I had always wanted to try Ichiran, but I always avoided it because of the long lines. Finally, I went there! I had to wait for 30 minutes...^^; The tonkotsu ramen was exactly as I expected, and the thin noodles were amazing! I want to go again, but I wonder if there is a store where I don't have to wait in line...

This was my first time at Ichiran. I went around 7pm and waited for about 30 minutes. There were many tourists, and few Japanese people. The red sauce in the middle was spicy, so if you don't like spicy food, it's recommended to go easy on it. I would like to go again for sure.

One Ramen is a familiar spot for everyone. I haven't been there much lately because there are always long lines of foreign tourists, but when I visited early in the day, the line was surprisingly short so I decided to go in. In the past, they only accepted cash, but this store has adapted to the times and now accepts QR codes and cards in some cases. Today, I decided to redeem a large number of vouchers through the app. The restaurant was mostly filled with noisy foreign customers, but that's part of the charm. Once seated, the ramen arrived in less than 5 minutes. The rich soup with the spicy secret sauce is irresistible. Sometimes I feel like my stomach doesn't agree with this ramen, but I still crave it occasionally. It would be nice if it were a bit calmer, but it's still good for an occasional visit. Thank you for the meal!

I suddenly felt the urge to eat ramen! Walking around Hankyu area, I saw a sign I haven't seen in a while! There were many foreigners lining up, so I realized that the situation with COVID has calmed down. I planned to go when the line was shorter, around 4 pm. I entered smoothly! It was my first time at this store, and it had quite a few seats! It was a ticket system at the entrance, where I purchased my order and filled out my preferences on the order form! I added a half serving of extra noodles and some garlic in a spicy broth. The staff explained everything nicely, even though I couldn't see their face behind the curtain. The sweet pork bone soup with spicy miso was a great combination! The straight, thin noodles were just right, allowing me to savor the taste after a long time! Thank you for the meal!

Coco-chan's project brand Tonkatsu is not suitable for consecutive meals, and the 6th stop of the "Not Suitable for Consecutive Meals" club is here. Just before, we went to a pork bone ramen place together, and opinions were divided on whether the taste was similar to Ichiran. I personally think it's different! But ramen lover Coco-chan didn't back down. Then, a wonderful suggestion came to go to Ichiran right away and compare. So we moved. At first, we couldn't find it around here... so we even searched online and finally arrived. *My true thoughts: We don't have to force ourselves to find it... (because I'm already full). And! We even came to the restaurant's eye-catching painting together, and then parted ways! Only I will eat. Coco-chan has to take care of her cat at home, so she's busy. *Sigh... After a long time, I focused on the taste at the counter. I wrote down the ramen I wanted to eat on paper and ordered the Ramen for 980 yen (tax included). *It's just the normal ramen, but it didn't quite hit the 1000 yen mark. I chose the firmness of the noodles (I chose firm) and followed the restaurant's recommendation. The taste of that ramen, which I ate after a long time, was... The soup is sweet, or rather, sweet. The red secret sauce on top is quite spicy, and the balance is good! *If it's this spicy, I wanted to go all the way to the MAX... *But that wouldn't be a fair comparison. And the noodles... Oh, they're quite powdery. *In a way, it's like Hakata-style. As a result of the comparison, the pork bone ramen I ate just before and Ichiran were completely different! Leaving that aside, it was delicious. *Considering the price, the satisfaction level is so-so. Thank you for the meal. Side Note 1: Coco-chan probably likes ramen in general but doesn't like rich pork bone ramen. Side Note 2: So all pork bone ramen places seem the same to her. Side Note 3: It turned out that it wasn't really about Ichiran.

I felt like going to Ichiran after a long time and visited. I crave it occasionally. I ordered it extra firm. The soup is rich as usual. The noodles are firm and delicious (of course, since I ordered extra firm). I also had the usual extra noodles (also extra firm) before leaving.

I went to Ichiran Umeda Shibata store near Osaka Station and ordered ramen with a half-boiled egg and extra noodles. I chose thick soup and firm noodles. It had been a long time since I last visited Ichiran, but the simple tonkotsu ramen was delicious as always. I especially liked the thinness of the noodles. The extra noodles satisfied my hunger.

