128th! The shop I was curious about ~ CICOUTE BAKERY ~ [Purchased items] ・Prosciutto and Comte cheese baguette sand 640 yen ・An butter 390 yen ・Rustic / Marron glace 350 yen ・Red apple and peanut paste tartine 450 yen (tax included) The shop is famous for its delicious hard bread, and it's true. The baguette itself has a strong taste of wheat, crispy on the outside and moist inside. It's delicious, especially with prosciutto and Comte cheese added. All the bread I bought was delicious. It's no wonder there's always a line. The shop has a wide variety of hard bread, from campagne to baguettes, rustic bread, and even some unique ones I've never seen before. I want to try them all! Highly recommended for everyone. It's worth waiting in line! Line information: On Saturdays in December, arrived 40 minutes before opening and there were already 15 people waiting! Wow! By opening time, there were 25 people waiting. Due to COVID-19 measures, they only allow one person in at a time, so the turnover is very slow. Entered the shop just before noon. Waited for a total of about 1 hour. It's probably necessary to wait in line on weekends. (For your reference.) Shop information: Address: 3-9-5 Minamiosawa, Hachioji City, Tokyo Access: 12-minute walk from Minamiosawa Station Business hours: 11:30-16:30 Closed: Mondays, Tuesdays, and irregular holidays Payment: Cash, Credit card (VISA, Master) Tabelog: Ranked among the top 5 bread shops (2022, 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017) #CICOUTEBAKERY #CICOUTEBAKERY #TokyoGourmet #TokyoBread #TokyoLunch #TokyoMorning #HachiojiBread #HachiojiGourmet #HachiojiMorning #HachiojiLunch #MinamiosawaGourmet #Minamiosawa #MinamiosawaMorning #MinamiosawaLunch #Morning #Lunch #Bakery #PopularShop #FamousShop #HighlyRatedOnTabelog #TabelogBread4th #Recommended

Visited the 100th store on my tour of Tokyo's top 100 stores, which was Chikut Bakery! It's located about a 10-minute walk from Minamiosawa Station, and there was a long line even before it opened. I arrived about 10 minutes before opening time on a Saturday and was able to get in around 12:00, so I think I was lucky. I bought a lot of items and I'm looking forward to trying them out!

In search of delicious bread, I visited this bakery in Minamiosawa as part of my quest to visit 100 famous bakeries. It was located in a residential area a short walk from the station. It was my first time visiting Minamiosawa by train. I arrived in the morning and waited in line for about 30 minutes to make a purchase! The liver paste sandwich was of exceptional quality and unlike anything I have tasted elsewhere. I would love to visit again if I have the chance!

First of all, I was quite lost on my way there. Huh? I even doubted if this was the right place, haha. It's a bakery located in a corner of an old public housing shopping street. Even on a weekday at lunchtime under the scorching sun, there was a long line. They specialize in hard-type bread made with homemade yeast. When it's your turn, you start at the sandwich corner on the right side, and then move on to the brown bread corner. The outside is crispy and the inside is packed with flavor. The hard bread is full of wheat flavor the more you chew. I think it's the number one bakery in the Tama area. You must wait in line, but please try it out.

I went to the nearby outlet and stopped by for lunch in the afternoon. There were about 5 customers waiting in line. Inside the store, there were a few seats where you could eat. There were many types of hard bread lined up, and they were all delicious. The raisin bread was particularly tasty. I didn't have a sandwich this time, so I definitely want to try it next time.

When I went to the outlet in Minamiosawa, there was a popular bakery that always had a long line. The bread is very hard, but the inside is soft and as you chew, the strong flavors of yeast and wheat come out, making it delicious. The French toast was also hard but delicious, with the batter soaked in well. The chocolate was generously filled to the edges, and walnuts and pistachios were scattered throughout, making it a satisfying bread.

