I was curious about it because it is said to be the first conveyor belt sushi restaurant in Japan. When I entered the restaurant, I was asked, "Just one person?" and was seated at the counter. They provided a basket to store my belongings. They also offered drinks, red miso soup, and chawanmushi. The menu was in a card case on the table. I ordered fish red miso soup, chawanmushi, octopus tempura, and seared tuna cheek meat. As I looked at the shiny fish, I asked, "Do you have saury?" and they said, "Yes!" but seemed to forget about that order. I took a plate of saury that was passing by on the belt. The seasonal fish, now considered a luxury fish, was delicious! I wondered if I should verbally order other items, but the sushi was already flowing on the belt! Unlike other major conveyor belt sushi chains that use touch panel ordering, this place had the traditional conveyor belt sushi system. I was very impressed by this. No touch panel. You can select sushi that looks delicious as it passes by. Of course, for items not on the belt, I verbally ordered them. The inari sushi was also forgotten. When I asked if the order was being processed, they quickly made it and handed it to me over the counter with an apology and a smile. The unusual item was whale skin. It was also on the belt. I occasionally eat whale skin vinegar miso as a snack for drinking at home, but it is a precious ingredient from research whaling, and it is considered a high-class dish at oden shops. To find it at a conveyor belt sushi place with a flat rate price was surprising. There was also golden cutlassfish on the belt. There were cards with photos like those held up for Olympic or high school baseball player entrances at the front of the sushi line. I'm not sure how it differs from regular cutlassfish. Is it Japanese Spanish mackerel or Pacific mackerel? I don't know. When it has "golden" in the name, it gives a high-class image. All the dishes were delicious. There were no wasabi packets on the belt. Sweets and udon were not on the menu. They offered two types of tea, powdered green tea and genmaicha. Of course, pickled ginger was all-you-can-eat. I aimed for freshly replenished sushi by the chef, not sushi that had been rotating for a while. It was a traditional conveyor belt sushi place, said to be the birthplace of conveyor belt sushi. There was also a station for filling out order slips at the entrance. You can choose your favorite sushi and take it out. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

This time, I visited "Genroku Sushi Main Store" in Higashi Osaka City. One of Japan's representative food cultures, the now world-famous "conveyor belt sushi" originated in Higashi Osaka City. As many of you may know, the first to rotate sushi was "Genroku Sushi" located in front of Fuse Station, which I visited this time. As soon as you enter the store, the lively interior and the staff warmly welcome you. The sushi toppings are fresh, and the sushi rotating on the conveyor belt comes with wasabi. Despite being a conveyor belt sushi, the service is above average. I would like to visit again. Thank you for the meal.

I went to Genroku, a restaurant I visit regularly, today. I was unsure of what to eat, but since I had plenty of meat yesterday, I felt like having fish today. I considered trying a new sushi restaurant, but ended up choosing Genroku for its reliability. I have been to both the Fuse and Namba locations, but I think the one in Fuse tastes better. The corn with just the right amount of mayonnaise is always delicious. Today, I tried the "makanaigunkan" (a type of sushi roll) and it was really tasty. I also appreciate that Genroku is budget-friendly.

2023: Another visit to Genroku Sushi♪ Since I was feeling the effects of the previous night's drinks (lol), I decided to go to "Genroku Sushi" today! The chef and staff are all very polite and it's a pleasant experience here. - Red clam miso soup for 220 yen including tax♪ The generous amount of clam is delightful! - Eel for 171 yen including tax♪ - Battera (pressed mackerel sushi) for 143 yen including tax♪ There aren't many places that offer Battera, so it's a rare find! - Seafood with wasabi for 143 yen including tax♪ This is a must-try! In addition to my usual order, I also got the shrimp mayo for 143 yen including tax♪ The taste is surprisingly delicious, almost like it's made for kids. There is a Genroku Sushi main store in Fuse as well. Enjoy!

