I was looking for a place to have a seafood bowl for my last meal at New Chitose Airport when I stumbled upon a retro section. Inside, there was Kikuyo Shokudo from Hakodate. The creamy sea urchin was amazing. The price was a bit high, but I thought it was worth it for the quality of sea urchin they served. The staff was very efficient, and I received my meal within about 5 minutes of ordering. Even if you're in a hurry, you don't need to worry.

Enjoy the luxury of Hokkaido at a Hakodate specialty shop! Taste Kikuyo Shokudo Nearest Station: New Chitose Airport Seafood Bowl Situation: You can't leave Hokkaido without trying a seafood bowl, so have it before you leave! They also serve alcohol and small dishes, so you can get a little tipsy before your flight. I wanted to have beer with sashimi after eating, but I had work afterwards and couldn't drink. The restaurant is spacious and the service is quick, so you don't have to rush. Highly recommended! After taking the order, the food came out in just 5 minutes. Isn't that too fast? Highly recommended menu: I had the Four-variety Custom Bowl (2,980 yen)! The base is the original Hakodate Tomoe Bowl (2,780 yen) with sea urchin, salmon roe, and scallops. If you want to add crab or shrimp, you can increase the variety. Personally, I thought the price at the airport was a bit high and the amount of ingredients was a bit low. It's delicious, but I feel like there are more toppings in other areas of Hakodate and Sapporo in Hokkaido! Airport food is expensive, right? Seafood in Hokkaido is delicious no matter where you eat it, so the place and cost performance are important! There are other seafood bowl restaurants, so check them out too! But this one was the most attractive. Overall rating: Return visit: ★★☆☆☆ If you're eating at the airport, I'd like to try something else! Taste: ★★★★☆ Delicious! But I felt the amount of ingredients was a bit low. The rice is also delicious, so it's amazing, but the cost performance is a bit off. China's ban on the import of Japanese seafood, especially scallops, was expected to cause major damage, but what is this...? The portions are thin, small, and scarce. The crab, salmon roe, and sea urchin all reveal white rice as soon as you lift them. It's pathetic. Is this the famous bowl from a store at New Chitose Airport? It's like a bento box from a department store food fair. It's somewhat convenient that everything except the scallops already has seasoning, but it's also annoying. If the Chiridoni bowl is 820 yen, that's fine, but charging 2,980 yen for the 4 varieties of your choice bowl, a staple menu item, is just not right. I also regret forgetting to use the coupon on Tabelog. The way it was written, "one small dish per group as a gift," made me think it wouldn't work for a solo customer, so I gave up.

Arrived at New Chitose Airport and had a few hours until my flight, so decided to have a meal at a recommended restaurant in Hakodate called "Kikuyo Shokudo" with a friend. We ordered the 5-color bowl (uni, ikura, scallop, crab, shrimp), King Salmon Harasu Yaki, grilled hokke, squid shiokara, and uni sashimi. Everything was delicious. The soy sauce-marinated ikura was not too salty, which I liked. The shiokara was also perfectly seasoned. The grilled fish did not need soy sauce and we could taste the freshness of the ingredients directly. I thought it would be crowded on a Sunday, but when we arrived around 5:00 pm, there was no wait and we were seated right away, which was lucky. (By the time we left around 7:30 pm, there were about 10 people waiting in line.) Also, the Yubari melon sour and haskap berry sour were uniquely delicious. When I visit New Chitose Airport again, I will definitely stop by this restaurant!

The sushi restaurant nearby had a long line, so I decided to visit for the first time. The presentation was great in photos, but the actual size of the bowl, quality of the ingredients, and value for money were disappointing. It was not the best start for my first meal in Hokkaido. I'll try to make up for it and do better from tomorrow onwards.

I can't wait until night, so I want to eat seafood at the airport. When that happens, go here. It's located in the back of the third floor dining area. Order the original Hakodate Tsubodome (sea urchin, salmon roe, scallop). The sea urchin and salmon roe already have flavor, so just add soy sauce to the scallops. The best part is not nibbling on it little by little, but devouring it all at once. It feels like you're devouring Hokkaido, and it's gone in an instant. The price is surprisingly reasonable for an airport. Thank you for the meal.

I had the regular Uni Ikura Don. There is a shortage of Uni in Sapporo, so it was nice to be able to enjoy it in the end. I've only had Uni Don in Hokkaido, so I can't really compare, but it had no fishy smell and was rich. The Ikura was omitted since it's not in season, but I love it. It was like the last order of 2015, so I had plenty of time to enjoy it.

The prices vary depending on the number of ingredients in the dish, starting from a 2-item plate to a 5-item plate. Although the prices seemed a bit high for an airport, the ikura (salmon roe) had a delightful texture and was very delicious. The restaurant also provided child seats and allowed baby strollers inside, which was convenient.

Now, it's summer vacation. I have arrived in Hokkaido. I usually eat ramen or sushi at New Chitose Airport, but I have already tried most of the sushi places at the airport and I find that the ones outside the airport are more delicious. So, on this day, I decided to have a seafood bowl. I went to a famous seafood bowl restaurant in Hakodate Morning Market. They offer a "Four-Kind Customizable Bowl" in regular size for 2,980 yen (tax included). You can choose four types of toppings from sea urchin, salmon roe, scallop, crab, shrimp, and salmon flakes. I chose sea urchin, salmon roe, crab, and shrimp. The sea urchin was Murasaki Uni. It may look a bit too gooey for a sushi gunkan, but it was perfect for a seafood bowl. The Murasaki Uni had a creamy texture with a rich flavor, no fishy taste, and it was very delicious! The salmon roe and crab were also delicious, but the standout was the botan shrimp. It had a firm and bouncy texture that didn't fall apart when you bite into it. It was really delicious. By the way, they also offer a mini version of the Four-Kind Bowl for 2,680 yen. There is also a "Child Bowl" where you can freely choose salmon roe, crab, and salmon flakes for 820 yen.

