Fukushima Station is just a 1-minute walk away. If you want to eat delicious Monjayaki in Fukushima, this is the place to go! Reservations are essential, especially on weekends, even if you call on the same day, you might be turned down, so it's best to go directly to the restaurant and inquire. There are 5 branches in Osaka! In addition to Monjayaki, they also offer foil-grilled dishes, teppanyaki, appetizers, and meat dishes, so the menu is extensive. It's a great place to enjoy Monjayaki as your first or second stop. They offer a wide variety of Monjayaki, not just the typical kind, but also interesting options like mapo tofu and miso. You can customize your toppings to suit your taste.
This time, I ordered the Mugi Special Monjayaki (including tax: 1562 yen) and the Shiso Pork Cheese (including tax: 1518 yen). The Mugi Special Monjayaki is loaded with 10 ingredients including pork belly, shrimp, squid, shimeji mushrooms, enoki mushrooms, corn, chikuwa (tube-shaped fish paste cake), tuna, dried baby sardines, and sakura shrimp. The staff will cook the Monjayaki for you, so even beginners can enjoy it with peace of mind. Each bite offers a different texture and flavor due to the 10 ingredients. The slightly thick batter has a rich flavor, making it perfect for pairing with drinks.
The Shiso Pork Cheese is a recommended choice if you're unsure what to order as your second Monjayaki. The shiso adds a nice touch, and the generous amount of cheese pairs perfectly, making it a guaranteed hit! Monjayaki restaurants are not common in Osaka, so this place is a gem.
