[Completely Non-Smoking] A full-fledged Chinese restaurant specializing in tantanmen and gyoza that opened in October 2021 in the Sakai-me area of Nagonuma, Minamihoro, and Kitahiroshima. If you order a set meal or noodles, you can enjoy unlimited refills of soup and rice. The restaurant offers self-service for serving and clearing dishes, refilling water, and serving soup and rice. The location of the restaurant is right near the Nagonuma main store of Aisu no Ie, sandwiched between Route 3 and Route 274. Revisited on July 14, 2023, around noon. Today, I went to buy rice at Katagiri Farm Market and my father drove me there because the weather forecast predicted rain. My trusty companion, my mama-chari bike "Raimitan," has a belt drive, so sudden acceleration, standing pedaling, and rain are not ideal. I haven't done standing pedaling since high school (laughs). When I asked my father where to eat around here, he wasn't really listening and just said, "Oh, there's a gyoza restaurant here." Despite the sign at the entrance saying that they do not serve fried rice due to procurement reasons, he still ordered fried rice (laughs). Even after hearing that there was no fried rice, he looked at the photo of the shumai and said, "Oh, they have shumai here," not gyoza. The staff explained that the photo was of shumai, not gyoza. In the end, I ordered soy sauce ramen with char siu. I chose the set meal where you can choose your main dish and added a hot pot mapo tofu with 5 gyoza. The food was served in about 10-odd minutes. Despite the high price of eggs, the soup here was egg drop soup with a ginger flavor and quite good. The hot pot mapo tofu was as expected, authentic and spicy with a good amount of heat. The seasoning included star anise and other spicy ingredients, and two chili peppers. It was mildly spicy for me, but had a nice salty taste that made me want to keep eating. I had two mountain-sized bowls of rice and a small bowl. The almond jelly dessert was as delicious as always. As expected, or rather, as planned, my father seemed dissatisfied, saying he wanted to eat the salt ramen from the seaside town. It's common sense that ramen made by a professional Chinese chef is completely different from the taste preferred by older Hokkaido residents. So if you want ramen, you should go to a shop in Kitahiroshima, right? Well, I was completely satisfied, so that's good (laughs).

The pan-fried dumplings are not greasy at all, so they have a refreshing taste. Personally, I think they go really well with yuzu pepper. The staff kindly asked if we wanted pepper on our dumplings, which was much appreciated since I was dining with my child. My child enjoyed the boiled dumplings with vinegar and soy sauce, while I preferred the pan-fried dumplings with yuzu pepper. I also added chili oil to the black vinegar sauce provided, and it was delicious! The self-service soup was also tasty, and my child, who usually doesn't drink soup, finished it all.

I had work in Nagano Town and decided to have lunch on the way back to Sapporo. There is a Chinese restaurant called "Oudan" that caught my attention. I ordered the tantanmen for 950 yen. The soup was a bit spicy and had a strong sesame flavor. The noodles were firm and the free rice was a nice bonus. I saw someone at the next table pouring the soup over rice, so I tried it too and it was delicious. I'm interested in trying their mapo tofu set next time. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

My address is in Yubari, but it's only about 1 minute from Kitahiroshima. The parking lot is spacious, and even trucks are allowed! The interior is also spacious, like a drive-in. Instead of a raised tatami area, there is a large tatami hall with plenty of table seating. The menu is extensive, so it's hard to decide. I chose the mapo noodles. There was an option to increase the spiciness and numbness, but I went with the default. Rice and soup are self-service and you can have unlimited refills! You go pick them up when your order is ready. The noodles are homemade... but the soup is incredibly delicious♡ You can really taste the spiciness and numbness, as well as the umami, making it very tasty♡ It comes with two large chili peppers. I couldn't stop drinking the soup (; ; ) The rice and soup were also delicious. It would be nice to have menus available on the counter or inside the restaurant. I want to record what I'll eat next time, maybe dumplings or boiled dumplings. I recommend it for those who prioritize taste! I wonder if it was a shop in Susukino??? I love it♡ Thank you for the meal♡

