Veranda Outdoor activities are now called "veramping", and glamorous camping is known as "glamping". We had been doing veramping at home as a family, and suddenly someone suggested going glamping. After seeing some amazing pictures of celebrities enjoying glamping around the world, I was curious about the cost. However, we found a more casual facility nearby and decided to go.
Located on Fukuma Beach Road in Fukutsu City, Fukuoka Prefecture, Glamping Fukuoka offers a unique camping experience where you can feel the sea breeze and hear the sound of the waves. It is a resort where people of all ages, including three generations of families, can enjoy outdoor activities. There are several accommodation options available: 1) Tent site (with a small room equipped with air conditioning and heating for outdoor experiences), 2) Sky Dome (a "sky tent & cruiser" limited to one group per day, available from March to October), 3) Annex Building (4 cottages with rooftop terrace), and 4) Cottage Building (4 cottages with different concepts each).
We decided to stay in the Sky Dome "Sky Tent & Cruiser", which is the symbol of Glamping Fukuoka and the world's first seaside sky tent. The ultimate glamping dome! The living space includes a bright pink cruiser! Watching the sunset from the sky tent is truly special! Experience glamping in a one-of-a-kind space where you can hear the sound of the waves!
Upon arrival, we parked our car in the parking lot and headed to the front desk. Check-in times vary depending on the plan. Luggage storage is available from 2:00 PM, and the final check-in is at 6:30 PM. They provide rental items for you to enjoy in your room. For dinner, you can have a BBQ in your room or dine at the on-site restaurant. We opted for a BBQ dinner with breakfast included in our reservation.
The Sky Dome "Sky Tent & Cruiser" can accommodate 2 to 5 people. The dome includes mattresses, sofa beds, lighting, rugs, fans, bedding, extension cords, chairs, a Weber BBQ, dining table, chairs, and a tarp tent. The cruiser includes air conditioning, a table, chairs, a double bed, a refrigerator, audio-visual equipment, and amenities such as towels and toothbrushes.
Next to the tent site, there are separate shower rooms and toilets for men and women. It's important to note that despite the luxurious image of glamping, the essence is still camping. You are expected to enjoy nature in a somewhat rustic setting. Quiet time starts at 10:00 PM, and outdoor lights are turned off.
You can purchase soft drinks, alcoholic beverages, snacks, and sweets at the front desk. After checking in, you can pick up dishes and ingredients at the central kitchen. For dinner, we had a beachside BBQ dinner. The staff helped us with setting up the charcoal and table. The menu included a variety of items such as vegetables, abalone, beef loin, back ribs, chicken smoke, sausages, sea snails, skewered vegetables, seafood bouillabaisse, and brioche.
You can bring your own drinks, so we brought some champagne. The staff even offered us a complimentary glass of hot wine. Ice and cups are available for free at the management building, and you can rent a cooler box with ice for 500 yen. Despite the slightly cloudy weather, having a BBQ by the beach was a delightful experience.
After dinner, we cleaned up and returned the dishes. It's recommended to use the simple showers early, as they are not available after lights out at 10:00 PM. It was a unique experience, and we enjoyed every moment of our glamping adventure.
