From Ohashi Station, a 3-minute walk towards Nisseki Street, I visited Masuya, a popular spot known for its vegetable skewers. The restaurant always seems busy from the outside, with customers enjoying the healthy and delicious dishes made with plenty of fresh vegetables. I stopped by as a second stop and was impressed by the traditional Japanese atmosphere inside, resembling a ryokan with warm lighting and wooden tables. We didn't order much due to it being our second stop, but I'll share the dishes we tried. The lettuce rolls for ¥250 were a hit, using a third of a lettuce head for a crunchy and healthy snack that is visually appealing and popular among women. Limited to 9 rolls per day, so it's best to visit early. The green onion rolls for ¥200 were also popular, with a light and refreshing flavor that stands out. I also impulsively ordered the premium wagyu steak for ¥1,880, which I somewhat regretted as it's not a steakhouse. Overall, it was a good experience.

I wanted to eat yakitori, so I went to a second restaurant. It is located along the main street in front of Ohashi Station, and there were quite a few customers. Maybe there are many regulars? The taste was decent, but the service was quite slow. The staff were friendly, so I left feeling satisfied. Thank you for the meal!

Limited edition lettuce rolls are delicious. The chicken sashimi was also well received by my friends.

On Saturday night, I visited a yakitori restaurant called "Yakitori Masuya" with my friend H who wanted to try it out. When we arrived around 9:30 pm, there were only a few customers, about 2 groups. We sat at a table and started with a bottle of "Satsuma Mokuri" for 2000 yen to get into the mood. We tried various items such as sesame cucumber, wiener, pork belly, chicken thighs, chicken skin with sauce, thick tofu, gizzard, and asparagus rolls. Everything was delicious and cooked perfectly. The cost performance was decent and the restroom was clean and well-maintained. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

Sorry~ I took a long break from posting reviews (^^; It's the end of December now, and this review is from June... quite unexpected. Looking at the piled up photos, it feels like a hassle to write reviews. Anyway, this is a yakitori restaurant in Ohashi. I heard good things about it, so I made a reservation and went. The menu is decent, but not particularly cheap. There are quite a few creative dishes, which come at a higher price. Only 4 items are priced at 80 yen. The rest are in the 180 yen range, and some in the 250 yen range. We ordered various items and ended with grilled rice balls, which were quite filling. The downside is the long wait for the food to be served. It takes time to grill, and you have to wait for the ordered items to be cooked on the grill... If you don't order a lot at the beginning, it feels like the food won't come out. When we arrived later, the restaurant was almost full and the service was quite slow. It's a popular spot for families, typical of Ohashi! It's a good place for those who may feel hesitant to go to a yakitori restaurant with kids. There are raised floor seats. The location is great, right in front of Ohashi Station! It's a convenient spot at the intersection. (Parking is available at nearby coin parking lots)

I don't usually go to the east side, but I went to a bar on that side for the first time. It felt fresh. The location is a 3-minute walk from Ohashi Station East Exit. If you walk towards Nisseki Street from the east exit, you'll find it. I went there around 9 pm on a Sunday, and it was quite crowded. It must be popular, I thought as I took my seat. I was surprised to see Negi Maki (green onion roll) and Lettuce Maki (lettuce roll) on the menu with big pictures. I had to try them, so I ordered the Negi Maki since the Lettuce Maki was sold out. It was delicious. The green onion was rolled around nicely. The taste is a bit addictive, but it may not be for everyone as the flavor of the green onion stands out. I personally really liked it. The other dishes were also tasty. The impact of the green onion was strong, so it's good for casual drinking. The interior was clean and spacious, suitable for company parties. There seems to be a main store nearby, so I should visit there next time.

I heard that you can eat bird sashimi for ¥400, so I called right away. However, both the main store and the second store were full. Well, it's December 30th, so it's understandable that it's crowded... After wandering around the Ohashi area for about an hour, I finally found a seat. The second store I visited was small, but they had several private rooms. However, the walls were thin and flimsy (laughs). There were two things that didn't sit well with me this time. The first is the bird sashimi itself. The gizzard was indeed raw, but the rest of the meat was unexpectedly steamed chicken. Moreover, more than 2/3 of it was steamed chicken... It was dry and definitely not bird sashimi. The second issue was the beer. I ordered Asahi Super Dry Extra Cold, a beer chilled below freezing, but what came out was just regular Super Dry. The foam was not crispy, and the beer seemed warm. To make matters worse, the glass was not cold either. I will not be visiting again.

I entered the restaurant around 9 pm. It was crowded on a Friday night. I ordered the lettuce-wrapped and scallion-wrapped skewers that I had been curious about online. The name "Masuya" made me think of a sake masu (wooden box). I like sake, so I mistakenly thought they would have a wide selection. The sake selection was decent, which was good. The scallion-wrapped skewers were delicious with a strong scallion flavor. Scallions have been expensive lately, so it felt luxurious. The lettuce-wrapped skewers were a bit watery and just okay for me. The horse sashimi was delicious, but the portion was small, which was disappointing. Overall, I think it's a good place for casual dining, so I will go back to try the scallion-wrapped skewers again. By the way, I heard there is another main branch of Masuya in Ohashi.

When you exit the east exit of Nishitetsu Ohashi Station, go past the bus rotary and head towards Nisseki-dori. Across from Nisseki-dori, on the right side of the row of bowling alleys, you will find a yakitori restaurant. It seems relatively new and clean, with a welcoming atmosphere for women as well. The interior has counter seats, table seats, and tatami seats, and it's quite spacious. Although it's a yakitori restaurant, the side dishes are quite extensive, giving it more of an izakaya feel. It's also open late, which is convenient. I enjoyed sitting at the counter, having some yakitori and drinks alone, and found the atmosphere very pleasant. I will definitely visit again.

The place is located along the street with a bowling alley and Jolly Pasta, just across the national highway from Ohashi Station East Exit. It's about a 5-minute walk from the station. The menu is similar to the main branch, and the taste is equally delicious. Even my work colleagues who I brought here for the first time couldn't help but say "Delicious" when they took a bite of the pork belly. I think it's a true sign of how tasty the food is when it involuntarily comes out of your mouth. They also have lettuce wraps and onion wraps. The recommended skewer assortment by the manager is a safe choice for first-timers. The salad with grated yam and watercress was also delicious, with the unusual touch of stir-frying the yam. The sand lizard and potato salad that came as a complimentary appetizer were also good. There seemed to be a lot of female customers, maybe because of the manager's charm or just a coincidence. This makes it a place where even women can feel comfortable dining at a skewer restaurant. The difference from the main branch is the few raised tatami seating areas that are sectioned off with a dugout table. It's nice to be able to enjoy a meal while having a conversation without worrying about the next table. Naturally, I would love to go back again.

The yakitori restaurant that used to be in Yakuin and Ohashi has closed its Yakuin location and opened a second store in Ohashi. Masuya is known for their vegetable wraps, which are really delicious. The Ohashi store not only offers yakitori but also has a variety of other menu items. They have introduced new menu items as well. It seems like they have successfully differentiated themselves from the main store in Ohashi. I always make sure to order the lettuce wrap, spring onion wrap, and eringi mushroom wrap when I visit. Especially the lettuce wrap, which is limited to 9 per day, so it's best to go early. The crunchy lettuce wrapped tightly with pork belly on a skewer is a unique texture experience. When you visit Ohashi, I highly recommend this restaurant!
