After a security check, if you have some free time to spare, why not enjoy some sushi? Order the regular set plus the recommended bincho maguro. It's a treat to be able to eat this at the airport! The quality of the maguro, the tenderness of the squid, and the freshness of the salmon. If there's a sushi restaurant at your destination airport, you could compare and enjoy it there too.

I have tried various types of sushi, but I truly believe that the sushi here is delicious. The freshness of the ingredients is top-notch, and the sushi rice is just right with a perfect balance of vinegar, texture, and tenderness. It is truly delicious. On this day, I had cherry salmon, flounder, scallop, and squid, along with a classic sake. The plastic cups were a bit disappointing, but due to the pandemic, this format seems to work well. In the end, I enjoyed the sushi while reminiscing about Hokkaido. While it may not be as fancy as the famous sushi restaurants in Susukino or Maruyama, it definitely holds its own in terms of deliciousness compared to conveyor belt sushi. This little moment of happiness feels like a treasure.

It is convenient when you want to eat sushi as the last meal. The restaurant area in front of the gate is very crowded, and nowhere to enter. However, this place is empty! Even if you pass through the gate early, this place will be the last stand for sushi. The set meals felt like a good deal.

If you're waiting for your departure at lunchtime, New Chitose Airport is crowded with tourists from both domestic and international flights during the post-COVID summer. The quality of the airport's restaurants is good, so I had planned to eat there before boarding. However, sometimes around noon, the seafood restaurants and sushi shops I was looking for are not available. In such cases, it's better to check in quickly and come to this restaurant. There are about 12 tables and a counter, but you are likely to be seated and served quickly. The prices and quality here are not much different from the restaurants outside the airport.

When traveling, I get excited about being able to drink Sapporo Classic at Suzuhana Gate store. It's convenient to eat quickly, especially when busy with children in the morning! The system for making online reservations in advance is also wonderful ⭐︎ I wonder if people visiting Hokkaido for a trip are finishing their meals here? Walking around Sapporo, you can feel the movement of people as inbound tourists return and domestic travelers increase. There are indeed many cars on the road when driving. *Please be very careful when driving. This place receives a high evaluation based on feelings (lol). I will visit again!

This is a shop located inside the gate after the security check at New Chitose Airport. They offer a variety of sushi set menus and bento menus, allowing you to enjoy sushi and sake even when you're short on time. This time, I tried the chirashi sushi. It had a variety of ingredients such as sea urchin, salmon roe, shrimp, tuna, salmon, squid, and shirako. The overall volume seemed a bit small for the price. It might be better to go for sushi or bento instead of chirashi. The taste was very delicious.

Inside the gate, you can feel like you are experiencing authentic sushi. You write your order on paper and it's a style where you pick sushi while waiting for your flight. It feels quite luxurious. Even though the boarding announcement started right in front of me, I didn't have time to savor and eat it, but it was a fun experience. They also have barcode payment, which is convenient.

After passing through the carry-on baggage inspection, there was a sushi restaurant where you could eat just before boarding. I didn't have high expectations due to the location, but the sushi was surprisingly well-made and delicious. The prices were reasonable and since it was located near the boarding gate, there weren't many customers, which was nice.

