I brought someone who has been taking care of me to this restaurant because they came to Osaka. My favorite thing about this place is its location in Hozenji Yokocho, where you can enjoy Osaka's specialty okonomiyaki. It's a rare and charming spot in Osaka, and visitors to the city will surely appreciate it. The menu is based on choosing your own ingredients, but it can be difficult to know what flavors will result from your choices. To help with this, they provide recommended combinations. They also offer teppanyaki, which we enjoyed as an appetizer while waiting for our okonomiyaki. Both the teppanyaki and okonomiyaki were delicious. I mentioned the great atmosphere of Hozenji Yokocho, but of course, if the okonomiyaki didn't taste good, I wouldn't recommend it. Good atmosphere, good taste. I will definitely visit again.

I was taken to Sanpei in Hozoji Yokocho, which has a nice atmosphere. The restaurant has a good appearance. We ordered beer and enjoyed suji negi konjac, yakisoba, and horumon. The dishes came out very quickly, almost too fast. The horumon yaki arrived first, in about 5 minutes. By the time we finished, they brought out okonomiyaki and yakisoba. The suji negi konjac was a unique combination that I haven't tried elsewhere, and it was very delicious!! Just these dishes were enough to make us quite full.

This week, the humidity in Namba, Osaka is really pushing the limits. It feels like even tourists are avoiding crowded shops due to the heat. This is a chance to head to Hozenji Yokocho and try out "Hozenji Sanpei." I ordered the popular "Sujinegi Konnyaku" for the first time, along with the spicy mayo shrimp as a beer snack. The large prawns are cooked on a hot plate with mayo and chili oil, creating a delicious dish. The "Negiyaki" is made with green onions, suji, and konjac on top of okonomiyaki batter, topped with Hozenji Sanpei's special bonito flakes. The combination of flavors is amazing, with the crunchiness of the green onions and the savory bonito flakes. The dish is seasoned perfectly, making it a must-try menu item. The saltiness complements the beer perfectly. Let's overcome the lingering summer heat with delicious food like this!

This is my first time visiting this restaurant! There was a long line outside, mostly made up of foreign visitors. I waited for about 20 minutes to get inside. The restaurant was also filled with mostly foreign customers. The okonomiyaki I ordered was fluffy, fragrant, and delicious. The service was a bit lacking. Thank you for the meal!

I visited the restaurant before 12:00 on Saturday. Behind the heavy door was a calm atmosphere. The tables were full, so I sat at the counter. By 12:00, the place was packed. I ordered the most popular suji konnyaku negi okonomiyaki and yakisoba. The yakisoba came out in about 5 minutes. I enjoyed the simple and delicious yakisoba while watching the okonomiyaki being cooked. The okonomiyaki was also satisfying and delicious.

I was lucky to get in line at a popular okonomiyaki restaurant where there is always a long queue. The okonomiyaki had a slightly sweet sauce and was delicious! Personally, I thought the yakisoba was the MVP. The harami-yaki and yakisoba came out quickly, so it was nice to have something to snack on before the okonomiyaki was served.

On rainy days, it's the perfect weather for okonomiyaki (^O^)❒’’ With customers flowing into the arcades and tenant shops, the chances of getting into popular outdoor shops are higher. That's why I headed to Sanpei in Hozenji Yokocho. Even if the table seats are full, you can sneak into the counter if you're alone, which is a great feeling. Today, I had the "Chicken and Asparagus Butter Yaki" and the "Mixed Yaki (Pork, Shrimp, Squid) Okonomiyaki." The chicken was tender and the buttery taste was unique to Sanpei. It was really delicious and went well with beer. This was my first time trying the mixed okonomiyaki and it was amazing. The shrimp was huge and juicy, making me excited. When I saw that the same shrimp was also in the yakisoba, I immediately decided to try it next time. Yummy (^O^)❒’’

I had a reason to visit Osaka. When I think of Osaka, I think of okonomiyaki or takoyaki, so I researched and made a reservation at this restaurant. There was a long line even before they opened... Reservation is a must. I tried two types of okonomiyaki (1st and 3rd in the rankings) and yakisoba. They bring the freshly cooked dishes to your table. It was fluffy and delicious, but not quite mind-blowing. Maybe I raised my expectations too high because of the long line. Nevertheless, Namba is really crowded. I was surprised by the number of people, similar to Harajuku or Shibuya.

