Continuing with the 2022 reviews, I visited a ramen shop located across from Kuniyoshi Sake Brewery in Mashike Town. The building has an exterior that resembles a sake brewery, with parking spaces available on the side. During a trip to the north, I decided to stop by this place for lunch, as it had caught my attention before. Inside the shop, there are counter seats and table seats, although the space is not very large. It was lunchtime, so the shop was full, but I was seated at the counter after a 5-minute wait. Looking at the menu, they offer regular ramen as well as "Sake Brewery Ramen" made with Kuniyoshi Sake Brewery's sake lees, and "Sweet Shrimp Ramen" made with sweet shrimp from Mashike. This time, I ordered the "Sake Brewery Ramen (miso) for 870 yen." It was ready in about 8 minutes. The soup had a light yet flavorful taste, with a subtle hint of sake lees. The slightly thinner and curly noodles, compared to Sapporo noodles, paired well with the soup and were delicious. Personally, I felt that it would still be delicious even without the sake lees, so I am curious to try comparing it to regular miso ramen. I also noticed the "Sake Brewery Curry" on the menu, so I would like to try it if I have the chance.

If you pass through Masuke, you have to eat at Tanaka Shoten for the first time. I was torn between sake lees and sweet shrimp miso ramen. It was the most elegant shrimp-based soup I've ever had. It was so refined that I felt like I wanted a little more punch, but the more I ate, the more I enjoyed it. Thank you for the delicious bowl.

After visiting Kokkai Brewery and having a late lunch, we found a long line, so we decided to explore around Mokumae Station first. When we came back, the line was gone and luckily a table opened up. We ordered: Sweet Shrimp Miso Ramen for my father and sister for 820 yen, Half Miso Ramen for my niece for 570 yen, and Sweet Shrimp Miso Wonton Men for myself for 930 yen. The chef making the ramen seemed to be alone, with about four waitresses taking orders. It was a bit chaotic, with some mistakes in the orders and a lot of rushing around. The noodles ended up being overcooked, which was a bit disappointing. We asked for firm noodles, but they were still not quite right. The soup was also lukewarm and seemed a bit too salty and lacking in shrimp flavor. Maybe it was just a one-off bad experience. The wontons were unnecessary, and the regular Sweet Shrimp Miso Ramen might have been a better choice. My niece enjoyed the Half Miso Ramen, and my father seemed to like his ramen since he finished all his soup. But we all ended up feeling thirsty afterwards, probably due to the salty soup. It's disappointing when the noodles are not cooked properly from the start. The taste was good overall, so it's a shame that the experience was not better due to the issues with the preparation and service.

Today during my walk, I saw a golden eagle and a black kite. There is a shop across from Kunimare Sake Brewery that serves ramen made with Kunimare's sake lees. So, I ordered the sake lees miso ramen and a mini chashu bowl. The mini chashu bowl arrived in 5 minutes, followed by the ramen a minute later. The miso flavor of the soup was not too strong, with a noticeable sake lees taste. The seasoned bamboo shoots tasted like something you would find in a supermarket. The white negi (green onions) added a nice touch, and the spinach was a good addition. The flavored egg was slightly sweet. The chashu had a bit of a chewy texture. The noodles were thick and curly, slightly on the softer side. Overall, the impression was on the sweeter side. The mini chashu bowl, unlike the chashu in the ramen, had a tender texture and a sweet and savory flavor similar to a pork bowl, which was delicious.

I went to try the Sake Brewery Ramen that caught my attention last time! I ordered the salt flavor! It looks good with its white color. The toppings include chashu, bamboo shoots, half-boiled egg, spinach, and green onions. The first bite! There's a slight aroma of sake lees! It has a mild flavor. It's really good. It warms up the body too. The thin noodles also go well with it, and they quickly fill up the stomach! I finished all the soup. Thank you for the meal.