After work, I had a quick ramen at Ichiran! It's been a while since I went there. I opted for the red spicy sauce, but since I don't like spicy food, I asked for it to be omitted. I was tired, so the rich flavor of the ramen really hit the spot. I sat at the counter for one person, so I could eat without worrying about others around me. ✌︎✨

Ippudo is often underestimated due to its poor cost performance, but the rich pork bone soup it offers has a depth of flavor that cannot be found elsewhere. I recommend savoring a bowl of this soup with green onions. It should be dangerously delicious and satisfying. The chili pepper adds a nice accent, enhancing the soup's flavor. You can adjust the level of spiciness, but even at 10 times the normal amount, it's not overly spicy, with a hint of sweetness. The restaurant remains popular, so expect crowds on weekend afternoons, especially with many students. I highly recommend trying it out. Just be aware that the extra noodle refill is still expensive at around 200 yen. The regular noodle portion is small, so you may find the extra refill necessary.

I visited "Ichiran Umeda Shibata Store" in Osaka for work. The location is closest to Hankyu Umeda Station. The restaurant is located on the basement floor of a building along the elevated railway tracks. I visited on a weekday around 1 pm. There was no waiting line, so I entered the restaurant right away. I purchased a ticket at the ticket machine near the entrance. I chose the most basic ramen for 980 yen and added a half portion of noodles for 150 yen, totaling 1,130 yen. When I visited the Umeda Hankyu Higashidori Store (formerly Umeda Store) in 2013, the ramen was 790 yen, so I felt like the price had increased by more than 20%... After purchasing the ticket, I was guided to a seat at the counter where I could focus on the taste. I was given an order sheet to specify my preferences for soup richness, richness, garlic, spiciness level, char siu, green onions (green/white), and noodle firmness. I filled out the sheet and handed it to the staff member at the counter. Ichiran has had this system even before the pandemic, probably to encourage customers to fully enjoy the taste. It unexpectedly became a perfect model for social distancing during the pandemic. Above the counter, there are many details about Ichiran's commitment. While waiting for the ramen, I filled my water cup and waited. The staff brought the ordered ramen, and the curtain in front of me opened. After the ramen was served, the staff bowed deeply to the side. I started with the soup. You can see the fat floating on the surface, but when you taste it, it's light yet rich in pork bone flavor. This is the taste of Ichiran. Mixing the spicy seasoning in the center adds a nice kick of spiciness. The noodles are very thin and straight, easy to eat. The toppings are simple, with char siu and green onions. I personally like the combination of thin char siu and flavorful soup. It's been a while since I had Ichiran's ramen, and I can feel the difference in richness compared to other Hakata ramen shops like Ippudo and Ikko Sha. When considering value for money, Ichiran may be a bit behind these other two shops. Thank you for the meal.

"At Ichiran Umeda Shibata Store in Osaka, the natural tonkotsu ramen costs 980 yen. I ordered mine with a preference for strong flavor, extra rich, garlic base, secret sauce at half amount, and extra firm noodles. It is important to note that making it extra rich may result in it being overly greasy due to the light base. The noodles lack a good bite, so opting for extra firm may be just right. Personally, I find the flavor intensity of normal, rich, and firm to be the best. I need to confirm this at other branches. The emergency notice posted in the restroom is unique and quite amusing. The menu consists of one natural tonkotsu ramen. The first thing that surprises you is the seating arrangement. Each person has their own table space with a curtain in front of them and a special paper to indicate their preferences. While it's common to be asked about the firmness of the noodles, here you can choose from 5 levels for 7 different aspects such as taste intensity and richness. This time, I ordered the natural tonkotsu ramen without any toppings, sticking to the basics. The price is a basic 980 yen. Just by looking at the flat appearance, you can tell it's Ichiran. The red one in the middle is the strong one... a secret red sauce made from over 30 ingredients, based on chili peppers and aged. It's best to first enjoy the noodles and soup from the edge, then gradually mix in the red sauce to savor the flavor. To maintain quality, there's a rule that you must pour the soup into the bowl and add the noodles within 30 seconds. Ichiran Umeda Shibata Store.

