I often visit Uji-en. Today, after having lunch in Honmachi, I went shopping in Shinsaibashi. It was hot, so I thought about having shaved ice, but I wanted green tea, so I ordered a set with tiramisu. I usually choose Mont Blanc or tiramisu, but today I opted for hojicha tiramisu instead of matcha. I like the slight bitterness in it. Today's fresh chocolate had strawberry and yuzu flavors. I tried yuzu for the first time and it has a strong yuzu taste.

After having lunch, I felt hot and wanted to eat shaved ice, so I visited this place. I waited for a few groups, but was able to sit down in about 30 minutes. I ordered black honey kinako shaved ice and matcha Mont Blanc. The shaved ice had warabi mochi inside, which was chewy and matched well with the cold shaved ice. The Mont Blanc was delicious with a rich matcha flavor. I would like to try other menu items next time.

Shinsaibashi, a town right near Namba. Here, I tried Ujien's "Monte Verre Matcha". I saw on SNS that they pour freshly squeezed matcha Mont Blanc over ice, so I had to go try it. The shape of it is like, "Once you see it, you know it's the one from SNS!" and "Once you see it, you know it's delicious!" The taste is... The matcha is rich and delicious! I thought the freshly squeezed matcha Mont Blanc would be cold like the ice, but it's actually at room temperature. The combination of room temperature Mont Blanc and ice is amazing. Some might worry that it would be too much matcha, but it's not overwhelming. Next time, I might try the hojicha flavor.

I received matcha and hojicha flavored nama chocolate as Valentine's Day gifts. They are from a shop in Shinsaibashi, but it seems they were bought at a department store in Tokyo. Both were delicious, but I prefer the matcha flavor. The matcha one has a richer taste.

I had hojicha tiramisu, matcha, and tea-flavored chocolate. The tiramisu was incredibly rich and delicious! For just a little over 1000 yen, it was quite a deal! The matcha had a balance of bitterness and sweetness, and was very flavorful!

I've been curious about this shop for a while! The matcha Mont Blanc parfait was delicious with a strong matcha flavor! I liked that there were chewy mochi and red bean paste at the bottom! The warm hojicha tea was also delicious. They said you can pay with PayPay and settle the bill at your table, but it was a hassle because the staff didn't come over easily, so I had to go call them.

There are matcha, hojicha, and related Mont Blanc and shaved ice desserts available here, located in the shopping street of Shinsaibashi, making it a very easy-to-find location. It may take a bit of time for your order to come out, so it's more suited for those looking to enjoy a relaxed cafe experience than for those in a hurry. The matcha powder is very rich and aromatic. The shaved ice allows you to adjust the sweetness by adding your own syrup, which is quite nice. I would like to visit again.

You can observe how the dishes are made from the photo menu. You can choose from drinks like sencha, matcha, and hojicha. It's a bit pricey, but you can spend a relaxing time in the quiet and cozy interior. It's totally fine for a woman to visit alone.

I originally had a different plan to go to Shinsaibashi, but I had some time on the way back so I decided to go there. The appearance, entertainment value, and taste were all great. I was overwhelmed by how beautiful it looked. I don't often have the chance to go to Kansai, and when I go to Osaka, I end up wanting to go to Kyoto, but if I have the opportunity, I would like to go there again.

※This is a past article m(*_ _)m. I'm Kana, a tiramisu enthusiast (*^^*). Actually, I've had it many times... darn it (╯‵□′)╯︵┻━┻ (laughs). I'm addicted to Ujien's tiramisu, it's so creamy and delicious (´。✪ω✪。`). Initially, I was into matcha tiramisu, but lately I've been loving hojicha tiramisu too~♪

I arrived around 5:00 pm on a Saturday and had to wait for about 15 minutes due to the crowded interior. I had previously ordered "Black Honey Kinako Ice" and "Hojicha Milk Shigure," but this time I ordered "Matcha Shaved Ice." Ordering on a tablet is now common and convenient. It was a delightful experience with the cuisine and atmosphere of a Japanese cafe.

I eat shaved ice every year. The red beans come in a separate dish from the shaved ice, but there are also red beans inside the shaved ice. You can also pour syrup as much as you like, so it's nice to be able to adjust the sweetness. Since it's a tea shop, the matcha is really delicious. I topped it with matcha ice cream, which was also creamy and good. In addition to matcha, there is also hojicha shaved ice, which is equally delicious.

