I was indecisive about whether to go to the restaurant I wanted to visit or not. I had been wanting to go there for many years. I ended up walking towards my destination, still unsure. When I finally arrived, the place was closed for renovation. I regretted not going there earlier. However, I decided to go back and enter the restaurant. I ordered a sandwich set for ¥1000. It was a good thing I walked there because I was hungry and the place wasn't too crowded. The restaurant had a smoking area at the back, which was spacious and relaxing. You can choose between a regular sandwich or a hot sandwich with various fillings. I chose the mixed egg hot sandwich with boiled egg, lettuce, ham, cucumber, and ketchup. It was messy to eat because everything kept falling out, and I ended up using my hands. I wished I had ordered a hot coffee instead. Overall, the hot sandwich was delicious. Going back to the restaurant was the right decision.

A coffee shop located right near Osaka Temmangu Station. It was my first visit and I was intrigued. The exterior of the shop gives off a promising vibe. It feels like they are running the business seriously. The coffee is priced at 400 yen, which is quite reasonable. They serve the coffee with plenty of cream, which is a big plus. The coffee itself has a strong bitterness and acidity, giving it a rich and bold flavor. It reminds me of the coffee you would find at old-fashioned coffee shops. The seating is smoking only, but surprisingly it wasn't too stuffy, perhaps due to the air conditioning working well. The service was good, and the interior was clean and had a sense of cleanliness. It lived up to my expectations.

I took the day off work to go to the hospital. I had some time to spare, so I went to a nostalgic café for breakfast. I ordered a sandwich and tea set. The sandwich came in two varieties: one with tomato, cucumber, and egg, and the other with tomato, cucumber, and ham. They were delicious.

Just a minute's walk from JR Temma, right next to Daikoku Drug Store. A traditional coffee shop loved by locals. The menu is quite extensive, and this time I had coffee jelly, toast, and banana juice. You can choose between ice cream or whipped cream for the coffee jelly. I chose ice cream 😊 It's homemade coffee jelly, so the coffee flavor is strong but quite delicious! The banana juice comes in a large cup and is great value for money! It was also delicious ❤️ However, it's a shame that smoking is allowed, so there was a smell of cigarettes on clothes and hair... If not for that, I would visit more often. But for locals, the option to smoke might be a deciding factor. Thank you for the meal. It was delicious.

Located a short walk south of Temmabashi Station, "Nishinaka Coffee Temma Plantan" is a lively and vibrant cafe where locals gather for conversation. The menu features sandwiches, toast, cakes, and desserts like pudding and pudding a la mode (reservation required). The drink menu offers a variety of coffees, teas, soft drinks, and fresh fruit juices. I ordered the mixed sandwich and cream soda, which came in a large glass with two scoops of vanilla ice cream. The sandwich was filled with various ingredients like eggs, tomatoes, and cucumbers on soft and fluffy bread. The area around Temma and Ogimachi has many dining options, but not as many cafes, making this a recommended spot for a casual tea break.

I went to a trendy retro-style coffee shop called Plantan in Temma. It was founded in 1971 and located just outside the Temma station. They are known for their delicious pudding, which requires a reservation at least 2 hours in advance. I had their direct fire roasted coffee, which had a great aroma, and also tried their Vienna coffee for 500 yen. The coffee was delicious, and I enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere with comfortable sofas and dim lighting. I would love to come back and try their pudding next time.

I heard that you need to make a reservation for the pudding, so I called about 30 minutes in advance. They told me to come in about 1.5 hours later! (laughs) They probably make it after taking orders? Can pudding be made in about 1.5 hours? Well, either way is fine. The inside of the restaurant is crowded with customers who are probably regulars. It's quite spacious and fortunately I was seated near the front, but in the back it was as noisy as an izakaya (laughs). Finally, the reserved pudding arrived. I had learned a bit beforehand, but I was excited to see what would come out. Wow! It's big! The firm pudding is topped with plenty of fruit and whipped cream, it's delicious. I'm glad I came! ★★★

Visited a cafe near Temma Station in early April 2019. It has a nostalgic Showa era atmosphere, making it easy to enter. The interior is spacious, with a counter right as you enter and a raised floor with table seating further back. Comfortable chairs and sofas create a relaxing space. The cafe is known for its generous fruit sandwiches. Since I had already eaten, I just ordered coffee. The customers were all locals, and it felt like time had stopped in this place. The coffee was served in a tall, sturdy cup, with a deep roast flavor, priced at 400 yen. It's a reasonable price, especially considering that many cafes now charge around 1,000 yen for a cup of coffee.

The blended coffee was delicious. I used to not like coffee with acidity, but as my palate got used to it, I found the bitterness and acidity of this coffee to be well-balanced and enjoyable. I only stayed for a short while for a meeting, but I would love to come back to this place for a leisurely chat.

I met up with an old friend for drinks in Temma after a long time. I arrived early and decided to kill some time. That's when I noticed this restaurant in the corner of my eye. "We close at 7 pm," the owner said apologetically. I checked the time and realized I only had 20 minutes left, but I decided to go in anyway. As I was about to step inside, I heard a loud snore. I almost stepped on a large dog sleeping in front of the floor. It was a black retriever. The kind owner explained that she is an old lady and always sleeps. I assured him that I didn't mind at all. The warm interior of the restaurant indicated that the dog was well taken care of. I sat in the back room, which had a European feel to it. I ordered a straight tea for 400 yen. I spent about 20 minutes reading. When it was time to pay, I chatted with the owner. He mentioned that the dog is a Flat-Coated Retriever from England and is quite old now. I also shared that my daughter's family in America has a Bullmastiff. We talked about big dogs for a while. I wanted to talk more, but it was time to leave. I promised to come back for lunch next time. A month later, I returned for lunch as planned. I ordered the mixed sandwich set for 1,000 yen, which came with a drink. The sandwiches were cut into bite-sized pieces for easy eating and were delicious with egg, ham, lettuce, mayonnaise, and ketchup. There was also a cherry on the side. I sprinkled a little salt and enjoyed every bite. It tasted even better with the iced coffee. I realized that I didn't see the old lady retriever near the entrance this time. When I asked the owner, he sadly told me that she had passed away. She had died in the arms of a regular guest who she loved dearly. It was a relief to know that she had a peaceful passing. The lifespan of large dogs is not long, around 7-10 years. She was 10 years old. Thinking about my daughter's family's dog and the inevitable parting that will come one day, my heart ached. The owner mentioned that she was happy to have been held by her favorite person when she passed away. Owning a pet means facing both encounters and farewells. I have experienced this with cats many times before, and more recently with people. I should have taken a picture of her calm face and figure during my last visit. Farewells come unexpectedly, for both humans and animals.

I had a fruit sandwich, coffee jelly, and a Vienna fruit sandwich, and I ate them all up in no time. The atmosphere of the shop was nice. However, smoking is allowed, so it might not be suitable for people who dislike it.

Iced coffee for 400 yen. The interior of the shop has an antique feel with comfortable chairs, making it a place where you could end up staying for a while. All seats allow smoking, making it an oasis for smokers. The coffee is also delicious.

The hot sandwich and mixed juice were both delicious with strong flavors.

It was a very atmospheric retro cafe. The drinks were generous and satisfying. I will definitely go back soon. I'm happy that smoking is allowed.
