My favorite Italian restaurant in the downtown area of Kyoto. It is located along Takatsujidori in Shimogyo Ward. It's hard to get a table without a reservation, so even though I like it a lot, I can't go there often. Recently, a similar favorite restaurant has opened in Takatsuki City (Il Campo), so I have been going there more often. The pasta + salad combination costs 1000 yen, while the pasta + assorted appetizers costs 1800 yen. The lunch set with a main dish costs 3300 yen. The restaurant is small, with only 7 two-person tables. It has been selected as a prestigious restaurant and even received a Bib Gourmand, so it's truly a "narrow gate". The atmosphere is stylish, but the space is a bit cramped, so I rated it 3.5. The female staff's service is pleasant, and the prices are reasonable. The taste is excellent. The only drawbacks are the difficulty in getting a reservation and the cramped seating. I managed to get a reservation after 3 years. I chose the 1800 yen set. The pasta was a ragu (meat sauce). I really like the ragu here. It goes very well with the wide noodles. It has a slightly strong salty taste, but when eaten with just the minced meat, it's not too spicy. It's interesting. The leftover minced meat is delicious when eaten on top of bread, as the sweetness of the wheat in the bread enhances the flavor. Although I ate the dishes in the wrong order, the liver pate among the appetizers had just the right amount of bitterness, which transformed into umami, making it very good. The pancetta and lentils were also exquisite. It had been a while, but it was still a great restaurant. Thank you for the meal.

On September 25, 2023, a couple who loves Italian food went to dinner at a restaurant recommended by a senior colleague who also enjoys Italian cuisine. Despite being a popular restaurant and somewhat crowded, the Italian food was disappointing. The wine served in decanters was weak and seemed oxidized. The main dish, pork, tasted like frozen, imported meat with an unpleasant smell and a dry texture. The homemade pasta was also mediocre, lacking creativity and tasting like something you could easily make at home. Although some people may enjoy this type of food, there are many more delicious Italian restaurants in Kyoto. The service provided by the staff was rushed and resembled that of a casual izakaya chain. It was a very disappointing evening.

This wonderful dining experience was a luxurious moment where sophisticated dishes and exquisite wines harmonized perfectly. The dessert that first appeared was the "Panna Cotta". I was mesmerized by its silky smoothness as I brought the spoon to my mouth. The sweetness of the vanilla spread in my mouth, heightening my expectations for the dessert. The appetizer platter presented a colorful array of deliciousness. Fresh vegetables, cheese, and salami were beautifully arranged in perfect balance, showcasing the chef's sense of taste. In particular, the creaminess of the cheese and the spiciness of the salami stimulated my taste buds. And then, the star of the show arrived - "Ikeda beef fillet tagliata". The meat was perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside, and tender enough to overflow with juiciness on the inside, its flavor was overwhelming. The herbs and balsamic sauce served on top of the meat added depth to the taste, it was truly exquisite. Finally, an essential part of the meal is the "red wine". Its rich color and flavors of blackberry and spices further enhanced the compatibility with the dishes. The acidity of the wine complemented the umami of the meat, creating a harmonious experience throughout the meal. This dining experience, where the marriage of food and wine was perfectly achieved, captivated the hearts of food lovers. Starting from the Panna Cotta, to the appetizer platter, Ikeda beef fillet tagliata, and the red wine, the sequence of combinations provided the pinnacle of refined flavors, creating an unforgettable dining moment.

We made a same-day reservation and were told that the early time slots were fully booked, but we could come at 1 pm. We ordered the PRANZO B set (assorted appetizers + pasta) for 2,000 yen, and each ordered a pasta dish - one with mushroom paste cream sauce and the other with homemade sausage and ricotta cheese. The assorted appetizers were so luxurious that we couldn't help but exclaim in amazement when they arrived! Liver paste, glazed carrots, sweet potatoes, roasted pumpkin, marinated mushrooms, potato and tuna salad with barley, all of them were so meticulously prepared and full of exciting flavors. Each dish made us wonder what spices were used and how they were seasoned. It was a delight to enjoy such high-quality dishes as part of the appetizer set. As for the pasta, I had the homemade sausage and ricotta cheese dish, and I was impressed by the delicious combination of flavors. The meaty texture of the sausage was incredibly tasty, and the ricotta cheese was rich yet refreshing. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente, and I savored every bite, even dipping the bread into the sauce at the end. I also tried a bite of the pasta with mushroom paste cream sauce, and the aroma of the mushrooms was amazing, and the cream sauce was delicious. The coffee after the meal was freshly ground and brewed, and it was a perfect ending to a wonderful meal.

It's a revisit. I visited after a long time. Last time I could drink alcohol freely, but yesterday I went with someone who couldn't drink due to a doctor's recommendation. There were few non-alcoholic options, so I had a lemon soda. It wasn't too sweet and was refreshing to drink. The photos are of the appetizer platter, mushroom salad, ragu pasta, and grilled chicken. Everything was incredibly delicious. Thank you for the meal. I will visit again.

