This is a report on a popular restaurant in Chubetsu, Hokkaido called "Murakami Udon". I visited this place and it was also featured in a video by "Sakai Traveling in Hokkaido"! The parking lot in front of the restaurant can accommodate around 10 cars. When I visited around 12:10 on a weekday, there was a wait of about 10 minutes with 2 groups ahead of me, but the turnover was quick. Before entering the restaurant, there was a system where you get a ticket using a tablet for the waiting list. They also offer to notify you via LINE app so you can wait in your car. You can see the noodle-making room which shows the owner's dedication. Being listed in the 2017 Hokkaido Michelin Guide, the expectations were high. The interior had about 5 counter seats, 3 tables for 4, and a raised tatami area with tables for 4 and 2. For my first visit, I ordered the recommended dish which was the "Kamiten Tempura Set for 1,950 yen", "Carbonara Udon for 1,100 yen", and "Extra Rice for 165 yen". They also offered a "Welcome Milk" service before ordering, which was a rich and sweet milk. The dishes arrived in about 10 minutes and they looked delicious! The Carbonara Udon was topped with as much Chubetsu Gouda cheese as you like, and it was incredibly tasty with the creamy carbonara and soft-boiled egg. The Kamiten Tempura Set had high-quality tempura, especially the rare shrimp tempura which was incredibly sweet. The vegetables were also very delicious. The "Battera" rice was exceptional, not just typical of an udon specialty store. The chilled bukkake-style udon had a perfect texture and aroma of wheat. The side dishes and dessert were also delicious. I finished with the "Extra Rice" which was like a risotto and it was amazing. I would definitely recommend this udon restaurant for a revisit. It was a truly delicious meal! Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I went to Nakamura Udon in Nakashibetsu Town. I arrived at 11:10 am, just after they opened at 11:00 am, and it was already full. It's a popular place! I ordered the Tempura Set Meal for 1,750 yen. You can choose your rice, and I asked for tempura batter on mine. It was wonderful to be able to eat authentic Sanuki udon. The tempura was crispy and delicious! The texture of the udon noodles was truly different.

Second time at Murakami Udon. This time I had the tempura udon for 1,150 yen. The udon was served with broth on the side. The broth had a strong flavor and you could really taste the dashi. The udon here has a noticeable kelp flavor. My friend Yone, who is from Kansai, was impressed by the broth. The tempura was perfectly cooked with great ingredients. When I visited Kagawa on my Shikoku tour this year, Yone gave me some tips on how to enjoy Sanuki udon. She said the key is to first enjoy the broth with the "kake" style. I had a brief chat with the owner before leaving. He is originally from Kansai and his udon is a fusion of Shikoku and Kansai flavors, using his own original recipes with ingredients like bonito flakes and yuzu. The udon here has a strong foundation, which I could clearly taste with the "kake" style. Delicious udon can be found in Nakashibetsu!

I went to Ito-san for some spicy daikon radish grated over soba noodles without eating anything from Kiki Shiretoko Natural Resort. However, that wasn't enough for me. Honestly, I was torn between Ito-san and Murakami-san. So, without hesitation, I decided to go for a lunch hop. It was still before noon, but it was very popular. There was only one seat available at the counter, so I managed to slip in. I was planning to order the tempura set, but then I noticed a menu item for beef udon made with local beef. And it was a limited edition, only 5 servings available. Was it already sold out? But the menu was still out. So, I nervously asked, "Do you still have the beef udon?" And the answer was, "Yes, of course." Seriously! Lucky me! The udon had a perfect balance of firmness and softness. I cracked a raw egg and lifted the udon. Ah, I see! It's like "sukiyaki udon," right? I get it now! Impressive! They even let you add bonito broth to change the flavor. The rich beef was surprisingly light. Even though I had just eaten soba, I finished it all in no time. I got a bit sleepy from driving afterwards, so I took a nap. I want to try the carbonara and curry udon next time, whenever that may be.

Every time I came to this area, I was interested in this shop, but it was only open during lunch hours. After visiting a few times, I finally found the shop open. We had to wait for a few tables before we could enter. I ordered the recommended "Tempura Set Meal" for 1,750 yen. It was a hot day, so I chose the cold option for the udon. While waiting, two out of the three choices for the rice that came with the set were sold out, so I ended up with the remaining "Mini Squid Tempura Rice Bowl". The restaurant was busy with many staff members. The udon was served with grated daikon radish, green onions, seaweed, and tempura flakes as toppings. I poured the sauce over it and enjoyed the firm texture. The entrance of the shop mentioned that you can request a softer texture when ordering if you prefer. The tempura was served with salt. There were two shrimp tempura, eggplant, shiso leaf, carrot, sweet potato, pumpkin, and fish cake, all fried in rice oil, giving them a crispy and satisfying taste. The Mini Squid Tempura Rice Bowl also had a good flavor. There were also side dishes like namul, kelp, and dessert. I was really full by the end. As I looked back at the menu while eating, I noticed that the shrimp tempura in the picture was only one piece, but the dish served had two pieces. Similarly, the people sitting next to me who ordered the "Chicken Tempura Set Meal" had three pieces of chicken tempura instead of two in the picture. It was nice that they gave us extra tempura, and I was satisfied enough that I didn't have to worry about dinner.

