I went on a business trip to Fukuoka and stayed at the Nikko Hotel near JR Hakata Station. I arrived at Fukuoka Airport after 7 pm and took a taxi to the hotel. After checking into my room, I went to a Japanese restaurant called "Benkei" on the second floor of the hotel around 8 pm. They also had sushi, so I decided to sit at the counter. It turned out that this was not Benkei, but another restaurant called Ginmeisui. It was a nice place and not too crowded, so I was able to enjoy a delicious meal at a leisurely pace. I had 10 pieces of sushi, a roll, and chawanmushi. I got hooked on the plum wasabi that came as a side dish. It was my first time trying plum wasabi, and it was really good.

Located inside the Japan Airlines hotel. I made a reservation and my initial impression after 5 minutes was honestly "It's a famous hotel but just okay." I felt that the service for drinks and menu was slow. Perhaps the young staff members were not used to it. I felt that they lacked the essential consideration and friendliness required in the service industry. I whispered to the hall staff to bring the course dishes a bit earlier (for when we leave), but immediately after that, they conveyed it to the chef in front of us (while looking at us) as if we were pressuring them. And it was loud enough for other customers at the counter to hear. I didn't mean to ask in that way. Since it's not a casual izakaya, I wished they showed a bit more thoughtfulness or consideration. The chefs at the counter didn't engage in conversation with the customers and just seemed to be focused on preparing the dishes. For us who were looking forward to enjoying a moderate conversation with the chef about the dishes, their passion, and seasonal ingredients, it was not enough. The sushi itself was delicious, but the service impression made the impression of the dishes even weaker. Only the farewell was polite.

The food was very delicious and reasonably priced! The portion size for 5,000 yen was great value for money. The chef was very friendly and provided excellent service, making the atmosphere very pleasant. Sushi can sometimes feel high-end and intimidating, but here it was just right and very comfortable.

On the second day of my parents' celebration, we went out for lunch! I've actually been brought here quite a few times as a seminar instructor, but I never had the chance to enjoy a meal leisurely. This time, I mentioned that it was for my parents' celebration, and they made a wonderful presentation for us. The food tasted even better when we took our time to savor it!

After a long time, I went to Hotel Nikko for lunch with a friend. There are various options like a small dish set meal, but I chose the "Sui" course sushi lunch for 5,500 yen (tax included). Before entering, they checked our temperature, provided alcohol disinfectant, and had masks available. I started with a beer, Kirin Lager. It was a joy to be able to drink in the afternoon. The staff, dressed in kimono, poured the beer for us and was so cute when I asked to take a photo. The plum miso served as an appetizer had a nice spicy kick to it. I even wanted to take some home to eat with white rice (laughs). The ginger was in a unique spherical shape. The first sushi was sweet sea bream. The red vinegar sushi rice was already seasoned in the Edo-mae style. It had a mild flavor with less acidity. The steamed egg custard had white fish and was very elegant. Next, I had medium fatty tuna which was delicious with a hint of sweetness. The sushi chef would bring out the next dish based on our eating pace, but my friend's non-stop talking caused me to eat slower (laughs). So, I might forget which fish was which when looking back at the photos (sweat). I won't go into detail about each sushi piece, but the ones I found delicious were the sea bream, mini salmon roe bowl, horse mackerel, sea eel, Hokkaido sea urchin, and conger eel. For the final tuna roll, we had a choice of red miso soup or clear soup, and the delicious red miso soup had a great clam flavor. Dessert was sherbet and grapes, accompanied by roasted green tea. The chef was lively and cheerful, making the dining experience comfortable even for a first-time visitor. Oh no!!! While writing this, I found out that there was a coupon on the restaurant's Tabelog page. If I had known, I could have gotten a small dish as a service (laughs). Thank you for the meal!

I came to Matsuzuki for the first time and found out that it is in the same group as another restaurant I like, which explains why everything is so well done. The chef used to work at Hakata Ginchou on the second floor of Bayside, I didn't know that! When I asked for recommendations, I was served a variety of dishes like grilled items, sashimi, and sushi. Everything was good! I also tried some whiskey they are practicing with. Overall, it was a great experience. My winter break is almost over, so I'll have to go back to work soon. But before that, I'll try to use up my meal vouchers.

Sushi restaurant located on the 2nd floor of Hotel Nikko Fukuoka. It shares the same entrance as the Japanese restaurant (Benkei) and is located on the right hand side. It opened on July 10th this year. Previously, there was a long-established sushi restaurant in Hakata called "Kawasho," but now it has been replaced by "Ginmeisui Hakata," the first branch in Kyushu of the teppanyaki restaurant "Ginmeisui," which originated in Gotemba and became a famous restaurant in Ginza. Some of the chefs are said to be former Kawasho employees. There are only 11 counter seats. The lunch options include: - Service Set (2,160 yen) - 7 kinds of sushi, rolls, soup, dessert - Upper Nigiri (3,132 yen) - 8 kinds of sushi, rolls, chawanmushi, soup, dessert - Special Upper Nigiri (4,212 yen) - 9 kinds of sushi, rolls, chawanmushi, soup, dessert - Premium Nigiri (5,400 yen) - 12 kinds of sushi, rolls, chawanmushi, soup, dessert - Chef's Choice (5,400 yen) - small dish, sashimi, vinegared dish, 7 kinds of sushi, rolls, chawanmushi, soup, dessert, etc. The interior is nice, and even though it's a hotel, there is no service charge added, which is good. The reviewer opted for the Upper Nigiri set and enjoyed dishes like saltwater eel, medium fatty tuna, spear squid, horse mackerel, gizzard shad, red sea urchin, sea bream, tekkamaki with shiso, chawanmushi, and red miso soup. The apple sherbet for dessert was also delicious. The chef was friendly, and the atmosphere was comfortable. It is a good place for entertaining clients or special occasions.

The atmosphere was great, and the staff were calm. The sushi and chawanmushi were all excellent. Every piece of sushi was delicious, but the squid was the most surprising. It was incredibly fluffy, about five times better than I expected.

I visited for lunch on 3/9 and was impressed by the attentive service. They adjusted to my eating pace, which was great. I usually only go to conveyor belt sushi restaurants (Kyozushi in Kokura Kita-ku), but this was on a different level. I will definitely visit again.

This is a sushi restaurant located on the second floor of Hotel Nikko Fukuoka. It was previously operated as "Kawasho", but has been newly reopened as a sushi restaurant run by the famous Ginza teppanyaki restaurant "Ginmeisui". I visited here for lunch alone and sat at a counter seat that exuded a sense of luxury yet warmth. I ordered the reasonable service set for 2160 yen from the lunch menu. Starting with fresh sea bream sushi caught in the Genkainada Sea, the lunch began. The second item was tuna, with a perfect harmony between the melt-in-your-mouth texture of the rice and the tuna. The third item was spear squid, already seasoned with salt and kabosu, so I ate it as it was. The fourth item was Spanish mackerel, a sushi made with high-quality Spanish mackerel with good fat content. The soup was a choice between red miso soup and clear soup, and I chose red miso soup made with a large fish head. The fifth and sixth items were horse mackerel and yellowtail. After that, I also had a piece of kamasu sushi. After finishing the sushi, the final sushi was a roll, which was supposed to be cucumber roll, but I asked for a tekka maki instead because I don't like cucumbers. For dessert, I had apple sherbet, and this slightly luxurious hotel lunch ended. The restaurant is located on the second floor of Hotel Nikko Fukuoka.