Thursday 12:30 Trattoria Leone, with about 7 two-seater tables. Finally visited as I had been wanting to. After finishing work before the Obon holiday, I went straight there. I had made a reservation in advance. The available seats were quickly filled by walk-in customers. Lunch set C for 3,500 yen included: - Assorted appetizers - Tuscan-style pasta ragu - Braised pork spare ribs 12:42 The appetizers were quite elaborate and colorful. The lineup was luxurious and well thought out. The pate and vegetables were delicious. A perfect match for alcohol. 13:06 The pasta had a generous amount of sauce, with a moderate portion of pasta (not sure if this was because of set C). The flavor was excellent and very tasty. 13:17 The spare ribs had excellent bone separation and the meat was surprisingly tender. The combination with green beans was great, making it a delicious main dish. The bread was slightly dry and absorbed the sauce well. I would like to come back for dinner as well. Thank you for the meal.

Leone took me to this small and cozy restaurant in Kyoto, where reservations are a must. Everything we tried was absolutely delicious. The assorted appetizers were carefully prepared with gentle flavors that were amazing. My favorite dish was the sautéed chickpeas and squid, which I could eat every day. The gnocchi, tartare, pork steak, and wine were all excellent as well. I definitely want to go back again. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I used it for Saturday lunch. Even though I called the day before or on the day, I couldn't come because it was always full, but I was able to make a reservation by calling a week in advance. There are three different set options for lunch with different volumes. The appetizer is served on a plate with a variety of items. You can choose from pasta and main dishes. The Taliaata was delicious, but the pork was delicious! I will come again!

Amazing Tuscan Italian cuisine. The Cartiella pasta and the main dish, Ripieni, were especially outstanding. The wine selection was great, with all options being good. I was happy to see my favorite Lambrusco on the menu. The Tiramisu was decently delicious, although not mind-blowing. Around 11,000 yen for two people.

Located a little off the beaten path from Shijo Kawaramachi, this stylish and delicious Italian restaurant offers a great variety of appetizers on one plate with good value. The roast beef was thick and satisfyingly delicious. The pasta, made with thick noodles, had a trendy flavor.

Around 12 pm on Monday, I decided to stop by a restaurant. Surprisingly, I was able to get a seat at the farthest table, perhaps because it was a weekday during Golden Week. The recommended pasta of the day was a whitebait and mushroom oil pasta, so I ordered the Pranzo A set with a salad combo. The salad had a nice balsamic vinegar flavor, and the pasta was delicious with high-quality olive oil. The pair of women sitting next to me ordered an appetizer platter that looked really tasty. Maybe I should have ordered the Pranzo B set after all. The menu seemed a bit more expensive overall, but maybe it was because it used to be too cheap.

I ordered the appetizer assortment and pasta at B based on reviews, but the prices have gone up even more, now 2000 yen. It seems like everywhere is raising prices. The appetizers were luxurious and the pasta was delicious, but I found it to be lacking in portion size. The staff seemed to be handling everything alone, including customer service.

For the meal, I chose an appetizer, pasta, and a main dish. On Saturday, my wife and I went out for lunch at an Italian restaurant. The place was small but had an authentic feel to it. We ordered the pasta lunch for 1200 yen and the main dish for 3300 yen. The appetizer platter was surprisingly generous, with homemade pate, chicken, and chickpea stew. The pasta dishes, one with porcini cream sauce and the other with tomato sauce, were both delicious. The porcini had a nice aroma and flavor, while even as someone who doesn't like tomatoes, I found the tomato pasta very tasty. The pasta was cooked perfectly and had a great texture. The only disappointment was the ordinary tasting cutlet as the main dish. I heard that the fettuccine with ragu sauce is a specialty, so I plan on going back soon. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

A belated birthday dinner two months late. The appetizer platter, veal shank and vegetable rice soup (today's MVP!), wide pasta "Pappardelle" with wild boar red wine stew, lamb cutlets with chickpea paste, and for dessert, almond-flavored rice torta (unusual sweet treat!) and chocolate and pistachio terrine. Tuscany is a kingdom of meat. If you want meat dishes in Kyoto, Leone is the place to go. It was incredibly delicious today too!

The restaurant has a very calm atmosphere, making it easy for people of all ages and genders to enter. The service was speedy and smooth, and I enjoyed the dressing on the salad. I visited this place a short walk from Gojo Station. I ordered "Penne with tomato sauce" and "Spaghetti aglio e olio". The dishes were served in about 15 minutes. The sauces for both pastas were very elaborate and had a taste that cannot be replicated at home.

It is a restaurant that is difficult to make reservations at. Each dish evokes the feeling of Tuscany. The red wine from Tuscany, mainly made from Sangiovese grapes, goes well with the dishes. I visited Trattoria Leone on Christmas Eve. It had a casual atmosphere as expected from a trattoria. It was fully booked with reservations, and they only offered à la carte menu. The food was delicious, with a pasta dish using duck meat being a standout. The staff were not particularly friendly, but it didn't bother me much. The best part was the dessert, a meringue shortcake that was really tasty.

I visited a bit late, around 1 pm. The tagliatelle with ragu was sold out, so I opted for the country-style pasta instead. It had tuna, boiled egg, and tomato sauce. It was very delicious, just as I imagined. Easy to eat and everyone's favorite. The tiramisu was the authentic type, soaked in espresso syrup. Eating it with the side of vanilla ice cream created a perfect balance. The space had a great sense of style and I left feeling very satisfied. Thank you for the meal!
