This is a soba restaurant located in the middle of Tenjinbashi-suji shopping street. Taking a break at the fifth stop of the backstreet bar hopping in Temma. Found a soba restaurant in the arcade street and decided to stop by. In Osaka, known for its preference for American flour, it's quite rare to find a Shinshu soba restaurant. The compact restaurant was full of customers during lunchtime. The brisk female owner quickly led us to a table where a man was slurping his soba. We shared a table with him. I was impressed by the cheap bottled beer on the menu, but decided to take a break for now. I'll go with the tanuki soba. However, what appeared was kitsune soba topped with a large piece of aburaage. In Kansai, this is called tanuki, but that's not true. Maybe I was tricked by a tanuki. I couldn't quite understand with my tipsy head, but I slurped it all up. Thank you for the meal. Now, where should I go next?

The popular menu item at the restaurant is cold soba noodles. The portion size is quite large, so a regular size is sufficient. I asked for plenty of tempura crumbs on top. It has a simple taste, with a focus on the combination of ingredients and the cold broth, which makes it delicious and I can see why it's a popular menu item. It was delicious. The restaurant is also open at night, which is also nice.

I visited the "Shinshu Soba" Nakazaki branch in the Tenroku Nakazaki Shotengai. The place was bustling with people, so I decided to try the "Kizami Soba and Mini Katsudon" set for 850 yen. The broth of the soba was delicious, and the mini katsudon had three small pieces of tonkatsu which were just the right amount. I couldn't find out if Shinshu Soba is a chain restaurant, but there is another branch in Temma, Kita-ku, Osaka.

I had a sudden craving for curry rice topped with a raw egg yolk, with a strong dashi flavor, so I headed to this old-fashioned soba restaurant located in Tenjinakazaki Shotengai. The interior had a Showa-era Japanese atmosphere, with no counter seats but instead tables and a raised tatami seating area. There were colorful menu boards with English translations, reflecting the influx of foreign visitors. The menu offered a variety of soba dishes, rice bowls, curry udon, ankake udon, and set meals with rice dishes. I ordered the curry rice bowl, which arrived in about 5 minutes, served with miso soup and a raw egg yolk on top. The curry had a nice dashi aroma, a sweet flavor with a mild spiciness from curry powder and starch, and the raw egg yolk added a creamy touch. The curry contained beef, onions, and green onions, staying true to Osaka-style curry. Although I felt a bit hesitant not ordering soba at a soba restaurant, this curry rice bowl was quite delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I ordered the cold zaru soba for 600 yen. Both the soba and the dipping sauce were to my liking. The soba noodles were not too thin or too thick. The dipping sauce had a rich dashi flavor and a subtle sweetness that was elegant. It gave me the impression of combining the best of Kansai and Kanto styles. I plan to come back on my day off to try the tempura zaru soba and bottled beer set for 1,100 yen. I noticed a few other customers ordering the same set. The restaurant has table seating near the entrance and a raised tatami seating area towards the back right side. I spent 600 yen in total. I found a great soba restaurant!

In the cold weather, I always crave for ankake udon! I visited Shinshu Soba in the Nakazaki Shotengai area of Osaka! It's a chain restaurant, right? When it gets cold, I always want to eat ankake udon with a strong ginger flavor - it's so good! In the summer, I prefer curry udon though! The broth is light and simple, but it's so comforting and I love it. Thank you for the meal!

"Shinshu Soba" as the restaurant name sounds quite confident, maybe it's a common approach in Osaka? The menu offers mini rice bowl sets like tempura rice bowl and pork cutlet rice bowl, as well as a soba noodles option. The prices are quite reasonable for Osaka. The soba noodles looked more like 50% soba, not the best quality. The mini tempura rice bowl had a sweet sauce, while the mini pork cutlet rice bowl had a really small cutlet. The dipping sauce for the soba noodles was different from the rice bowl sauces and was quite flavorful. Overall, the portions were small but filling for the price. Not much to complain about with the affordable prices.

A few minutes walk from Nakazakicho Station. Head to this restaurant in Ten-go Nakazakicho shopping street. Ordered the mixed topping set meal (soba + mixed topping rice) and tried it out! The soba broth is quite tasty and good. The noodles have a nice firm texture, but could be a bit firmer. The mixed topping rice is just average. It's a bit mushy, so that's a bit disappointing. Overall, it was a decent meal. The prices are reasonable, and the restaurant can also be used for drinking at night. However, the place looks a bit old, so cleanliness is not the best.

It's the season for moon viewing, and there are various dishes that are associated with this tradition such as udon, donburi, and even hamburgers. However, the most popular choice might be "tsukimi soba". This time, I visited "Shinshu Soba" in the Tenjin Nakazaki-dori shopping street, also known as "Oideyasu Street". The restaurant has a lively atmosphere, both outside and inside. The service is quick, and they even provide a special dish for the meal. It's definitely a step up from standing and eating. I would like to try their oden next time.

I don't usually pass by the "Ten-go Nakazaki Street Shopping District (Oideyasu Street)" where this restaurant is located, but I sometimes use it as my commuting route on rainy days. One day, on my way home, I happened to see a sign saying "Today's Special: Hito-n Donburi 800 yen ⇒ 700 yen" and it caught my attention. There are days when the "Hito-n Donburi" changes to "Oyako Donburi." Yesterday, it was raining so I planned to visit for the first time, but it was "Oyako Donburi" day so I didn't enter. I tried again today and it was "Hito-n Donburi" day, so I ordered it with a side of cold soba. The meat in the "Hito-n Donburi" is often beef in Kansai, similar to a "Gyudon." The taste was somewhat light, perhaps in a Kansai-style. The soba had a strong texture typical of Shinshu soba.
