Today, I visited Tonkatsu Narita for dinner with my daughter and son-in-law. I had the Katsudon, while my daughter-in-law had the Pork and Shrimp Set Meal. The Katsudon was delicious with just the right amount of sweetness and flavor. They have added a new touch screen ordering system and serving robots since my last visit, which I think the kids will enjoy.

Had lunch at this tonkatsu restaurant along Route 4 in Ishikari. It had been a while since my last visit, and I was surprised to see that they had upgraded to a high-tech system with tablet ordering, self-service, and robot servers. The experience of having robots serve the food was surreal, but the meal was delicious.

After leaving the dentist, I was starving and headed to Tonkatsu Narita! I ordered the pork cutlet and cream croquette set. In about 10 minutes, it arrived - brought by a smart robot! The pork cutlet was crispy but a bit small, and the cream croquettes were delicious but only came in a pair. However, the rice, miso soup, and cabbage were all free for refills, which I gladly took advantage of. I had two servings of rice, three servings of cabbage, and four servings of miso soup. Each time I asked for a refill, the staff kindly accommodated me without any judgment. The service was great, the restaurant was clean, and the meal was satisfying. I left feeling full and content. Later, I went home, took a nap, did some laundry, and went shopping. A nice day indeed!

On a certain weekday, I visited a tonkatsu specialty restaurant in Hanakawa Minami, Ishikari City, which I had not visited in a while. When I arrived, it was on time but it seemed like customers were changing regularly. From the menu, I ordered the "Hire and Rosu Gozen (1280 yen)" which is a mix of hire (fillet) and rosu (loin). The rosu was average in thickness and had a unique crispy texture, different from what you would find in a cafeteria, with some visible fat content. The hire was also small and tender, typical of fillet. The sauce was sweet and suitable for both the tonkatsu and the cabbage. The cabbage on the side was finely cut and dressed in an original dressing. The rice was of decent quality, and the miso soup with wakame and green onions was well-prepared, along with pre-packaged pickled Chinese cabbage. Payment was self-service, where you scan the bill to pay. Personally, I wish they had a lunch set menu. Thank you for the meal.

The snow has melted and turned into a river, flowing away. However, the snow removal team has to go out again today. But they are tired, fed up, and feeling lazy. So, they decided to go to Narita-san, where they had visited before, for a meal. The shrimp bowl was delicious, but they are known for their tonkatsu set meals. The ladies' set meal was also tasty, and even though she's not a lady anymore, she enjoyed it. Thank you for the delicious meal.

The restaurant had counter seating, tables, and tatami seating, providing space for individuals or families to dine. There seemed to be parking space for around 8 cars. This time, I ordered the cheese tonkatsu set. Since I love cheese, I decided to go for it. The rice was served quite quickly, probably because there were only me and one other group in the restaurant. However, I was disappointed with the cheese tonkatsu. As you can see in the photo, the cheese was overflowing and the tonkatsu looked like an onion ring. I regret not ordering a regular tonkatsu instead. I think I should go back and try their classic menu next time!

There are no particularly notable features, just a traditional tonkatsu specialty shop. They don't offer sesame seeds or multiple rice options, but you can get unlimited rice, miso soup, and cabbage. The sauce is average, but the dressing is a bit tasty. The cabbage is delicious. The miso soup and rice are neither good nor bad, and the side dishes are average. The main fried dish is simply delicious. Water is served, but tea is self-service. If I were to point out a feature, it would be that they offer a katsudon, which is uncommon for a tonkatsu specialty shop (originally a soba shop menu item). They also have other options like shrimp bowl, shrimp fillet bowl, katsu curry, etc., which is nice to have a variety of choices. Additionally, they offer a super affordable lunch menu for 550 yen, which is a must-try for local residents. Payment is cash only.

Today, I visited the graves of my parents and grandparents in Ishikari, and then visited my older brother's house in Hanakawa before having lunch with my eldest son. We went to a tonkatsu specialty restaurant called Narita, recommended by my son. My son had the pork cutlet set, I had the fillet cutlet set, and my father, who loves rice bowls, insisted on having a cutlet rice bowl. The food was delicious, but maybe not as amazing as my son and I were making it out to be. I prefer rice bowls, so I didn't really want to join in on the excitement about the cutlets. These days, I find myself just following my children's suggestions. Why did we have delicious cutlet rice bowls after visiting the graves? I couldn't think of a reason... Haha, if anyone has a good explanation, please let me know. Thank you for the meal.

I felt like having katsudon and visited a tonkatsu restaurant in Ishikari, a neighboring town of Sapporo. The menu was extensive and the prices were reasonable. I was set on having katsudon from the start, so I ordered without looking at the menu. It was delicious.

The cheese cutlet was extremely delicious! It would be even better if they had it on the lunch menu.

There is a tonkatsu restaurant that recently opened on Odori Avenue, past Ishikari Minami High School when heading from Sapporo City to Ishikari Minami. I later found out that it had moved about 2km east from its old location. The restaurant faces the main road and has a large parking lot, making it popular among families as a suburban-style establishment. I went there on a weekend afternoon and managed to get a seat at the counter just in time. The place started filling up quickly, and before I knew it, it was packed. I ordered the pork cutlet set meal, while my partner ordered the hirekatsu (pork fillet cutlet) and cream croquette set. The dishes arrived promptly, and more customers kept coming in. The shredded cabbage was neatly arranged and looked appetizing. I dipped my chopsticks in miso soup, starting with the cabbage. The sign said that rice, miso soup, and cabbage refills were free, so I eagerly indulged in them. The tonkatsu was tender and delicious, though I felt the slices were a bit thin. But considering the price and the fact that refills were available, it was understandable. The rice was served in a small bowl, perfect for finishing. I enjoyed the meal, and the hirekatsu and cream croquette were also tasty. The cream croquette had a creamy texture that coated the tongue nicely. I had a second helping of cabbage, and the generous portion was delightful. The staff kindly asked if I wanted more, which made me happy. I poured tonkatsu sauce over the cabbage and enjoyed it thoroughly. The atmosphere was lively, with families and even older couples enjoying their meals. It's important to appreciate the joy of good meat at any age. Despite not having tonkatsu in a while, I savored every bite and found it delicious. It was a great meal!

Basically, it's delicious. I think the basics are really difficult. The way it's fried, the batter, the meat - it seems simple but it's actually difficult. This place is truly delicious. There are no flaws in anything, it's a really tasty tonkatsu restaurant.

I visited the Michitda Michi no Eki for the first time and was disappointed by how cheap it was. On the way back, I decided to stop by. It was quite busy with almost all seats taken. The restaurant seems to be thriving. I had the pork cutlet curry, and my wife had the pork cutlet bowl.