Mito-Nikko (2 nights 3 days) solo train trip Day 1 Part 2: New Chitose Airport, after security check at the boarding gate. Had a beer at "Cafe Green Tokachi" and headed to gate 6, only to find out that the flight was delayed by 1.5 hours. Oh no! Well, nothing I can do about it, so I decided to have another drink. Around 11:20 on a Tuesday, there were no customers at first, then 3 arrived, and 5 takeout customers. I was seated at a table for 2, alone. There was also a counter, but no chairs, so I assumed it was for stand-up sushi. I ordered the drink set - premium for 1980 yen, which included medium fatty tuna, amberjack, fresh salmon, mackerel, and shirako sushi, with a choice of one alcoholic drink. I exchanged the shirako for scallop. I'm not a fan of shirako, but I love scallops. I chose beer as my drink. They served it in a plastic cup. I prefer my beer in a glass or a mug, then a plastic cup, and lastly, in a can or bottle. The sushi rice had a hint of vinegar, the toppings were average, and the pickled ginger was spicy. The prices were reasonable, considering it was at an airport. I spent 30 minutes there and paid 1980 yen. After that, I had some time left. The gate was changed from 6 to 1. I found a seat with a power outlet and rearranged my transportation plans from Narita. I enjoy looking at timetables when planning. Peach flight MM572 from New Chitose Airport at 12:00, arriving at Narita Airport at 13:40, then departing at 15:30. While waiting, I thought about peculiar things. I've been flying Peach a lot lately. The flight code is MM, could it stand for peach (momo)? Turns out, it does! I had a little chuckle. We arrived at Narita 2 hours late. We had to take a bus from the plane to the arrival gate, and it was raining lightly. Luckily, I was near the entrance, so I got a seat on the bus and since I didn't have checked luggage, I could start moving as soon as we arrived. Let's go! Time for some train adventures! Yay!

This is the front view of boarding gate 7 in the domestic departure area of New Chitose Airport. There are a lot of souvenir bento boxes lined up in front of the shop. There are about three standing counters and three tables. You write your order on paper and hand it to the staff. They offer appetizers, and you can order sushi by the piece. There are sets of 5 pieces with a drink, and sets of 6 pieces available in regular, premium, and special grades, with different toppings. There are about 10 types of Hokkaido alcohol available in 300ml bottles for 900 yen. The staff are quick and attentive, serving delicious Hokkaido quality sushi and drinks.

In March 2023, before my flight at New Chitose Airport domestic terminal, I stopped by a sushi restaurant that opened at 8:30 am. The restaurant had a standing counter and only three tables, but surprisingly it was not crowded. They offered a good value set menu, but since I didn't want a lot of food, I ordered individual items. I had a classic beer for 500 yen, although it was served in a plastic cup which was a bit disappointing. The prices were reasonable, starting from 150 yen for my favorite items. I was satisfied with the local seafood choices. My sushi choices were: 300 yen for lean tuna, 150 yen for squid fin, and 250 yen for cherry salmon. The squid fin had a nice texture, and the cherry salmon had a delicate flavor with just the right amount of fat. The rice portion was generous, so I was able to eat lightly. For those in a hurry, they also offered bento boxes to take away. It was a great meal for my journey.

2023 New Chitose Airport Travel Diary Part 7: After passing through the security checkpoint, I found myself near Gate 7. Still craving sushi, I was told there was only about 30 minutes until closing time, but they were able to seat me at a table. I ordered Engawa (flounder fin), Sweet Shrimp, Crab Miso Gunkan, Ikura (salmon roe), and Hotate (scallop) sushi. They were delicious, but I still felt unsatisfied. Perhaps it was because there was no miso soup? When I asked about Hakkaku (eight-sided) sushi, I was told it's named after the white fish with an eight-sided cut. I also tried it, but couldn't quite discern the flavor... it reminded me of cured mackerel. I noticed that they also offer bento boxes, as a few young people ordered them. They seem like a good souvenir option. Overall, this trip was a bit of a letdown. I didn't get to try Zangi, soba noodles, or Genghis Khan (grilled lamb) at all... I headed towards the ANA boarding gate to return to Osaka. On the way, I passed by a sushi restaurant that was full, but luckily a customer was just leaving as I arrived. I managed to get a seat and ordered a Sapporo Classic beer along with a premium sushi assortment (6 pieces for 2,680 yen, I think). The assortment included sea urchin, fatty tuna, shrimp, scallop, salmon, and something else (^◇^;). I also ordered some sake and enjoyed the last taste of Hokkaido before departure. It was great to be able to enjoy one last time before leaving. I highly recommend stopping by this restaurant before leaving. Thank you for the delicious and enjoyable experience!

