Gyukou, known for its long lines in Kyoto, has opened a new branch in front of Asakusa Station! I had never visited the Kyoto location due to the always long lines, but this one seems to be lesser known as there was no wait. I finally got to try the meat mabushi that I had been wanting to eat, and it was very satisfying!

I added a salad to the small meat sushi. The vinegar rice under the low-temperature cooked meat had drippings. The steak donburi also seemed to be lacking. Even though it's on the menu, they apparently don't have cold sake available. From the second floor, you can see the Skytree and a beer company.

I had been working non-stop for days, so I decided to treat myself to a day in Tokyo, staying overnight and eating lots of delicious food. I found this restaurant right near my hotel, with a newly opened feel to it. The layout was such that you couldn't see the seating area from outside, but the menu looked enticing, so I took a chance and went in. There were seats on the first floor and the second floor, and I chose the second floor with a large window overlooking the river. It felt like I was looking up at the Skytree. The menu mainly featured dishes centered around lean beef, and I had a hard time deciding because everything looked delicious. But since I had already had a seafood bowl for lunch, I skipped the rice bowl options and went for the Black Wagyu Steak Bowl. It came with a side salad, miso soup, and pickles. Although it was called a steak bowl, it was more like beef tataki. The lean beef was so tender and each slice was bite-sized, making it easy to eat. The coarsely ground black pepper added a nice kick, and the sauce had a Western flavor. It was served with wasabi for flavor variation. I was very satisfied with the meal. And you can even get free extra rice if you want a larger portion! Despite being a steak bowl, the lean beef made it a healthy choice. When I asked on my way out, I found out that the restaurant had only been open for a week. I might want to try their beef rice bowl next time, but by then, it could be so popular that reservations are necessary or there might be long lines... I have a feeling this wonderful and delicious restaurant will become very popular.

I was curious because it had just opened. It seems that you have to wait in line to eat in Kyoto. In Asakusa, it seems that the restaurant is newly opened and not well known yet, so I was able to enter without waiting. I was very hungry and ordered the black wagyu beef. It was cooked like a medium rare beef cutlet, so I think those who like it will enjoy it. If you don't choose the black wagyu beef, you can eat for about ¥1,000, so I think it's a good value for money. Thank you for the meal.
