Even after picking them up, I wandered around Kyoto before going home. They are a specialty product of Demachi Futaba. The mochi made with Shiga Prefecture's "Hinomai mochi rice" stretches beautifully when you chew it, giving it a lovely texture. Located right next to Kyoto Station in Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture, this shop of Futaba in Demachiyanagi, which is underground of Isetan adjacent to Kyoto Station, caught my eye. I'm not sure if it has always been there, but I found it and decided to buy some bracken rice cakes. Since they do not use preservatives, I knew I had to eat them soon, so I sat on a bench and enjoyed them. The smooth taste of the fresh bracken rice cakes was delightful. They also appear at kiosks in the area with various restrictions on days and times, so you might have a chance to buy them.
