I stayed for 1 night and 2 days in Southern Hokkaido. For the last meal of the trip, I went to this restaurant in Onuma Town. The restaurant overlooks Lake Onuma, creating a fantastic atmosphere. The food was elegant and refined, appealing to a wide range of tastes. The location was so beautiful that I couldn't help but go for a walk outside after ordering. The restaurant staff kindly allowed me to step outside to enjoy the view of Lake Onuma. I ordered the Onuma beef stew for 2,200 yen, which came with appetizers, soup, bread (or rice), and a drink. My companion ordered the Forest-raised Hikoma pork ginger for 1,815 yen, which came with soup, bread (or rice), and a drink. The dishes were served in multiple courses, making the prices seem reasonable. The appetizers included a refreshing salad, carrot rapé, and quiche. The soup, made with Onuma-grown vegetables, was comforting and delicious. The main dish, the Onuma beef stew, was rich and tender, with a perfectly balanced demiglace sauce. The simple bread served with the stew was a perfect accompaniment. Overall, the meal was a delightful experience with impeccable flavors and a stunning view of Lake Onuma.

I visited a restaurant around 11:10 am on a Sunday in July 2023 on my way to Nanae Town for lunch. The restaurant is located just before Onuma Park, offering a view of the park from inside. The interior is stylish, with calming background music playing. Although the restaurant had just opened, there were about 5 groups of customers. When I mentioned there were 2 people in my party, I was asked multiple times if I had made a reservation, indicating that reservations are preferred. We were seated at a table with a view of Onuma through the window. The atmosphere was slightly pricey but reasonable considering the location and ambiance. I ordered the Rivage special roast beef set for 1980 yen, while my wife ordered the Napolitan plate for 1680 yen. The food arrived in about 10 minutes, beautifully presented. The salad was delicious, with a harmonious blend of sweetness from the paprika, saltiness from the dressing, and bitterness from the basil. The minestrone soup was mild in flavor. The roast beef was average, and the mashed potatoes were on the sweet side. Despite the ordinary taste, enjoying a leisurely and elegant lunch was a luxury. As we were leaving, the restaurant was now full, with people waiting for a table. It was a luxurious lunch experience. Thank you for the meal.

I went to GW for lunch and didn't have to wait long to get in. It was cloudy so I couldn't see Mt. Komagatake, but the atmosphere of being able to eat in nature while looking at the bridge and pond in Onuma Park was fantastic. The restaurant is also very clean. The beef in the hashed beef rice was excellent.

This is my second visit! Located next to the Lake Toya Bridge on the shores of Lake Toya, this cafe restaurant exudes the cozy warmth of wood. Enjoying a leisurely meal or cake made with seasonal local ingredients while admiring the picturesque scenery reminiscent of Monet's paintings is pure bliss. The apple pie made with local apples is a must-try, it's delicious! The food is very tasty, but there is also a healing effect that you can't get just by eating here. I felt so recharged! This time, the trees had not yet started to bud, giving a slightly chilly but charmingly Hokkaido-like atmosphere. I look forward to visiting again to enjoy the changing seasons. Highly recommended!

I've always wanted to have a meal on a boat on this lake for many years. It was one of the reasons I chose this tour. However, it depends on the weather, so it all comes down to the weather on the day. Unfortunately, although the weather was good, the strong wind meant we had to have our meal inside the restaurant. The view of the lake at Onuma lakeside is so amazing that even without being on the raft, it's still a wonderful restaurant. After the meal, taking a stroll around the area is very pleasant. The lunch that came with the tour was here. Being able to eat here makes me happy.

Location is great. However, due to the good location, there were bugs inside the restaurant... Also, they only accept reservations, so they seemed overwhelmed turning away walk-in customers. Some restaurants manage this issue well, but it seemed like they were short-staffed with reservation-only service. The food was not bad and had good value, so I hope they can improve.

Roast beef lunch for 1,900 yen with coffee included. The best part is enjoying the meal on the terrace overlooking Lake Onuma! It's popular, so reservations are recommended. The roast beef portion is a bit small, so it might be better to order rice instead of bread.

In the Oonuma National Park, there is a lodge-style cafe-restaurant by the shore of Oonuma Lake where you can enjoy lunch. You can also enjoy lunch cruises and dessert cruises for a limited time, with a view of Mount Komagatake from the lakefront terrace. The name of the restaurant, "Table de Rivage," means "shoreside dining" in French. The interior has a warm feel with plenty of wood, and there are tables by the lake. While you can't see Mount Komagatake from every table, the location allows you to feel close to nature. The background music includes jazz and quiet flamenco tunes. The main offering seems to be lunch sets, and they offer drinks like local beer, wine, Nanairingo apple juice, and Yamacawa Farm's rich milk. The Oonuma Beer (Kolsch) from Brauhaus Oonuma in Nanai Town, Oonuma Town, with an alcohol content of 5%, is a German-style craft beer made with malt from Germany. It has a sharp taste and a refreshing aftertaste. The Forest-raised Hikoma Pork Ginger (with soup, bread, and drink) costs 1,925 yen and includes a small bacon-infused minestrone soup. The bread, though not homemade, was a bit dry. Soft whipped butter was provided on the side. The accompanying fresh vegetable salad had a tangy vinegar-based dressing. Moreover, the meat was overcooked, making the price questionable. There were various colors of cosmos flowers blooming in front of the restaurant. The location is excellent!

