You can eat quickly here. There are tables and chairs outside, but it can be a bit uncomfortable with people watching. The pork cutlet bowl uses pork from three sources, but the meat is thin and typical of standing soba restaurants. The taste is gentle with a strong dashi flavor. I added tempura to the soba set for an extra 160 yen. The tempura has a homemade feel and includes small squid. The dashi goes well with udon, but it didn't quite match with the soba. Overall, it's better suited for udon.

The restaurant opens at 7 am, so I visited for breakfast. There were about 5 customers already there at 9 am on a weekday. You order and pay at the same time. I had the Wakame Soba, which was lighter in flavor compared to Tokyo and Hakata. The seating is standing only inside, but there are tables outside where you can sit and eat.

During my business trip, I had breakfast here. This is a famous standing soba chain in Osaka, similar to Fuji Soba in Tokyo. I had egg soba and onigiri. It's been a while since I last had it, but the Kansai-style broth is still delicious. It tastes even better when mixed with raw egg. Although the prices have gone up compared to before, the reasonably priced and delicious soba is still going strong.

I have been living in Tokyo for a long time, but whenever I go back to my hometown, I always make sure to eat at the local Tsukemen restaurant. While there are delicious standing soba shops in Tokyo and I also enjoy the salty broth typical of the Kanto region, the taste of Tsukemen that I have been eating since I was a child is truly exceptional. The local Tsukemen shop closed down a while ago, so lately I have been going to the Tsukemen in Umeda for my usual Red Ginger Tempura Tsukemen and onigiri. It's really delicious. Tsukemen is the best!

I visited a soba and udon restaurant called "Miyako Soba Shin Umeda Store" on a holiday in February 2023 around 12:00 PM. It is located about a 3-minute walk from Higashi Umeda Station, in a crowded area of a shopping street. The restaurant has tables outside on the street, but also a standing counter inside. There were 2 customers ahead of me. I ordered the "Kakiage Udon" for ¥460 from the friendly female staff. After paying, I received my udon and ate it at the standing counter. The kakiage tempura was a good size with chopped green onions on top, a simple and nostalgic taste. The tempura included small shrimp, squid, carrots, onions, and green beans, giving it a cheap but familiar flavor. The sweetness of the onions in the tempura was subtly delicious. The udon noodles had a good texture and paired well with the Kansai-style broth. I enjoyed the B-class taste of the kakiage udon, especially the chopped squid and the refreshing flavor of the green onions. I added some shichimi pepper from the table for extra kick and aroma. The kakiage udon filled me up nicely and satisfied my hunger. I made sure to savor the broth soaked with the tempura batter. Whenever I'm in Osaka, I always feel like stopping by "Miyako Soba". They have great soba and udon. The restaurant was bustling with customers coming in one after another as I enjoyed my meal.

I happened to discover a standing soba and udon noodle shop near Osaka Station in the Higashi-Torii Shotengai shopping street. I was too busy with work during my business trip to have time for lunch, but decided to give it a try. The shop was small with standing counter and outdoor seating, and I opted for a simple warm egg and meat udon. The udon was decent, with a slightly sweet broth that was tasty. The meat in the udon was also tender and flavorful with a sweet seasoning. Overall, it was a good option when you're short on time, offering decent taste and value for money. This is what standing soba in Osaka feels like, I suppose.

Osaka City, Kita Ward. Dining and drinking tour with Mr. Street Fighter II, Chapter 4, season 6. To wrap things up this time, we had udon at Miyako Soba! It is located at the intersection of Higashi-dori and Shimmido-suji. The inside of the restaurant has a few standing seats. There are also tables outside, where we ate this time. - Tempura Udon (400 yen): The soup was a bit thin. - Mini Tamago-don Set (530 yen): Mr. Street Fighter II's choice. A set with kake udon and a mini tamago-don. The mini tamago-don was split in half. The soft tamago-don was delicious with a strong dashi flavor! It was like TKG in some parts! This time we concluded with udon after visiting 6 places. The highlight was finding 2 cozy restaurants.

Aichi person and consecutive day and night drinking in Umeda. Morning standing drinking ↓ Lunch sushi-style restaurant drinking ↓ Coffee shop hotcakes ↓ Evening standing drinking (feeling full) ↓ Hormone drinking (the stomach medicine I took earlier is starting to work and the feeling of fullness is relieved \(^o^)/) Time to wrap it up. But it's sad that it's not ramen, just before hitting 50s (つд;) ・Mini egg rice bowl set ¥530, the bowl with plenty of soup is delicious (・∀・) The udon also has a delicious broth, a standard deliciousness of Naniwa. However, both Higashi-dori and Ohdo are overflowing with young people. I hope for the future in this era m(_ _)m Feeling like that, the person in their late 40s finishes early at 20:30彡(^)(^) Thank you for the meal!

