Monja and not only Monja were very delicious, and the staff's customer service was energetic and very good! And the prices were reasonable! Even though four of us ate until we were full, it was exactly 3000 yen per person, amazing... I want to bring my family next time. It was delicious, thank you for the meal!

It is quietly tucked away in a narrow alley. The large lantern is a landmark. Inside, the restaurant is spacious with table seats, counter seats, and a second-floor private room, suitable for various occasions. It's great that they are open late at night! When you order monjayaki, the staff cooks it with care and light conversation. In addition to monjayaki, there are other delicious dishes that go well with drinks. Thank you for the meal!

I wanted to eat highball, beef tendon, kimchi, natto, cheese, avocado, and sashimi, so I made a quick stop at the fourth place. My stomach was already full, so I just had a little bit of monjayaki while sipping on drinks. It was my friend's first time trying monjayaki, and they seemed to enjoy the classic mentaiko mochi cheese flavor. I couldn't resist the temptation of beef tendon, which was delicious! The bottle of shichimi on the table had a strong sansho flavor, so I wished there was ichimi available too. I love sansho, but I prefer adding some spiciness. If I feel like eating monjayaki again, I will definitely go back!

Fukushima Station is just a 1-minute walk away. If you want to eat delicious Monjayaki in Fukushima, this is the place to go! Reservations are essential, especially on weekends, even if you call on the same day, you might be turned down, so it's best to go directly to the restaurant and inquire. There are 5 branches in Osaka! In addition to Monjayaki, they also offer foil-grilled dishes, teppanyaki, appetizers, and meat dishes, so the menu is extensive. It's a great place to enjoy Monjayaki as your first or second stop. They offer a wide variety of Monjayaki, not just the typical kind, but also interesting options like mapo tofu and miso. You can customize your toppings to suit your taste. This time, I ordered the Mugi Special Monjayaki (including tax: 1562 yen) and the Shiso Pork Cheese (including tax: 1518 yen). The Mugi Special Monjayaki is loaded with 10 ingredients including pork belly, shrimp, squid, shimeji mushrooms, enoki mushrooms, corn, chikuwa (tube-shaped fish paste cake), tuna, dried baby sardines, and sakura shrimp. The staff will cook the Monjayaki for you, so even beginners can enjoy it with peace of mind. Each bite offers a different texture and flavor due to the 10 ingredients. The slightly thick batter has a rich flavor, making it perfect for pairing with drinks. The Shiso Pork Cheese is a recommended choice if you're unsure what to order as your second Monjayaki. The shiso adds a nice touch, and the generous amount of cheese pairs perfectly, making it a guaranteed hit! Monjayaki restaurants are not common in Osaka, so this place is a gem. Thank you for the feast! Check out their website for more information on their Osaka locations: https://higachannpoko.com. I wanted to eat Monjayaki after a long time, so I made a reservation. Even on weekdays, the restaurant was quite busy. I ordered beer and some appetizers, and carefully selected the Monjayaki. I chose the restaurant's special base and added toppings like natto, mochi, and wiener to create a voluminous Monjayaki. The volume of mochi made me full with just one piece. Thank you for the delicious meal!

Osaka is known for okonomiyaki, while Tokyo is known for monjayaki. Considering this cultural difference, it's rare to find monjayaki in Kansai, so if a restaurant is thriving there, it must be delicious. This time, I made a reservation at Mugisann in Fukushima, which apparently has its main branch in Tsukishima, Tokyo. The restaurant was packed, especially with women. I ordered the Mugisann Special monjayaki, and the staff spread it out on the hot plate. After waiting for a while, they scraped off the crispy parts and served it. It had a sweet sauce that went well with beer or highball. It felt more leisurely compared to okonomiyaki. I wish monjayaki would become more popular in Osaka.

It was very delicious. This is the kind of place where you would want to go after drinking and eat endlessly until you're full. However, I found it slightly heavier compared to what I had in Tokyo. It might be better to go when you want to eat a proper meal rather than just snacks. If you want to eat monjayaki in Fukushima, this is a must-visit place.

Had dinner with my former boss and junior colleague. Got hooked on monjayaki and found a place in Fukushima! The exterior of the restaurant had a nostalgic vibe that I liked. The photo shows monjayaki with Kyoto vegetables, it was delicious with many unique options. I want to make sure to visit this place first next time.