Long time no see, CICOUTE BAKERY! The eat-in option is back, so of course I'll sit down. I'm excited to eat delicious food while it's still fresh. It's a bit late, so there might not be much left, but as I look at the menu outside, I get excited thinking about what to choose. Inside, there are only 3 sandwich options left. I chose the eggplant and hummus. The bread is delicious, but the vegetables are also tasty! As a fan of eggplant, I appreciate how they cooked it so well. The bread has a nice color and rich flavor, made with natural spelt wheat from Mr. Nakagawa, baguette mais, ginger, anchovy olive, scones, and more. I wanted to buy some sandwich bread too, but I remembered they have a kiosk and I wasn't sure about the freezer situation. So I gave up on that for now. However, my desire to eat more doesn't stop. After finishing the sandwich, I added some French toast for dessert, cut into small pieces and sold by weight. The petite Chiku-san working diligently in front of the oven with her unchanged, straight gaze is still beautiful. A lovely sight. There's something different about bread made by women that has a masculine touch. I'll definitely come back to see this beloved view again!

I stopped by because I was nearby, but I never expected to wait for a whole hour under the scorching sun. I thought the line would move a bit faster since everyone was lining up, but I was wrong. You enter from the right door to order a sandwich, then exit and re-enter from the left door to choose from a wide selection of hard bread. It takes time to choose because there are so many delicious-looking breads. But, it was so delicious! My jaw got tired from chewing on the hard but tasty breads. I don't want to wait for an hour again, but I definitely want to go back!

I love this bakery so much. I go there repeatedly. The bread at Chikute has an amazing aroma! Before going, I always check their Instagram. The sandwich bread sells out quickly, so if you want to make sure you get some, it's best to line up at opening time. They continue to bake fresh bread in the afternoon, so you can enjoy delicious bread no matter what time you go! My favorite is the Black Cherry and Cream Cheese, which is available in the afternoon. I buy extra baguettes, slice them, and freeze them. The red bean butter is also delicious! The red bean and fermented butter combination is irresistible. Limited to one per person.

Keio Sagamihara Line, Minamiosawa Station, a 15-minute walk from the station, there is a bakery called Chikutte Bakery located in the residential area. It was a scorching hot day, so I decided to drive to the bakery instead of walking up the steep hill to the residential area. Arriving at the free parking lot next to the store at 10:50 am on a weekday, there was already a line of 7 people in the intense sunlight! By the time the store opened at 11:30 am, there were already 20 people lined up behind me. When the store opened, the first two people entered and chose sandwiches from the refrigerated case before stepping outside to select bread from the regular bakery section. Customers were called into the store one by one as others left. When it was my turn, I entered and purchased the following items: Ham and Cheese Baguette for 640 yen, Black Sugar Macadamia Baguette for 380 yen, Mango Petit for 310 yen, and Rustic Blueberry for 260 yen, totaling 1590 yen. The Ham and Cheese Baguette was a simple sandwich with ham and cheese between a baguette, suitable for lunch. I wished it had some lettuce in it. The Black Sugar Macadamia Baguette was a horseshoe-shaped baguette with black sugar kneaded into the dough and packed with macadamia nuts. The slightly sweet and crunchy nuts were delicious in the firm baguette dough. This was my favorite among the items I purchased. The Mango Petit was a soft bread filled with dried mango, honey, and cream cheese. The Rustic Blueberry was a chewy bread filled with large blueberries. It was a delicious meal.

