I used the restaurant after 9 PM. Since it closes at 10 PM, it was not crowded. I had mackerel sushi (recommended by the female owner), sliced tomatoes, fried small sweet potatoes, simmered beef tendon tofu, draft beer, and highball for 4,300 yen. The dishes were all delicious. The beef tendon tofu had a sweet taste from the beef tendon and green onions that soaked into the tofu, making it very tasty. The tomatoes were sweet and delicious, and the fried sweet potatoes were soft and flavorful. Finally, I finished with the female owner's recommended mackerel sushi and left feeling full. I would like to visit again. Thank you for the meal.

We used it with our family♪ Right in the middle of the Gion Festival. We made a reservation two weeks ago. We ordered a lot, but the sashimi and fried chicken were all delicious. Both parents and children were very satisfied. There was plenty of sake, and the landlady was friendly and we had a great time together. It was a satisfaction beyond the price. Thank you for the meal.

I found an izakaya and decided to visit after enjoying some gyoza at a different restaurant. I started off slowly by ordering an assorted sashimi with extra turban shell, which was easily accepted by the staff. The grilled conger eel with plum was a delightful treat. The menu was quite extensive, making it hard to choose. I was recommended the deep-fried onion rings and eggplant dengaku, both of which were delicious. The pairing with Japanese sake was excellent, so I had to share it on social media. The atmosphere wasn't fancy, but the customer service from the staff of various ages was great. I definitely feel like coming back here again.

I went on a regular day. The entrance had a stylish appearance. Inside the restaurant, there were counter seats, table seats, and a raised seating area. The place was packed with customers, showing its popularity. I started with a bottle of Sapporo Red Star beer. The sashimi platter had about 7 types of fish including conger eel, flounder, yellowtail, amberjack, swordfish, medium fatty tuna, and squid. It was perfect for a party. I felt like having some sake, so I ordered that too along with uni and shochu. The staff were busy due to the crowded restaurant, but if you catch them at the right time, you can get a refill. I tried other dishes as well, and everything was delicious. Next time, I want to come alone and enjoy a quiet drink.

The food here is never disappointing. The mother carefully explains the recommendations, and the seafood is exceptionally delicious. It seems they are particular about their ingredients. It's a place where you can enjoy a leisurely meal at the counter. As someone who enjoys drinking, it may not be cheap, but it's worth it.

I was looking for a izakaya where I could enjoy delicious sake, sashimi, and tempura during my trip, and I found this izakaya where the female owner was full of energy and really lively! She casually recommended a sake for me and also told me about the delicious simmered fish of the day, showing that she was attentive and thoughtful. I had a sashimi platter, simmered mackerel, and horse mackerel tempura, and everything was incredibly delicious! They had a variety of drinks including beer, sake, shochu, wine, sour, liqueur, and highball (non-alcoholic options were also available). What surprised me the most was the price - I was expecting it to be around 20,000 yen for two people, but it only came out to 13,000 yen. Definitely give it a try!

We started with a sashimi platter and had a lot of great dishes that paired well with sake. I forgot to take photos because the food was so delicious. The seared pike eel was amazing, we ended up ordering more. We could choose from a variety of sake and the hostess also recommended some for us. It was a fun experience, but it seems like reservations are required so be sure to check in advance!

On a Saturday night, it was lucky to get in without a reservation and the reviews were good, so I felt fortunate. The restaurant recommended fish, with a variety of types including sashimi and different cooking methods. However, the prices were not listed, probably market price, but I believed the fresh ingredients justified it. As a tourist, it was a bit nerve-wracking to order without knowing the cost. The sauce for the boiled conger eel was okay but unique. The tendon tofu was disappointing. The real shock was when only a lively elderly woman seemed to handle the bill, which made the disappointing cost performance stand out against the nice atmosphere of the restaurant.