Fuseshi, Osaka, Gourmet: Genrokuzushi Main Store! I think you may have been here before, but this is my first visit since I started writing on Tabelog. I was surprised at how cheap it was! 3 pieces for 429 yen - Yellowtail, Amberjack, and Bluefin Tuna. The Yellowtail was incredibly delicious. It had such a chewy texture that I thought I might choke! Thanks for the meal!

Yesterday's lunch was at Genrokuzushi, a restaurant known for its origin of Genrokuzushi. It's been a while since I last visited. I remember coming here a few times as a child, and a few times as an adult. Each plate costs 143 yen, so 9 plates came out to 1287 yen. The seaweed was delicious. Thank you for the meal. In Fuse, which is in Higashi-Osaka, there is a restaurant called Genroku Sushi, where the rotating sushi concept originated. It's affordable, and you can easily pick your favorite sushi at your own pace without any hesitation. The atmosphere in the restaurant is lively. While the sushi itself is not particularly outstanding, I still find myself wanting to go there occasionally. On this day, I focused on shellfish sushi, and finished off with the "three musketeers" of rolls - Tekka, Shinko, and Kappa. I particularly enjoy rolls, and they were delicious.

Busse Station is just a short walk away. I visited around 12:45 on a Saturday and there were three groups waiting, but since the restaurant has many seats, we were seated immediately. As a rotating sushi restaurant, Edo Sushi has established itself as a traditional establishment, differentiating itself from places like Kura Sushi, Sushiro, and Kappa Sushi. The menu offers a wide variety of sushi, with each plate costing 143 yen. We ordered dishes like Hachinohe red squid, flying squid, tuna, green onion salted tuna belly, seafood bowl-style gunkan, premium tuna, cod roe, and egg. The rice was generally firm. The flying squid had a great texture and sweetness, making it the most delicious. The premium tuna, green onion salted tuna belly, and cod roe were also very tasty. Considering the price range is similar to places like Kura Sushi, Edo Sushi is definitely a good choice. The staff's service was average. I would like to visit again. Thank you for the meal.

"Second visit to Genroku Sushi main store. Medium-sized beer for 528 yen, natto, tuna, grilled salmon, and eel for 143 yen each. Red miso soup with fish for 165 yen. Genroku Sushi's main store was delicious, unlike other locations I've tried. I came back to confirm the allure of the main store, and it's still delicious (laughs)."

2022: Fifth Visit♪ Once again, no time for lunch, so I stopped by "Genroku Sushi Main Store" for a quick bite! Oh? It used to be packed before (lol), but now the counter is divided into two, looking neat and clean. The staff's polite and energetic service is typical of a long-established place, right? (*^-^*) ◎Limited Quantity Seafood Wasabi, tax included ¥143♪ This is highly recommended! (^^) It has plenty of small seafood pieces, satisfying to eat! ◎Eel and Grilled Mackerel Sushi ♪ So-so (lol) ◎Chawanmushi, tax included ¥198♪ Perfect portion for ladies who want a light meal, the total was ¥627 including tax~ (^^♪

I had some business in Fuse, so I heard that the original conveyor belt sushi restaurant, called Genrokuzushi, is located in Fuse. I came here to check it out. Nowadays, there are many chain conveyor belt sushi restaurants, so I wonder if Genrokuzushi also has multiple locations. Well, in any case, I heard that this Genrokuzushi in Fuse is the first conveyor belt sushi restaurant. They didn't seem to emphasize that fact too much, but overall, I was satisfied with it as a lunch option. Thank you for the meal.

Did you know? This is the origin of conveyor belt sushi restaurants✨ As a sushi lover, I couldn't miss this place. I decided to stop by. There is even a monument next to the shop (lol). The founder came up with the idea of conveyor belt sushi when he saw a conveyor belt at an Asahi beer factory. Each plate costs only 138 yen! As for the taste... well, let's just say it wasn't great ( ̄▽ ̄;) I had only 3 plates and then left. It was a nice experience!

