Visited at 8:30 pm on December 12, 2021. It was the last night in Fukuoka, and we decided to go eat yakiniku, my son's favorite food. Since it was a Sunday night, we made a reservation through Tabelog to avoid waiting. The restaurant, "Hachihachi," located in an office building complex, was not crowded on Sundays, so we could have gotten a table without a reservation. We ordered two draft beers for ¥550 each while selecting the food menu. Hachihachi is a young yakiniku restaurant with two branches in Fukuoka, offering high-quality wagyu beef at an affordable price. We decided to start with the basic menu to assess the quality. We ordered the "Wagyu Upper Kalbi" for ¥580, along with the "Nakaochi Kalbi" and "Harami" for ¥780 each. My son requested the "88 Negitan" for ¥680. As side dishes, we added the "Caesar Salad" for ¥680 and the "Kimchi Assortment" for ¥680, which my son loves. Surprisingly, the "Wagyu Upper Kalbi" looked the most delicious among all the meats we ordered. The quality was outstanding, especially considering the price. The "Nakaochi Kalbi" and "Harami" were also of excellent quality for their price, but the "Wagyu Upper Kalbi" stood out. The "88 Negitan" was a bit salty for my taste, but my son enjoyed it and even asked for seconds. The Caesar Salad was huge, enough to fill us up on its own. My son, who loves it, barely touched it as he was focused on the meat. We also ordered rice and lemon chu-hai to balance out the meal. The lemon chu-hai was sweeter than expected, not as refreshing as I had hoped. As we continued eating, my son reached his limit and had some rice, so I decided to start my meal as well. We ordered more "Wagyu Upper Kalbi" for ¥1,160, rice for ¥280, "Stone Bibimbap" for ¥780, and "Egg Soup" for ¥680. The egg soup was delicious with a hint of sesame oil. The stone bibimbap was filled with meat, probably the 88 Kalbi, and was very filling. The "Wagyu Upper Kalbi" was truly the star of the meal. Despite spending a little over ¥10,000 due to our extensive ordering, the meal was a great value for yakiniku. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

A few years ago, I visited this place and it seems they have renovated since then. I saw a sign outside the shop advertising delicious Negi-tan salt, which made me want to visit again! The exterior and interior look pretty much the same as my last visit. They offer set courses with all-you-can-drink options, but this time I decided to order a la carte. I started with the special kalbi, loin, and harami, and finally got to try the Negi-tan salt with grilled green onions that I had been wanting to try. The Negi-tan salt is a bit pricier compared to other items on the menu, which are generally more affordable. You order your food through a tablet. The kalbi, loin, and harami arrived first. However, the loin looked more like frozen tuna and had a slightly bloody and unpleasant taste. The Negi-tan salt didn't meet my expectations either. The kalbi was the best out of the three. I ordered a large portion of rice, which was more like an extra-large portion, but it was good. Overall, I felt that the quality of the meat has decreased since the renovation.

This time, I went to Hachihachi Hakata store located at 3-12-20 Hakata Station East, Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City. I searched for a restaurant that stays open late as I was running late from work and needed a power-up due to fatigue. The genre I chose was "yakiniku" and the restaurant closes at 1:00 am (last order at midnight). The exterior of the restaurant is flashy and eye-catching. Inside, the atmosphere is quite open, with mainly table seating. It can get quite lively when crowded as there are no partitions to block the noise. I started with a toast with a glass of draft beer (Premium Malt). The menu mentioned the comeback of Black Wagyu Upper Kalbi at the same price as 20 years ago, which caught my attention. I ordered two servings of it, along with a rare cut called "sasami" for 980 yen, thick-cut premium tongue for 1580 yen, daikon kimchi for 390 yen, upper mino for 980 yen, and stone bibimbap for 680 yen. The charcoal grill was ready, so we started grilling the sasami first. It looked delicious with marbling and was indeed tender and tasty. The tongue was thickly sliced and bloomed beautifully as we grilled it. We finished it off with a squeeze of lemon for a refreshing taste. The upper mino had a nice texture and no strong flavor. The Black Wagyu Upper Kalbi for 480 yen was decent, but I personally preferred the other rare cuts. The stone bibimbap was served hot and was delicious. It was nice to be able to adjust the spiciness with the gochujang sauce. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

Today, I visited this restaurant with my coworkers for the first time in a while! We were in the mood for yakiniku, so we decided to grill our own meat on the shichirin grill. The restaurant mainly has table seating and is quite spacious. After looking at the menu, we ordered the following items: - Plenty of cabbage (290 yen) - Special selected black wagyu beef yukhoe (980 yen) - Salted beef tongue with green onions (980 yen) - Black wagyu beef upper kalbi with sauce (480 yen x2) - Pork belly with salt (450 yen) - Chicken tenderloin (450 yen) - Beef intestines with miso (880 yen) - Stone bibimbap (780 yen) - Draft beer (550 yen) Since I have a health check-up tomorrow, I tried to eat a lot of cabbage as a last-minute effort. The shredded cabbage with sesame oil and vinegar was a perfect palate cleanser between bites of meat and absolutely delicious! The yukhoe was thinly sliced and had a moist texture, served with sauce and egg yolk. However, I didn't really taste the grilled element in it. Next, onto the meat! We started with the salted beef tongue with green onions, which had a good balance of fat and meat quality, and was incredibly flavorful the more you chew. And all for under 500 yen each! The pork belly with salt and beef intestines were both fatty and juicy, perfect for grilling on the shichirin grill. The chicken tenderloin, seasoned with yuzu pepper and ponzu sauce, had a refreshing taste and a chewy texture. It was a nice change between the pork belly and beef intestines. Lastly, we had the stone bibimbap, with a separate spicy sauce for you to adjust to your liking. We added all the sauce for a flavorful rice dish with a crispy crust and a mix of sweet and spicy gochujang. The crunchy namul added a nice touch! I initially planned not to drink much beer today, but ended up having three glasses... Cheers to a great meal!

