I wanted to treat my friend who came to Osaka for sightseeing to some kushikatsu, so I chose this restaurant. It is famous for its kushikatsu and I found the unique signage outside the store interesting. We were able to get in without waiting in line before noon on a weekday. The interior of the restaurant is clean and has a bright atmosphere. Ordering was smooth as we scanned the QR code at our table. The sauce was served on top of the kushikatsu instead of for dipping. We ordered items like mochi (130 yen + tax), natural shrimp (260 yen + tax), stretchy cheese dog kushikatsu (260 yen + tax), lotus root (130 yen + tax), original kushikatsu (130 yen + tax), chicken breast with plum and shiso (200 yen + tax), and chewy ice cream kushikatsu (200 yen + tax). The food came out quickly after we ordered. The batter was not too thick and had a crispy texture, and the sauce was sweet and savory, making it easy to eat. They also had unique items like the cheese dog kushikatsu, and we enjoyed the variety of options. I think it's a great place for tourists to enjoy Kansai specialties in a clean and efficient environment. I will definitely come back when I take someone else sightseeing in Osaka.

When it comes to Osaka, it's all about kushikatsu! There are many kushikatsu restaurants, so you can easily find a place with no wait. Maybe because it's a tourist spot? The operation is really good, and you can quickly enjoy hot and crispy kushikatsu. Personally, the deep-fried ice cream is a must-try. It's a dream come true for those who love sweets.

We went to Osaka with about five people and decided to try Daruma-san for some kushikatsu. The aroma of lard was delicious, but it can feel a bit heavy once it cools down because it's animal fat, not vegetable oil. It's best to eat it while it's hot!

Despite being from Osaka, I visited Daruma for the first time in my life. I was invited by a friend, but I always avoided it because there was always a long line. When I arrived around 9pm, I was seated within 5 minutes, which was quite different from what I had imagined. The speed of service was fast and the quality of the food was high, which impressed me. The taste of the alcohol was a bit subtle, which was disappointing. However, I was satisfied with the Osaka-style kushikatsu. The doteyaki from the speed menu was delicious and I would definitely order it again on my next visit. I would like to visit again.

On July 24, 2023 (Tuesday), it was clear weather around 9 pm. I visited a tempura skewer restaurant and ate 11 skewers of beef, fillet, pickled ginger, and more. The restaurant is known for not allowing double dipping, but there are no containers for dipping in the first place. The atmosphere of the restaurant was geared towards foreign tourists, not just the customers but also the staff.

There was a festival going on and there were many things I wanted to eat, but I felt like I had to have kushikatsu, so I decided to stop by. I sat at the counter and used the mobile ordering system, which was convenient because I didn't have to flag down a server. Here's what I ordered: yuzu plum wine with soda, cabbage, Dotombori set, original kushikatsu, natural shrimp, rice cake, asparagus, quail egg, pork cutlet, chicken meatball, wiener sausage, cheese fish cake, kimchi, pickled ginger, rice cake with cheese and bacon, squid, shishito pepper, plum shiso roll. I didn't know you were supposed to eat it with cabbage, but thanks to the cabbage, I was able to keep eating. If I was hungry, I could probably eat around 20 sticks. I prefer seafood and vegetables over meat kushikatsu, so it feels healthier to me. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I arrived in Osaka! I was recommended a delicious kushikatsu restaurant, but I decided to try a famous one for now. A local from Osaka told me to make sure to try the doteyaki, so I ordered it along with the kushikatsu. It's like a stewed offal dish in Kanto region. The doteyaki was indeed delicious. It had a sweet miso flavor and was packed with ingredients. The kushikatsu was small with a light batter, easy to eat in one bite. The sauce was for dipping. It felt reassuring in this day and age. I ordered a few more kushikatsu with ingredients that caught my eye and decided to try another kushikatsu restaurant. The kushikatsu wasn't exactly what I expected at first, but it was a good start.

Whenever I go, it's always delicious!! It was a miracle that we were able to get in without waiting on a Saturday afternoon. There were five of us! We ate until we were full! Everything we ate was delicious. However, I was surprised to find out that the cabbage, which used to be free, now costs 100 yen. But cabbage is a must, so of course we ordered it! I definitely want to go again!

On Saturday after 8 o'clock, there were more than 10 people in line. It was not as crowded as the nearby Dotonbori store, so we chose this one. The basement was under construction, so only the first floor was open. We ordered using QR codes. The prices were low, so we ended up ordering a lot, but the food came out quickly and we were able to eat at a good pace. The sauce came in a container similar to mayonnaise, so you could put on as much as you liked. Each order came in a tray. Since everything was freshly fried and the batter was crispy with a good flavor, we enjoyed the meal very much.