Today, I leisurely drove to the hair salon. For lunch, I tried the popular sweet shrimp ramen, but this time I went for the sweet shrimp wonton salt ramen. I highly recommend it. The shrimp inside the wonton was sweet and delicious. The soup had a fragrant shrimp flavor, making it a refreshing salt ramen. It was a satisfying day with just the right distance for a drive.

I felt like eating ramen after a long time, so I headed towards the Mozuka area! My destination is Tanaka Shoten. They have unique ramen such as "Sweet Shrimp Ramen" and "Sake Kasu Ramen." I arrived around 11:30. There was only one group waiting. I entered the store after about 5 minutes. I found "Spicy Miso" on the menu. I love spicy miso, so I ordered that first! Spicy Miso Ramen - 850 yen Chashu Topping +200 yen The ramen arrived, and it looked delicious. The ingredients were pork belly chashu, shinchiku, green onions, onions, and bean sprouts. I took a sip of the soup first. It had just the right amount of spiciness, which I liked. I could taste a good flavor, maybe from the sake kasu. I might be wrong since I have an unsophisticated palate. The noodles went well with the soup. I slurped it up in no time! The bean sprouts had a nice crunchy texture. The chashu was quite thick and satisfying to eat. Before I knew it, I had finished all the soup! Thank you for the meal.

I arrived at around 1:30 pm and there was one group of customers before me, with no customers behind me. I ordered the Miso Ramen with Sweet Shrimp @820 yen, as I had tried the Sake Kasu Ramen before. The dish was served in about 10 minutes. The aroma of shrimp wafted from the bowl. The chashu was thick slices of pork belly. It was interesting to find some tempura crumbs in the ramen. It wasn't as good as Ichiran, but my mouth was filled with the flavor of shrimp. The noodles were made from Hokkaido wheat, so I didn't have to worry about post-harvest issues. I thought it was a non-smoking place because there was an ashtray by the entrance, but it turned out to be different. I wonder why there is an ashtray by the entrance. The ramen was very delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Opposite to Mr. Kuniki's place is a ramen shop called Tanaka Shoten. They serve ramen that strongly emphasizes local flavors, so I decided to stop by. I tried the Sweet Shrimp Miso Ramen, which is a ramen that condenses the sweetness of locally sourced sweet shrimp. The curly noodles were cooked just right, and the soup, which contained the umami of sweet shrimp, paired well with the noodles. I also tried the Sake Lees Miso Ramen (half size), a ramen that can only be tasted here as it uses Mr. Kuniki's sake lees. The sake lees added a nice accent to the ramen in a good way.

On the way back from running errands in Wakkanai, I decided to have lunch in Masumoe and headed to a soba restaurant, only to find out that they were sold out of soba. So, we decided to have ramen here instead. It was a Sunday afternoon around 2 o'clock, and there were a few customers waiting. We wrote our names at the entrance and waited for about 15 minutes before being seated at the counter. Looking around, the restaurant had only three tables and several counter seats. I ordered the Sweet Shrimp Salt Ramen, while my companions ordered the Sweet Shrimp Soy Sauce Ramen and the Sweet Shrimp Miso Ramen with an additional wonton topping. It was quite a variety of choices. The ramen arrived at the counter within a few minutes, and the aroma of shrimp made my mouth water. The soup had a rich flavor with a hint of shrimp, not too overpowering, and the noodles were cooked just right, so I didn't get tired of eating them. The chashu pork and bamboo shoots were tender and delicious. I would like to try the Sake Brewery Ramen next time. Thank you for the meal.