After visiting the high school my eldest son will be taking the entrance exam for, we met up in Umeda for lunch. We originally planned to go to a different barber shop, but it was full, so we ended up choosing a more traditional chain restaurant, Ichiran. The green and red sign of the "specializing in natural tonkotsu ramen" shop always triggers a craving for pork bone broth in my brain. After waiting in line for about 10 minutes, we struggled with the ticket machine to order our ramen. Wow! The ramen costs ¥980, and an extra serving of noodles costs ¥210!! Twenty years ago, when I was just starting out as a working adult and was first taken to this place by a colleague in Fukuoka, the prices were relatively high even back then. It used to be that you could only get this kind of ramen in Fukuoka, but now it's more accessible, although the prices have gone up. Despite the average salary of Japanese people being stagnant for over 10 years... The original order form is handed to you while waiting in line inside the restaurant. I ordered mine with "rich flavor, extra rich, one clove of garlic, green onions, with chashu, double the secret sauce, and firm noodles." After purchasing our meal tickets, we were guided to our seats (those familiar individual booths for concentrating on the taste) in about 10 more minutes, and our ramen was served from behind the counter where we couldn't see the chef's face. Voila! The thin noodles that are one of the defining characteristics of Hakata ramen! It was nostalgic. However, after not having it for a while, I now find the "rich flavor" to be even richer, perhaps because I've aged ( ̄∀ ̄). The unwavering deliciousness of their commitment to quality. But my body and wallet can't keep up. Life is full of irony, isn't it?

About 20 years ago, I went to Ichiran in Hakata and fell in love with tonkotsu ramen because it was so delicious. Since then, I haven't had the chance to go back, but happened to stop by this area for some business. I arrived at 7:30 pm and was the 5th person in line. I waited for about 10 minutes and then sat at the counter. I had already filled out the order form while waiting, so I handed it in along with my payment. I wasn't sure what the default toppings were, so I just circled the marinated green onions and two thin slices of char siu. It was a very simple topping for 980 yen, which seemed a bit pricey considering the contents. The soup seemed light at first, but it gradually became delicious. I wish I had added more of the spicy sauce. The broth was not too salty, and most importantly, it had no unpleasant smell. Some people may enjoy that smell, but I prefer it without. After drinking for several days in a row, my stomach was a bit tired, but I feel like I can regain my energy with the collagen in the soup. However, it's still a bit expensive.

After many years, I visited Ichiran again. The unique taste-focused counter. The sound of the late-night ramen rattle can be heard♪ The environment for eating ramen is significantly taken care of. Although I couldn't see their faces, the staff working behind the counter were polite, energetic, and left a very good impression. It must be thanks to the excellent leadership skills of the manager that they have been raised so well. It's already delicious at that point, but what I particularly thought about after going for the first time in a while is that the noodles are delicious! The price is a bit high for ramen, but it's a reasonable price considering the investment in facilities and maintaining quality. I will visit again soon. Thank you for the meal^ ^

The ramen was very delicious. The seats were separated for each person, which may be good for going alone, but a bit lonely for going with family or friends. The prices were a bit high. But I would like to go again.

I still often see long lines forming on the stairs. The last time I visited was on 2017.10.28. It is often said that the prices are high, but the pork bone soup is delicious so I feel like going there occasionally. The noodles are very thin, so for fans, extra noodles are a must, but I don't get extra noodles at any ramen shop. Here, you can get extra noodles 14 times in 30 minutes.

This time was light. + Wood ear mushrooms + Soft-boiled egg + Green onions A few more people are starting to come in. There are empty seats but they're being noisy next to me. There's a sign asking to keep conversations down. This place is enclosed so it's a concern for me. (I softened the expression quite a bit, so what?)

The restaurant used to have a long line of foreigners, but now there are not many customers waiting. That's because it's no longer the Ichiran that I know. The prices seem to have gone up, I was surprised. I haven't eaten here recently, so maybe they raised the prices? I tried it and the taste is the same. I ordered it firm with less garlic, and it had the familiar flavor. But I can't pay 1000 yen for a bowl of ramen.

- Normally, this place is crowded, but due to COVID, it was empty and comfortable. You can sit with space between each other.
- I wonder if this place is more expensive than other shops because a regular bowl of ramen costs ¥980. I had accumulated vouchers, so I added extra green onions, egg, and vinegar, and also got an extra serving of noodles. The taste completely changes, but surprisingly, the vinegar mixed with spiciness is good.