This is one of the chain stores of Kushi-katsu Daruma. I do not recommend this store. Other Daruma stores are good, but this one is not. The service from the staff is sloppy. The way they fry the kushi-katsu is sloppy. There is too much oil on the kushi-katsu. As it is the main store, it is always crowded with customers, and they prioritize quick turnover, resulting in poor customer service and quality. It's a shame.

After a long time, I had a job near Hozoji Temple! There were customers within walking distance, so I decided to grab a bite to eat before that. The ramen I was aiming for had a long line, so I had to change my plans. I thought, "Hmm, let's go for some deep-fried skewers instead!" I found a place and luckily a table at the back just opened up. I could have ordered individual skewers, but I decided to go for a set instead. I ordered the Dotonbori Set, which came with 9 skewers. When asked for a drink, I requested Oolong tea, but I noticed most people around me were drinking alcohol. Since I was on a work assignment, I stuck with tea. The skewers arrived after a while, and among them, I particularly love the sausage skewer. It's been a favorite of mine since my time in Osaka. I saved it for last and enjoyed it thoroughly. Overall, everything was delicious! The shrimp and scallops were tasty, and the crispy texture of the skewers was delightful. It's a rule not to dip the skewers twice, but I didn't need to since they were already well-seasoned. Thank you for the meal!

Actually, it was my first time trying kushikatsu. I thought it would be more filling, but it's surprisingly light and crispy, almost like eating potato chips. The sauce is also mild and refreshing. I could easily eat more if the ingredients were different. But I probably wouldn't eat it in Tokyo.

While on the way back home, we made a quick stop in Osaka and decided to tour around Shinsaibashi because my wife had never seen the Glico sign before. We were craving some kushikatsu, so we searched for a place and found a kushikatsu restaurant that also served our favorite dish, chicken liver sashimi. We didn't hesitate to go in and ordered some chicken liver sashimi and assorted kushikatsu, then toasted with beer. It was a moment of pure happiness.

I visited for lunch on the first day of my trip to Osaka. It was past 2:00 PM, but there were still many customers. When it comes to Osaka, it's all about kushikatsu, and when it comes to kushikatsu, it's all about Daruma, so I went to the main store! There were many types of kushikatsu, and they were crispy and very delicious. Before I knew it, I had eaten a lot, haha. The sound of the trains coming and going was just amazing.

I went there around 2 PM on Saturday. I had to wait for about 10 minutes before being seated at a table in the basement. The seats were cramped and the tables were small, so it's better to go light. I enjoyed trying new dishes like garlic sautéed chicken breast, octopus, and pickled ginger.

GW in Osaka... Dotonbori is packed with people. Waited for about 30 minutes to get inside the restaurant. Every piece of kushikatsu was delicious. The majority of customers inside seemed to be tourists from Korea or China, as I hardly heard any Japanese spoken, which added to the atmosphere. Kushikatsu with beer and lemon sour is the best... After leaving the restaurant, I encountered a friendly cat at Hozenji Temple right in front of me, making my trip back home even more satisfying.

I prefer Daruma over high-end kushikatsu. I really dislike a certain chain restaurant in the Kanto region. I envy people in Osaka who can always eat delicious kushikatsu! The batter is just different, right? I could eat as many as I want. I also love the sauce. I ate until I was full.

Visit on Thursday at 19:15. There were four of us and luckily we were able to find a table at this popular spot for tourists. We were taken to a restaurant known as the originator of kushikatsu. We ordered the Shinsekai Set for 2400 yen, which includes 15 kushikatsu skewers, doteyaki, kimchi, edamame, and a choice of one additional dish. The kushikatsu skewers included beef, shrimp, rice cake, asparagus, quail egg, pork cutlet, chicken meatball, wiener, cheese fish cake, chicken tempura, sweet potato, cheese, lotus root, octopus, and pike conger eel. The kushikatsu was fried in lard, giving it a rich flavor without being too heavy. We ended up ordering an additional 5 skewers because they were so delicious. The style now is to pour the sauce over the skewers instead of dipping them. I visited the original store of "Kushi Katsu Daruma Namba" around 2:30 in the afternoon. I ordered the Hozenshi course, which includes dote-yaki and 12 pieces of deep-fried skewers. Every skewer was delicious.

After the live show ended and it was late at night, I wanted to eat something Osaka-like since I was on a trip there. I stumbled upon a restaurant near Dotonbori and managed to order just before their last call. I enjoyed the skewers by myself, which was enough. I remembered visiting a different Daruma restaurant with my family a long time ago where we dipped the skewers in sauce, so it felt a bit lonely to see they now come with the sauce already on them. But the taste was amazing. I was glad I hurried to get there.
