 minutes for the food to be served. There were a lot of takeout orders, and it seemed like the crowd was still manageable. The staff, a group of brisk and cheerful ladies, may come off as a bit too assertive for some people. They had a few limited menu items, including mentaiko, which was satisfying. However, it cost ¥950, which I always find to be quite expensive. Also, it's a bit difficult to eat. Despite all this, I find myself going back there again for some reason.

I have only eaten at this popular restaurant for takeout in the morning, but they also have tables inside where you can eat right away. Today, I had the Hakata Mentama. Everything is delicious, but personally, I love this one! It's a must-try for mentaiko lovers! ^ - ^

Also, they have a wide variety of items, so I end up going back many times to try different flavors.
