The menu is quite extensive, with a variety of options available for the weekday lunch menu. Prices range from around 1000 yen to 1500 yen, slightly higher than typical set meals. One of the highlights of this restaurant is the selection of side dishes that come with the set meals. There are many options available in the counter or refrigerated case, adding an element of excitement to the meal. This time, I chose the fried horse mackerel and sweet and sour chicken as my side dishes. I ordered the minced cutlet set meal from the weekday lunch menu. The juicy meat was delicious and went well with the rice. The fried horse mackerel and chicken were also tasty, and I was tempted to ask for a refill of rice. Although the price is a bit high, it is satisfying enough. Many customers were dining alone. The bright and clean interior with parking space for 3 cars was also nice. The interior of the restaurant has a lot of counter and table seating, and it is very clean. They have both paper menus and boards with a variety of menu items. The menu had so many options that I had a hard time deciding, but I ended up choosing the signature "Oumaru Set Meal" (1,300 yen including tax). The set meal came with two main dishes and the option to choose a side dish, such as the salmon shown in the photo. I was surprised by the portion size and the fact that they even included salmon as a side dish, which is usually a main dish in other restaurants. They even reheat it for you. The main dish of the Oumaru Set Meal was grilled beef, which was tender and delicious. The sauce had a unique flavor with a hint of pepper that complemented the meat well. The simmered vegetable assortment included large cuts of taro, bamboo shoots, thick fried tofu, eggplant, carrots, pumpkin, and lotus root, all of which were well-seasoned and tasty. Located in a corner of an area filled with condominiums, "Oumaru Shokudo" is a small, stylish restaurant with 20 table seats and 5 counter seats. The building where the restaurant used to be located was replaced by a condominium about 5 years ago, which also led to a new look for the restaurant. While one might typically associate a teishoku restaurant with ginger pork, I was in the mood for vegetables that day. Unfortunately, the "miso-stir-fried eggplant" that I wanted to order was already sold out. Instead, the staff recommended the "Oumaru Teishoku," which includes a variety of simmered vegetables and meat. I started with the "simmered vegetable assortment," which included radish, pumpkin, taro, lotus root, and other root vegetables, as well as bamboo shoots and thick fried tofu. It was beautifully simmered and garnished with green beans. Next, the "grilled meat" surprised me with its thick slices of meat, about 5mm thick, cooked in a sauce that complemented the flavor of the meat. The teishoku menu also allows you to choose from nearly 30 small side dishes prepared on the counter and in the refrigerator. I was surprised to find shrimp fry among the choices, but ultimately went with the kinpira and ohitashi. I also ordered a separate dish of "stir-fried garlic chives with eggs," which was served with a perfect balance of softness and flavor.

The main dish of the "Oumaru Set Meal" is grilled meat, with two side dishes, simmered vegetables, broccoli & tomato as the side dishes, miso soup, and rice. The special sauce for the grilled meat is delicious, enhancing the flavor of the beef. The horse mackerel in the "Fried Horse Mackerel Set Meal" may be small, but it is fresh and tasty when dipped in mayonnaise and eaten with rice. The side dishes we chose were simmered vegetables and simmered eggplant. The simmered vegetables were lightly seasoned with dashi, giving a hint of reduced saltiness. The eggplant was also lightly seasoned with a flavorful dashi broth. The freshly cooked white rice was very delicious.