While searching for a pork cutlet restaurant, we stumbled upon a "monjayaki" place. A colleague who had spent six years studying in Tokyo predictably pronounced "monja" with a Tokyo accent. We started our drinking party early, so the drinking time seemed to be proportional to that. I made it clear that we wouldn't stay long, and we ordered highballs and monjayaki. We left the choice of monjayaki type to the staff, and they mixed and cooked it on the iron plate. It was nice that the staff cooked it for us. After it was cooked, we quietly enjoyed it while scooping it up with a small spatula. The chewiness came from the squid. There were finely chopped cabbage, leeks, and shrimp in it as well. Is this your first time trying monjayaki? I've been alive for over 50 years, but this was my first time eating it. It was cooked to be slightly raw or half-cooked. When eating, we were instructed to "sizzle" the spatula on the iron plate. It felt like eating the burnt part, but it was surprisingly delicious.

It's been about 6 years since I last had Monja. I used to eat it at Hyakujyu in Grand Front, and while it wasn't bad, I couldn't believe that this kind of food had become established as a genre in Japan. Seeing Paripi Komei, EIKO, and Nanami eating Monja made me think that this time it was somewhat delicious. I thought it would be okay to eat it once every few years. I couldn't handle a portion of Yakisoba like Nakano Gogatsu-sama, so I only ordered one portion. It was the type with thick noodles cooked firm, and it was delicious. By the way, the "Dotonbori Yakisoba" promoted by the Japan Common Association, even with thick noodles, was not good (I can't remember when I last ate it). If there's a poster of it in a restaurant, I won't order Yakisoba there. Asahi draft beer (medium), smashed cucumber, wheat special Monja mix Yakisoba.

Dinner time at Monja Mugi in Fukushima Ward. Located next to a public bath, with a big lantern as a landmark. Made a reservation by phone and entered the restaurant. The atmosphere is calm with a stylish indirect lighting in a renovated old house. Cheers with a highball for the first drink of the night~♫ The dishes we had were: ◆ Strong Noritaku Cheese Korean seaweed wrapped with cream cheese and pickled radish, perfect for drinking with alcohol♫ ◆ Pork flat grilled sauce with mayonnaise, a rich flavor that goes well with alcohol❤︎ ◆ Mentaiko Mochi Cheese Monja, the most popular monjayaki here. The staff skillfully makes it rhythmically with both hands holding the spatula. More impressive than the usual okonomiyaki we're used to eating (〃艸〃) They kindly stop their hands when taking photos. The way of eating the monjayaki by scooping it up with a small spatula after it's cooked is also fun~♫ The combination of mentaiko, mochi, and cheese is definitely delicious❤︎ ◆ Curry Special Monja, a request from my partner. Spicy curry flavor with the sweetness of corn, also delicious~(〃艸〃) Satisfied with the friendly staff and delicious monjayaki❤︎ Thank you for the meal☆

We went to Mugi-san for our second stop of the day. Since it was our second stop, we focused on drinking and didn't order dishes other than the tantan monja and cucumber. The monja did a fantastic job once again! We were joking that monja is perfect for the second stop. There were many other menu items that caught our attention, so we want to try a variety of dishes next time.

The stable and delicious "toropurumonja"! If you drop by without a reservation, you might only find seats at the counter due to its popularity! But watching the cute staff cook right in front of you at the counter is also a great experience. You can see various dishes being prepared, making you want to try them all. The "toropurumonja" at Monja Mug's Teppan Abeno and Shinsaibashi is consistently delicious, but the atmosphere and size of the restaurant in Fukushima might be better. It gets crowded quickly, so making a reservation is the best option!

The sneaky egg skin-chan, for some reason, has become obsessed with monjayaki and really wants to go to a monja restaurant. So, we searched for a monja restaurant in Fukushima and found this place that came up. With the always caring K-chan, the year-round T-shirt-san, and I, we went to check it out. It was a Sunday night in Fukushima, so we thought we might not be able to get in if we went without a reservation, but luckily, we made it just in time (even though it was after 8 pm). The restaurant is located in a narrow alleyway where other shops near JR Fukushima are lined up, and it seems like an old house that has been renovated. It wasn't very spacious, so the only available seats for four people were on the 2nd floor, which had only three table seats. It was quite cramped, but it gave us a cozy feeling like we were having monjayaki at a countryside grandma's house. I'm not very familiar with the basics of monjayaki, but at this restaurant, the staff mostly cook it for you until it reaches a certain point. Then, you create a mound with the ingredients, pour in the broth, and let it solidify. After that, you use a small spatula to slowly char and solidify the outer layer while eating. The hot spots on the iron plate made it a bit challenging, and I struggled to get a crispy crust. The flavor was quite intense, and I started to get tired of it halfway through. Maybe I prefer okonomiyaki after all.

