I have always wanted to try this restaurant, which recently opened and has already become very popular, with long lines forming at times. I decided to go around 3pm on a weekday to avoid the crowds, and luckily there was no line. They offer a variety of fillings for their onigiri, and you can choose up to two fillings per onigiri. I ordered one with salted salmon and salmon roe, one with egg yolk and seasoned minced meat, and one with grilled miso and cheese. When the onigiri arrived, I was surprised by how big they were, and it looked like the fillings were overflowing. When I took a bite, I found that there was a generous amount of filling inside, making it very satisfying and delicious. I also enjoyed trying different combinations of fillings. One unique option was the grilled miso and cheese onigiri, where the cheese was melted on top. Another great thing was that they offered free ochazuke (rice in tea) using their dashi broth. I thought the salted salmon and salmon roe onigiri would be perfect for ochazuke, so I tried it and it was incredibly tasty. Overall, I was very satisfied with the experience. Onigiri shops are becoming popular in Tokyo and other places, but I can see this one gaining even more popularity in Osaka. I will definitely be going back. ★I also have an Instagram account! Thanks to all your support, I have reached over 15,000 followers. I will continue to share delicious gourmet food here, so please follow me at http://instagram.com/osakagourmet.ryox/

I went expecting fluffy and salty onigiri, but it was just a regular onigiri. The filling was plentiful and well-seasoned, and the rice grains were firm, but it felt a bit dry and lacked saltiness. My friend who went with me also commented that it was lacking in salt. We both agreed that onigiri from the department store's onigiri shop, which is fluffy and made with salted water, is much tastier.

Full of volume and now a hot topic, the onigiri specialty store "Onigiri Gorichan" in Nakazaki-cho @onigiri_gorichan_nakazaki✎︎ Located just a 1-minute walk from Nakazaki-cho and an 8-minute walk from Umeda, this onigiri specialty store always has a line. The menu is extensive and the combinations are endless ♾️ I was quite torn, but since it was my first visit, I went with the popular No.2 and No.3 options below: ◽️ Egg yolk soy sauce marinated + minced meat ¥550 ◽️ Negitoro + egg yolk soy sauce marinated ¥500 ◽️ Miso soup (tofu) ¥200 Refills are free~... The onigiri is packed with plenty of filling and the way it is rolled and the generous amount make it incredibly delicious. Two pieces were just right for me, but I could have easily eaten three! It's so tasty that you'll finish it in no time. You can also have it as ochazuke with toppings like rice crackers and seaweed on a dashi made from Hokkaido kelp and bonito, also free~ The atmosphere inside is lively, and the staff's care is wonderful. By the time I left the store, I felt warm and fuzzy ☺︎ I highly recommend it, so be sure to check it out♡... #OnigiriGorichan #OnigiriGorichanNakazaki #OnigiriSpecialtyStore #Nakazaki-cho #Umeda #OsakaGourmet #Nakazaki-choLunch #UmedaLunch #KansaiGourmet

Gorichan is famous for its yakiniku restaurant, but the recently opened onigiri shop was also amazing. I visited at 1:00 PM on a weekday and there was already a line of over 10 people, showing how popular it is. The menu includes silver rice without seaweed, mentaiko with takana, egg yolk soy sauce with minced meat, grilled miso with cheese, and miso soup (with tofu). First of all, the rice is delicious, made with Niigata Koshihikari rice and expertly molded into fluffy 180g onigiri. Honestly, even without toppings, it's tasty (I finished the silver rice before filming, haha). You can get free refills of miso soup from the second bowl, and the onigiri itself is generously filled, so you'll definitely get full. Lastly, you can make ochazuke with the dashi broth and condiments in the shop, and you can also get takeout, so I plan to visit again.

The popular No.1 dish, sujiko salmon roe, was delicious and quite large. I ate it in the restaurant and finished with ochazuke. My friend waited about 1 hour for soft-boiled egg yolk, beef tendon, and grilled miso cheese. The restaurant has a small interior with only a counter.

Onigiri Gori-chan / Opened in Osaka Nakazaki-cho and still a popular onigiri specialty store with long lines!! I tried a luxurious onigiri for the first time. FOOD - Beef tendon and salmon 700 yen - Egg yolk soy sauce marinated and minced meat 550 yen - Negitoro and egg yolk soy sauce marinated 500 yen - Miso soup with tofu 200 yen Ever since it opened, Onigiri Gori-chan has been a hot topic and there was still a long line on this day. Inside the store, energetic staff members and ice-cold water were waiting. While waiting for the onigiri, I got to see the masterful skills of the onigiri expert. The onigiri I ordered were ranked in the top 3, and let me tell you, they were huge in size, filled with luxurious ingredients, packed to the brim, and all for 500-700 yen. I think the cost performance is great! I also recommend ordering miso soup once because refills are free. The last one was turned into ochazuke with the self-service dashi inside the store! It was a fantastic way to end the meal. I had a great time enjoying the luxurious onigiri and the energetic staff members. I returned home thinking how lucky I am to be Japanese. Thank you for the meal!