Noodles with grooves that make it easy for the broth to stick to them, creating a delicious dish. The elegant seasoning was also good! Had lunch in Naka-Shibetsu. It wasn't a heavy meal, so I chose udon. The restaurant seemed relatively new, with a very clean interior. I ordered the cold beef udon (950 yen). The noodles had a good firmness, but were softer than those from Marugame. The unique feature was the grooves on the noodles, making it easier for the broth to stick. I've seen similar noodles at delicious Sanuki udon shops in Hakata, so it might be a trend in the Sanuki udon world. In any case, it seems like they are really putting effort into their research. The broth was delicious, made with a blend of kombu and bonito flakes. The meat was sweetly simmered beef belly, not too sweet, with a refined and tasty seasoning.

On the third and final day of my business trip to Shibetsu. It's already 2:30 in the afternoon. Since the soba I had for lunch yesterday was a disappointment, I decided to have udon today. The parking lot in front of the restaurant is spacious and easy to park. I ordered the Beef Udon set for 1,450 yen and changed the side of steamed rice to tempura. There are four staff members besides the head chef in this lively restaurant with a counter, table seats, and a raised tatami area, all managed by a total of five people. The interior is clean and nice. The udon noodles are smooth and not too firm. Unfortunately, the tempura didn't go well with it, which was my mistake for choosing it. It would have been better with the steamed rice. The only downside is the price. The set meal includes bean sprouts and yogurt besides rice, which makes it a bit pricey. A single bowl of udon is 950 yen, so I understand why the set meal is more expensive, but it's still a bit high. Next time, I'll try the tempura to enjoy it.

I finished work early today, so I decided to come to Murakami Udon. The parking lot was full, but I didn't have to wait long to get in! I ordered the "Special Curry Udon" today. The firm udon noodles are delicious. The tempura vegetables, chicken tempura, and burdock tempura are all tasty on their own, and the curry broth blends perfectly with the noodles. The texture of the udon and the toppings are excellent, making me want to come back again.

Visited the restaurant three times: 1. Ordered curry udon (1200 yen) and battera (330 yen). The curry udon was pretty good and I like the tempura. Added extra chicken tempura (495 yen) and rice (165 yen) as recommended by the staff, ending up overeating. Total cost was 2190 yen for two people. 2. Ordered meat udon (950 yen), burdock tempura (495 yen), and mini squid tempura bowl (330 yen). The broth of the meat udon was decent, tempura was crispy, but the mini squid tempura bowl was a bit salty. Total cost was 1775 yen, a bit on the expensive side. 3. Ordered Udon (800 yen) and chicken meatballs (400 yen, 400 yen if ordered with udon, 500 yen for individual order). The chicken meatballs came a bit late and had to confirm the order. The udon was served first, and then the chicken meatballs were brought separately, which needed to be poured over the noodles with sesame oil. The broth didn't have much flavor, and the chicken was dry. Total cost was 1200 yen.

As expected, this popular restaurant in Nakashibetsu had a bit of a wait. Despite it being a weekday, customers kept coming in. Once we placed our order, we were served a welcome drink of a small glass of milk. The milk was delicious! Now, onto the udon. Based on reviews, the tempura was highly praised, so I ordered the tempura udon (hot). The tempura was served separately, which was nice. I'm not a big fan of udon (I prefer soba), but I do enjoy Sanuki udon, so I was excited to try delicious Sanuki udon in Eastern Hokkaido. However, after taking a bite, my initial impression was "...huh? This is different than I expected." Maybe it was because I ordered it hot? It was much softer than I anticipated. I always thought that the appeal of Sanuki udon was its firm texture and good chewiness, but maybe I, not being used to udon, was mistaken? The broth was quite light, both in color and flavor. The tempura consisted of pumpkin, eggplant, shiso leaf, carrot, shrimp, and fish cake, with a variety of options and indeed quite tasty. The atmosphere of the restaurant was quite stylish, and the staff were very friendly. However, because the main point, the udon, didn't suit my taste, I have to give this rating.