Today I visited Onuma Quasi-National Park, one of my favorite walking spots that I visit several times a year. For lunch, I went to a cozy cafe restaurant called Rivage by the Onuma Lake, next to the Kotsuki Bridge. The interior was filled with soft light streaming in from numerous windows, offering a picturesque view outside. I enjoyed a delicious beef stew made with local Onuma beef, followed by an apple pie made with locally grown apples from Nanai. The menu focused on local ingredients, which was a delightful touch. The beef stew had a rich, adult taste, and the crispy pie crust paired perfectly with the sweet and sour apples. It was a blissful experience to enjoy such delicious food while admiring the lovely scenery. While I dined indoors this time, I heard that from May to October, they offer a cruise dining experience on the lake as well. This restaurant is truly a hidden gem that I highly recommend!

<Pacific Ferry and Hokkaido Southern Rental Car Journey> Day 5. Today's lunch is at <Table De Rivage> in the Onuma National Park in Nanai-cho, Hokkaido. I thought Onuma Park was in Hakodate as a Kansai person, but it's actually different. → Store appearance. Hmm, it really feels like Hokkaido. It's just before 1:00 pm and there's a bit of a line. I waited about 15 minutes. I had this ↓ → Soup Curry Plate (1,485 yen) When you come to Hokkaido, you have to have soup curry!! But, is soup curry something you eat at a fancy restaurant like this?? → Enlarged!! There was chicken, carrots, bell peppers, and potatoes. → Enlarged!! Salad, pickles. I'm not sure what the one in front is. For a moment, I thought it was cheese? But it's a type of pasta like gnocchi?? → Ahh. Mmm, delicious. Soup curry is curry but not curry. It's a completely different type from the spiced curry that's popular in Osaka. I wish this kind of curry would become more popular in Kansai too. → Finished!! I ate it all up. → After-meal coffee. It's nice. Or rather, it comes with the set. → Neapolitan Plate (1,485 yen) Marco's parents had this. This one is also voluminous and delicious. Everything except the main dish is almost the same. → Menu 1 I want to try the tomato cream pasta with crab!! → Menu 2 I want to try the apple pie too. → Menu 3 → Menu 4 → Inside the store 1 It's May but it's cold so the stove is on. → Inside the store 2 Authentic audio set. Visited here before 12:00 on Thursday, April 29, after moving from Hakodate to Onuma by rental car for a walk and a boat ride, and then to have lunch. Located along the lake, the view and location are excellent. I was driving, so I toasted with a non-alcoholic drink. For food, I ordered the Onuma beef hashed rice from the lunch menu. The hashed rice with exquisite Onuma beef is packed with flavor and has a rich taste. It was a rare encounter with authentic hashed rice. The beef is tender and you can fully enjoy the taste of the meat. It seems like it would go well with red wine. The homemade pickles, which seem to be homemade, have a gentle flavor and serve as a nice accent. After eating the hashed rice, I had the homemade apple pie. The apples with a moderate acidity and the fragrant dough go well together. It's not a place I can visit frequently, but I would like to go there at night sometime and try some wine. I bet the night view is beautiful too. Thank you for the meal.

The restaurant provides a boat-like terrace for lunch and cafe cruises. The cafe cruise costs 1500 yen per person and it was very relaxing. The lunch took a bit of time to be served after ordering. The dressing on the salad was unique and delicious. I personally recommend the creamy pasta with snow crab or the roast beef for lunch. The atmosphere was great and I would definitely want to visit this restaurant again.

There is a restaurant in Onuma Park. In the summer, you can have lunch on a cruise. I ordered the beef stew, which had tender meat that easily broke apart with a spoon. It was hearty and satisfying. My partner had the apple pie, which had plenty of apples and was delicious. Onuma Park had started to show some autumn colors.