I was in East Umeda after my regular visit and feeling a bit hungry, so I decided to have something light to eat... and that's when I thought of having standing soba noodles \(//∇//\). I visited "Miyako Soba New Umeda Store"! It's a place where you can quickly enjoy soba and udon noodles. When I entered, two Osaka ladies were managing the place. Even after entering, they didn't notice me right away (lol). So I had to say, excuse me... I'll have the tempura soba, please! The soba noodles were boiled for about 20 seconds after being taken out of the bag. Then, flat tempura was placed on top, green onions were added, and broth was poured in to complete the dish \(//∇//\). The tempura... it wasn't shrimp! It was like a tempura fritter without any vegetables. I think in Kansai, this type of fried food is what they call tempura, right? First, I tried the broth... it had a strong flavor with a kick of bonito flakes. Slurping the soba noodles... yeah, they were bag noodles \(//∇//\). There wasn't much chewiness, but that's okay for standing soba noodles! As for the tempura... it was a traditional kind that gets tastier when dipped in the broth. I added some shichimi pepper and finished it all in one go \(//∇//\). Thanks for the meal.

I had always thought that there was a great soba restaurant in an amazing location, but it was a really small place. I visited for breakfast for the first time. The interior of the restaurant has about 5 standing seats. Next to the counter is the boundary between the counter and the kitchen (where the food is prepared), where I placed my order with the man working alone in the kitchen. I chose the chopped udon for 370 yen. The process involved boiling the noodles, draining them, putting them in a bowl, adding the chopped ingredients, and pouring the broth on top (completed dish). The chopped ingredients were packed in a separate container and there was plenty of it, which was nice when combined with the hot broth. The noodles were typical for a standing udon restaurant. The broth was a bit too concentrated, with the soy sauce flavor overpowering, making it on the stronger side. Thank you for the meal.

I have been to this Tsukiji Soba restaurant several times before, but I suddenly felt like eating Tsukiji Soba and decided to visit this branch in Higashi Umeda. It was a bit difficult to find the restaurant from Exit 1, but it was much easier from the M5 exit of Whity Umeda. This branch seems to offer mainly rice dishes like Katsudon as there were no ramen dishes available. The restaurant is run by a man and a woman, and the interior is small, but it is located in a prime location so it seems to attract many customers. They offer ginger tempura for 150 yen, as well as various other tempura options like shrimp, squid, carrot, onion, potato, green beans, and a luxurious mixed tempura with almost no ingredients in Stamina Soba. They also seem to have Nishin Soba, which is not commonly seen nowadays. Additionally, the restaurant seems to offer its own unique soba and udon dishes.

5 to 6 years ago, I used to travel to Osaka frequently, and I recently visited a restaurant where I used to have breakfast. I ordered a kake udon for 270 yen and a kakiage onigiri for 270 yen. The food was served in about 2 to 3 minutes after ordering. The udon had a delicious broth. The noodles were good, but the broth was especially tasty. You can't find udon of this quality at this price in Tokyo. The kakiage rice ball onigiri was also delicious. This is a restaurant that I always want to visit whenever I come to Osaka.

I decided to visit this shop located in the Higashi-dori Shotengai in Umeda for a quick lunch. The shop's selling point (or not) is that it has 6 open terrace seats. There are 4 standing seats inside the shop, so I guess the open terrace seats are the main ones. I visited around 12 pm on a weekday. There was already one customer each at the standing and terrace seats. I aimed for the terrace seat this time, and ordered the "Kani and Egg Ankake Udon for 600 yen". The other aim was this menu. Am I the only one who thinks that ankake and egg are the best combination? After a short wait, the udon arrived. There were five pieces of "hobokani" lined up. Have you ever eaten "hobokani" before? It's like a crab stick with a crab-like taste and texture. The idea of putting this on udon is great. The egg ankake broth had a great taste, with soft eggs and a thick consistency. Ankake and egg really are the best combination. The udon had a nice soft texture. It seemed to have some firmness compared to udon I've had in Hakata. Maybe because the udon there is the best soft udon in Japan. The major nationwide chains also offer similar egg ankake menus, but they are cheaper. However, only this shop has "hobokani", so if you want that, you have to choose this shop. Impressions of the open terrace seat: It's cold in winter (and probably hot in summer), it's nice to sit, but I feel a bit conscious of pedestrians' gazes. I couldn't help but think about the katsudon while looking at the photo, so I really want to try the katsudon next time. Thank you for the meal.

Lunch with a friend who is short on cash is best here. The school is nearby, the service is quick, and most importantly, it's cheap. Both of us eat a lot, so even though we won't feel stuffed, we can eat plenty for around 280 yen. The menu includes onigiri, inari sushi, soba, udon, kitsune, and tsukimi, so there are safe options available. Personally, I'm not a fan of standing while eating, but there are many salarymen who seem to be in a rush and want to eat quickly and leave. The place seems to cater to that need.

