From Nagasaki Station, take the Kamome Limited Express to Hakata, then transfer to a local train to Fukuma Station. Fukuma Station is surprisingly large, so take a taxi from the station to the glamping facility at Fukuma Beach. We rented a cottage by the beach, and for dinner we had a BBQ course on the deck. The staff prepared the charcoal before sunset, and we enjoyed a luxurious dinner watching the sunset and listening to the sound of the waves. The meal included meat, vegetables, abalone, seafood, and brioche bread. You can freely add vegetables and bring your own drinks, including alcohol. The cottage kitchen is well-equipped, so aside from needing a grill, you won't have any problems. Our stay during the middle day of Golden Week was a truly elegant experience.

Fukuoka Prefecture, Fukutsu City, Nishifukuuma 4-10-10, Glamping Fukuoka. Opened in August 2017. Budou no Ki, a lodging facility on the coast. Glamping is a combination of "glamorous" and "camping", offering a luxurious camping experience for adults. The indoor area is non-smoking (smoking allowed outdoors), and pets are not allowed. Accommodation may be postponed depending on the weather. Price for 2 people using 1 unit starts from 8,800 yen per person (excluding tax). Website: http://fukutsu-glamping.jp/index.php Veranda Outdoor activities are now called "veramping", and glamorous camping is known as "glamping". We had been doing veramping at home as a family, and suddenly someone suggested going glamping. After seeing some amazing pictures of celebrities enjoying glamping around the world, I was curious about the cost. However, we found a more casual facility nearby and decided to go. Located on Fukuma Beach Road in Fukutsu City, Fukuoka Prefecture, Glamping Fukuoka offers a unique camping experience where you can feel the sea breeze and hear the sound of the waves. It is a resort where people of all ages, including three generations of families, can enjoy outdoor activities. There are several accommodation options available: 1) Tent site (with a small room equipped with air conditioning and heating for outdoor experiences), 2) Sky Dome (a "sky tent & cruiser" limited to one group per day, available from March to October), 3) Annex Building (4 cottages with rooftop terrace), and 4) Cottage Building (4 cottages with different concepts each). We decided to stay in the Sky Dome "Sky Tent & Cruiser", which is the symbol of Glamping Fukuoka and the world's first seaside sky tent. The ultimate glamping dome! The living space includes a bright pink cruiser! Watching the sunset from the sky tent is truly special! Experience glamping in a one-of-a-kind space where you can hear the sound of the waves! Upon arrival, we parked our car in the parking lot and headed to the front desk. Check-in times vary depending on the plan. Luggage storage is available from 2:00 PM, and the final check-in is at 6:30 PM. They provide rental items for you to enjoy in your room. For dinner, you can have a BBQ in your room or dine at the on-site restaurant. We opted for a BBQ dinner with breakfast included in our reservation. The Sky Dome "Sky Tent & Cruiser" can accommodate 2 to 5 people. The dome includes mattresses, sofa beds, lighting, rugs, fans, bedding, extension cords, chairs, a Weber BBQ, dining table, chairs, and a tarp tent. The cruiser includes air conditioning, a table, chairs, a double bed, a refrigerator, audio-visual equipment, and amenities such as towels and toothbrushes. Next to the tent site, there are separate shower rooms and toilets for men and women. It's important to note that despite the luxurious image of glamping, the essence is still camping. You are expected to enjoy nature in a somewhat rustic setting. Quiet time starts at 10:00 PM, and outdoor lights are turned off. You can purchase soft drinks, alcoholic beverages, snacks, and sweets at the front desk. After checking in, you can pick up dishes and ingredients at the central kitchen. For dinner, we had a beachside BBQ dinner. The staff helped us with setting up the charcoal and table. The menu included a variety of items such as vegetables, abalone, beef loin, back ribs, chicken smoke, sausages, sea snails, skewered vegetables, seafood bouillabaisse, and brioche. You can bring your own drinks, so we brought some champagne. The staff even offered us a complimentary glass of hot wine. Ice and cups are available for free at the management building, and you can rent a cooler box with ice for 500 yen. Despite the slightly cloudy weather, having a BBQ by the beach was a delightful experience. After dinner, we cleaned up and returned the dishes. It's recommended to use the simple showers early, as they are not available after lights out at 10:00 PM. It was a unique experience, and we enjoyed every moment of our glamping adventure.