Famous delicious Monjayaki restaurant in Fukushima Ward! The store in Fukushima offers a variety of grilled dishes and Monjayaki, and it is larger compared to other affiliated stores! There are also seats on the second floor. The Monjayaki with mentaiko, mochi, and cheese is really delicious! It's not thin, and the broth is rich and flavorful! I had seconds of the same Monjayaki, haha. And above all, the owner here is very good at talking and customer service!

After having tempura, we had monjayaki! The mentaiko mochi cheese here is incredibly delicious. The restaurant in Tsukishima is also good, but there is also delicious monjayaki in Osaka. You should definitely go. The ones without mentaiko mochi cheese were just average in taste.

It's been a while since I visited Fukushima at night, and I feel so excited! I made a reservation at Mugi-san, a Monjayaki restaurant, for the first time at 5 pm. It is located towards the back of a bustling narrow street. Just walking down this street increases my excitement! The first floor has table and counter seats, and there are also seats on the second floor. If it gets crowded, there is a 90-minute time limit. Now, let's cheers with a highball! While looking at the menu posted on the wall, I ordered the most popular "Mentaiko Mochi Cheese" for 1320 yen and the "Mugi Special" for 1370 yen. While waiting, I nibbled on smashed cucumbers. I waited for the hot plate to heat up, and the staff skillfully cooked the ingredients. Using a spatula, they rhythmically chopped the ingredients. The extremely thin squid-like ingredient, not often seen in Osaka, brings out a good broth. It has started to sizzle. The fragrant smell is delightful. Using a small spatula, I press and eat, press and eat. The saltiness and texture of the mentaiko, along with the umami of the dough, must be thanks to the squid. This goes well with alcohol! For sake, I chose the Karatamba. Hmm, I wonder if not many people drink sake with Monjayaki. So, I opted for white wine by the bottle instead. It's cold and refreshing, perfect for Monjayaki. I also added mixed yakisoba and pork okonomiyaki, and then another Monjayaki. Even though I'm already full~ Who's going to eat this? The yakisoba noodles are thick and have a firm and chewy texture. The contrast between the textures of Monjayaki and yakisoba is delicious. And the worries about who will eat it disappear. We finished everything neatly. It's a lively and friendly restaurant!

On a holiday visit, I went to this restaurant in Shinsaibashi, which I had been to in the past and had a delicious memory of. The first-floor counter seats were my preference, but this time we had a group, so we were seated at a table on the second floor with a sunken kotatsu. We ordered side dishes like Caesar salad, tomato slices, grilled mushrooms, and tonpeiyaki. And the main dish was monjayaki. The mentaiko mochi cheese monja for 1320 yen is said to be the most popular monja at this restaurant. The Mugi Special Monja for 1370 yen includes ingredients like pork, shrimp, squid, shimeji mushrooms, enoki mushrooms, corn, chikuwa, and kiriika. The beef tendon curry cheese for 1320 yen has a curry flavor that is not too strong, and I really like it. We grilled and chopped it ourselves, made a levee, and had a great time together. The monjayaki at Mugi is really delicious. It's my favorite dashi flavor among all the monjayaki restaurants I know in Osaka. We finished with yakisoba, which had thick flat noodles. It was a satisfying meal. Thank you for the feast.

Family outing. I wanted to eat monjayaki. Found it through a nearby search. Immediately called the restaurant. It's a cozy little place. The interior is beautiful. We were guided to the second floor. The stairs were old-fashioned, narrow, and steep. Be careful with the kids. For the monjayaki, we ordered 3 Mugi Special, Mentaiko Mochi Cheese, and Beef Tendon Curry Base. The staff seemed to be the ones doing the cooking, but we asked them to cook 2 and we did the third one ourselves. It was fun cooking it ourselves. The monjayaki from Mugi was delicious. The batter was tasty with no unpleasant aftertaste from seasoning. We thought 3 might be too much, but we ended up finishing it all. Everyone couldn't stop eating. We even fought over the burnt parts. We also ordered mushroom yaki, buttered corn, salad, yakisoba, but even with all that, the 3 monjayaki was the highlight. I was hesitant about the curry monjayaki since I don't usually like curry flavor, but it wasn't overpowering and was delicious. I could even go for another one! However, we'll head home for today. We might come back again. It was delicious! Thank you!

I was still hungry for a second meal, so I went to Monja Wheat, which is open late into the night! I arrived around 2 AM and the restaurant was about 70% full! The monja and yakisoba were delicious, and the tonpei-yaki and yam were also very tasty! Next time, I want to go there on an empty stomach!
