We decided to visit Boteyu for okonomiyaki in Namba, as we have always done in the past. We went with four people on a weekday for lunch. Despite having reservations for a group, we were seated promptly and ordered beer and butatama. The okonomiyaki was served hot on the grill, and all we had to do was add sauce and bonito flakes. The texture was perfect, and it was the best okonomiyaki we've had.

I tried okonomiyaki with oil lees for the first time and it was amazing. I was tired from walking in the heat, so it was nice to eat in the cool, air-conditioned restaurant. The cream soda tasted even better. I will definitely come back.

It was the night of the third day of the long weekend, but surprisingly we were able to get in smoothly. The second floor was quiet and relaxing. The teppanyaki grill can get hot, but the air conditioning was effective. The taste was okay, but being able to eat Osaka-style okonomiyaki gave us the feeling of being in Osaka! We had a good night.

The place I wanted to go was closed and it was raining, so I was hungry and decided to go into a restaurant with a sign out front. The staff were foreigners and kept saying "please go upstairs" to everyone coming in, I wonder why? We were on a trip and had our luggage with us, so they probably noticed and told us to sit on the first floor. It was a bit of a mystery! The food they made was good, but not exceptionally delicious. It was like a typical okonomiyaki.

There were no customers at 6pm on a regular day. I was seated on the second floor next to a pile of cardboard, which was a bit concerning. I ordered a draft beer, but it had a strange smell. It seemed like the server hadn't cleaned it properly. Unfortunately, I left it. I ordered the popular pork special, but it was powdery. It was disappointing. By the time I left, the restaurant was full.

When it comes to traditional Osaka-style okonomiyaki restaurants, "Osaka Botedju" is a well-known establishment. Although there are many Botedju branches nationwide, this particular one has only two locations in Osaka. We went as a group, and the okonomiyaki was already cooked and served piping hot, topped generously with sauce and mayonnaise. It was truly authentic and delicious, and we were grateful for the warmth and kindness of the Osaka locals.

We were a group of about 30 people, but the food just wouldn't come out. In the end, we had yakisoba, but it took over 30 minutes for it to be served to the last table. If they can't handle serving dishes on time due to operational issues, they shouldn't take on such large groups in the first place. On top of that, they got our orders wrong and the explanation of the set drinks was unclear. The service was rude and terrible. The food itself was also disappointing. It was a stressful experience and a waste of a night in Osaka. I don't see any reason to choose this place intentionally.

I waited for about 30 minutes to get in on a Saturday night. I visited this place for a pilgrimage to a certain idol's holy site. I wanted to eat the same menu, so I ordered the pork modern. The okonomiyaki inside had a unique sweet sauce flavor that was delicious. If you want to eat amazing okonomiyaki, I think it's better to go to a different restaurant. However, this chain restaurant has a friendly atmosphere and consistently good taste, so I consider it a reliable place to come to. I don't think it's worth visiting for sightseeing (there are many Botejyu restaurants in Tokyo too).

There was a day when I wanted to eat delicious okonomiyaki. The restaurant I chose tonight was "Botecyu Honten" in Namba, not far from the station. Every meal in life starts with excitement. Let's go! Everything is good at the main store. It's lively and the staff is efficient. I will visit again.

Osaka Botegyu in Namba, Osaka. By the way, this is not related to the common chain store Dotombori Botegyu. The okonomiyaki here is not delicious at all because there is too much flour. The delicious items were the yakisoba and pork belly. The pork belly is cooked by the customer in a yakiniku style. As for the okonomiyaki, you have to apply the sauce yourself, but it's hard to tell which one is recommended. It's a shame that I ended up at a place where the okonomiyaki was not delicious after a long time. The staff only tell you the name of the products. It's a waste considering the location.

I have passed by a few times before, but this was my first time visiting. There are so many types of sauces... The interior of the restaurant is honestly not very clean, and I wonder if this is what the famous "botedju" is like... The pork and egg omelette is just a normal omelette wrapped in pork... It seems like it would become a tonpei-yaki if grated yam was added. The bacon and eggs... this also feels like something you could make at home. The yakisoba had beef in a sukiyaki style? It's completely burnt and the noodles lack the chewy texture you'd expect. I switched to a lemon sour and finished with the pork and egg dish. It looks thick and nice, but the dough lacks flavor and is just okay... I found out after researching that there are actually two large groups that go by the name "botedju" as okonomiyaki restaurants... Aside from that, there are a few individually owned shops as well... I wasn't deceived, but it's definitely true that everything tastes better at home (laughs). I won't be coming back here... Thanks for the meal~ ヾ( ´ー`)ノ

