I went for lunch. The seasoning of the food was delicious, but as soon as I entered the restaurant, there was a unique smell... It felt like I had walked into an Asian set meal shop... And, maybe it's because of this time of year, but there were small insects flying around, giving off that Asian eatery vibe... haha Well, they do call it a dining hall... The stir-fried squid, shrimp, and hollow heart vegetable were just right in saltiness, and the shrimp and squid were tender and tasty. The other items, like the dumplings, could have used a bit more seasoning. The lunch was also close to 2000 yen, so I wish the restaurant had a bit more cleanliness.

First visit. I made a reservation for a weekend lunch at a nearby restaurant I had been curious about. The food arrived about 15 minutes after ordering. Each dish seemed like creative Chinese cuisine, very intricate. The cooking was meticulous, and the flavors were gentle, making me want to come back again.

"There is a interesting Chinese lunch restaurant," my wife told me. So, we decided to go with our child and made a reservation for the three of us. The place was a bit hidden in Tanimachi, not easily accessible at first glance. The menu is based on ingredients, so once they run out, they are no longer available. It might be challenging if you already have something in mind to eat, but I found it interesting and enjoyable. We ordered "Braised shrimp and tofu Shanghai style," "Stir-fried natural shrimp, chicken, and cashew nuts with vegetables," and "Sweet and sour stir-fried vegetable dumplings." Each lunch came with generous side dishes, making it a great deal. They seem to focus on quality ingredients, and the dishes were simply seasoned, resembling Cantonese cuisine. It was delicious enough to leave us fully satisfied. The location was also nice, so I would like to visit again. Thank you for the meal."

On a hot day, I went to the historical museum in Tanimachi to visit the Japanese sweets exhibition. For lunch, I searched for a Chinese restaurant and Google guided me to a residential area away from the shopping street. I was unsure if there really was a restaurant in such a narrow alley, but then I saw a sign for the restaurant, which looked more like an old Japanese house. The menu only offered set meals, and I chose the seafood stir-fry. It came with various side dishes, all of which were healthy and had a seasoning that was more Southeast Asian than Chinese - maybe closer to Taiwanese cuisine. It's a unique type of Chinese food that I highly recommend.

I finally made it to the Chinese restaurant 261 that I've been wanting to visit. It's really hard to find, though. I ordered the braised pork belly and simmered chicken wings set meal. It was delicious! I had a hard time deciding what to order, but I want to try other dishes next time. It was a bit pricey, around 1700 yen.

I had one of the most gentle and delicious meals I've ever had yesterday. I discovered a hidden gem of a restaurant in my favorite town, Tanimachi Rokuchome, during a leisurely stroll. The place was so hard to find that I was surprised when I finally found it. I dined there quietly and still feel the gentle warmth even a day later. The restaurant only serves a set course menu in the evening and has a maximum of 10 seats for guests, giving it the feeling of staying at a hidden inn with only 3 rooms. When I made a reservation, I was told that the evening course starts at 6000 yen per person, but since my companion had a smaller appetite and preferred to drink, we asked for a slightly reduced course with a volume and price similar to the lunch course. The meal included appetizers (four cold dishes and one warm dish), stir-fried vegetables and chicken, chilled shrimp, squid, and seasonal vegetables, deep-fried conger eel with sweet and savory sauce, vegetable soup over scorched rice, dessert (Gateau au Chocolat and citrus jelly), and lotus or jasmine tea. The food was both delicious and beautifully presented, leaving me in awe of the thoughtfulness and care put into each dish. The appetizers stood out, especially the spicy eggplant and the conger eel, which were my favorites. The vegetables were fresh and crunchy, and the flavors were delicate and well-balanced. The conger eel with the fragrant basil was particularly memorable. The natural wine I had after a Chinta beer was also unique, being completely free of preservatives. It was a rich and flavorful Italian white wine. The overall cuisine was not strictly Chinese or Japanese but rather a vegetable-rich herbal cuisine that left me feeling satisfied and healthy. Each dish was not just delicious but also filled with love and care from the ingredients, the chefs, and the producers. It was a truly heartwarming dining experience that made me want to thank everyone involved. I feel like I have truly understood the saying "cooking with love". Thank you for the emotions, love, and kindness expressed through the food.

Hidden gem Chinese restaurant in a back alley! I found this place near my house on Tabelog when looking for a spot for a Saturday night drinking session with my mom friends. It was so close to my house, but hidden between residential homes in the back alley, and I got lost trying to find it. When I arrived, I saw that the restaurant was operating on the first floor of a house. I think it was because of the influence of COVID-19, as they had the door wide open. Since it was next to a park, various insects managed to get inside, which was a bit of a surprise. They served the food in courses, and checked on our stomachs in between to see how we were doing. The dishes were beautifully presented and delicious from start to finish. However, the downside was that even though I only had about three drinks, the bill ended up being quite high.

