To heal the fatigue of the year, I went on an overnight hot spring trip at the end of the year. It was my first time at Mori no Soraniwa in Kitayuzawa. This place is popular among families with children because there is an indoor play area for kids. When it comes to hot springs, one of the highlights is the food. We had a buffet-style meal with all-you-can-drink included, so we enjoyed eating and drinking to our heart's content. The buffet had a wide variety of dishes, with four types of soups alone, and each dish was delicious enough to stand alone as a single dish. There were live cooking stations where you could enjoy freshly made sushi, tempura, steak, and more. For dinner, I focused on sushi, mushroom tempura, sashimi, venison stew, and other dishes that would go well with alcohol. The selection of drinks for the all-you-can-drink option was also extensive, including beer, sparkling wine, highballs, plum wine sours, and more. The desserts were also delicious. For breakfast, I had three types of grilled fish, freshly grilled sausages & bacon, menchi katsu, white fish fry, braised pork, nori tempura, plum tempura, and a mountain of white rice. I also tried the live cooking station's tuna, salmon, and avocado bowl. And of course, I indulged in desserts, including freshly made crepes. The buffet also had a kids' food corner and a play area, making it very family-friendly. The food here is just as good as the famous accommodations in Hokkaido, if not better. It's a great place where adults can enjoy the food and kids can have fun at the same time.