There were about 10 people lined up right after the store opened. While waiting, they offered us water and loaned us fans, which was thoughtful. It was fun to be able to choose the ingredients for the onigiri. I thought the ingredients were only on the top, but they were actually inside as well. It was delicious! I was happy that I could get a refill of miso soup when I ordered it. I want to go try a different onigiri with different ingredients again.

In August 2023, the popular yakiniku restaurant "Yakiniku Gorichan" in Nakazakicho and Fukushima has opened a rice ball specialty store in front of Nakazakicho Station. I had been curious about it since I saw long lines forming on weekends when passing by in my car. Finally, I went for lunch on a holiday and, as expected, there was a line of about 10 people. When I was seated at the counter and looked at the menu, I saw that there were about 50 different rice ball fillings to choose from! Plus, you can customize by adding extra toppings for an additional fee, like doubling the filling with "baimore" or getting a larger size for 50 yen more. For those who find it overwhelming to think about combinations, I recommend the "Top 10 Toppings." My friend and I chose 7 items from this list. The rice balls are big at 180g each, and just 3 can make you quite full. The fillings are packed inside the rice ball. There are two types of miso soup available, with one being tofu that you can drink as much as you want, and the soup for ochazuke is also self-serve and free. I made a luxurious ochazuke with "sujiko + sake" by adding chopped seaweed, rice crackers, sesame seeds, green onions, and wasabi. It was incredibly delicious. I was skeptical about the combination of "saba + pork kimchi," but they actually go well together, and the grilled mackerel itself was very tasty. The Niigata Sado-produced Koshihikari rice was delicious, and although the price can be a bit high depending on the toppings, the satisfaction level was high. Thank you for the meal.

I arrived excitedly a little after 10 o'clock and found no other customers. It was a very hot day, so the staff kindly offered me water and lent me a fan. By 11 o'clock, there were about 3 groups of customers waiting in line. - Shrimp Chili (off-menu item only available in-store) 450 yen I was disappointed when I couldn't find it on the menu, but then I saw it listed as a special off-menu item! I quickly changed my order from Shrimp Mayo to Shrimp Chili. It was a small shrimp chili with plenty of ingredients and very delicious! The rice ball was a bit crumbly and difficult to eat neatly, though. - Fresh Cod Roe + Cream Cheese 400 yen This dish also had plenty of ingredients! Fresh cod roe and cream cheese are a perfect combination! I ate about 1/3 of it and turned the rest into a DIY ochazuke with green onions, arare rice crackers, white sesame seeds, chopped seaweed, and wasabi. It was easier to eat as ochazuke, but honestly, I thought it would have been better to eat it as a rice ball!

The restaurant opened at 11:00, and I arrived around 10:15. I was the first one there, and even though it was too hot to wait outside, the staff kindly lent me some cold water and a fan to help me cope with the heat. If it's a weekday, you can probably get in even if you arrive just 10 minutes before opening. I ordered the clam and egg yolk + stamina onigiri! The clams were recommended by the manager on Instagram, and they were delicious. The onigiri had a generous amount of clams simmered in soy sauce, which made it very flavorful and satisfying. The egg yolk was rich and the stamina flavor was bold, making the rice even more enjoyable. The pickled radish was thickly cut and lightly seasoned, providing a nice break between bites of the onigiri. The onigiri itself was fluffy, although a bit difficult to eat when freshly made, it was still delicious!