Montevert Matcha ¥750. My friend was supposed to move to Kanto so we had plans for a Kyoto kimono trip + matcha tasting before that, but they unexpectedly canceled. So, as a revenge and to make up for it, the remaining group of friends went. A matcha Mont Blanc overflowing with flavor. I couldn't eat it last time, so I truly savored its deliciousness. I was very satisfied, but I still want to enjoy the taste in its rightful place, so I will definitely go back in a good season for revenge.

Uji-en 2021 Limited Edition Fresh Chocolates BH (Matcha Banana Hojicha, Hojicha Fresh Chocolates) A cute two-tone fresh chocolate has been born! The 2021 limited edition features a cute yellow and brown two-tone fresh chocolate with "banana" and "hojicha" flavors! You can enjoy the flavor tea that marries in your mouth. I purchased it at Amour du Chocolat held at Nihonbashi Takashimaya ♪ I was interested in Uji-en's fresh chocolate, so I chose this variety with various flavors and chestnut hojicha. Although it is hojicha, chestnut hojicha allows you to enjoy hojicha in a different way as it is mainly hojicha, giving a sense of the depth and bitterness of hojicha. It is not too strong, so it is recommended for tea lovers! It melts densely in your mouth, smooth and relatively thick but restrained.

Uji-en's Chestnut Roasted Green Tea Chocolate is a popular two-layered chocolate pairing roasted green tea and chestnut flavors. The elegant sweetness of chestnut and the fragrant aroma of roasted green tea can be enjoyed simultaneously. The texture is slightly firm at first but slowly melts in the mouth, with the roasted green tea providing a strong bitterness that is balanced out by the rich sweetness of white chocolate. The chestnut adds a soft, yet noticeable, touch to the overall experience.

In the heart of Shinsaibashi, there is Ujien, a place that everyone must have passed by on the Shinsaibashi-suji shopping street. Even though I knew about its existence, I never really ate traditional Japanese sweets, so I never thought I would actually visit Ujien. They have Mont Blanc desserts that are freshly made right in front of you, located on the second floor at the café called Kissa Uto. I thought they only had tea-flavored options, but they also have regular chestnut ones! I really want to go there! I wasn't sure how crowded it would be, so I went a little before the 12 o'clock opening time. Even on weekends, there were only 2 or 3 groups waiting, no long lines suddenly forming. When I entered, I was surprised by how spacious it was. It had a depth that I didn't expect from the outside. There are sofas and tables where you can relax. The height is just right for easy eating. I ordered the "Smiling Mont Blanc with Coffee" set for 1200 yen (excluding tax). This Mont Blanc series has three flavors: plain, roasted green tea, and matcha. When you order one of these, the staff will ask if you want to watch them make it. They brought me over to watch before they started squeezing. The freshly squeezed chestnuts were so fresh and delicious. Inside, there was cream and sponge cake, with hidden chestnuts in the cream. "Smiling Mont Blanc" is a perfect name; I couldn't help but smile while eating it. Instead of water, they served warm roasted green tea, which was a nice touch for a tea shop. I can't handle traditional Japanese sweets, but the tea was delicious. I had a great time chatting with my friends in a relaxed atmosphere. It was a wonderful café experience. Thank you for the meal.

I tried the Mont Blanc-style matcha soft serve from Uji-en in front of Shinsaibashi Daimaru! There was a line of teenagers or fashionable young people, probably because it's popular on Instagram. They offer matcha and hojicha flavors. You pay first, receive a ticket, and then hand it to the staff to make your soft serve. It's a waffle cone with matcha soft serve (from Nissei) topped with matcha cream in a Mont Blanc style. It's fun to watch them squeeze the cream on top. It looks great for social media, but personally, I found the matcha flavor a bit weak compared to some Kyoto shops. Also, at 750 yen for takeout, it's a bit pricey. Overall, it's a trendy spot that successfully attracts young customers through Instagram. Thank you for the treat!

My daughter couldn't pass by and insisted on entering the store! She saw someone with Mont Blanc ice cream and asked, "Where can I get that?" She was so excited and wanted to try it immediately! This was my first time entering the store even though we pass by often. My daughter was thrilled! They squeeze the ice cream right in front of you, so it's a great performance! I ordered Mont Blanc, parfait, and coffee, and everything was delicious! Not too sweet, with a delightful tea flavor. The combination of matcha and Mont Blanc was perfect! There is a cafe space on the second floor where we could relax and enjoy our tea. It's easy to find, just a short walk from Shinsaibashi Station. My daughter, who knows tea ceremony, wanted to make tea at home, so we bought tea and sweets as souvenirs. Looking forward to enjoying them at home!