I told my wife about the lunch cruise I did with a friend here before, and she surprisingly said she wanted to go too. Even though she usually doesn't like boats, she was interested in the lunch. So, we decided to try "Table de Rivage" restaurant. It is located a bit away from the bustling area of Onuma Park, by the quiet lakeside. It used to give me a hidden gem vibe, but now it seems to be quite popular. We almost filled up the reserved seats, and there was a waitlist afterwards. Luckily, we got a free table. We ordered the 1350 yen one-plate lunch, with a choice of soup curry or Napolitan. I chose Napolitan, and my wife chose the soup curry. We both had coffee after the meal. The food arrived in about 10 minutes, and we enjoyed our meal. The Napolitan was high-quality with a herb scent, and the gnocchi was delicious. The pickles with onions and lotus root were a unique touch. We finished with coffee and then went for a stroll around Onuma before heading back home.

Lunch cruise experience. When boarding, a one-plate menu was served, and we cruised around the pond while eating. The menu included soup curry, salad, gnocchi, and more. The salad dressing was delicious. The whole experience lasted about 30 minutes, which was just the right amount of time. The portion of food was not too much, so we could enjoy a leisurely meal. We were able to take photos and overall, we were satisfied with the experience considering the price. Thank you for the meal.

On the way back to Sapporo from a trip to Kanto, I stopped by Onuma Park. After gathering information at the tourist information center and park information, I enjoyed the magnificent view of Mt. Komagatake from several walking paths in the park, and also took a sightseeing boat tour around Onuma and Konuma lakes, fully enjoying Onuma National Park. When I arrived at Onuma Park Station around 1 pm, I had lunch first. I had made a reservation at this restaurant in advance. From the lunch menu, I chose the Onuma beef stew from the Rivage Lunch B. The appetizer came with quiche, marinated root vegetables, and leaf salad. The soup was a king oyster mushroom potage. The bread was lightly toasted soft baguette. Now, the main dish of Onuma beef is served. The beef pieces were quite large, with 4-5 different cuts mixed in. The meat was tender, and the light demi-glace sauce had a hint of red wine flavor. The portion was generous, but the sauce was light enough that it remained delicious until the end. The interior of the restaurant had a chic atmosphere with a lot of wood, and the tables were spaced out nicely, allowing me to enjoy my meal in a calm manner. If I have the chance to visit Onuma Park again, I would definitely like to revisit this restaurant.

In Hakodate, there are many old wounds, so every time I go, my heart stings a bit... However, the cityscape has changed a lot since the old days, so I don't flashback as much anymore. From Hakodate to Lake Onuma Park, there is also a big old wound along the route. Here, the scenery is more of a "natural" landscape, so it doesn't change as much as the "city," but the atmosphere around has definitely changed... Oh, there are photo spots! And even a boat landing. This looks almost exactly like it did back in the day! Oh no... the flashbacks are coming back... Since I am alone this time, I don't need a boat or anything like that. So, I decided to explore the lakeside on foot. It feels a bit lonely... The goal is not really the lakeside, but a restaurant that is surrounded by the lake (even though it's a big "swamp"). It looked quite sophisticated in the guidebook photos, so I wanted to check it out. Oh, is that it? Hmm, the surroundings do look like a lake (even though it's a big "swamp"). It looks nice. It's around 1 o'clock in the afternoon. There are hardly any customers, and I am guided to a seat with a great view. First, a beer. I thought about Sapporo Classic since it's Hokkaido, but I noticed "Onuma Beer." Let's enjoy "Onuma" since I came all the way here. "Onuma Beer" was a refreshing and easy-to-drink beer. However, it does leave a bit of a local beer-like aftertaste. Next, I look at the food menu... Hmm... I was interested in the "Onuma Beef," but I need to save some space for Hakodate Ramen later... So, I opt for a light option - the "Napolitan." But it's still 1,000 yen... not exactly cheap. Well, before that, let's be a bit fancy and have a glass of red wine. Then the "Napolitan" arrives. It's not the greasy, junky type but a more refined version with a tomato sauce, and the portion is small. In exchange, there's plenty of salad. It even comes with gnocchi. The chewy texture, the cooking level, just right. Overall, a healthy "Napolitan." So, no guilt. The view from the window is nice too, and I'm glad I came to this restaurant. After enjoying the lakeside restaurant without any old wounds, it's time to walk around the park and head back. Alright. The old wounds seem to have faded quite a bit... but then, I end up passing by the boat landing and photo spots again! Oh no... the flashbacks are coming back... (When will I let go of the past!)

Memories from a graduation trip. Visited this restaurant with a group of 20 people, so maybe someone made a reservation? A lovely location right by the shores of Lake Onuma. The restaurant had a classy log cabin feel to it. I had my favorite pasta dish which was delicious. My friends ordered something that looked like hitsumabushi? There was also Japanese cuisine available. Thank you for the meal.

I had an exciting and thrilling experience with my first meal plan on board a ship. Unfortunately, it was cloudy, but the sun wasn't too strong, which was actually nice. Lunch and coffee on the ship were a luxurious time. Highly recommended!
