We had made a reservation for Golden Week last year, but the hotel closed due to the state of emergency. This time, we made a reservation six months in advance for a revenge trip. We made sure to follow proper infection prevention measures ourselves and the hotel also had good measures in place. We stayed in a Japanese-Western style room, which was very spacious. Our child suddenly started a food battle. We followed the rules at the buffet: wearing masks, eating quietly, and wearing gloves. The photo shows just a part of the food we ate; we ate even more during our two-night, three-day stay. We enjoyed sushi made right in front of us and tempura fried right before our eyes. Our child mainly ate steak and chocolate towers. The steak was best when eaten fresh. The crab was the most popular dish, but there were also roast beef and deer meat dishes. We were happy with the selection, especially the salmon roe, and even had yakisoba for breakfast. We ate too much. There were many services for children, which was nice. On a side note, the bath was almost like a private bath and very relaxing.

On the second night, we stayed at Shiretoko Daiichi Hotel~ I originally wanted to stay at a different hotel but couldn't get a reservation, so we had to give up. My partner and I were exhausted from all the traveling. We rested in our room before heading to the buffet, which was quite late. The venue was very spacious, and I was surprised by the number of people. I mainly chose sushi, roast beef, and crab for my meal. To be honest, I didn't have high expectations for the food, so the taste was just average. The roast beef tasted like it had been injected with fat, it was quite artificial. I hope the sushi and crab are better. The hot springs had various types and were spacious, which was nice. The breakfast had a wide variety of options that made me excited. The French toast was delicious. I think this hotel is more suitable for families and young people.

The restaurant buffet at Shiretoko Daiichi Hotel exceeded my expectations with its variety and quality. Although not shown in the photos, the crab was also excellent. The legs were filled with plenty of meat, unlike the typical empty ones found in all-you-can-eat buffets. It may be a bit difficult to access the location, but I would love to visit again.

Staying at the same hotel for multiple nights can get a bit boring when it comes to meals, so we decided to switch to Shiretoko Daiichi Hotel for the second night. I made the reservation through J, and we stayed in a Japanese-Western style room at the Shizenkan, which was 52 square meters and non-smoking. The package included 90 minutes of all-you-can-drink two types of draft beer, and dinner was a buffet at Marskoi. The total cost for two people was 44,660 yen, but after applying the Go To Travel discount and local coupons, the actual price came down to just over 22,000 yen. We checked in and headed straight to the communal bath. It was crowded and not very appealing, so I didn't take any photos this time. However, I must mention that the view from the outdoor bath was quite nice. For dinner, we headed to the dining hall for the buffet starting at 19:15. We quickly scanned the food options, put on disposable vinyl gloves, and started eating. My companion ended up with about 7 crab legs, but struggled to eat them properly, so I had to help out with that. I enjoyed the sake-friendly dishes like hokke rice sushi, sweet and sour pickled herring, and icefish salad. The flow ice curry looked impressive but was actually quite easy to eat with a nice spice level. I also tried the nigiri sushi selections, opting for enagawa and yuba, then left it to the sushi chef to recommend the remaining three pieces, which turned out to be red shrimp, tsubu, and bigeye tuna. The all-you-can-drink option was priced at 2,900 yen per person for 90 minutes, but I had already included it in my package, so I couldn't use the local coupons for it. I ordered plenty of beer, but I learned that it's better to order ahead when the place is busy. The next morning, we had breakfast on the second floor, which featured scallop rice and an abundance of eggs. The bamboo grass roll bread and kelp noodles were interesting, but the best dish was the scallop and squid asparagus stir-fry, which was delicious both in the morning and the night before. The smoothies (pineapple and melon) were extremely cold – my companion drank it too quickly and ended up with a headache. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, I would recommend this hotel to buffet lovers. Thank you for a pleasant stay.

When it comes to buffets, Shiretoko Daiichi Hotel is the place to be! Unlimited snow crab is pure happiness, but they also offer freshly fried tempura, sushi made by skilled chefs, tempura made to order, pasta made to order, freshly grilled steak, and crepes made to order. It was a truly blissful buffet experience!