【2023/8/12】During the Obon period, I felt like there were fewer people lining up, but it turned out to be just my imagination. I still had to wait for an hour. ◆Kaku Shokupan (square loaf bread)◆Yumeakari butterbread cream cheese 【2023/4/13】I didn't make it in time for the freshly baked bread, but I'm happy because I also enjoy the hard types. Even if I arrive 40 minutes before opening on a weekday, I still have to line up. It's truly a popular shop. ◆C Bucket Cheese◆Creme Fromage◆Mango Puchi◆Bucket◆Chocolate & Cheese (scone) 【2023/2/15】I decided to try the scone after overhearing the conversation of the person behind me. The scone is delicious too. ◆Kaku Shokupan◆Creme Fromage◆Cheese Scone 【2022/10/26】I realized once again that weekdays are the best time to visit this place. ◆Kaku Shokupan◆C Bucket Cheese 【2022/6/5】I had an unexpected errand in Minamiosawa and it was already past 2:00 PM, so I thought it would be less crowded. I arrived at 3:30 PM, and even though there were 7 people waiting, I still had to wait for 30 minutes when I entered the shop. The variety of bread was limited, but I thought this way of shopping was also nice. ◆Black Cherry Cheese◆Chestnut Stick 【2022/6/3】I took a day off, so I lined up 30 minutes before opening. Even though it was a weekday, I was already 12th in line, and by the time the shop opened, there were 36 people waiting. ◆Fresh Tomato and Comte Cheese Rustique◆An Butter◆Kaku Shokupan◆Creme Fromage◆Rustique Plain◆Mango Puchi I decided to try a sandwich for a change, and it was delicious. Since the square loaf bread was limited to one per person, I bought some other items as well. 【2022/5/19】I asked my husband, who had some business nearby, and managed to get the square loaf bread after a year. The square loaf bread is still delicious. It seems that the square loaf bread, which is limited to only 10 loaves a day, sells out faster on weekdays than on holidays. 【2022/5/5】I had completely forgotten about the two-hour wait from a year ago, but this time, I couldn't handle the two-hour wait today. ◆Kaku Shokupan 【2021/4/25】Best of KAKUSHOKU in HACHIOUJI It's true, but the two-hour wait today was just too much haha. ◆Kaku Shokupan 【2021/1/16】In order to buy, I have to wait for an hour, so I cheated because of the cold, but I still love Chic Te Bakery the most for their bread. ◆Kaku Shokupan

I still think the bread here is delicious! I came here after a long time, and despite the scorching sun, there were more than 10 people lined up before opening. I think many people come here by car from far away. I always buy the baguette here, but this time I bought the pizza and it was surprisingly delicious!!! Highly recommended.

Bakery specializing in bread and sandwiches, known for their hard bread and sandwiches. It's a popular shop with long lines every day. Surprisingly, they have a parking lot in Tokyo, which is rare. Customers need to order sandwiches first and then choose other items at the entrance, which is unusual. The small shop is packed with a variety of hard bread on display, creating a good impression and sparking the desire to purchase. However, this time the choice didn't go well, especially the banana sandwich was not tasty at all. The balance between the bread and filling was off, making it difficult to eat with the filling overflowing with each bite. I don't like products that are hard to eat. The purchased bread includes "Organic Nakagawa-san noah9 Muesli/Fruit" and "Banana and Peanut Butter Toast Sandwich".

This time, I went on a long journey to a bakery in Minamiosawa that always has long lines. I prefer hard bread! There was a huge line on a weekday afternoon - I couldn't believe how long it was. Finally, I got to buy a Rustic bread! Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of the bread, so I can't upload it this time. Personally, I think lining up might be tough in the summer, but it's recommended in spring or autumn. The bread was so hard that my jaw got tired, haha, but it was delicious! Overall rating: 4.0 or higher: I want to visit regularly and confidently recommend it to friends because it's so delicious. 3.8 or higher: I want to revisit and recommend it to friends because it's delicious. 3.7: There is a possibility of revisiting in the future because it's delicious. 3.6: It's delicious in a specialized way, or considering the cost performance, it's sufficiently delicious. 3.5: It's just delicious. 3.5 or lower: Not recommended.

Shop Name: Chikute Bakery Location: Minamiosawa Chikute Bakery is located in a small shopping street within a distant residential area from Minamiosawa Station. It took about 20 minutes by car from my home. Many people come by car to buy bread, as there is a parking lot available for the shopping street and parking is free. The bakery opens at 11:30, and when I arrived a bit early, I was surprised to see two lines already formed even before opening. I had to wait for over 40 minutes just to enter the store. It was my first time waiting in such a long line at a bakery. Surrounded by residential areas and with few other bakeries nearby, Chikute Bakery seems to be the only popular bakery known for its delicious hard bread in the area. I'm not a big fan of hard bread, so I chose softer bread options. I purchased a croque monsieur, an anpan, a fromage bread, and a sausage bread. The croque monsieur was incredibly delicious, with the cream sauce soaked into the hard bread just right and the seasoning was exquisite. The anpan, although hard, was soft and tasty. The fromage bread had plenty of cream cheese inside, and the soft bread had a chewy texture. There is also a seating area inside the bakery, so it's a nice place to enjoy a drink along with freshly baked bread. It was a trendy bakery cafe.