I used this restaurant during my trip to Osaka. I lined up before opening and was able to enter the restaurant right when it opened. The food was delicious and the alcohol went down smoothly. The restaurant quickly became crowded after opening. I would like to visit this restaurant again.

I was able to finish work early, so I was able to enter the restaurant without waiting in line right after it opened. I ordered the "Hormone Yaki" and "Okonomiyaki" that the person next to me had ordered last time, which smelled delicious. I enjoyed the sweet and spicy hormone dish and the perfectly spicy kimchi, alternating between bites while enjoying my beer. The side dishes being prepared in front of the counter by other customers all looked delicious. The omelette-like dish with shimeji mushrooms and spinach looked especially appetizing. The okonomiyaki had a fluffy sweet batter, a delicious bonito flavor, and a sauce with just the right amount of sweetness that all paired perfectly together. It was a delicious meal!

Most likely, the okonomiyaki here is mostly made up of ingredients like cabbage, with the flour (batter) serving as a binding agent. Because of this, it doesn't feel heavy when eating, and can be enjoyed easily. The side dishes are also very delicious. The location is great, right next to Hozenji Yokocho, with a nice atmosphere in the heart of a tourist area, making it a perfect place to entertain friends visiting Osaka.

To Sanpei at Hasshoji Yokocho, the double-grilled bonito flakes were amazing! It was fun to watch from the beginning of grilling to the finished product. I was surprised when you put the bonito flakes on before flipping it back to grill. And when the second batch of bonito flakes was added at the end, I could enjoy the double aroma of grilled bonito and flower bonito. The savory scent of bonito flakes for the first time got me excited. The sauce wasn't too sweet, and the sweetness of the cabbage matched well with the flavor of the pork. The pork was thick and the shrimp was firm and juicy, and the side dishes also smelled delicious and looked appetizing. I want to go back again!

On this day, I went to Namba with my daughter for some errands. We went out for lunch with three people and luckily got in quickly. We started with a draft beer for 600 yen and had yakisoba for 770 yen, which had squid and pork in it with slightly thick noodles and a solid sauce. We also had the specialty horumon stir-fry for 990 yen, which was so good that it made us keep ordering more beer. I wish they had a small rice option because the sauce left over on the rice must be delicious. We also ordered the dish with beef tendon, leeks, and konjac for 1430 yen, which was fluffy with a hint of leek aroma. It reminded me of the okonomiyaki I had somewhere before. It was a well-balanced dish that was enjoyable to eat with the sauce. Osaka's flour dishes are really good. Thank you for the meal!

From the West Osaka gourmet tour to the Minami gourmet tour, this is the second stop, and the sixth stop overall. Unfortunately, the restaurant I wanted to go to was closed early, but I found this place nearby and decided to give it a try. I had spinach stir-fry, octopus kimchi, tonpeiyaki yakisoba, and enjoyed every bite. The concept of "eating to lose weight" is what I follow as I enjoy my food journey. Currently 41.9kg, aiming for 40.9kg by October. Feel free to check out my Instagram at @kanae.0402. Thank you!

On the last day of the three-day weekend in July, I visited the restaurant around 12 o'clock and waited in line for about 20-30 minutes to enter. I ordered the most popular okonomiyaki (with motsu, negi, and konjac), special omu soba (with cheese), sesame tofu, and Caesar salad. The sesame tofu was so-so, and the Caesar salad was a bit disappointing as it was mostly okonomiyaki ingredients. As for the main dish, the okonomiyaki was delicious, but it may vary depending on personal preference. I personally prefer seafood, so I liked the special omu soba more! I was discussing with the person I went with that the sauce must be different from Tokyo! I would like to come back for the special omu soba!

