I had a day off on Thursday, January 20, 2022, so after finishing my errands in the Tanimachi area, I walked to Yodoyabashi. I visited the Rakan main store around 11:30 am. It was lunchtime and it had been a while since I had lunch. The office district was bustling with customers everywhere, a busy time of day. There were already several groups of customers when I arrived, and more kept coming in. I sat at the counter and ordered the limited menu item, Chicken Tempura Set for 1000 yen including tax. Although I usually like the mackerel simmered set meal or the pork ginger set meal, I couldn't resist the limited menu item this time (laughs). The chicken tempura was made with Oyama chicken breast meat and you can choose to have it with hot mustard soy sauce or salt. Both were delicious. Since it was made with breast meat, it was light and easy to eat. The simmered radish and dried young sardines with grated radish in the side dish were also delicious. I feel like having a beer (laughs). The rice can be served in a larger portion and refills are free. They also offer takeout. It was a very satisfying lunch! Payment was made in cash. Thank you for the meal!

The stylish interior has counter and table seating, creating a calm atmosphere for dining and drinking. They offer free extra servings of rice and the portions are generous! Some recommended dishes include the "Fresh Tuna Rice Bowl" set meal for 1600 yen sourced from a tuna specialty store at Osaka Central Market, and the "Grilled Fish with Miso" set meal for 1100 yen. The "Beef Tataki Rice Bowl" set meal for 1600 yen is also highly recommended with rare and tender meat on a bed of rice. The taste is delicious with a balanced sweet sauce and wasabi on the side. Although it may be a bit pricey, it is worth trying!

I used it for lunch on a regular day. It is an izakaya located a 5-minute walk from Nishi-Hama Station on the subway, on the 1st floor of the Hocos Fushimiya Building. At the time of posting, there are 2 stores in Hirano-cho. The main feature is the daily fish menu sourced from the Osaka Central Market. The main store opened in November 2020 and is a small shop with a calm atmosphere and a total of 30 seats. The kitchen was run by 2 people and 1 person was in charge of customer service. This time, I ordered the "Chicken Tempura Set Meal 1000 yen" with the limited menu item "1-1-1 Address". The contents and evaluation are as follows. [◎,〇,△] Chicken Tempura ◎ An exquisite dish made with hot Tottori Daichi chicken breast! It's juicy and delicious with lemon salt! I went to Osaka for work. After finishing work early, I decided to explore for a traditional Japanese izakaya to grab a bite before heading to Kita-Shinchi for the main event of my business trip. Accompanied by a colleague, we found one. It looks like a typical izakaya. Just what I was looking for. Since I just wanted a light meal, here is a brief review. Sesame tofu - the richness and texture are irresistible. Black edamame - the beans are slightly black. Could it be the Tamba black edamame featured in Oishinbo?! Grated yam with plum dressing, shishamo smelt, cod milt with ponzu sauce, fresh sashimi from Koichi - similar to sea bream. A refreshing fish with no fishy taste. Steamed hamaguri clams - delicious. The broth is especially luxurious. The friendly manager even showed us the fish being cut. As a result, the place gradually got busier. I enjoy these kinds of places as they are calming. Thank you for the meal!

I was happy to see Jerusalem artichoke on the menu. I will try a variety of dishes. The order of the photos is in my preference. It was my first time trying Jerusalem artichoke potato fries, and they were delicious in their simplicity. The homemade sesame tofu served as an appetizer was a bit salty. It must have been made to pair well with delicious sake. Instead of raisin butter, they served red bean butter, which was interesting. Thank you for the meal.

It is located between Yodoyabashi and Kitahama. I knew that they serve lunch at this place that opened in this situation. I didn't have a chance to go, but when I passed by, I saw that the lunch menu had expanded. I was drawn to the words "Mapo Eggplant" and decided on it immediately. Since they ran out of eggplant, it became Mapo Tofu instead. I thought about changing to another menu, but I ended up ordering the Mapo Tofu. It came with two side dishes, miso soup, rice, and pickles. It was not the spicy Mapo Tofu with lots of Chinese chili oil, but a milder version. As stated on the menu, it was a bit spicy. I found it slightly spicy, so I think it would be even spicier for most people. The rice seemed freshly cooked and was delicious. You can also get a refill, so I think it's a satisfying lunch even for men. Thank you for the meal!

It's quite a comfortable space. The counter is spacious, the tables are well spaced out, and the ceiling is high. However, in my opinion, the dining area feels spacious but the kitchen feels cramped. As long as they serve delicious food, I'm okay with it being cramped. I had the shrimp cutlet set meal for 1,000 yen this time. The freshly fried shrimp cutlet was delicious, and it even came with sesame tofu, so the contents were good. The only thing I found a bit challenging was the wait time for lunch service, which took 17 minutes. This might be tough in a business district. Also, there were many dishes left uncleared on the tables (ToT). I'm not sure if it's due to lack of staff or the small kitchen, but it's a shame because the food itself is good.

The main store opened in November after relocating from Namba. Lunch menu available from 11:30 to 14:00 ◆ Chicken thigh tempura set meal (900 yen) ◆ Simmered mackerel set meal (900 yen) ◆ Raw Tekkadon set meal (1000 yen) ◆ Pork ginger set meal (900 yen) ◆ Beef tataki set meal (1500 yen) Visited at 11:30 on a weekday, no other customers were there. We ordered "Raw Tekkadon" and it was served in 5 minutes. It had about 10 slices of tuna with chopped green onions and seaweed on top. The sauce was served separately, so we added wasabi to it. The rice was warm (not sushi rice), and it came with mozuku seaweed, sesame tofu, pickles, and miso soup. It also included a hot spring egg, which we cracked over the tuna halfway through the meal. We were full and satisfied. "Thank you for the meal."

A well-known restaurant that was located near Namba Grand Kagetsu has moved to Kitahama, and I visited to celebrate their reopening since it's close to my office. I ordered a sashimi platter, salted koji-marinated squid, mozuku seaweed, and a highball, all of which were delicious and made with fresh fish. Next, I tried the deep-fried tuna and a cheese platter with wine. The food was even better than when it was in Namba, and the staff were friendly and the atmosphere was great. I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the meal.

When I brought in the fish I caught, I was directed to another store nearby, as the store I visited did not accept fish brought in. The new store, which used to be the main store in Namba, seems to have relocated to the area near Hirano Town. Despite being an office district, the area was surprisingly lively even on the first day of a 3-day weekend. The restaurant had a stylish atmosphere with a spacious counter and about four tables, and the capacity was decent. I ordered dishes using the fish I caught, with each fish costing 1000 yen to prepare. They were able to prepare the dishes by 8 pm, which was very convenient. I brought in mackerel, king mackerel, yellowtail, and blowfish (all caught fresh) and ordered them in various styles such as sashimi, sushi, grilled, simmered, and fried. The fish was incredibly delicious, being freshly caught. The manager and staff were all kind and attentive, making it a wonderful evening. I highly recommend this place for those who enjoy fishing. I look forward to visiting again for a regular meal next time.

I had the fresh tuna bowl set for 1600 yen. It was a late lunch around 1:40 pm so there were no other customers. The miso soup was delicious, but I felt it was a bit expensive for lunch.