Masuke (Masike). The JR ticket from Hage Station to Masike Station is now considered premium? It has only been a few years since the line was discontinued. Time flies, doesn't it? I stopped by on my way back from Wakkanai. ... After various twists and turns, I ended up at this restaurant. 1. Hanporo Nishin-ya in Haboro - The restaurant is closed until the end of February. 2. Sumire in Obira - Closed on Mondays? Wasn't it open? It was closed... 3. Masuke - A restaurant near this place with a great deal on lunch seafood bowls. It was closed. Yes, I was turned down by three places. ... Yes, there is a parking space next to the restaurant. There were no cars around 1:00 PM on Monday. No previous customers either. It can't be helped, the winter Oro Line is lonely, cold, and windy. It's common for there to be no cars passing by for 10 minutes. There were about 10 seats at the counter and maybe three table seats? I didn't take notes, so it's an estimate. When I entered, there were two cool-looking men who looked like they knew their ramen! This looks promising. I'm curious about the sake lees ramen at Kuni Sato Sake Brewery across the street, but let's stick to the basics here. I ordered the Sweet Shrimp Miso Ramen for 820 yen including tax. The regular Miso Ramen is 770 yen, so I chose the shrimp miso for an extra 50 yen, of course. I usually like to order rice with regular miso ramen, but I didn't order it this time because another review said it was delicious even without rice. It turned out to be the right choice. It has arrived, the Sweet Shrimp Miso Ramen. Let's try the soup. Hmm, it lacks punch. But the shrimp has a distinct shell flavor... Shell flavor? It's fragrant, you could say. The noodles are, hmm, quite good. They go well with this soup. The texture of the noodles is just right. There was a TV playing with sound, of course, but you could also hear a radio from the kitchen behind the counter. The crossing of these sounds isn't really pleasant. I wish they would choose one. As I was eating, a salaryman came in and ordered the Sweet Shrimp Miso Ramen in a large serving. It seems that this is the main attraction of this place after all. He quietly slurped his ramen. ... Huh? The sweetness is gradually coming out...? And although I initially thought it lacked punch, it surprisingly has a rich flavor...? Come to think of it, I remember feeling the same way when I had famous shrimp miso ramen at New Chitose Airport. Could this type of shrimp ramen become addictive if you recommend it? It's interesting how it turned out different from my initial impression. Before I knew it, I had finished the entire soup. Oh, I guess I didn't need rice after all. The ramen was satisfying on its own. It was an enjoyable ramen, unlike the strong Sapporo miso ramen.

Maske Town, Hokkaido. Visited in November of the 219th year. I apologize for the delay in posting this. Maske Town is famous for its sweet shrimp. Other notable attractions include Kunimare Sake Brewery and the old JR Maske Station (a filming location). The ramen shop here offers three flavors: miso, salt, and soy sauce. They also have a signature dish made with Kunimare Sake Brewery's sake kasu called "Sakagura Ramen" and "Sweet Shrimp Ramen." I chose the Sweet Shrimp Wonton Ramen (930 yen) and debated between salt and miso, ultimately choosing miso to avoid the risk of it being too shrimpy. The miso base was the right choice as the sweetness of the sweet shrimp shone through without any fishy taste. The broth had depth and the noodles had a nice chewy texture. The sweet shrimp wontons were deliciously plump and smooth. It was a unique and enjoyable experience, different from the popular shrimp ramen in Sapporo or New Chitose Airport. I appreciated the rich flavor of the sweet shrimp in this ramen and was glad I stopped by.

At the Marui Imai department store on the main street, there was a Hokkaido Market with delicious food. I tried the sweet shrimp ramen from Tanakaya in Mashike. The smell of the freshly made ramen was amazing, full of shrimp aroma! I wondered how it would taste. However, when I took a bite, it was just a regular soy sauce ramen... Where did the shrimp broth go? Where is the shrimp aroma? Maybe it would taste even better at the actual restaurant?

I don't like shrimp soup, so I had the sake kasu ramen, which is the recommended miso flavor at the restaurant. The soup is quite rich with the taste of miso being prominent. It's not oily, so the soup is also delicious. The noodles are medium-thick straight noodles. Thank you for the meal!