Honestly, it seems like Taniroku is not fully living up to its potential. When it comes to lunch, I've been thinking lately that there are more top-notch restaurants in Taniku compared to Tanikyu. I used to overlook this Chinese restaurant, Myrebi, because it's been a while since I last went, but I realized I have to introduce it! Located just north of Sora-bori Shotengai, this area on the east side seems to have many hidden gems that need to be explored, and this is one of them. It's said to be from a well-known restaurant in Kita-Shinchi that even the crying child would be silent, but their concept is unique. Regardless of how it's evaluated... Oh, it's so good! The price may not be for a business lunch, but the quality of ingredients, direction, everything. It's a shame that they're not getting more recognition here. It might be mistaken for a medicinal cuisine, but it's not at all. It's hard to convey its excellence to office workers, but it's definitely worth it. It's inevitable to compare it to Seiran, but I'll say this is for those with expertise. I believe the 1600 yen lunch is well worth it. Those who find it hard to appreciate its value should go to Seiran, while those seeking something more should be directed here (laughs).

The Chinese restaurant Gu6 at 261 for lunch is located quite deep inside and is a hidden gem of a place. I made a reservation just to confirm if they are open on Sundays. They opened right on time, and the interior of the restaurant has a cafe-like atmosphere with only three tables, so it gets full quickly. The menu is handwritten and a bit hard to read due to the beautiful handwriting. I ordered spare ribs with vegetable sauce. It took quite a while for the food to come out. On the tray, there was the main dish, water dumplings, soup (maybe carrot?), finely chopped side dishes, and brown rice. First, the soup, a dish with grated vegetables, seemed to be health-conscious. The main dish, spare ribs, was boiled pork-like, and the vegetable sauce was light, not what you would expect from Chinese cuisine. If you go expecting strong Chinese flavors, you might be a bit disappointed. The restaurant seems to cater to a specific taste, so it could be hit or miss for some people. Thank you for the meal.

I went to buy a little GIFT for a friend's new beginning and had lunch on the way. We had lunch at "Chinese Restaurant 261," which is really tucked away in a residential area. They open at 12:00. There were already customers waiting outside. The restaurant is very small, with only two 4-person tables and one 2-person table, so reservations are a must if you want to go. Luckily, we were seated right away. This restaurant focuses on "natural food," using lots of vegetables to create Chinese dishes that would appeal to women. The popular dish is the "Vegetable Lunch for 1300 yen," but I prefer to eat meat, so I ordered a different menu item. The Vegetable Lunch also looked delicious! The dish I ordered was the "Chili Sauce with Swimming Crab and Tofu for 1500 yen," which included 4 types of appetizers, a new potato and spring onion potage soup, brown rice, and chili sauce with swimming crab and tofu. First, we had the green appetizers. The ginger simmered stalked seaweed was soft and had a hint of seaweed aroma, which was delicious. The black sesame dressing with okra was my first time trying it, and it seemed to be a mix of moroheiya and komatsuna? It seemed good for the body! I also tried the lemon-simmered green beans, which had an interesting sweet flavor, almost like marmalade. The soup was also delicious. It had the umami of seasonal onions and potatoes, with a hint of chicken broth, I think? We enjoyed the natural flavors. The main chili sauce was filled with summer vegetables, swimming crab, and tofu. Summer vegetables like onions, zucchini, okra, eggplant, and bell peppers were finely chopped and stir-fried with swimming crab and tofu in chili sauce, giving it a slightly spicy flavor. There were a lot of crabs and vegetables in the dish, which made me excited! The brown rice was a bit dry, but it didn't bother me much because the main dish had a sauce. Personally, I would have liked it to be a bit more chewy... The dish uses a lot of crab and vegetables, and you can tell that it's made with care, but it might be a bit pricey. If they emphasize more on organic vegetables, gluten-free options, and promote natural food more, it might be more convincing? But it was really delicious.

I had lunch at a Chinese restaurant called 261, located in a shopping street near Yatsu 6 or on the south side of the street, or the east side. It is located deep inside, on the left side of the park road, which is the third road on the north side when you enter from the Yamanote-dori street. I had natural shrimp from Papua New Guinea, squid, clams, stir-fried seasonal vegetables, and added extra vegetables. I also had a fig and walnut cake. It was a delight to enjoy safe and delicious vegetables.

The town of Tanimachi is located on the hilly area of Kamimachi, running north to south. Once you turn off the main road and head inside, you'll find sloping streets extending east to west. There are narrow roads where cars can hardly pass through. When you finally manage to arrive, a sign at the entrance says "Full." Upon inquiring, you're told there will be a long wait. After waiting for a while, a solo diner finishes quickly and offers you their seat. In the small restaurant, you have to be careful. The interior is simple and a bit cramped. The entrance to the restaurant is located down the road from Yanagiro, but the actual entrance is in the opposite direction. Of course, you can enter the restaurant from a different direction by car, but there is no parking space. This time, I ordered lotus root, pumpkin, and taro tempura with sweet and spicy stir-fry. It's a meal with a strong focus on health. They also blend their tea based on Pu-erh tea. The rice is mixed grain rice. I also had a fig cake for an additional 200 yen.

