I ordered the tonkatsu set meal. It cost 900 yen. Before ordering, I honestly thought it was a bit expensive, but when the food arrived, I was satisfied. It was really luxurious haha. And the taste was quite delicious. The tonkatsu was crispy. Plus, you can get free refills of rice and even free coffee. I definitely want to go back again.

I revisited the restaurant because I wanted to have coffee after the meal. It seems that the prices have gone up by about 100 yen, but the cost performance is still good. I was aware of the discount on the fish set meal on Fridays, but upon closer inspection, I noticed that the beef bowl is priced at 650 yen on Thursdays with a poster displayed, and the price has remained the same. I would like to visit again.

A cozy cafeteria near Rokumonmatsu Station on the Nanakuma Line subway. Located on the first floor of a weekly mansion called "Business One Rokumonmatsu," behind the courthouse. The exterior is not very noticeable except for the sign of "Rokumonmatsu Shokudo." The interior is spacious and simple, resembling a company cafeteria. The tables are well spaced out. During lunchtime, it gets crowded with business people in the area, but it quietens down after 1 pm. They also offer free self-service coffee, so you can relax if you have some extra time. While Rokumonmatsu has many trendy shops, none offer as much space as this place. It seems to be popular among local seniors as well. Currently, they only operate during lunchtime. Although it is a cafeteria, they have a good selection of fish dishes. The menu may vary depending on the ingredients, but they offer sashimi set meals and seafood bowls. The Yellowtail sashimi set meal costs 1,100 yen, with a generous amount of yellowtail sashimi. It is a regular menu item. They also have set meals with meat/fried food and curry rice, which would please office workers. The special fried chicken set meal made with chicken thigh costs 900 yen. I asked for a small portion of rice, but you can have unlimited refills. The large fried chicken pieces are crispy and satisfying to eat. Since it is made with chicken thigh, it is juicy and flavorful. The miso soup contains fish, seaweed, and wheat gluten. The side dishes include simmered hijiki with soybeans, cold tofu, and a small jelly for dessert. In the self-service corner, there are two types of pickles. The staff members are friendly and provide excellent service, making the dining experience comfortable. I am curious about trying the large fried oyster set meal next time. They also hold a "Rainbow Children's Cafeteria" event on the second Wednesday night of every month as part of their social contribution activities. It is open to children up to junior high school students, with preschoolers requiring adult supervision. The fee is free for children and 200 yen for accompanying adults. Adults over 70 can also participate for 200 yen. *Please confirm details.

This is a cafeteria located near the Nanakuma Line Ropponmatsu Station and the courthouse. It offers a spacious and cozy dining space where fried dishes, curry, and fish set meals are popular. You can have unlimited rice refills and free coffee. It is considered a high-value cafeteria overall. It is located on the first floor of a monthly mansion called "Business One Ropponmatsu," which seems to be an affiliated facility. Of course, it is open to the general public as well. The exterior is not very noticeable from the street, but many people working nearby were seen visiting. The interior is simple and spacious, more like a company cafeteria. There is even a small courtyard, allowing plenty of natural light and creating a pleasant atmosphere. In Ropponmatsu, where small eateries are common, having such a spacious place is a delight. The tables and seats are generously spaced, allowing groups to relax comfortably. The regular lunch menu includes set meals for 800 yen each and homemade curry rice for 550 yen. Rice refills are free, and self-service coffee is included. On the day of the visit, the daily lunch menu options were Kampachi sashimi set meal for 950 yen, conger eel fry set meal for 950 yen, grilled mackerel set meal for 900 yen, and thick-cut pork cutlet set meal for 1,200 yen. Before the ordered dishes arrive, you can enjoy self-service chilled tea. There is also a pickles corner with daikon radish and takana pickles. The conger eel fry set meal for 950 yen was ordered, which is rare to find as most eel dishes are usually simmered or tempura. The eel was thick and had a resilient texture. The side dishes included bean thread salad, chilled tofu, and jelly dessert. The miso soup had fish scraps in it. The thick-cut pork cutlet set meal for 1,200 yen had a crispy and fragrant coating. The meat was lean with a light texture. After the meal, coffee was enjoyed at a leisurely pace. Plus, for an additional 100 yen, there was a self-service corner with unlimited black tea. Various tea leaves were available. Every Friday is "Fish Friday," offering discounted fish set meals. It's a rare find in Ropponmatsu to have sashimi or fish dishes in a set meal, so it's a treat. I would love to try the seafood bowl! Thursdays feature bowl dishes on the menu. The restaurant is located on the first floor of an apartment building, has good value for money, and has a casual atmosphere like a school cafeteria, making it easy to drop by. The fish dishes are popular, and Fridays are a good deal, but when I visited at 1 pm after finishing work, the fish was sold out. Today, I had the tonkatsu set meal for 800 yen. It was a satisfying meal as always. Next time, I will go earlier to make sure I can get the fish set meal.