Established in 1958. Surprisingly, this is the birthplace of conveyor belt sushi. It's interesting to think that both Kura Sushi and Kappa Sushi can trace their origins back to this place. Each plate costs 138 yen, which is a great deal. I started with 5 pieces of nigiri sushi. I wasn't expecting much, and it wasn't particularly delicious. The fish wasn't very fresh and the rice was a bit hard. The vinegar flavor wasn't too strong, leaning towards a sweeter taste. Next, I tried some gunkan sushi. The sea urchin lacked a bit of creaminess, but the flavor was good. On the other hand, the crab miso had too much moisture and could have been richer. I couldn't resist trying the crab salad and corn salad, which felt like unique items on a conveyor belt sushi menu. Despite some shortcomings, considering it as "138 yen sushi" rather than just "sushi," it was actually quite tasty. Nowadays, even chain conveyor belt sushi restaurants have items that cost a few hundred yen. Overall, it was a good experience to explore this aspect of food culture. Thank you for the meal.

The most competitive genre in the food and beverage industry is probably revolving sushi. Revolving sushi chains like Sushiro, Kura Sushi, and Hamazushi are constantly battling it out in a tough market. The roots of revolving sushi can be traced back to a restaurant in Suita, Osaka, where the idea originated from a beer factory. Despite my childhood memories of not finding the sushi there particularly delicious, I decided to give it another try due to its reputation and the ongoing competition in the industry. I visited the restaurant around 4 pm, and it seemed busy with a lot of takeout orders. The sushi I had included grilled mackerel, white grilled eel, shrimp, yellowtail, tuna, and saury, all priced at 138 yen each. The sushi was prepared by skilled chefs, and although some pieces were on the smaller side, the variety of unique toppings impressed me. Items like grilled mackerel and white grilled eel are not commonly found on revolving sushi menus, making this restaurant stand out. The quality of the toppings has definitely improved since my last visit, and I believe this restaurant, as the origin of revolving sushi, should continue to thrive and represent the pride of Higashi Osaka. Thank you for the meal♪ Ookini (^O^☆♪

The restaurant is located just a short walk from Fuse Station on the Kintetsu Nara Line, southwest of the station's exit. Upon entering the restaurant, you will be guided to a counter seat. Let's enjoy some conveyor belt sushi. Each plate comes with 2 pieces of sushi (some come with 1 piece). This time, I had the following 7 items: tuna, squid, sardine, mackerel sushi, Pacific saury, natto, and blue fish. The portions were quite generous. The prices per plate are all the same, making it easy to calculate the bill. It was great to enjoy conveyor belt sushi at the birthplace of the concept. I would like to visit again. Thank you for the meal.

Visit date and time: 10/05/2021 12:30 First stop on the food tour in Fuse, "Meguro Genroku Sushi," the original store. This small chain with 9 stores in Osaka and 1 in Hyogo is actually the originator of conveyor belt sushi. Located just south of Fuse Station on the outer perimeter of a shopping street. Ordered 3 plates of salmon dishes. Originally planned to visit a nearby Chinese restaurant first, but it was completely full, so decided to have a light meal while waiting for a seat. - Food & Taste: 3.3 The "fatty salmon" had a decent thickness for conveyor belt sushi. It was fairly fresh with no strange elasticity or smell. It was enjoyable. The "seared salmon" was similar to the previous one. It had a nice balance of searing to enhance the taste and texture of the fatty salmon. - Service: 3.1 The staff provided efficient service. - Atmosphere: 3.1 The interior was typical of a conveyor belt sushi restaurant. It felt slightly cramped, but it was fine for dining alone. The restaurant was about 80% full, with customers coming and going frequently. - Cost Performance: 3.1 Each plate was around 138 yen, totaling 414 yen. It's reasonably priced for conveyor belt sushi. - Drinks: Not available Overall, it satisfied my craving for salmon.

