I went to "Takotai" in Yodoyabashi. I chose this place because I was on a business trip in Osaka and wanted to eat takoyaki. In addition to takoyaki, I also enjoyed sashimi and karaage made with octopus. Takoyaki and beer were the perfect combination.

I arrived at 7:00 PM on a regular night. I sat alone at the counter and ordered takoyaki with sauce and green onion salt, along with a draft beer. The outside wasn't crispy enough. The inside was fluffy. The octopus pieces were small. Could it be due to the increase in prices? I wouldn't mind paying more if they made the octopus pieces bigger.

At Yodoyabashi, there is a takoyaki shop that is bustling even at 10 PM with customers coming in one after another. They offer a drink-all-you-can course with takoyaki, highball, and snacks for 1100 yen. The variety of toppings for the takoyaki makes you want to order more. It's a great spot for tired office workers in Yodoyabashi and Hommachi.

This was the first restaurant I visited during my trip to Osaka. They had a variety of takoyaki dishes, including takoyaki with octopus. In addition to various octopus dishes, they also offered a wide range of izakaya menu items. My friend and I ordered as much as we wanted and drank freely, but the total came to about 4,000 yen, which was quite reasonable. I would definitely like to visit this restaurant again in the future.

I walked around the town of Osaka and as it was getting late, I started craving takoyaki. I happened to spot a takoyaki shop, so I went in. It's nice that you can find takoyaki shops just by walking around in Osaka. I sat at the counter and ordered a chu-hi, starting with the classic "sauce" flavor. Osaka takoyaki has that fluffy texture that I love. In Tokyo, the standard is crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside, but I think the soft and melty texture of takoyaki is what makes it great. Next, I tried the "spicy miso mayonnaise" flavor. There are a variety of unique flavors to try, so I thought I'd go for something I haven't had before. Miso and mayonnaise can't go wrong, and it turned out to be a taste that worked well with takoyaki. It's a great option as a snack. Personally, I prefer takoyaki a bit softer, but I was still satisfied. The prices are a bit on the higher side since it's an izakaya. It's interesting to see how takoyaki has changed over the years, but I'll stop before I start sounding like a takoyaki old-timers' club.

I had been passing by the front of this restaurant for a while. I was aiming to enjoy "takoyaki" and "beer" someday. And finally, that day arrived. They offer all-you-can-drink for 30 minutes at 580 yen, and for 60 minutes at 980 yen for men, 780 yen for women. I planned to eat and drink quickly and then go home, so I ordered normally. By the way, it seems that if you choose all-you-can-drink, you will be seated on the second floor. I ordered drinks and takoyaki and waited. First, the "bouzu" (plain) takoyaki arrived. When I tried it, the outside was crispy and the inside was fluffy. The simplicity of the flavor really shows the skill of the restaurant. It's delicious in a nice way. Next, the "negi shio" takoyaki arrived. This is also recommended by the restaurant. The balance of the flavor of the leeks and salt is good. Alcohol goes well with it. Lastly, the "karami miso" takoyaki arrived. The "karami miso" was served separately from the "bouzu" takoyaki. This spicy miso really stimulates the appetite. It's a taste that goes well with sake. It's dangerously spicy. If I keep eating it, I won't be able to stop, so I had to force myself to stop. This time I tried three varieties, but next time I want to try something different. By the way, this restaurant not only has a branch here but also in Gofukumachi. Let's go there if we have the chance.

There are several chain takoyaki izakayas in Osaka. The first floor has a regular sit-down, order individually izakaya style, while the second floor is self-service all-you-can-drink. You can pour your own drinks style, with options for 60, 90, or 120 minutes, each with different prices. Even if you choose 90 minutes, it doesn't mean you have to leave right away. You can pour yourself a full glass of sake at the end and continue to sit without any issues. So, we stayed beyond 90 minutes, ordered more takoyaki, and had a great time. The takoyaki itself comes in two styles - crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. This place serves the fluffy kind with a creamy center, piping hot! Freshly made takoyaki is delicious (^o^). I haven't tried all the famous takoyaki places, but I felt that this one was a bit tastier than others. Maybe it's the cooking oil or the texture of the batter, but the flavor is great. It made me quite happy♪ The downside is that the chairs are hard round stools, so the seating is not very comfortable. Also, the tables are close together, so it can get crowded.

It was a shop that strictly adhered to time. We had some members join us later, so we decided to order individual items. However, even though we still had food left, we were urged to leave after 90 minutes, as it was the last order. It was a bit strange because we had plenty of space at our table and were not taking advantage of any all-you-can-drink deals. It seemed like the restaurant had a strict 120-minute time limit for customers, even if there were no other customers waiting. It didn't feel very welcoming as a customer. The upstairs area seemed to prioritize all-you-can-drink customers, as many people were heading up there. The takoyaki was delicious. There were a variety of options, so I wish we could have stayed longer to try a few more varieties.

Visited with a friend from college and had some takoyaki and a light drink. We stayed for 2 hours and 30 minutes, so we might have overstayed a bit. Overall, it was a good restaurant.

There is a wide variety of takoyaki options available. The menu offers more than just takoyaki. It's a great choice for visitors from other prefectures. The cost performance is excellent. There are different options for all-you-can-drink and single items. The staff is friendly. Smoking is allowed.
The takoyaki had a good amount of octopus in it. The broth was light and this time I got the salt flavor for takeout. I wish the yakisoba noodles had a chewier texture. I couldn't order alcohol because I was on my way to work, but I'd like to relax and spend some time inside the restaurant. Also, I want to try the classic sauce flavor next time!