This restaurant was quite popular, I was turned away about 3 or 4 times before finally being able to dine there today. It's a small place with about 10 seats in total. I ordered the "White Fish with Chili Sauce" after some hesitation. The side dishes that came with it were delicious, especially the spicy simmered dried fish and the seaweed salad. The soup with burdock had a nice earthy flavor. The white fish with chili sauce was well-balanced and tasty, with finely chopped vegetables adding great texture and flavor. I ended up finishing everything, including two servings of brown rice. Overall, it was a satisfying meal and I look forward to trying their mapo tofu next time.

Hidden gem! More like a creative cuisine using organic ingredients than a traditional Chinese restaurant! The refreshing feeling after the meal is proof that they don't use chemical seasonings or additives in their ingredients. Thank you for the delicious meal.

This is a Chinese restaurant with a very hidden feel, located in a narrow alley that only people with business there would pass through. The restaurant is housed in an old traditional house, giving it more of a vibe of a cafe rather than a Chinese restaurant. The lunch menu offers only three options: Papua New Guinea natural shrimp in chili sauce for 1400 yen, braised pork belly with fried tofu, daikon, and glass noodles in soy sauce for 1400 yen, and tomato and tofu with seasonal vegetables for 1200 yen. Unfortunately, the vegetable dumplings were already sold out during my visit. I decided to go for the shrimp in chili sauce. The meal came with beet soup, dumplings, two small side dishes, and the main dish of shrimp in chili sauce with various diced vegetables. The shrimp was juicy and delicious, but I wished it had a bit more batter on it. The dumplings and side dishes were also tasty. The beet soup had a gentle flavor, contrary to its appearance. I had a refill of rice and left the restaurant feeling satisfied. Overall, the meal was good, but for 1400 yen, I would have preferred a bit more variety in the dishes.

On a day off for lunch... I unexpectedly met the expectations of MyRebi-sama!!! This time, I tried natural Chinese cuisine at "Chinese Restaurant 261"! Located in a residential area in Tanimachi Rokuchome, I wandered around with my smartphone in hand until I finally found the place with its impressive white walls and wooden fixtures. Inside, there were two sophisticated customers and a nearby Showa era vibe! I was welcomed with a cloth resembling a bean grinding cloth and Chinese tea. I ordered the seasonal vegetable and tofu in fresh tomato chili sauce for 1400 yen. After a short wait, the main dish arrived: seasonal vegetables and tofu in fresh tomato chili sauce. It looked like mapo tofu on the outside, with a nice blend of spicy vegetables, tofu, and tomato. The soup was rich in vegetable flavor, with three types of vegetables: dried radish-like daikon, warabi, and broccoli. The vegetable-filled water dumplings had a rich flavor, almost as if they contained meat. After enjoying a generous portion of brown rice, my detox for the day was complete! Thank you for the delicious meal. Note: When visiting this hidden gem, GPS is a must!

<17.09.18> It has been a long time since I visited this restaurant since it first opened. It's a hidden gem with a mysterious exterior and a name that doesn't give much away. I made a reservation in advance (seems like I did it too early) and when I arrived as scheduled, the chef came out and said, "We are fully booked at the moment, so it will be a bit of a wait." "Oh, I'm from table 261. I made a reservation..." I replied. Eventually, a couple kindly gave up their seats for us. I felt a bit guilty, even though it wasn't my fault. The interior of the restaurant had three tables and ten seats, and the service was as slow-paced as ever. For the Sunday lunch, there were four handwritten menu options: Vegetarian Lunch with Lotus Root, Pumpkin, and Eggplant Tempura and Sweet and Spicy Stir-fry for 1,400 yen; Papua New Guinea Shrimp in Chili Sauce with Vegetables for 1,500 yen; Braised Pork with Fried Tofu, Taro, and Glass Noodles in Soy Sauce for 1,400 yen. You could also add grains coffee, jelly, or cake for an additional 200 yen. I chose the shrimp in chili sauce, which came with rice, corn soup, sautéed water shield and small taro, and water dumplings. It had a gentle and delicious flavor that felt good for the body. I was surprised by how this place has been operating for so many years in such a small and cozy setting. The relaxed atmosphere must be why they have a steady stream of fans. The restaurant is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays (or Tuesdays and Wednesdays if Monday is a holiday). I didn't know about the change in the regular closing days, so I visited on a Monday, which happened to be a holiday, and they were open.