On the way back from Kitahiroshima City, our first visit. I had the mapo noodles, while my wife had the fried rice. The mapo noodles came in a small bowl with less noodles. The tofu in the mapo tofu had a strong flavor. It seemed like it was made in advance but was properly heated. It wasn't sweet, but had a strong Sichuan pepper spiciness. It was quite spicy with plenty of red chili peppers. It really felt like Sichuan cuisine! My wife's fried rice was lightly seasoned with no particular flavor. We should have also ordered the dumplings advertised on the sign. Well, let's save that for next time. The place was a bit messy and disorganized, maybe it was just a coincidence? The self-service for lunch was fine, but I wish the staff paid a bit more attention to the customers. The atmosphere was quite Asian, like being in a Chinese restaurant. We'll definitely come back again.

I had a rare weekday off, so I decided to come to Nagano to satisfy my craving for spicy and numbing mabo noodles. It seemed far, but actually Nagano is just on the border with Kitahiroshima. I ordered the "Mabo Men (850 yen)" with an extra "2-numb (100 yen)" at the self-service counter. Since the restaurant's name includes "Gyoza," I thought their gyoza must be a specialty, so I also ordered the "Pan-Fried Gyoza (540 yen)." I was given a bell like in a food court and waited for a while. It turns out that for those who order noodles, set meals, or rice, refills are free, so I decided to get some extra soup. The soup was rich with onions and eggs, and the rice was cooked just right. The gyoza was large and chewy with a hearty filling. As for the mabo noodles, they were packed with ingredients and had a nice chewy texture. The spiciness wasn't as strong as I expected, but the numbing sensation was there. Overall, the food was delicious and easy to eat. They also have other enticing dishes like clay pot mabo tofu, kikurage mushroom and egg stir-fry, and shredded pork with green peppers. The menu is full of tempting options. Although it must be tough for the manager who seems to be the only one running the place, keep up the good work! If the restaurant were a bit closer, I would definitely become a regular, but I will definitely come back when I remember it again!

During winter, I often crave for something to warm me up, and this time I found myself wanting to eat tantanmen (spicy sesame noodle soup) again (laughs). This restaurant seems to be known for its dumplings, but when eating dumplings, it's common to enjoy them with beer, so having dumplings as a main dish for lunch is not something I usually do. I haven't visited this place since trying the Blue Seal ice cream, so to be honest, I wasn't even sure if this restaurant existed. There was only one other group of customers when we entered, probably due to the widespread Omicron variant, so even during lunchtime, the place was not crowded. The interior of the restaurant is spacious, resembling a dining area in a hot spring facility, with tables and tatami seating available. The restaurant is run by a single male staff member, and you first place your order at the counter and pay in advance. Then, you receive an electronic buzzer, similar to a food court, and take a seat. I ordered the tantanmen, and looking at the menu, it seems to be based on authentic Sichuan cuisine. In Sichuan, there is a version of tantanmen without soup, which is considered the original form of tantanmen, but I personally prefer the Japanese style with soup as I'm not a fan of soup-less ramen like abura soba. There is also a menu item called mapo men, but I prefer the mapo tantanmen from Haryu Hakushitei, so I'm loyal to that (laughs). Since there were only two groups of customers, the electronic buzzer did not ring, and we were called directly to pick up our order. The tantanmen was served in a bowl that looked like an upside-down Mount Fuji, resembling a deep version of a soba bowl. I first dipped the toppings into the soup, took a sip, and thought, "Oh! It's sesame-based but not overwhelmingly so." I don't enjoy tantanmen with a strong sesame flavor, so this level of sesame was just right for me. The moderate acidity was a distinctive feature, balancing out the sesame flavor nicely. The chili oil added a nice kick, creating a delicious level of spiciness. The noodles were of the non-aged type, which I also liked. Although the numbing sensation from the Sichuan pepper (maybe Hua Bei Sichuan pepper?) wasn't too strong, it gradually accumulated on the tongue as I ate more, becoming more noticeable, so I prefer it to be a bit milder. My wife managed to finish the soup by tilting the bowl, but the small diameter and depth of the bowl made it a bit tricky to drink all the soup (laughs).