This is a seafood bowl restaurant located in the Market Street dining area on the 3rd floor of the New Chitose Airport domestic terminal building. I visited for an early dinner around 5:00 PM on a weekday. The restaurant mainly has table seating, making it easy for solo diners to enter, and the tables are spacious enough to accommodate large luggage. It is part of the food court, but it operates with a system where customers wait outside the shop until they are guided inside by the staff, rather than self-service. The specialty here is the seafood bowl, where you can choose your favorite combinations such as two-color or three-color bowls. They offer regular and mini sizes of rice, which is convenient. When it comes to Hokkaido, you definitely want to try uni without any additives, right? By the way, in many shops at New Chitose Airport, including this one, a simple uni bowl is market price (lol). I should have mustered the courage to ask for the price before ordering, but I hesitated a bit (lol). Uni and ikura bowl (mini) (2950 yen) comes with miso soup and pickles. The miso soup had a delicious seafood broth. The uni already has the shop's wasabi soy sauce dressing on it, but you can ask to have it removed if you want to enjoy the pure taste of salted uni. *The price of uni has apparently increased, so the amount of uni served may be slightly adjusted. Indeed, there was slightly more ikura than uni on this day. The uni, considering that you rarely get to eat it in mainland Japan, was delicious! It had no fishy smell and was superb. By the way, the uni that day was Bafun uni. I forgot the origin, but the shop displays the origin of the uni daily. The ikura was served with seaweed on the side, and it had a nice popping texture. It might get crowded during lunchtime or peak travel seasons, but if you visit at off-peak hours, you can easily enter and enjoy a meal in a calm environment. Consider adding this seafood option to your list when dining at New Chitose Airport.

The final meal in Hokkaido was a seafood bowl at the airport restaurant in New Chitose Airport, which I had originally tried in Hakodate. Can it dispel the disappointment? The answer is, it is incomparable to the designated restaurant. Without a doubt, the airport restaurant is more delicious. From the shrimp, sea urchin, to the rice, it is satisfying. The price is reasonable as well.

I slipped into the airport to recover the seafood bowl that I forgot to eat during my business trip to Sapporo! After some hesitation, without consulting my wallet, I ordered the original Hakodate Tsubame bowl with sea urchin, scallops, and crab (2780 yen). Despite the notice that sea urchin was being adjusted due to its high price, I ate with a slightly sad sign in sight, but I was satisfied with the taste. I have no regrets about this wonderful trio!

In the morning, I landed at New Chitose Airport and headed straight to the airport restaurant. Even though it was before 11 o'clock, there were already about 10 people lined up. While waiting in line, they gave me the menu, so as soon as I sat down, the bowl was right in front of me! I was so happy~ I always order salmon belly and Matsumae pickles to go with Sapporo draft beer.

Seafood bowl restaurant Kikuyo Shokudo located inside Chitose Airport in Hokkaido. I decided to try it since I was in Hokkaido, but my impression was that there are better places to eat in Osaka. It's nice that miso soup comes with the meal, but in terms of taste, it's just average.

I was lucky that it was not crowded during lunchtime for some reason. I ordered the Ocean Parent and Child Bowl. It was a bowl with salmon flakes and salmon roe, nothing particularly special, but it was delicious. I think it offers better value compared to bowls with sliced fish.

There weren't many options available at New Chitose Airport at 8:00 PM, so I had the grilled red salmon belly set meal for 1720 yen and two beers since I had already eaten a lot of seafood. The salmon could have been a bit bigger, but the taste was not bad. Thank you for the meal.

On July 25th (Tuesday), I had lunch at Ajidokoro Kikuyo Shokudo New Chitose Airport branch. This is a sister store of the famous shop "Kikuyo Shokudo" in Hakodate Asaichi Market, established in 1956. They offer seafood bowls with local Hokkaido ingredients focusing on local production and consumption. I arrived around 11 am and the restaurant was not crowded, so I chose a seat at the back. Gradually, more customers started coming in. I ordered the "Market Price" item on the menu, which was the following: Mini-sized Uni Bowl for 6,050 yen. Today's uni was Ezo Murasaki uni, which is saltwater sea urchin without any additives. The fresh sea urchin melted in my mouth. Saltwater sea urchin is really delicious. The homemade wasabi sauce enhanced the sweetness of the uni. The meal came with miso soup and pickles. Although I was satisfied with the uni, I decided to order one more dish because it was so delicious. I thought about getting another mini bowl, but I didn't think I could eat that much, so I ordered the Grilled Red Salmon Belly for 1,230 yen. It had a rich flavor and was very tasty.

I ordered a sea urchin bowl, but the actual sea urchin I got was not as fresh as it looked in the photo. In the photo, the salmon roe and sea urchin look the same, but in reality, there was less sea urchin. It was disappointing.

At 8:15 pm, check the last order menu on the back side! There was sashimi! I hardly eat rice, so I was shocked to find the sashimi menu after ordering. But the scallops and salmon roe on top were all delicious♡ 2790 yen.

Honestly, summer in Sapporo was hot and I didn't have much appetite. I was looking for a place where I could eat lightly and relax. Finally found a place that fit the bill, with a spacious interior. Today, I had the 4-color rice bowl. It was small as usual, but perfect since I didn't have much appetite. However, it was a bit pricey.

The rice was pressed flat to make it easier to place the seafood on top, but it lacked the fluffy texture.
