How about having lunch at de’s in Kikonai? It is an Italian restaurant located inside Kikonai Michi-no-Eki. The interior is spacious with good sunlight. The menu mainly consists of Italian dishes, but they also offer Hikoma pork bowl. The name probably comes from using local ingredients from Doonan, so recipes featuring produce from Mori Town, Assabu, and Chitose are available. Considering the Shinkansen stopping nearby, it seems they cater to tourists from other prefectures. However, since there are few local specialties from Kikonai, locals may feel a bit disappointed to see dishes featuring produce from Mori Town. I had the Amatriciana pasta. It's a spicy tomato sauce pasta with bacon and onions. The mild taste and well-cooked sauce complement the pasta well. Thank you for the meal.

I visited Mokunai for the first time. I couldn't find a lunch spot, so I decided to enter the roadside station in front of the station. The menu here mainly consists of pasta and pizza. I tried the chef's recommended Amatriciana, a spaghetti dish with a thick cut of bacon in a spicy tomato sauce made from local onions. The A set comes with pumpkin soup and salad, which was a good deal. The soup was light and the vegetables were fresh. The bill came to 1,300 yen. Thank you for the meal. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is nice, making it a good option in the area. However, there were several reservations for private parties written on the storefront. It's safer to check in advance.

Title: Visiting Kikonai during a day trip in Hakodate During my trip in Hakodate, I decided to rent a car for a day and visit Kikonai. I only had information from the tourist pamphlet I received at Hakodate Station. The mention of Neapolitan in the pamphlet caught my attention, so I decided to give it a try. The Neapolitan dish was delicious, with plenty of sautéed vegetables and generous amounts of bacon or pancetta. The tomato ketchup seemed homemade and added a nice flavor to the dish. The pasta with soy sauce butter and mushrooms was also excellent, with a generous amount of mushrooms and butter. I opted for the set menu with salad and soup, but the salad was disappointing as it only had a few leaves. Overall, I had a great dining experience at this charming restaurant, even though I had no prior knowledge about it. I later found out that the chef, Okuda, from Alcachano in Yamagata, supervised the menu. I heard they also serve rare and exquisite wines, so I look forward to staying overnight in Kikonai next time. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

In a restaurant in Mokonai, I had a pasta set. The large clams in the vongole were juicy and firm, so delicious that I could eat as many as I wanted. Simple dishes like this really showcase the quality of the ingredients and the skill of the chef. The salt bread at the back of the pasta was also incredibly delicious.

I had a hard time choosing from the various pasta dishes made with ingredients from southern Hokkaido at Miso-gi no Sato in Kikonai, but I finally decided on the Miso-gi salt melange and homemade chicken confit peperoncino. The peperoncino, which was light and refreshing with plenty of Kikonai-grown seaweed, was delicious. The set also included the popular Coppen Michido's Pakupaku salt bread, soup, salad, and a drink, making it a great deal! This was my first visit to the restaurant at Mogamiuchi Michi no Eki. In addition to pasta, they also have pizza and other options. It seems like they have menu items that would be great as snacks with alcohol in the evening. I ordered the Peperoncino with meringue made of salt. I was happy to see that it came with the popular salt bread from the bakery here.

I used it for lunch with my family. Initially, it was difficult to use without a reservation, but today it is empty even though it is lunchtime. We ordered pasta and pizza, but both are better than family restaurants, but... at that level. I don't think I will visit again... Thank you for the meal.

I have visited the Michinoeki (roadside station) in Kikonai Town several times, and recently I finally noticed this restaurant tucked away in the back, so I decided to have lunch there. Looking at the menu, it seems that there are many dishes using local ingredients. I ordered the pasta with maitake mushrooms, which had a slightly light seasoning. Since the pasta is mainly made with maitake mushrooms carefully grown by farmers in Assabu Town, I thought maybe the seasoning was kept simple to bring out the flavor of the ingredients. The pork bowl had a slightly sweet sauce, but the meat was tender and delicious. If you add 300 yen to the pasta, you also get a salt bread from the neighboring shop Koppen Dodo, as well as soup, salad, and a drink, making it a very cost-effective menu. The restaurant has a chic atmosphere and is conveniently located near Kikonai Station, making it a user-friendly place. Thank you for the meal!