2022/1/10 Revisit "Fifth Cup of 2022" Today is the last day of the three-day weekend (^^♪ I played too much alone on Saturday and Sunday, so today will be a day for my wife and our beloved dog Hana-chan (lol). I'm going to Joyful A to buy some food for Hana-chan, so before that, we decided to have a meal at this restaurant that I suggested to my wife, and it was approved, so here we are again! Wangdan Nagasuma Main Store - A restaurant with delicious dumplings [2nd visit] The place is not crowded today, so we were quickly seated at a table. My wife and I checked the menu. Well, I had already decided on the dan dan noodles. My wife only had one choice, the "chicken noodles," haha. And of course, we also ordered the delicious dumplings we had last time. Now, let's bring some water. Let's skip the free rice and soup today. We will be called by our table number, so we will go pick up the dishes. All the dishes were ready at the same time ♬ The chicken noodles looked richer than I expected. The dan dan noodles looked delicious as I had imagined from the photos! Let's dig in. I scooped up some soup and minced meat and took a bite. As expected... it's quite spicy with a numbing sensation from the Sichuan peppercorns! However, there is no strange sweetness that is often found in dan dan noodles. I like this taste! Let's try the noodles. It's the same noodles as the mapo tofu noodles from last time. By the second visit, I didn't feel much discomfort, it goes well with the dish. The balance of umami and spiciness is great, and it goes down smoothly. I looked at my wife, and she seemed to be struggling a bit. She wasn't feeling well. She said it was delicious but a bit too fatty and strong for her. So, just eat what you can comfortably, and I'll finish the rest. I tried my wife's chicken noodles, and I understood why she found it challenging. It's quite fatty and a bit too bold in flavor. But on the contrary, I think a taste like this with a strong impact is good. Let's have the dumplings, but since my wife didn't join in, I ended up eating them all (^^;) But these dumplings are really delicious! They are juicy and have a wonderful taste. I love dumplings, and these ones here really impressed me! In the end, I ate quite a lot, but personally, I really liked this restaurant! However, it seems that my wife doesn't quite agree with the taste, so I might have to visit alone next time. When will I be able to go again... It was delicious! Thank you for the meal♪

Visited for the first time on January 5, 2022, the second visit of the year. Today is the last day of the New Year holiday! However, I had a little task to do on the 7th, so I decided to go to work to prepare for it. Some departments don't really have a New Year holiday, so it's not too bad. I worked in the morning, but the heating hasn't been on for 5 days, so it was so cold. I didn't do much and just did the bare minimum before leaving (laughs). Now, it's time for food. I didn't feel like going too far, but I remembered that there was a new restaurant in Nagano that I haven't been to yet. My wife probably wouldn't like this place, so I decided to go alone! The restaurant is called Oudan Nagano Honten, known for its delicious dumplings. When I entered, it looked like a newly opened restaurant in the midst of the pandemic, with quite a spacious layout. There were two groups of five customers ahead of me, and it was quite empty. This restaurant operates on a semi-self-service basis, so I was a bit confused about what to do, but the staff told me to "please sit at any table you like. We will come to take your order." So, I chose a table seat. Looking at the menu, it seemed that spicy Chinese dishes were the main focus. There were also some dishes that my wife might like. Since I was alone today... Alright! I'll order the mapo noodles and some dumplings (^^♪ They provided water after I ordered. I noticed that those who ordered set meals also got free rice and soup. Since I ordered noodles, I'll think about whether I can eat rice while eating the noodles. They take your order, but you have to carry the food to your table yourself. You also have to clear your own dishes, so it's a self-service style. When your table number is called, you go to pick up your food. The noodles and dumplings were ready at the same time. The mapo noodles looked really good, and the dumplings had a nice shape! Let's dig in. I'll start with the noodles. It's not really a soup, but more like mapo tofu on top, so I'll start with that. They use soft tofu, and the crumbled texture is to my liking. When I took a bite, I was surprised! The flavor of Sichuan peppercorns is strong, and it's quite spicy, with a weak sweetness. It's a very authentic Sichuan-style dish. This is quite good... I'll eat the noodles now. The soup is soy sauce-based, with the soup and mapo mixing together and coating the noodles. The noodles are slightly thin, with a high water content, which is a bit different from my preference, but the impact of the mapo tofu makes it not a big deal. Oh, I was surprised. It's really delicious! Now, the dumplings. When I put one in my mouth, the meat juice overflowed (^^♪ Be careful not to burn yourself, but these dumplings are also really delicious! Based on this experience, I think the boiled dumplings would also be delicious. I had the dumplings and the mapo tofu from the mapo noodles with rice as a side. The rice is kept warm after being cooked, so it's not great, and the soup is a slightly sour egg soup. It's a nice touch, but in the case of set meals, do you have to serve the rice yourself with the side dishes? If the first meal is like this, I personally would pass on the set meal (^^;) Anyway, the mapo noodles and dumplings were close to perfect in taste. I can imagine that the tantan noodles would also be delicious, so a revisit is definitely necessary. I'm glad I found something delicious on the last day of the New Year holiday! It was delicious!! Thank you for the meal♪