"I thought 'Miyako Soba' also had good ramen...so I decided to try ramen again two weeks later. This time, I wanted to try the salt ramen. Since there are three shops located relatively close to each other (with 'Shin-Umeda Store' a bit further away), I wanted to visit each one. This shop is very small inside, with chairs and tables lined up outside. However, it's located on a busy arcade street, so it felt uncomfortable eating while being stared at by passersby. Therefore, I ate standing up in the cramped shop. But you know what? This 'Shin-Umeda Store' doesn't have ramen. I carefully checked both the indoor and outdoor menus, but ramen was not listed. Oh well...I guess the ramen isn't going anywhere, probably, not a limited-time offer or anything. Oh well, I'll try the salt ramen next time. So, I switched my focus and ordered the katsu-don for 500 yen. Well, it filled me up. The taste wasn't particularly exciting though. Well, for 500 yen, I guess it's okay...I mean, you can get a tastier katsu-don for 500 yen. You can even get a katsu-don for less than 500 yen...no, let's stop. I should've just had the soba, while thinking about the next opportunity for ramen."

On October 17, 2020, for my birthday breakfast, I had standing udon (laughs). I came to Umeda in the morning. My purpose was to have "standing soba", but the shop I was looking for seems to have closed down. The location on the map turned out to be a coin parking lot, so I decided to have breakfast at this nearby shop. It's called "Miyako Soba". Although this shop has many outlets in the Kansai region, strangely, it doesn't show up on food review websites like Tabelog. I couldn't find the phone number, so I was lost in my search. Eventually, I found out the shop was called "Miyako Soba New Umeda Store". I usually have "kakiage" when I eat standing noodles, but this time I decided to try something different - sliced udon with seaweed topping for 450 yen. I wanted to have shredded kelp, but Miyako Soba didn't have it, so I settled for this option. The udon was topped with oboro kelp unexpectedly. There were also other toppings like seafood kakiage that I didn't expect. The shop has standing counters inside and a few tables outside. I chose to eat at the standing counter. I started by sipping the broth, which was delicious. Instead of my usual choice of soba, I went for udon this time. I've had standing noodles in Osaka a few times, and I started to think that maybe I should have udon in Osaka. And I must say, udon is also great! The sliced kakiage soaked up the broth nicely. While I usually enjoy big pieces of fried tofu in kitsune udon, the sliced kakiage allowed me to savor the simple taste of the broth. It was delicious!

When you come to Osaka, you often see "Miyako Soba" which is my first visit. It feels like the "Fuji Soba" in Kanto and the "Miyako Soba" in Kansai. This shop is a standing-eating place, but since it is under an arcade, you can sit outside to eat. First, we ordered the "kizami soba". "Kizami" is not a menu you often see in Kanto. My companion ordered the "kitsune udon". The food was served promptly, and we paid at the time of serving. The "kizami soba" is basically just finely chopped kitsune, but it doesn't have much flavor. The chopped soba noodles have absorbed the broth and expanded. The soba noodles may have been boiled too much. The kitsune udon had a strong dashi flavor and was delicious. It could be a good option for a satisfying meal after drinking.

I had some free time during work at the back of a building near Hankyu Umeda, so I decided to have lunch. I usually go for standing soba noodles at this chain when I'm in Kansai, as I don't know any other chains. I always get the "tempura soba" or "battera" here. It's like eating cup noodle tempura. But today, the taste seems off. It's so bland, almost like I can't taste anything. Maybe I'm not feeling well... (/_;)/~~

Last night, it was snowing lightly, so this morning is quite cold. After having a drink at the cold Osaka-ya counter, I headed to this place!! When it's cold, nothing beats TGS (standing soba) ( ̄▽ ̄)b!! I ordered a simple kake soba since I'm still in training. The noodles were quickly warmed up, drained, and served in less than 30 seconds. The kake soba costs 250 yen and consists of boiled noodles with a Kansai-style dashi broth flavored with bonito and kelp, topped with green onions. I decided to eat at the open terrace for the first time. It was cold, but eating soba outdoors in the crisp winter air was delicious. Slurping the soba and sipping the hot broth was enjoyable. However, the warm liquid and the spiciness of the shichimi pepper only made me feel colder. I quickly finished my meal in about 2 minutes. Despite eating soba to warm up, I ended up feeling even colder. I still had some time before the next place I wanted to visit opened, so I took a longer route to warm up. That's all. Thank you.

I stopped by for lunch today and ordered the "tanuki soba" for 360 yen. In Kansai region, "tanuki soba" is like the soba version of kitsune udon. It was a combination of bagged noodles and slightly lacking in broth flavor. Thank you for the meal.