From Haneda Airport to New Chitose Airport in a flash. Upon arrival at New Chitose Airport, it only takes 30 minutes to return to Haneda Airport. Bought some ramen souvenirs and headed to the ANA Suite Lounge for a cup of tea before boarding time. Can't miss visiting Suzuhana near the usual boarding gate! Asked the staff to serve it in 5 minutes, and they looked surprised (laughs). I had the recommended 4 types of sashimi and a highball. The sardine was rich and delicious. The squid was sweet, and the octopus had a light taste with a perfect balance of fat and sweetness! The flounder was just the right amount of fatty, sweet, and had a chewy texture. Oh, time flew by too quickly. Next time, let's enjoy it for about 30 minutes (laughs). Thank you for the meal.

Returning from Sapporo, it has become a tradition for me to stop by and enjoy some delicious sushi before leaving! The quality is top-notch even at the airport. I even had some sake in the afternoon. I will definitely visit again next time I come. Looking forward to it!

I had sushi during my visit to Sapporo this time. Before leaving Hokkaido, I wanted to taste the blessings of the northern land once again, so I visited. I ordered the chef's choice nigiri. The shop is located at the departure gate of the airport, so the variety is limited, but there are also rare ingredients. It's a perfect place for busy salarymen on business trips.

Visit date 2022.12.17 Today, I'm not traveling for work, but to see my son. Since I don't have a rental car at my destination, of course, I'll have a drink (laughs). I ordered a drink set with beer included. Having a midday drink is so delicious, I wonder why that is (laughs). A couple of weeks ago, I went to a sushi restaurant inside Haneda Airport, and the alcohol went down smoothly. Maybe it was because I had a good time sitting next to Degawa Tetsuro (laughs). Well, of course, it's not enough, so I added some more: Toro sardine, dried fish, spicy Japanese sake 300ml, crab miso, ankimo, Toro sardine, squid ears, shrimp, and squid guts. I'm starting to feel pretty good, but I can hold back (laughs). I have plans to visit two more places in Sendai, so it's time to pay the bill. Thank you as always. Thanks for the meal!

After passing through the security checkpoint, I stopped by to satisfy my hunger. I had always been curious as I passed by, and I found out that they sell seafood bento boxes that can be taken on board the plane, and they also offer sushi for standing and eating. There are only about 5 counter seats, but luckily one was available. I ordered some sake, soup, pickled vegetables, and a few pieces of sushi. The sushi was made very quickly, being in an airport and all. It was quite average in taste, but of course, airport prices, so for about 3 plates for two people, it cost nearly 5000 yen. But well, this is part of the fun of traveling. I don't usually go for standing sushi, so it was a nice start to the trip! Thank you for the meal!

I visited in the morning on a holiday. The location is a corner of the lobby after passing through the security checkpoint at the New Chitose Airport domestic terminal. It is in front of gate 7 on the ANA side, but accessible from the JAL side as well. Inside the store, there are lunch boxes displayed in the front left, with the kitchen in the back. There are standing tables along the kitchen, and two 4-person tables and two 2-person tables on the right. When I told the staff my party size, they directed me to the 4-person table in the front, but since I was eating quickly, I opted for the standing table. I ordered the Chef's Choice 6-piece premium set for 2,580 yen. They brought a rectangular plate since there was no sushi plate available. Today's premium set included fatty tuna, live white fish, button shrimp, raw salmon, raw scallop, and raw sea urchin. They placed pickled ginger and the chef started preparing the sushi. I started with the button shrimp because I had to finish quickly. The vinegared rice was nicely balanced, but it was still a bit too warm. It was better than being completely cold, but... The standout ingredient was the live white fish with its rich flavor. The sea urchin had a subtle taste but was fresh. The quality of the seaweed was also excellent. I only stayed for about 5 minutes. At around 400 yen per piece, it was a good value. The popular drink seemed to be draft beer. Some people were enjoying morning drinks at the tables. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

This is a shop that I always rely on at the end of my travels. I personally love the sushi rice, it's very delicious. I often visit in the evening and at night, and sometimes it can be quite busy. The wait is usually around 15 minutes when it's crowded.