"Located in Nakazaki-cho, 'Onigiri Gorichan' is a lively new restaurant where mostly young women work. Arriving at 11:45 am, the place was 90% full. The right side is for takeout, while dining in is on the left side. The L-shaped counter has hooks for hanging items, but there is no space for storing bags. The menu includes items like Spicy Cod Roe Onigiri for 350 yen, Soy Sauce-marinated Egg Yolk for 400 yen, and Miso Soup (with tofu) for 200 yen (refills allowed). The total bill comes to 950 yen (cash or card only). The seaweed miso soup cannot be refilled, so tofu is used instead. The food arrived quickly, but the onigiri takes about 5 minutes to prepare. The onigiri is large, with plenty of filling at the top and throughout, such as cod roe. The freshly made onigiri is warm and fluffy, so be careful when eating. The Soy Sauce-marinated Egg Yolk onigiri is similar, with a generous amount of egg yolk inside. I noticed a self-service corner behind the seats where you can make ochazuke by adding nori, arare, and dashi to a small bowl, then adding a portion of your onigiri and mixing it with hot water for a light tea-flavored dish. With this option available, you might not even need the miso soup. The energetic atmosphere, with the staff calling out 'Welcome!' and 'Thank you!' in unison, feels like being in a sports club. As I left, I saw several groups waiting outside. There are rumors of a branch opening in Namba. If you're interested in this restaurant, be sure to save this post for reference."

I visited this restaurant in Osaka again, hoping to experience the deliciousness reminiscent of the famous restaurant "Bongo" in Tokyo. I ordered the same salmon roe rice ball as last time, but it didn't taste as good as before. I couldn't help but ask the staff, "Has the taste changed?" They said they hadn't made any particular changes. However, unlike last time when there was always a line, there were only two groups dining in the restaurant that day. Maybe other customers are feeling the same way. I hope that the next time I visit, I will be impressed by the deliciousness once again!

On Sunday at 18:15, I went to "Onigiri Gorichan" in Nakazakicho. I ordered "Clam (300 yen)", "Shiso Kombu (300 yen)", and "Miso soup with tofu (200 yen)". It took 10 minutes for the food to arrive. It seemed like there was only one person making the onigiri today, so it was quite busy. I took a bite of the "Clam" onigiri. It was delicious. The clams, cooked in a sweet and savory sauce, had a rich flavor. The aroma of sansho pepper gently lingered, giving it a Japanese taste. The seaweed was moist and the rice ball was soft. The texture of the onigiri can make or break a rice ball shop. I then tried the "Shiso Kombu" onigiri. It was tasty. The shiso flavor was natural and the kombu was sweet and savory. There was a generous amount of filling. They also offer free ochazuke with the shiso kombu. I tried the ochazuke with wasabi, green onions, and chopped seaweed. Pouring the hot broth over it made a delicious ochazuke. The miso soup was free for refills. I, of course, had a refill. I felt like having onigiri for dinner today, so I came here. Luckily, there wasn't a long line when I arrived. Thank you for the meal.

This is my second visit. I tried to change the fillings of the rice balls from last time, but ended up repeating the salted salmon, egg yolk soy sauce, and dried fish flakes. I ordered different flavors for the other two items since I was with a different companion, and we shared all four items. They were all incredibly delicious. There are still more fillings I want to try, so I will continue to visit for a while.

I have been to Yakiniku Gori-chan before, but I have never been to Onigiri Gori-chan. In the past, I passed by the shop and saw a long line even though it was raining, so I didn't go in. However, this time, I had made a reservation for 5:00 PM, but when I passed by the shop at 4:30 PM, there was no line, so I impulsively went in. As soon as I entered, I was greeted very energetically. You can feel the vibe of the Gori-chan affiliated shops. We were seated at the counter right in front of the entrance and quickly looked at the menu to place our order. ----- Taste Impressions ----- Me: ① Beef Tendon with Salmon, ⑦ Mentaiko with Takana Him: ② Egg Yolk with Minced Meat, ⑩ Tuna with Shibazuke There were other options as well, but since it was our first time, we ordered the recommended ones. After a short wait, they were handed over to us across the counter. They were nicely packed and filled to the brim, very delicious! They were actually too tightly packed, so they started falling apart as we ate. We ended up with messy hands while eating. Next time, I want to try eating them with pickles and green tea. ------------------- It's no wonder this place is popular... On the day I visited, there was an event in front of Hankyu Bigman, and I happened to enter the shop with event giveaways. The staff noticed and interacted with me, creating a pleasant atmosphere. Thank you as always. Bon appétit!

The dishes were incredibly abundant and delicious! I had the soy sauce-marinated egg and salmon roe onigiri, and I was surprised by the amount of eggs in the soy sauce-marinated egg. I wonder how many were in there. I thought there would be one visible and one inside, but it was packed inside too! I recommended it to my friends right away. The seaweed miso soup is also excellent!