Opposite the country rare of Masuke, there is a ramen shop. It was mid-afternoon, so the seafood restaurants were preparing for the evening. I was drawn in by the sign for sweet shrimp tantan noodles, but they were sold out. They said they could make wonton noodles, so I ordered that. My companion had the sake lees miso ramen. When the bowls arrived, the smell of shrimp was amazing. The noodles were low-hydration square noodles, similar to those from Asahikawa. This is good. The soup was shrimp-based. It was quite shrimp-flavored, as expected from the hometown of sweet shrimp. It was delicious. The chashu was fatty, and sometimes tempura bits would peek out. The wonton was more like a shrimp dumpling, but it was refined with ginger to eliminate the strong shrimp smell. The noodles were quite good. I tried my companion's sake lees miso soup, and it was a miso ramen with a sake lees kick. It had a somewhat miso soup-like taste, but it was decent.

I had a day trip in this area and decided to have ramen here since I had some time. I have tried the miso ramen from this sake brewery before, so this time I tried the soy sauce ramen. The "Sake Brewery Soy Sauce Ramen" priced at 770 yen had a subtle sake lees flavor, but the soup was easy to drink without any strong taste. It looks rich, but surprisingly it was light. Sake lees have a unique flavor, so I felt like miso would be a better match. If I have the chance, I would like to try the sake brewery's salt ramen or the regular three flavors as well. Thank you for the meal.

Half portion of sweet shrimp salt ramen for 620 yen. Is Baby Star a snack? Then, ramen is also a snack, right? I had no interest in the popular ramen shop in Mashike, which is known for its sake lees and shrimp soup, but I was curious about how delicious it was because there is always a long line in the countryside. It's almost 3 pm on Sunday, but there are only 2 seats left at the counter and it's packed. The specialty here is the sake lees and sweet shrimp ramen. I'm not a fan of sake lees, so I opted for the half portion of sweet shrimp salt ramen. The red soup is amazing, with a strong shrimp flavor! It's a taste I'm not used to, but it feels delicious. There are small objects floating in the soup, which I thought were back fat, but they turned out to be fried tempura bits... Do they really need to be in there? I didn't see the necessity. I also tried a bit of my husband's ramen made with sake lees from Kuni sake brewery. It was too much for me, as I don't like sake lees, but I can understand why it's popular. Thank you for the meal.

While driving, it was lunchtime so we decided to go to a ramen shop recommended by a friend. It was right in front of Kunimare Sake Brewery, and the rich aroma of the ramen wafted outside, stimulating our appetites. Of course, we had to try the famous "Sweet Shrimp Ramen"! I ordered miso flavor, while my friend chose salt flavor, both in half sizes since we planned to eat more later. The Sweet Shrimp Tantanmen also looked delicious...and maybe the curry would have a unique taste too...as we chatted, our ramen was ready. The miso and salt ramen looked similar, but the taste was different. The salt ramen had a strong sweet shrimp flavor, while the miso ramen had a slightly milder taste. Both had a fantastic aroma of sweet shrimp. The curly noodles were well coated with the soup, and it seemed like the noodles themselves were infused with sweet shrimp flavor. We could have easily finished a full bowl instead of half! Next time we're in Moshiri, we'll definitely stop by again.

Located across from Kunimare-san. There was a line, so I wrote my name on the board at the entrance and waited for about 20 minutes before being seated. I ordered the Sake Kasu Ramen with miso and shio, and the Sweet Shrimp Ramen with shoyu and miso. The Sake Kasu Ramen had a strong sake lees flavor that blended well with all the other flavors and complemented the soup. The Sweet Shrimp Ramen was full of sweet shrimp flavor. Both ramen dishes had a clear concept and straightforward expression of their flavors. You could tell they were made with care. They also offer regular ramen, which I'm sure is delicious as well! I'll try that next time.

On the 26th, I was on a business trip and had lunch at "Menya Tanaka Shoten" in Mashike Town. I had tried Tanaka Shoten's ramen before at the Asahikawa Sanrokumatsuri festival, so when I went to Mashike, I wanted to visit the store. The menu can be found here. I chose the Amaebi Miso Ramen (800 yen) because I was impressed by it at the festival, although the Sakekura Ramen also caught my eye. The ramen had fried tempura bits, which was quite unusual. The noodles seemed homemade, and the aroma of shrimp was very pleasant. It was delicious. Note: This is a post from a blog.
