"I'm glad I was born a woman!" is a phrase that comes to mind when I use women-only benefits. At Edohachi, every 29th of the month (Meat Day), the all-you-can-eat sukiyaki or shabu-shabu is half price for women, and I have been going there regularly for over 10 years, especially in the past few years, I go at least once every 1-2 months. However, the half-price all-you-can-eat deal will end in May this year. To avoid any regrets, I geared up for the battle! You can choose between domestic beef or American beef, and between sukiyaki or shabu-shabu. I have only tried American beef before because I like lean meat and don't mind thin slices. I tend to choose shabu-shabu because you can change the flavor with ponzu, sesame sauce, and chili oil. Also, shabu-shabu causes less stomachache and thirst the next day. If you go with multiple people, you can add both options for an additional fee. The meal starts with a plate of meat, vegetables, houtou noodles, and rice. I usually eat only the meat until the pot is ready. Then, I add all the vegetables and continue with the shabu-shabu. I ordered two plates of beef and one plate of pork, and when I started feeling full, I ordered more. I keep eating until I reach the endless mode. I like to alternate between ponzu sauce with green onions and sesame sauce with chili oil. Adding all the sauces at once when you start feeling full can increase your appetite. The restaurant suggests pouring the sauce over the meat and vegetables in the plate instead of putting it in the bowl first. This way, the flavor remains intact. I added more beef and pork when the beef started feeling heavy, as the pork adds sweetness and lightness. I also ordered more houtou noodles and finished with a delicious apricot sauce panna cotta dessert. The dessert was so good that I wanted seconds even though I was full. Overall, I had a great time and enjoyed the meal to the fullest. I will probably focus on having lunch there in the future, but the manager mentioned they are planning different events, so I look forward to that. If someone treats you, don't hesitate to go all out (laughs). I love the taste and the staff at this restaurant! Thank you for the meal!
