There are various things written here, but for me, this Italian restaurant is a highly rated place. From the main ingredients of vegetables, meat, and fish to even the small ingredients, everything has a delicate and refined taste!! If it were in Tokyo, I would definitely go there many times, but unfortunately it's a distant restaurant. I happened to stop by here by getting off at Kikonai Station to use the "circulating bus" on a trip to Donan (Esashi, Otobe Town) via the Hokkaido Shinkansen. Last year, I dared to order a fish-focused course for around 3000 yen, and they provided local fish that seemed to be available all year round, not the usual ordinary ones. From the soup to the dessert, everything was so delicious that this year, I decided to come back to this place in Kikonai again. (By the way, the grapefruit sherbet for dessert was quite impressive.) This year, due to the off-season, that course and the fish lunch were not available because the sea was rough, so I chose the pasta lunch and the "Amatriciana Rossa" which I don't usually choose. ← I'm not particularly fond of Amatriciana Rossa pasta, but the recommended pork looked very delicious, and I thought there might be a discovery here at this restaurant, so I chose it. It simply has pork in a sweet and sour sauce. This pasta is homely and rustic, which might be its selling point, but it was too homely that I felt like, "Hmm, what is this?" This was my impression of Amatriciana I had eaten before, but what I had at this restaurant was a perfect balance of umami and acidity... It also had green onions and chili peppers that intertwined perfectly, creating a "wonderful adult taste." I also tried the dessert, and there was something called "potato gelato," and I was torn between that and "tomato gelato" and chose the former for the simple reason that it's Hokkaido. It was like a slightly sweet and delicious vichyssoise, another taste that you want to keep savoring. Unfortunately, it's far away, so I can only go once a year. Next time, I want to make time to go there at night.
