I had lunch at "Kogaraya" near Kuromon Market. The restaurant seems to mainly focus on takeout, as it was empty inside. I ordered a bottle of beer (530 yen), meat rolls (830 yen) which were hot and delicious, Karaage (530 yen) which was crispy and huge, Oyakodon (830 yen) with a mini side of soba (+150 yen). The rice portion was huge and the dish was very flavorful. The soba had a calming taste with a thin noodle.

After eating at the restaurant and feeling refreshed at Suehiro-yu, I found myself feeling a bit peckish. While walking and thinking that I didn't want to eat too much, I came across this shop. Upon researching, I found out that their "nikomi" (simmered meat) is also delicious. I decided to enter. I hesitated a bit, but ended up going upstairs. An elderly man was clearing tables, but ordering was done through a touch panel like in a family restaurant. The mismatch between the atmosphere of the shop and the ordering system was interesting. The nikomi had plenty of meat and was delicious. They also provided small packets of shichimi (seven spice) and sansho (Japanese pepper). It had a retro feel to it. It reminded me of the nikomi at Hige in Temma after a long time. I'm curious about trying their nabeyaki udon next time. Thank you for the meal.

This is a udon restaurant located just outside the arcade of Kuromon Market. Although their curry udon is famous, I chose the thin noodles for the beef tendon udon. It was served after a short wait. The broth was delicious as expected! The balance of the broth and curry was just right and it was to my liking. This was my first time choosing the thin noodles, which felt thinner than Inaniwa udon. The set came with an egg with a rich yolk, which when mixed with the curry and noodles, created a mild and enhanced flavor. I ordered a small portion of rice. When you pour a little broth over the beef tendon and egg, it can transform into a delicious curry rice. I would like to visit again.

We were planning to go to Sen to Sei for lunch to try their meat sukiyaki, but we had to give up due to the long line. However, since we had some time until our next appointment, we decided to give it a try. The restaurant was busy with frequent phone calls and takeout orders. The broth was flavorful and the thin noodles were delicious.

Nihonbashi: Kogaraya Kuromon-ten @kogaraya_abenoten
Omi black chicken oyakodon (800 yen) (comes with miso soup and pickles)
A simple oyakodon with just chicken and egg. It had plenty of juicy chicken meat and I loved the saucy texture. The flavor is on the sweeter side, with a rich and intense taste. The rich yolk on top was delicious. You can customize details like the amount of rice and set contents using the touch panel. There are so many delicious menu items that I, as an indecisive person, found it difficult to choose. The old-fashioned atmosphere of the restaurant is also great for dining. With 9 stores in the city, they seem to focus on delivery and takeout services as well.

The night ended with udon. Started with hot sake at Miho, then Kushira, and finished with Kogaraya at Fukutaro. Entered at 8:40 PM. It was a bit late for an udon restaurant with no customers before or after. Ordered the Buta-jiru zaru udon. It was like Musashino udon with a spicy sesame-flavored dipping sauce, more like a creative udon. Sipped Asahi beer while slurping the udon, feeling quite full after the fourth stop. Didn't want to drink more and get too drunk to go home, so this was the end of the day! Thank you for the meal.

When it comes to nikusui (meat dipping) in Osaka, Chitose is the first place that comes to mind. I didn't doubt it. In fact, I think many people are not familiar with other nikusui restaurants. Of course, I know Chitose, and it's impressive how famous they are for their nikusui. However, I heard about Kogaraya as another option for nikusui. Upon researching, it seemed like a mediocre chain. They say seeing is believing, so as soon as I arrived in Osaka, I went to Kuromon and visited Kogaraya. From the outside, it seemed unwelcoming and there were no customers. I decided to go in and ordered the nikusui without green onions. It felt like a place that mainly does takeout. The dish arrived. It looked delicious. I tasted it, and it was indeed delicious. The broth was exquisite. I was so absorbed in eating it that I finished it all. The next day, I confirmed the taste at Chitose and then went back to Kogaraya, this time trying the udon version. It was also delicious. The udon was not necessary, but the broth was still amazing. Without the udon, the broth remained clear and clean. The nikusui was still more delicious. Although it may look like there's sediment in the soup, it's not a bad thing. In fact, it adds to the flavor. I have to admit, I was surprised by how unexpectedly delicious it was!

The restaurant is located about a 1-2 minute walk south from Exit 9 of Nippombashi Station on the Osaka Metro. Upon entering, we were seated at a 2-person table on the first floor. We ordered the Kosuzumeya soba and mini Hiyakara don. Soon after, the soba and don were brought to us. The Kosuzumeya soba came with toppings such as kombu, kamaboko, rolled omelette, and green onions. The thin noodles were smooth and easy to eat, with a gentle flavor from the broth made of bonito flakes and kombu. The mini Hiyakara don had tempura crumbs and a simmered egg and onion topping on rice, seasoned with a sweet and savory broth. The combination of the flavorful egg and tempura crumbs with the texture of the green onions made the rice very enjoyable. You could also add some shichimi spice for an extra kick. I look forward to trying their udon next time. Thank you for the meal.