Lunch at Osaka Botedju Main Store today, as always, it's okonomiyaki. When it comes to fierce competition for okonomiyaki, it's definitely the Minami area. When it comes to Osaka sightseeing, you go to Minami, and if you're going to eat, you go for okonomiyaki, so it's no wonder there are so many okonomiyaki restaurants. On this day, we had a lunch drink at "Osaka Botedju" right near Namba Station. Established in 1953, this long-standing store is often mistaken for the chain store "Botedju," but it's actually a completely different shop. The two-story interior has a lot of seats, with booths lined up. It's a nice feeling to sit back and relax. Special Butatama (pork and egg) for 1210 yen - Not your regular butatama, this is a special dish from Botedju. Thick pork loin and mustard sandwiched inside with an egg on top. The dense batter is packed with ingredients and thick, providing a satisfying bite. The crispy cabbage is cooked using the "50°C washing cooking method" to bring out the umami, giving it a subtle but noticeable presence. It's a low-temperature cooking method, taking an extra step. Enjoy comparing the four sauces: sweet, special, spicy, and spicy. Special Potato Cheese Tamago for 1155 yen - A hearty dish with mentaiko sauce, potatoes, and cheese. It's a unique dish, but it's delicious in its own way. The fluffy potatoes go well with the okonomiyaki! Hormone Kimchi Soba for 1045 yen - A slightly spicy yakisoba with kimchi. The style here is to dip it in beaten egg before eating. We had a fun lunch drink!

In December of the 2nd year of Reiwa, the lunch special is okonomiyaki set meal which includes okonomiyaki, oyakodon, miso soup, and iced coffee for 978 yen including tax. Both okonomiyaki and donburi are delicious. It is a great place to enjoy tasty okonomiyaki in the heart of Osaka, Namba, even for tourists.

I used to travel to various places for business trips, but now it has decreased to about once a month. It's been a while since I've been in Osaka. I had a little time, so I decided to have some okonomiyaki. I thought about getting the classic pork and cabbage one, but since I was here, I went for the one with mentaiko (spicy cod roe) and potato. The okonomiyaki had mentaiko sauce on top and inside there were potatoes. The mentaiko sauce was a bit cold, so I think it would be better if it was warm. But it was delicious!

The town was already starting to feel lonely. The inside of the shop is quiet. Boteju has been famous for a long time, but have you been there before? You must have been there! But it's been so long that I can't remember for sure (^-^; It's a standard dish, but I like the pork okonomiyaki! It's a neatly shaped okonomiyaki! It's so well-formed that you might doubt if it's frozen food! There are various condiments on the table. This time, we also tried other teppanyaki dishes! Thank you for the meal (^_^)/

I couldn't feel settled without eating something with a flour base and sauce flavor, so I went to the Boteyuju Honten in Namba for a meeting. And now, I'm writing this at the Midosuji Hotel @ Natural Hot Spring Boteyuju. In other words, the hotel is attached to the restaurant! Unfortunately, the food wasn't that delicious. Maybe I'm not good at eating. I didn't sprinkle any seaweed, ignored the ketchup on the okonomiyaki, and ate it with sweet sauce and mayonnaise. But honestly, okonomiyaki places in Tokyo are better. I also ordered yakisoba, and it came with a raw egg. I was wearing headphones and not listening to the staff, so I didn't know if I should pour the egg over the noodles or dip the noodles in it. I decided to dip the noodles in the egg to avoid dirtying the teppan, but it didn't make it taste any better.

Hmm, it wasn't really to my liking. It wasn't incredibly delicious and didn't have any standout characteristics. The sauce was also... and the dessert, kuzumochi, had lumps in it. The staff were energetic, or maybe a bit loud. Well, maybe Osaka just isn't my cup of tea.

After a long time, my colleagues who joined the company at the same time as me got together again. We drank sake and whiskey and were in a good mood. We ordered a round of draft beer and left the choice of grilled items to our colleague. "Since it's the season for oysters, let's have the Kakioko." Honestly, I haven't been eating oysters lately. I saw it on a TV show and tried the oyster okonomiyaki at a restaurant in Niigata that week. Since then, I haven't had oysters. I like the sauce with oysters, so I don't think I won't eat it, but I haven't had it since I got sick once. The okonomiyaki here has a thin base of wheat flour like Hiroshima-style. The difference is that the cabbage is cut thicker. This is all I remember, honestly, I was too drunk to remember the taste. I need to revisit when I'm sober...

I visited the original store of Botedjuu in Osaka while on my way back from visiting relatives. I wanted to try something Osaka-like in the city, so I found this place during my stroll. As it is the original store of a long-established restaurant, my expectations were high. I ordered the Negiyaki with shrimp and pork. The aroma rising from the dish was so appetizing! When I cut into it with a spatula, it was fluffy and perfectly cooked, looking absolutely delicious. It was incredibly tasty, and it went well with beer. As I kept eating, I realized that there was no shrimp in it. It seems like there was a misunderstanding with my order, and I actually received the Negiyaki with pork only. It was disappointing not to have the shrimp and pork combination. By the time I noticed, I had already eaten almost half of it, so I decided not to ask for a replacement and enjoyed what I had. I will definitely come back for a rematch. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the long-established okonomiyaki restaurant Botedju after a long time. Although both the tonpei and yakisoba were recommended, I chose the Special Butatama for 1100 yen today. It was special because it had a large amount of pork and was thick. At Botedju, there are different types of sauce available, so you can blend it to your liking. Unlike the fluffy okonomiyaki that is popular now, this one is a solid type.