I'm back in Hokkaido after 2 years, yay! I couldn't go last year, so I'm really happy now. As usual, I'll be using a rental car to get around. I happened to stop by "Michi-no-Eki Misogi no Sato Kikonai" in Kikonai town. I had a light lunch at the restaurant in the roadside station. It was unexpectedly delicious! They serve Italian dishes using local ingredients like meat, seafood, and vegetables. The presentation of the Kikonai fresh fish pot-au-feu was so stylish and beautiful. The natural hirame fish was grilled to perfection with olive oil, and it was firm and tasty. Hokkaido always has delicious food. Thank you for the meal!

There are various things written here, but for me, this Italian restaurant is a highly rated place. From the main ingredients of vegetables, meat, and fish to even the small ingredients, everything has a delicate and refined taste!! If it were in Tokyo, I would definitely go there many times, but unfortunately it's a distant restaurant. I happened to stop by here by getting off at Kikonai Station to use the "circulating bus" on a trip to Donan (Esashi, Otobe Town) via the Hokkaido Shinkansen. Last year, I dared to order a fish-focused course for around 3000 yen, and they provided local fish that seemed to be available all year round, not the usual ordinary ones. From the soup to the dessert, everything was so delicious that this year, I decided to come back to this place in Kikonai again. (By the way, the grapefruit sherbet for dessert was quite impressive.) This year, due to the off-season, that course and the fish lunch were not available because the sea was rough, so I chose the pasta lunch and the "Amatriciana Rossa" which I don't usually choose. ← I'm not particularly fond of Amatriciana Rossa pasta, but the recommended pork looked very delicious, and I thought there might be a discovery here at this restaurant, so I chose it. It simply has pork in a sweet and sour sauce. This pasta is homely and rustic, which might be its selling point, but it was too homely that I felt like, "Hmm, what is this?" This was my impression of Amatriciana I had eaten before, but what I had at this restaurant was a perfect balance of umami and acidity... It also had green onions and chili peppers that intertwined perfectly, creating a "wonderful adult taste." I also tried the dessert, and there was something called "potato gelato," and I was torn between that and "tomato gelato" and chose the former for the simple reason that it's Hokkaido. It was like a slightly sweet and delicious vichyssoise, another taste that you want to keep savoring. Unfortunately, it's far away, so I can only go once a year. Next time, I want to make time to go there at night.

I arrived in Kikonai on the second day of my Tsuifun Soran Line journey from Matsumae. Kikonai, before the opening of the Shinkansen, I have visited many times, but now I can feel the benefits of the Shinkansen. The roadside station in front of Kikonai Station is bustling, especially on holidays. It's new and clean. I was interested in the Italian restaurant inside, so I decided to have lunch there. I ordered: - Mentaiko cream potato mochi gnocchi 980 yen - Bonito clam Vongole Bianco with the umami of Hokkaido's live clams 980 yen First, the Vongole Bianco arrived. It was surprisingly delicious for a roadside station. The clams were perfectly cooked, not tough at all. The soup was also good. However, the clams were not properly cleaned, and I got a gritty texture three times. That was disappointing. Then, another dish arrived, different from what I ordered... They said they would remake it, which would take 10 minutes. As an apology, they brought a mini salted bread. It was better than nothing. It was actually quite tasty, so I bought some from the adjacent store to take home. The gnocchi was indeed mochi-like, as the title suggests. It seems to be a collaboration with a nearby shop, but the gnocchi here is better. The cream sauce was delicious. Overall, the quality was high, but for a lunch at a roadside station, I wished the portion size could be more satisfying. They recommended a set when I ordered, which probably includes salad or bread, but even as a single dish, the price was quite high. It was tasty though.

I ordered the pasta course during lunch and was very satisfied with the unique flavors that I can't make at home. The accompanying salt bread was delicious, so I bought some more at Copain D'epice on the way back. What's more, I discovered Rouge from Nourakuza! They didn't offer wine by the glass, but I was told I could take the remaining wine home. Since my partner doesn't drive, they had a glass while I waited to drink mine at home. I unexpectedly found happiness (laughs). I was also impressed by the staff's passion for wine. I will definitely come back.