The other day, I visited "Murakami Udon" for the first time in a while. I ordered the meat udon and the kashiwa nuki (udon with chicken and egg). Both dishes had a very refined and rich flavor. #MurakamiUdon #MurakamiUdonNakashibetsu #MeatUdon #KashiwaNuki #KashiwaNukiSoup #KashiwaNukiSet #UdonClub #UdonLover #UdonShop #Udon #UdonNoodles

When you visit Nakashibetsu, be sure to try it! This time, I had the warm vegetable tempura udon (small portion). The tempura included eggplant, carrot, shiso leaf, sweet potato, pumpkin, and bamboo ring. I think it was the Sanuki udon type. The restaurant had a bright atmosphere with a wood grain interior. The counter had oden available for warming up, which also looked delicious.

The food was incredibly delicious! Especially the way they fry the tempura is excellent! It was raining heavily, so I was able to sit down without waiting even during lunchtime. The tempura is fried perfectly. The udon noodles have a great texture, and the broth is very tasty. The balance of the broth's flavor and saltiness was really good. I can see why this place gets crowded. It might be the best udon restaurant in Eastern Hokkaido. The shichimi pepper on the table was also very delicious. I will definitely come back!

This is a udon restaurant in the center of Nakashibetsu town. I spent about 5 minutes seriously deciding between the carbonara with unlimited cheese topping and the other option. I chose the Tempura Udon (1350 yen), which had crispy and juicy tempura such as eggplant, sweet sweet potato, crunchy carrot, chikuwa, and tender shrimp! The udon noodles were thick and had a great texture. The broth was light in color and flavor, refreshing with a mild sweetness. I could eat this udon endlessly, I wish there was a place like this nearby that I could visit often! *ฅ´ω`ฅ*

Udon is delicious, but tempura is delicious too. The cheese tempura side dish is the best when eaten while still hot. The tempura chicken and burdock root in the curry udon were also excellent. I prefer curry udon over carbonara udon. The carbonara udon comes with unlimited cheese topping. It is very filling due to the large portion.

During a trip to the eastern part of Hokkaido, I visited this authentic Sanuki udon restaurant. There was a short wait of 2 groups during lunchtime on a weekday, but we were seated shortly after. The tempura curry udon had deliciously firm noodles. The tempura dishes were also very tasty, but the portions were too large, especially the chicken tempura, so I had to give up halfway through. Luckily, my husband finished it for me.

In Chubetsu, there is a popular and stylish udon restaurant that opens at 11am and gets full quickly. The menu is extensive, so the turnover rate is normal. It's important not to assume that turnover is good just because it's an udon restaurant. The variety of menu options is great. There is also oden at the entrance counter. They even have cheese tempura. I had the tempura set meal. The tempura was hot and delicious. It was great.

I had to go to Nakashibetsu for work on this day. Since I arrived at lunchtime, I decided to have lunch first. I visited Murakami Udon. As usual, it was crowded. There were even people waiting outside the restaurant. I ordered the Special Chicken Tempura Udon (850 yen + 300 yen for the special size) served cold. Along with the udon, they also served a welcome milk. Despite the crowd, my food arrived in less than 10 minutes. The udon had a nice chewy texture, not too firm. The chicken tempura was served separately, with three large pieces of juicy breast meat tempura. They didn't have the usual dryness that breast meat tends to have, and they were delicious when dipped in the salt-based sauce provided. It was tasty, but I felt like the special size didn't have as much noodles as I expected. Thank you for the meal!

Honestly, I don't have much interest in udon, but my friend recommended me to try it if I ever go to Nakashibetsu, so I visited "Murakami Udon" based on their suggestion. The restaurant has a spacious parking lot, a cool exterior, stylish interior, and energetic staff. The place was almost full, which raised my expectations. They offer a variety of menu items, but I decided to go with the recommended "Tempura Udon," "Niku Udon," and "Gobo Karaage" set. Unfortunately, the rice dish was sold out. Normally, I would go for curry udon or carbonara udon at other places, but since this was Nakashibetsu, I decided to stick with the classic choices. It turned out to be a great decision as the udon and broth were delicious. If this place was near my home, I would have become a udon lover for sure. The restaurant was truly fantastic, and I look forward to visiting again.

Murakami Udon is always delicious no matter what you order (*'▽') On this day, I went into overeating mode by enjoying the all-you-can-eat carbonara cheese topping, followed by cheese risotto for dessert (lol). My daughter's favorite is the meat udon lately, while my son enjoys the kids' set with various toppings. We also added oden, chicken tempura, and vegetable tempura, so we were definitely stuffed (lol). We enjoyed our meal very much (*'▽')

I recently saw this restaurant on TV, so I decided to visit "Murakami Udon". On TV, they recommended the "Carbonara Udon", but I didn't like the unlimited cheese topping system, so I ended up choosing the "Tempura Udon" instead. The udon noodles were thick and had a good texture, typical of Sanuki udon. I quickly finished the 300 grams of noodles. The tempura was delicious, but it felt like two separate dishes. Maybe the "Chikuwa Tempura" would have been better than the "Shrimp Tempura". I should have gone with the Carbonara (or maybe the Curry) after all.