Hello. This is Shunmama. At the beginning of January, I planned to have lunch alone and decided to eat udon, but the restaurant I wanted to go to was closed (>_<). I went back to Kuromon Market and headed to Komayoshi, a different restaurant. I had eaten on the second floor before, but this time I was seated on the first floor. It seemed like 90% of the customers on the first floor were ordering takeout, and the tables in the back were set up for takeout orders. It was a bit cold, but I sat at a small table near the front. When I looked at the lunch menu, I was surprised to see that the curry udon set was only 800 yen?! I ordered it and later saw other customers also ordering the curry udon. After about 10 minutes, the steaming hot bowl of udon arrived, along with a wonderful smell of spices that whetted my appetite. I scooped up the piping hot udon, blowing on it several times, and enjoyed the flavorful curry broth filled with plenty of meat and spices. The set also came with a bowl of rice topped with a rich, orange-colored egg. It was a satisfying and warming meal with no complaints. I will definitely come back again. #Udon lunch #Kuromon lunch #Komayoshi #Komayoshi Udon #Curry Udon #Rice with egg #Rice with egg set #Lunch set #Great value for money #Osaka lunch #Osaka gourmet

The delivery bicycles lined up outside the store, indicating that it has become a ghost kitchen rather than a place where customers come in to eat udon. I tried the sesame miso udon for 850 yen including tax, which was spicy. A silver-haired delivery person was slumped over inside the store, while the female staff member seemed to have no motivation and was only working to raise funds for her band activities.

Duck bowl (small) and cold soba (small) for 700 yen. Great value, delicious, and satisfying. It might be a bit small for big eaters, but it's enough for most people. It's a great choice with high satisfaction. It's only three months until the Akō Rōshi Marathon in December, so I want to lighten up. Choosing two small dishes was a good call by Mr. Araki. Thank you for your 42 years of service. Mr. Kawamoto has been here for 32 years. Nowadays, with retirement age disappearing, you have to decide for yourself when to leave. The stories of old soldiers are sometimes enlightening. It was a good lunch.

At the workplace, there is a popular restaurant called Kogara-ya Kuromon-ten that offers a variety of daily specials, donburi, soba, and udon dishes, making it hard to choose. Although they have oyakodon, I couldn't find katsudon on the menu. When I placed my order, the staff was very accommodating, and my special order went through smoothly. I estimated the rice portion to be about one serving, which was just right as I plan to run 20km later in the evening. The taste of the katsudon was decent, although slightly on the pricier side at 1150 yen. It's convenient that they accept PayPay for payment, making it a handy place for a meal.

I visited there at 28:15. It is located inside Kuromon Market. The shop seems to have a lot of delivery orders... They are open until 11:00 to 30:00. On the 1st floor, the delivery staff seems to be quite busy. On the 2nd floor, there are 5 counter seats, 4 table seats, and 2 table seats. They accept PayPay. I ordered one set of Black Wagyu beef curry udon. It comes with Japanese Black Wagyu beef curry udon, a raw orange-colored egg yolk, rice, and pickles.

I went to the restaurant at 8:10 PM on March 20th. I had a bowl of bukkake soba and a pork rice set meal. It cost 900 yen. The bukkake soba had onsen tamago, chikuwa tempura, tenkasu, chopped nori, and green onions. The pork rice had meat, chopped nori, and green onions. Both dishes were delicious.

On April 6, 2018, I had dinner at Nihonbashi Kuromon Market! Don't let the coronavirus defeat you, let's enjoy at a restaurant that is not affected! I ordered the "Curry Udon Set (rice, raw egg, pickles)" for 800 yen. The chef of this restaurant is particular about each ingredient and is constantly experimenting on how to make the "Curry Udon" delicious. First, the soup is rich with a good dashi flavor. You can feel the chef's trial and error efforts. The taste is unique compared to other restaurants, but there is still room for improvement. The noodles are medium-thick straight Osaka noodles. In my opinion, if they switch to thinner noodles like Kyoto style with a bit more firmness, the noodles would blend better with the soup. Also, it might be good to cook the meat sweeter and spicier for stronger seasoning. Overall, it seems like a chain restaurant, but it has its own originality which is nice. It was really delicious. I've said a few things to think about. The price of 800 yen for a set with a raw egg is cost-effective. I will definitely visit again if I'm in the area.

Kuromon Market, Udon, Kosuzume-ya, is a famous restaurant even for takeout. I ordered Udon from Kosuzume-ya. It came with a topping of rolled omelette, fish cake, and kelp. The broth had a slightly strong flavor of sardines, and the noodles were firm with a noticeable saltiness, which I think is good!