I had always wanted to try glamping, so I decided to go with the "Fukuoka Glamping Trip" package. It was a great deal at 9,500 yen per person with breakfast and dinner included. I stayed in a bamboo tent to experience that camping vibe. The tent was spacious and cute inside, very cozy. Of course, when it comes to glamping, BBQ is a must! They served beef loin steak, whole chicken, homemade sausages, grilled vegetables, han-gou bread, and even a choice of camp meals like "red wine beef stew". It was a luxurious set and I was so full! There was also a bedroom with air conditioning and heating next to the tent, so I had a comfortable sleep at night. The atmosphere with the lights at night was also lovely. Camping can be a hassle to prepare from scratch, but with glamping, it's easy and enjoyable. I definitely want to go again! 😊✨

I went to a popular glamping spot. To be honest, camping is cheaper and you get the best of both worlds, but as someone who always takes care of the house, if I'm going to spend the same amount of money, I'm definitely more of a traditional inn person. However, with the increasing number of COVID-19 cases and concerns about traveling out of the prefecture, along with the Fukuoka Rediscovery Campaign limited to within the prefecture, I thought it would be a great idea to take the kids for Gao's birthday. The Fukuoka Rediscovery Campaign allows you to purchase a 10,000 yen voucher for 5,000 yen per person staying, so with 5 people (even toddlers who need extra care), we saved up to 25,000 yen. I hurried to buy the vouchers at the convenience store, as Seven Eleven was sold out but Lawson still had some available. So, we headed to the trending glamping spot... "Glamping Fukuoka Budo no Ki." It was cold today in Fukuoka. My husband, who is usually laid-back, seemed surprisingly relaxed after just a week-long business trip. We had brought bento boxes, so for dinner, we decided to have a hot pot with the side dishes. After checking in and receiving the Fukuoka Rediscovery Campaign vouchers, temperature checks, and COVID-19 precautions, we felt reassured. The cottage we stayed in was a bit pricey at around 24,000 yen per night for 2 meals per adult, but it was worth it. The last room available was the classical style, which I ended up loving the most. The family-friendly rooms were fully booked, but they seemed larger and I'm sure the kids would have enjoyed them more. The beds were comfortable, with 2 on the first floor and 2 on the second floor. There was a microwave inside the closet, which was a bit odd. They provided insect repellent spray, which I always keep on hand. It freezes and kills insects without any strong odors, so it's safe to use, and it was the only insecticide available. The amenities included shower gel from The Body Shop. The staff kindly instructed us on how to use it, but the kids ended up using too much. There are meal plans without dinner available, which would be great for couples or friends. I prefer cooking my own meals daily, so I didn't want to cook even when going out, but having breakfast set in the fridge for the next morning (easy to prepare on your own) was a nice touch. The kitchen was stylish but had limited utensils due to safety precautions, which was understandable. Overall, it was a lovely experience, especially in these times of social distancing. The view of the sea from the window on the second floor was breathtaking.

Budo no Ki offers glamping by the coast with activities like SUP, beach yoga, and more. They provide equipment rental, BBQ sets, and have spacious cottages for couples, families, or groups. The staff is friendly, the facilities are comfortable, and the view of the sea is amazing. You can enjoy the calm waves all year round, making it perfect for both kids and adults. They also have a sushi restaurant called "Umi no Iro" with stunning views of the Genkai Sea. Overall, highly recommended for a relaxing seaside getaway with delicious food.