An old man ate sushi at a restaurant in Fuse. The place he visited was a chain restaurant called Genroku Sushi. It seems like a well-established revolving sushi restaurant. I heard that Genroku Sushi is considered the originator of revolving sushi. I quite like this chain of restaurants and use it occasionally, but this was my first time using the Fuse store. The store is located in front of the station and is usually crowded with customers. So, I decided to have a light lunch here and first ordered red miso soup. Isn't sushi restaurant's red miso soup delicious? The flavor of the fish broth is really good. Now, onto the sushi itself, this time I think I ate a lot of tuna-related items. I had regular tuna, as well as fatty tuna. Apart from tuna, I also had salmon, including the seared one. I also tried some sardine sushi. I forgot to take pictures, but I think I also had grilled mackerel sushi. It's nice to be able to eat various things you like easily, so I think it's not a bad idea to use revolving sushi restaurants occasionally. If you have the chance, please try it out too!

Located a short walk from Fuse Station in Higashi Osaka, the original Mawaru Genroku Sushi main store is a must-visit spot. This was the first conveyor belt sushi restaurant in Japan, established in 1958, inspired by a beer factory conveyor belt in Suita City. Despite the early evening hour, the place was bustling with locals and takeout customers. Each plate costs 138 yen, and the menu offers a variety of sushi options. I tried the chawanmushi and the akadashi maguro, both delicious. The system involves verbally ordering sushi from the chefs, who prepare it one after another. Surprisingly, even uni, which is usually expensive, was available for 138 yen per plate. Mawaru Genroku Sushi maintains a flat pricing system, offering high-quality items at the same price. With many conveyor belt sushi restaurants around, it's important to recognize this original establishment as the roots of the concept. Overall, I had a great experience enjoying affordable and delicious sushi at this "conveyor belt sushi sanctuary."

"Genroku Sushi Main Store" The main store of Genroku Sushi was located in Fuse. This was my first time at Genroku Sushi. You don't have to write orders, and each plate is only 138 yen including tax, which is quite cost-effective. Of course, it's not incredibly delicious, but at this price, it's very satisfying. There is no ranking of sushi based on common rotation sushi, and everything is 138 yen, which is impressive. To eat that much and only spend 1500 yen per person... However, the sea urchin was a bit disappointing.

This is a revolving sushi restaurant located on Ichijo Street, south of Fuse Station on the Kintetsu Nara Line and Osaka Line. The entrance is surprisingly narrow and slightly old-fashioned. There are about 40 counter seats facing the rotating lane, but no table seats like in major restaurants. However, this is not just a regular conveyor belt sushi place. The founder was inspired by seeing automated machines at Asahi Beer's factory in Suita, and decided to use machines to serve sushi to customers. In 1958, they opened the first "revolving sushi" restaurant in this area. This marked the transformation of the luxury symbol "sushi" into a casual meal, leading to the spread of revolving sushi not only in Japan but also overseas. Each plate of sushi costs 125 yen (excluding tax), and premium ingredients are also priced the same for one piece. Unlike major chains with touch panel systems, here you can order items not on the belt directly from the sushi chef or staff, who are friendly and accommodating. I tried the grilled mackerel, eel, yellowtail, octopus, shrimp avocado, and a special rolled omelet. In respect to the origin of revolving sushi, I took everything from the lane. The sushi here is handcrafted by chefs, so the quality may vary slightly, but that adds to its unique taste. The generous toppings with smaller rice portions are quite appealing. The high-quality sushi here is definitely popular, especially at this original store which always seems to be crowded. It's recommended to visit during off-peak hours.

This New Year's was completely unplanned, so my wife and I decided to stay at home with our children in case of any emergencies. However, we ended up going out for shopping and found ourselves at a sushi restaurant in Fushimi. The restaurant was busy, so we had to wait outside for about 10 minutes before being seated. The restaurant mainly served conveyor belt sushi, but you could also order specific items verbally. Since we drove there, we didn't have any alcohol. We enjoyed dishes like shrimp, salmon, sea urchin, horse mackerel, seafood with wasabi, squid, cod milt, fresh sea bream, tuna with wasabi, and octopus and clam red miso soup. The quality of the fish was decent, considering it was New Year's. The chefs seemed busy in the kitchen, but there was a limited variety of sushi passing by on the conveyor belt. The rice to fish ratio was on the lower side, but the freshness and thickness of the fish made up for it. The red miso soup was served generously in a large bowl and tasted delicious. The total bill for two people came to a little over 2500 yen.
