On January 29, 2022, I saw on TV that they are cultivating oysters in Osaka Bay! Osaka Bay is nutrient-poor with high water transparency and low plankton levels, which doesn't seem ideal for aquaculture. However, the area near the river mouth where nutrients from the mountains flow in seems suitable for cultivation. The operation is only open on weekends and holidays from December to February, and once they run out, it's over. Parking was easy to find. There was a 40-minute wait to enter. The fishermen's cooperative members were all working together to cook the oysters. The "Manpuku Set Meal" allows you to compare oysters from famous production areas like Hinase and Mie. The oysters from Boudeshi are fresh and have no bitterness, with a texture more like scallops. I really wanted to try them raw or rare, but freshly caught oysters cannot be eaten raw. The company running the operation is called Fisherman Freshness Co., Ltd., located in Osaka-fu Hannan-shi Toritori 1716 (within Nishitoritori Fishing Port). The shareholders are Nishitoritori Fisheries Cooperative (50%) and Japan Mikuni Holdings Co., Ltd. (50%). I ordered the Manpuku Set Meal for 1,600 yen (includes 5 grilled oysters, 5 fried oysters, oyster rice, and miso soup with seaweed). I also tried oyster fry for 500 yen, grilled oysters (5 pieces) for 800 yen, Akashita fried fish (flounder) for 300 yen, stir-fried seaweed for 300 yen, and fresh seaweed for 450 yen (takeaway). You can watch a YouTube video about Osaka Prefecture at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1B9gInghF44. Other nearby attractions include Tsukigesho Factory, Naniwa Sake Brewery (established in 1716), and Tajiri Fishing Port. Bon appétit!

I stayed at a friend's house in Izumisano and they brought me here the next day. We had:
- Canned beer for 400 yen
- Manpuku set meal for 1600 yen
- Mixed fry for 700 yen
- Non-alcoholic drink for 300 yen
The set meal included grilled oysters, oyster fry, miso soup, and oyster rice. It was oyster overload but so delicious! The oysters were small but full of flavor. Thank you for the feast!
Please note that they are only open on weekends and holidays.

I didn't know that they cultivate oysters in Osaka. It was crowded on weekends as they are only open on weekends. They offer various set meals and limited edition pizzas. The atmosphere was great as it is a small hut by the port.