There was a rice ball specialty store that was popular on Instagram! I arrived 10 minutes before opening on a weekday. There were about 5 groups of customers ahead of me, so I was able to get in on the first round. More customers arrived later, so it's better to line up before opening! I ordered the following: ◯Tuna and Salmon 650 yen ◯Soy sauce marinated egg yolk and Negitoro 450 yen Both were packed with ingredients and very satisfying. The tuna was amazing with the rice, it was the best! The salmon was honestly just okay, so I recommend either getting just the tuna or choosing your favorite ingredients separately. The egg yolk Negitoro was also amazing! It was my first time trying soy sauce marinated egg yolk, and it was incredibly delicious! It's a taste you can't recreate at home. You can also make ochazuke (tea poured over rice) at the end! I was already quite full after just one rice ball, but everyone else was ordering 2 or more. It's great that you can choose your favorite ingredients, I definitely want to go back! Thank you for the meal!

It was a visit around 2 pm on a regular day. There were about 3 groups of customers before me, so I was able to enter smoothly. The interior of the restaurant is mainly white, and the lighting is very bright. When I entered, the staff in the hall shouted "Ready, set, go!" and everyone said "Welcome!"... Personally, I'm not a fan of this kind of place... I ordered the most popular dish, which is salmon belly and fish roe with egg yolk soy sauce marinated miso soup (with tofu). The miso soup is all-you-can-drink. It took about 10 minutes for the dish to be served. I completely forgot about the salmon belly, but when the fish roe warms up, the fishy smell becomes prominent! The salmon belly in the warm rice ball is fishy. It seems like the selling point of the restaurant is having a lot of ingredients, but when there is too much salmon belly, it becomes too salty. The seaweed is not crispy, making it hard to bite through, and the ingredients spill out from the bottom and sides, making it difficult to eat. The egg yolk soy sauce marinated dish is like egg over rice! The miso soup is refreshing, so ordering it was the right decision. It seems like you have to go get refills yourself. The rice ball is about 170 grams each, equivalent to about one rice bowl? However, having too many ingredients may make the dish overly flavorful.

The restaurant is located about a 1-2 minute walk west from Exit 1 of Nakazakicho Station on the Osaka Metro Tanimachi Line. There was a line in front of the shop, so we waited. Inside, there are 12 counter seats. We tried four types of onigiri and miso soup. The onigiri were large and triangular, with rice grains standing out. The filled onigiri were wrapped in roasted seaweed, with the fillings evenly distributed. We tried the ikura and sake oyako onigiri. The sake with ikura had a nice saltiness and texture. The nori tsukudani onigiri had a sweet and savory flavor. The natto onigiri had small natto beans, which paired well with the rice. The ginshari onigiri had a perfect saltiness that enhanced the rice's flavor. We ate half of the onigiri as is, and the other half as a special dashi tea pickled dish. The dashi made with bonito flakes and kelp mixed well with the rice. We also had miso soup with tofu and green onions, which complemented the onigiri. You can also get refills of onigiri, so we will definitely be back to try more varieties. Thank you for the meal.

"I received information from a kind person at work who mentioned that there is a popular place in Osaka Nakazakicho where you can try a variety-filled onigiri. Excited to try it out, I decided to walk from Osaka Umeda to the location. The nearest station is Nakazakicho on the Osaka Metro Tanimachi Line. Arriving at the restaurant around 4:30 PM, I noticed there were already 4 people waiting in line outside. I quickly joined the line, and soon after, more people lined up behind me. Most of the customers were young, mostly pairs, and seemed well-versed in social media. There was a cute signboard at the entrance mentioning 'Niigata Prefecture Koshihikari,' indicating a focus on quality ingredients. After waiting for about 30 minutes, I was finally called in at 5 PM. Inside, the staff greeted me energetically and seated me at the counter. The interior was simple and cozy, with autographed signboards on the walls. I wasn't familiar with most of the names, probably popular figures in the SNS world. I checked the menu which offered onigiri with various toppings. I decided to order the top 3 recommended combinations from the 'Top 10 Toppings' board. I also added a tofu miso soup upon the staff's suggestion. The miso soup was served promptly and tasted delicious. The onigiri took a bit longer but was worth the wait. Each onigiri was generously filled with toppings and quite large in size. I ordered the 'Sujiko + Salmon,' 'Soy Sauce-marinated Egg Yolk + Minced Meat,' and 'Pork Kimchi + Natto' combinations. Each had its unique flavors and were satisfying. The staff mentioned that the 'Pork Kimchi + Natto' was their personal favorite. After finishing my meal, I learned that they also offered dashi broth to make 'ochazuke,' but I missed trying it. The total bill came to 1,750 yen, or 1,550 yen without the miso soup. It was a bit pricey, but considering their focus on quality ingredients, it was understandable. As I left, the staff thanked me warmly. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience with delicious onigiri, and I would love to visit again for the 'ochazuke' next time."