I waited in line for about 20 minutes on a hot day, which was quite tough. Only 2-3 groups were allowed inside at a time for checkout. When inside, we had to choose our bread quickly, and if there were more than 2 people in a group, only one person could stay for checkout while the others waited outside. We managed to get a table inside the store and decided to eat there. It was considered eating in, so a 2% consumption tax was added to the bill. They usually don't slice the bread for takeout, but they were willing to slice it for us since we were eating in.

This is a bakery in Minamiosawa! I had some errands in this area, so I decided to make a detour and check it out. The area around the station was bustling with a huge commercial facility, but within just a few minutes of walking, everything disappeared. I walked straight through the park and ended up in a shopping street inside a housing complex where I saw a lot of people lined up from afar. It turned out to be this bakery. There were about 30 people in line, mostly families or groups, so it was actually around 10 groups in total. I decided to join the line even though I couldn't see much of the inside of the store. After waiting for about an hour, I finally got in. The entrance and exit were on the right and left sides, and it seemed like you enter from the right for bread only and from the left for sandwiches. However, the system was not clear, and it caused some congestion when people were choosing sandwiches, blocking the exit. I eventually chose a sandwich with walnut without knowing the prices, as they were not clearly displayed. The sandwich had a generous spread of liver paste on one side and arugula on the other. The liver taste was subtle, making it suitable even for those who don't like liver. It was tasty, but lacked a bit of character for liver lovers. I also tried a mango petit, which had dried mango wrapped in cream cheese, but the fruitiness was not very strong. The cream cheese tended to fall apart, distracting from the taste. The ganache was a rich chocolate bread with a bitter taste, appealing to adults. Lastly, the French toast had a crispy texture resembling rusks, more suited for adults as well. Overall, the bakery had a unique selection of bread, different from typical neighborhood bakeries. The bread was delicious, but the overly attentive service focused on each customer caused long waiting times, especially under the scorching sun. A more efficient service approach might be more appreciated, as well as clearer instructions on the bread selection process.

I visited for the first time after 2 pm on a weekday. There were two groups ahead of me, but I was able to buy quickly. It is located inside a housing complex. There were seating areas inside and outside where you can eat. There is a parking lot, but it tends to be quite full. Since it was my first time, I wasn't sure about the variety of bread, but based on reviews, there were no sandwich-type bread or red bean butter. Perhaps they sell out early. There were quite a few types of hard bread. The bread I purchased was Raisin Bread for 920 yen, Baguette for 370 yen, and Scones (Cheese, Nuts) for 210 yen each. The Raisin Bread is small but heavy, and when sliced, it was filled with plenty of raisins. It was chewy and had a nice texture. Very delicious. The scones had walnuts for nuts and a hint of cheese for cheese. Both nuts and cheese had a sweet taste that became more pronounced as you chewed, and they were delicious! All the bread was delicious, and I would like to go back for more. Next time, I want to try the sandwich-type bread and red bean butter.

I arrived for my first visit at 12:20 and joined a waiting line of 10 people outside. The smell of freshly baked bread is wafting outside. After waiting for about 20 minutes, I entered the store and purchased a ham and cheese baguette for 640 yen. The dough has a firm texture, but the more you chew, the more the flavor seeps in. The salty ham and rich cheese flavors layer on top of each other, creating a very delicious taste. It's easy to see why it's so popular. Although it's a small size, it leaves a satisfying feeling after eating. I enjoyed it very much. Thank you for the meal!

I bought some pastries for the first time in a while. When I arrived just before opening, there were 15-16 people in line, and it took about 40 minutes to make a purchase. I bought anko butter sand, which had a perfect sweetness in the red bean paste, with a crispy outside and soft inside. The Lucien Tech marron glace had a gentle sweetness, and the cream fromage had delicious cheese. I usually don't like hard bread, but the baguette was very soft and tasty.

The store had a long line outside. The number of people allowed in at once was limited, so the line moved very slowly. They have many hard breads and the sandwich bread is also popular. I especially liked the hard bread with chestnuts. It's worth waiting in line for!