Rokubonmatsu Shokudo is a restaurant that offers a fish special every Friday! The set meal is only ¥650, great value for money! Normally, they serve sashimi set meals, but today I felt like having fried food. Many people around me ordered the sashimi set meal. Today's mixed fry was sardines and horse mackerel. It was a disappointment! I should have stuck with the sashimi... The fish was thin and I felt like there wasn't enough food. But for ¥650, it's understandable. Also, today's miso soup was fish head soup. It was a bit fishy... I'll have to wash it down with coffee after the meal. Just a heads up, the taste is average, so if you have high expectations, you might be disappointed. But you can't go wrong with the sashimi set meal or salt-grilled fish. Fridays are popular, so it's better to line up by 11:30. There were 8 groups lined up today. Even if you add extra side dishes, it's still ¥650 because it's affordable. You can have unlimited rice and coffee refills.

Took a day off on a regular Friday and wandered around Rokumonmatsu in the height of summer. It was so hot that my appetite was on the decline... There were a few curry restaurants that caught my eye, but I had already decided on curry for dinner, so I ruled them out for lunch. I was thinking about soba or udon, and as I walked down the street on the south side of the courthouse (where "Udon Biyori" is located), I noticed a somewhat inconspicuous sign for "Rokumonmatsu Shokudo." It didn't look like a restaurant at all... Maybe just a regular apartment building? I hesitantly stepped inside, and sure enough, there was a sign at what appeared to be the entrance of an apartment building... But it seemed like I was in the right place. Upon entering, I found a spacious dining area that reminded me of the cafeteria in the bachelor dorm I used to live in, surprisingly it was full, with a waiting list of 3 people. What is this place? It seems pretty popular! The visible menu items ranged from 650 to 800 yen, which seemed quite reasonable. Upon closer inspection, I noticed that many of the previous customers were ordering sashimi. It turned out that on Fridays, they offer a fish dish for 650 yen. That's what I'll have! The fish dishes on the menu included sashimi set, fried set, and grilled salted fish set, and without hesitation, I ordered the sashimi. In less than 5 minutes, the sashimi set arrived. It had more sashimi and rice, miso soup (made from fish head), cold tofu, a side dish, and even dessert (a daifuku)! And to top it off, coffee was included after the meal, all for this price! What a deal. The thickly sliced sashimi, with 10 pieces in total, was more than satisfying. The miso soup made from fish head and other small surprises added to the overall high level of satisfaction of the lunch. However, what was truly surprising was the location of this place. When I asked the staff, it turned out that what I thought was an apartment building was actually a hotel (a business hotel, perhaps) and the dining area was part of it. Despite the hotel setting, the exterior didn't give off that impression, so it was quite unexpected. Thank you for the meal.

Topped curry with fried chicken. Went expecting curry but it was just okay. The taste was hard to describe with too much thickness. The fried chicken was big and good. Comes with salad, miso soup, and half a mandarin orange, which is nice. Overall, the curry was a disappointment. Thank you for the meal.

I went for lunch on Saturday. The portion size was generous, the taste was average, and the price was also average. While Ropponmatsu may give the impression of having trendy restaurants, this place had more of a cafeteria vibe. It was quiet, with just one elderly couple, one old lady, one man, and myself. It's a good choice for those who want to eat until they're full.

I went to Rokuonmatsu Shokudo in Fukuoka City, Chuo Ward on October 13, 2020. I found the restaurant sign while passing through the back street of Rokuonmatsu near the courthouse. Surprisingly, it was located on the first floor of a normal apartment building in a residential area. The interior of the restaurant was spacious with tables lined up like a cafeteria or company cafeteria, but the service was like a regular restaurant with staff taking orders and serving food. The menu consisted of 5 types of set meals for 770 yen each and curry for 500 yen. I ordered the beef yakiniku set meal for 770 yen. Rice refills were free and coffee was also included as a service. The meal came with two small side dishes of cold tofu and kinpira burdock, pickles, and fruits. The beef yakiniku was quite generous in portion and the vegetable salad was substantial with a variety of vegetables. The beef was tender and delicious. After the meal, I enjoyed self-serve free coffee. It was a relaxing lunch in an unexpected location in a residential area. I wonder if it gets busier on weekdays as it was a Saturday when I visited. The restaurant is located at 4-3-11 Rokuonmatsu, Chuo Ward, Fukuoka City. Closed on holidays, open only on weekday evenings.

The Friday fish set meal is a rare treat for me since I usually eat meat. Today's bonito sashimi was fatty and satisfyingly voluminous. I even had a second cup of coffee, it was perfect.

It was a public holiday, but the restaurant was open as usual. About 80% of the seats were filled and it was bustling. The fried horse mackerel was delicious. I will continue to visit regularly.

There is a set meal restaurant that offers discounts depending on the day. The sashimi set meal had plenty of fresh sashimi and free-flowing coffee. The fish was fresh and delicious. Although there was a price increase notice starting from July 24th, I will still go back even after the price increase.