Visited Mai Rebi in November 2021 and was impressed by the spacious seating and family-friendly atmosphere. I decided to try the Tantanmen, opting for extra spicy with a level 2 numbing sensation. The self-service system for water, rice, and soup was a nice touch for those who like to have plenty. The soup had a refreshing sourness and a good balance of saltiness for a Sichuan-style dish. The spiciness was just right for me, with a strong kick of Sichuan peppercorns. The thin curly noodles were cooked perfectly. Overall, a cozy and welcoming restaurant that I would definitely visit again.

I visited this restaurant twice when it was located in a building in front of Sapporo Station, but it has since moved to the side of Naganuma or Kitahiroshima. The new restaurant is semi-self-service, where you order at your table but everything else is self-service. I was planning to try the set meal or regular ramen since I had already tried the spicy tan-tan noodles, but my wife got interested in the daily special set meal, and my son went straight for the ramen! In the end, we had: - Miracle Tan-Tan Noodles 900 yen: These noodles had a strong numbing sensation from the Sichuan pepper, but also a depth of flavor from other spices. I felt that these were much better than the trendy overly spicy tan-tan noodles. My wife really liked them and said she wanted to have them again next time. - Black Vinegar Karaage: I personally found the crispy chicken marinated in black vinegar delicious, but my wife thought the vinegar flavor was too strong. The meat was tender and the refreshing acidity was enjoyable. - My son's ramen was just a basic Chinese-style ramen, not a deeply flavored broth, but it was satisfying for him. Next time, we'll definitely try the dumplings. Maybe I'll let my son drive and have a beer! Thank you for the meal! (^o^)

This place is located in Nagasuma-cho, at West 11 South 6, between National Route 274 and Satsuyu Line. If you want to know the exact location, as always, please check the map on Tabelog. I heard that a Chinese restaurant has opened in a place that used to be a dining hall, so I was curious and decided to visit the restaurant. Upon arrival, I parked my car in the spacious parking lot in front of the restaurant and entered. Since there are no counter seats, I sat at a table for four and looked at the menu. I ordered the "Ankake Ramen" from the weekly menu this time. While waiting for my order, I looked around the restaurant and noticed that rice, soup, tableware, seasonings, and of course, water, are all self-service. After about 5-6 minutes, my table number was called, so I went to the counter to pick up my "Ankake Ramen" and brought it to my table. First, I tried the soup, which had a slightly thick texture and a sweet soy sauce flavor with a slightly high salt content. Next, I tried the noodles, which were medium thickness, yellow, and curly - a familiar Sapporo style noodle. Finally, the ingredients were not what I expected from a Chinese restaurant - the variety of vegetables was limited, with only wood ear mushrooms providing some texture. The vegetables, especially the Chinese cabbage, seemed half-melted and lacked texture. Additionally, the meat was quite soft, almost mushy - in simple terms, it was a dish of mushy vegetables and meat in a starchy sauce. This restaurant offers unlimited rice and soup refills, so it may be a good choice for those who like to eat a lot.

On the way back from Nanporo Town, I stopped by for dinner. I ordered 4 pieces of fried chicken, half portion of fried rice, 3 xiao long bao, and 5 gyoza. It's a self-service restaurant and I also had egg drop soup. The total bill was 2300 yen.