On the second day of my trip to Eastern Hokkaido, I stayed at Shiretoko Daiichi Hotel. It's a hotel with a great view located on a hill. After taking a bath, I headed straight to the buffet area since I had some free time in the afternoon. I ate like a middle school student (laughs). The hotel has a large and diverse bath, and the steak was tender and the other meals were quite delicious. Well, I was really hungry (laughs). Thank you for taking care of me.

What an amazing experience! Shiretoko was fantastic! I wish there was a hotel of this level near Sapporo... The variety of dishes was impressive. Each dish was carefully prepared, not just a wide selection of sausages or the like! Some of the highlights were the anglerfish sushi, anglerfish tempura with yuba sushi, drift ice curry (blue), raclette cheese, and smoothies. The live demonstrations for tempura sushi, crepes, raclette cheese, cotton candy, shaved ice, and yuba sushi were surprisingly delicious. The raclette cheese live demonstration was particularly impressive! It took a lot of effort, but it was worth the wait. The smoothie was made with 100% frozen fruit, which was very generous and incredibly delicious. I also ordered a ginger ale, which was extremely carbonated and delicious. The cotton candy and shaved ice were available for takeout to enjoy in the room (for guests). It felt like a small festival. The meat was tender and tasty overall. Not related to food, but the room was spacious and clean, the hair dryer had a strong airflow, and there was even a leave-in treatment provided. The best! Oh, and the breakfast with live demonstration French toast was so flavorful and creamy, I think it was even better than Hotel Okura's. I would love to go back again. I wonder if there are any hotels at this price range that can surpass this one.

Located on the western side of the Shiretoko Peninsula in the Utoro district, this self-proclaimed 5-star hotel (the meaning of "5-star" is unclear) is quite a large establishment that welcomes group tours. The rooms are spacious tatami rooms with comfortable beds. While many tatami rooms lack a desk for professional internet users, this hotel had one, although it was slightly low in height, making it difficult to sit comfortably. The washbasin is spacious and reminiscent of a model room from a bygone era, surprisingly functional and roomy. The fairly large bathroom was also provided, although ultimately unused due to the presence of a communal bath. The toilet was in a separate room from the bathroom, giving a homely feel rather than a hotel-like atmosphere. Dinner was served in a buffet style, with average quality and nothing particularly outstanding. However, the crab was decent, leading to a crab-eating and sake-drinking spree in the later part of the meal, as humorously pointed out by my wife. Compared to yesterday's "Tsuruga Wings", this hotel lacks stylishness but excels in cleanliness and well-maintained interiors. The spacious communal bath is akin to a small health resort. At a price of around 10,000 yen per night with two meals included, this hotel may be considered a decent option.

Dinner and breakfast were both buffet style. I was happy to see crab at dinner. There were also Western dishes available, but what surprised me was the blue soup? When I tried it, I realized it was curry inspired by drift ice. I had to try it, and it was blue but tasted like curry, making me feel strangely intrigued. For breakfast, there was oden, which was much appreciated on a cold day and tasted delicious. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious.

A photo came up, so this is a memo from June 2016. On my trip to the northern land, I stayed at the "Shiretoko Daiichi Hotel" for one night. At that time, I chose a package that included two meals, which I probably wouldn't do now. As per the reviews from JTB, the room and bath were spacious, and both meals were buffet style with a good variety of dishes. I was satisfied with the content. Thank you for taking care of me.

Marusukoi was really great. The hotel was spacious and crowded but it didn't bother me at all.

This is my fourth time coming here. Whenever I go to Shiretoko, I always use this place. The food and service always satisfy me whenever I visit. I also look forward to seeing the wildlife photos displayed in the lobby every time. The room cleaning is always done well, making it a comfortable space, combined with the natural beauty, it creates a unique experience that can only be found here. I will definitely use this place again next time.

Dinner and day trip bathing set plan for adults is 4000 yen. The hotel is very luxurious. The buffet restaurant in the hotel is called Marscoy. Most of the guests are Chinese. The staff are Japanese, Southeast Asian, and Chinese. There is a wide variety of Chinese cuisine, as well as Japanese dishes like soba, sushi, and tempura. They also serve ramen and raclette from Hanabatake Farm. The food is delicious, but it's not a place you would go out of your way to visit while traveling in Hokkaido. It's more convenient if you stay overnight. The bath is spacious and luxurious. They provide everything except towels. The women's bath seems to have cleansing and skincare products available (according to my wife).