I was able to enter at the right timing without waiting for the second rotation (๑•̀⌄ー́๑)b The hormone stir-fry was delicious ( -`ω-)✧ The okonomiyaki was just okay (・ω・) The garlic butter fried rice was like a garlic butter fried rice? It was around 660 yen and it was enough for two servings!!━( .゚ω゚ )━!! I thought, it's okay to leave it if I can't finish it, so I ordered it, and surprisingly, it was pretty good (´-∀-`) Prince also said it was delicious, but as expected, he gave up after eating half of the okonomiyaki (๑´∀`๑)ア'`'`'` I ordered the mixed one, but when I tried Prince's pork and cabbage okonomiyaki, it was delicious ŧ‹”( ˙༥˙ )ŧ‹” Simple okonomiyaki was tastier ♡ The tonpei-yaki also looked beautiful and delicious (´。✪ω✪。`)✧*。Thank you for the meal♡

A well-established okonomiyaki restaurant in Minami Hozenji Yokocho. This area tends to attract more tourists than locals. The restaurant serves classic Kansai-style okonomiyaki with fluffy batter and various ingredients. The recommended topping is beef tendon, green onions, and konjac, but when I tried it, it was quite undercooked... I couldn't really give it a good rating. There are other popular menu items as well, and people from Tokyo seemed to enjoy it, but I wonder if locals would agree?

After taking photos of the cats at Hozanji Temple, I decided to stop by this place on a whim. I was alone, but it was not crowded at all. The storefront may seem a bit intimidating, but there was no problem at all. Surprisingly, there were many young customers. Inside, there were counter seats and table seats. Since I was alone, I sat at the counter. The female staff in the hall was unique. I was waiting for my order at the counter. Their customer service was fantastic, not because they were good at talking, but because of their subtle gestures and lovely smiles. The chefs were also doing a great job. They seemed to take pride in their work. I ordered pork okonomiyaki and regular okonomiyaki, along with some beer. The beer arrived quickly after ordering. The pork okonomiyaki took about 5-10 minutes to cook. The regular okonomiyaki took around 15 minutes because it's challenging to evaporate the moisture properly. First, the pork okonomiyaki. It was cooked right in front of me, and everything from the egg to the meat to the flipping made my mouth water. It looked delicious, and it was indeed delicious. It had a simple and rustic taste, with a touch of craftsmanship. Next, the regular okonomiyaki. It was decent, but it could have been even better if they had evaporated more moisture from it. The balance between the sauce and the batter was not bad. I quickly finished my meal and it was delicious. I will definitely visit again because there are many other dishes I want to try!

This is a okonomiyaki restaurant located near a famous confectionery shop. It was always crowded with customers. Everything was delicious. According to locals in Osaka, it is a classic okonomiyaki. It was so good that all the photos I took were of half-eaten dishes. The tonpeiyaki and horumon yaki were also delicious!

I had made an online reservation for lunch on Saturday, but the restaurant was empty due to the pandemic. The area around Dotonbori was also quiet and it felt a bit lonely. However, the okonomiyaki here was incredibly delicious, so I was very satisfied! I highly recommend it. In Osaka, the okonomiyaki is cooked by the staff and served to you, so you patiently wait for it to be ready. On the other hand, in Tokyo, you mix the ingredients in a bowl and cook it yourself, which can be fun too. Both styles have their charm, but having it made by a professional is the way to go.
We ordered the okonomiyaki with beef tendon, green onions, and konjac, as well as yakisoba (a must-try!), hormone stir-fry, and beer. First, the hormone stir-fry goes perfectly with beer! The sweet and savory flavor, along with the kimchi on the side, makes it a non-stop beer experience. The okonomiyaki that followed had plenty of beef tendon and green onions, very filling! It was so delicious that I finished it in no time. I was hesitant about ordering yakisoba at an okonomiyaki restaurant, but apparently, it's common in Osaka, so I gave it a try. It had a lot of cabbage in it, which was nice. Everything was delicious! If you're in Osaka, you must try the okonomiyaki.

At the second place we went to, even though we were almost done eating, they still let us order more because we wanted to eat a little more♡ I liked the mix of flavors in the sashimi or bonito. The texture was firm yet fluffy. It was towards the end, but I remember chatting quite a bit with the staff across the counter. Thank you for the meal! (•́✧•̀)