The restaurant offers a large variety of barbecue dishes at a reasonable price. I used a LINE coupon for a free middle-cut kalbi, which was probably the most delicious item we ordered. We also had 88 kalbi, chicken thigh, beef tongue, and some rare cut (I forgot the name), as well as sundubu. The sundubu took a while to arrive, and we had to remind the staff about it. It seemed like our order got overlooked, and the same thing happened to the table next to us. The taste and cost performance were good, but I hope they can improve on this aspect a bit more.

Today's lunch was in the mood for some meat... so I decided to go here! I've been here a few times before, but it's been over 5 years since my last visit! Of course, this was my first time having lunch here... cooking meat in the daytime! The restaurant can accommodate about 16 people at 12 tables, each with its own roaster, so it's quite spacious! Looking at the menu, there are some cheaper rice bowl options, but I decided to splurge and go for something I can grill right in front of me... Let's go with this one! - Wagyu Kalbi and Harami Lunch Set (1,628 yen) I decided to treat myself with this luxurious option... It comes with rice, cabbage, soup, kimchi, and namul! You can get unlimited refills of rice and cabbage! In less than 10 minutes, the charcoal grill and lunch set arrived! Each type of meat came with 4 slices each... it looks beautiful! Now, let's grill them to our liking! The Wagyu Kalbi has a good amount of marbling, and the fat oozes out, making it juicy... The Harami, on the other hand, has a beautiful reddish color and is tender with a rich flavor that intensifies as you chew... Personally, I prefer the clean taste of Harami. The dipping sauce was a bit too sweet for my liking though... The cabbage was shredded with a drizzle of sesame oil and a tangy ponzu dressing, which paired perfectly! I ended up having 2 servings due to the lack of vegetables... haha. Comparing it to my usual go-to place, Nurubon, for refills... Nurubon offers soup, rice, kimchi, while here it's cabbage and rice... I prefer Nurubon's kimchi and rice for the hearty eating experience... Maybe I'll come back for dinner next time to have some grilled meat! Bon appétit!

I visited for lunch. The restaurant is spacious and has a slightly Korean feel to it compared to the Solarea branch. The meat was all very delicious. The set plate is fixed, so the service is quick. Cooking the meat over charcoal is definitely the best way to enjoy it. ❤️✨✨✨

There are not only expensive bento boxes, but also around 4 lunch menu options for 580 yen at this restaurant. This time, I tried the Digital Kalbi Don for 580 yen with an extra 200 yen for more meat. The meat was hidden underneath as well, so I recommend getting the extra meat option. Some customers were even enjoying yakiniku inside the restaurant! The lunch options are quite diverse now.

Theme: Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City / Around Hakata Station Having dinner with my child who came back home for a short visit. As a parent, I want to make sure they eat their fill, so we went to "Hachihachi" along Hyakunenbashi Street. It's a place where you can eat without worrying about your wallet. I ordered a draft beer, a salad with just cabbage, and then focused on ordering from the menu with good deals. We got two servings of chicken tenderloin, two servings of pork belly with salt, sausages, and when I complained that there was no beef, they brought out some kalbi. I thought about having a highball for my second drink, but my child wanted to have a little drink too, so we both had lemon sour. We ended up eating our fill, making it in time for the express bus, and it was a nice distance to have a good time. Tonight I felt like eating meat so I decided to visit this restaurant. The fact that the entire interior is visible through the glass windows made me a bit uncomfortable at first, but once I was seated in a table towards the middle, I didn't mind it anymore (laughs). The meat was relatively delicious in my opinion. The sauce was a bit sweet for my taste, but my companion said it was delicious. Overall, it was reasonably priced and tasty.

During lunchtime, I went to a yakiniku restaurant where you can choose your own set. It came with rice, soup, salad, and kimchi. The soup was a bit salty, but the charcoal grill made the meat taste even better. I ordered a set with beef tongue and harami. The harami was delicious, very tender and flavorful. I usually only eat tongue and lean meat, but I will come back just for the harami. The price was similar to all-you-can-eat lunch options, but the quality here was much better and satisfying.

First of all, the shop itself was lively, with a good atmosphere and friendly staff, making it a comfortable place to dine. The specialty black wagyu beef ribs were delicious, but all the meats were reasonably priced and the rice was sweet and very tasty. I would like to come back with friends when I visit Hakata again.

It was delicious! The beef tongue was tender. When you go to a typical all-you-can-eat restaurant, you may have to put up with some off-flavored items, but this restaurant had fewer options yet the quality of the meat was good. The staff were also friendly and provided low-key, pleasant service.

The store is supposed to be open until 11pm and I understand it was close to closing time, but the way the employees treated us an hour before closing was just too rude! It felt like they were trying to rush us out even though we were the only customers there. The service at the end was really disappointing.

I went with one other person. We ordered individual items such as beef tongue, kalbi, harami, tetchan, and a large serving of shredded cabbage (forgot the name). We opted for the cheaper cuts of meat, so overall it was okay, not amazing. The beef tongue, as mentioned in other reviews, was not great and had a bit of a smell. The harami and tetchan were decent. The best part was the mountain of shredded cabbage with sesame and sauce. Perhaps ordering some higher-priced items would have made a difference, but regardless, if they are serving it, they shouldn't have any excuses.

The meat is delicious and the alcohol is tasty too. So, I ended up drinking too much and feeling self-disgusted. Beer's perfect foam pairs well with grilled meat. I was quite surprised when they brought the rice out first.