Weekend business trip to Kyoto. Stayed at a business hotel in Shijo and researched various affordable izakaya restaurants, choosing this one. I thought it would be empty at 6:00 pm on Sunday, but I made a reservation just in case. I was careless... The exterior had a good atmosphere with noren and lanterns. The interior had counter seats, table seats, and private rooms, with a few reserved seats. The friendly proprietress guided us to the counter seats. We ordered beer and appetizers, as well as Hokkaido oysters and beef tendon recommended by the proprietress. We also ordered a sashimi platter. Naturally, I wanted sake, so I had a second toast with Kyoto's local sake, Sawaya Matsumoto. The Sawaya Matsumoto, with its fresh seafood and fruity yet slightly acidic taste, was easy to drink and went well with the dishes. Next, we ordered autumn mackerel sushi, grilled clams, potato salad, and hot sake from Iketsuki to finish. Despite it being Sunday night, the restaurant was quite lively, and the chef in the kitchen was being called "Shin-san" by the customers. I lost track of time due to the great atmosphere, delicious food, and pleasant service. The cost of the dishes was not listed, so some may feel anxious, but this time it was around 14,000 yen including tax for two people. It may be a bit expensive, but personally, I was satisfied. Thank you for the meal.

The assorted sashimi was exquisite. Not only was it fresh, but some of the fish seemed to have been aged a bit, enhancing the flavors. The menu states, "Prices vary to provide delicious food based on market prices," so it may require some courage to order without prices listed. However, the prices are not outrageously high, as you will see when you receive the bill. I was taken to this place by a local colleague during a business trip to Kyoto, and I would definitely like to visit again.

I never imagined that there would be a restaurant where you can enjoy delicious fish dishes right next to the meat-focused Yuzawa. I had a preconceived notion that it was difficult to find good fish in Kyoto city, but I came across a restaurant that disproved that idea. At first, I felt uneasy because there was no menu with prices listed, but it turned out to be a reasonably priced and great value restaurant. Thank you for the delicious meal.

This is my second visit. On this day, we were served a delicious appetizer made with sea bream roe, raising our expectations. There were menus available, but I recommend ordering the daily specials. On this day, we had the option of fresh or grilled oysters from Hokkaido, as well as raw and rare grilled cloud ear, very tender ankimo, sea cucumber, and perfect dishes for sake lovers. The sashimi platter was also left to the chef's choice, including octopus from Akashi with suckers nearly 1.5cm in size, seared and raw saury, and the rare and beautiful sayori fish, among others. Feeling like we hadn't had enough, we also enjoyed yellowtail with daikon radish, and a large homemade grilled kamasu. The owner of the restaurant, who is very friendly and kind, took care of all our orders. The price was a bit high at 4,000 to 8,000 yen per person, especially if you have drinks, but the freshness and quality of the food were top-notch. It's a place you'll want to visit again for a special treat.

The food here is delicious, and everyone is lively and efficient. Despite being almost full, we were served stress-free without having to wait long for our dishes. The mother here is adorable, and I imagine many regular customers come here because of her charming personality. Even the phone service was impressive. As for the taste, everything was almost delicious (potato salad and simmered taro were homely and normal). The sashimi, octopus, squid, and tuna were all fresh and firm, with a sweet and tender texture. The raw oysters were creamy and rich in flavor. I was a bit hesitant to order sea urchin at an izakaya (bad sea urchin can have a fishy smell), so I asked the staff if it smelled of alum, but the sea urchin and salmon roe bowl I ordered was sweet and passed the test. The salt-grilled fish was also delicious and firm. This place is known for its tasty fish, but I couldn't resist ordering the fried chicken, which was flavorful even though I wished it was a bit more tender. And the shirako with ponzu sauce was huge, with a creamy and rich texture that was surprisingly pink instead of white. It was a new and impressive experience for me.

I highly recommend trying the fresh and delicious side dishes here with great cost performance. You must try their eggplant ohitashi - even people who don't like eggplant will love it! The fish is also fresh and will make you want to come back for more!

I've been here many times but always forget to take photos. They have a variety of fresh fish as appetizers to choose from, and everything is delicious. The lady is friendly and kind. This place is a classic favorite for me.

All the sashimi was delicious, but I feel a bit uneasy because the prices were not listed. It's been a while since I visited Kyoto, so I didn't pay much attention and ended up spending a lot of money - about 10,000 yen per person.

It's been a while since I visited. The fish is really delicious. It's fresh, so the texture is firm and crispy. I also had some grilled dishes and I am satisfied.

If you want to eat seasonal seafood in Kyoto, this is the place to go. The recommended dish by the lady who runs the shop, paired with some Japanese sake, will make you happy. The fact that smoking is allowed is a downside, but I still visit every time the season changes. It has a cozy izakaya atmosphere, so it may not be suitable for a calm date setting.
