In Hakata, there are many delicious Japanese sweets, including manju. When you see this sign, you can't help but join the line at the end. While waiting, you think about how many black and white ones to get for yourself and your family. The shiny dorayaki made with a beautiful copper plate is finally ready. Some prefer black, some prefer white, but I like both. The skin and filling are equally delicious. ♡

There was a line next to the Hankyu entrance, so I decided to wait in line. The wait was about 15 minutes. There was an announcement in the 6 o'clock hour that there was only a little bit of white bean paste left. Assuming it was popular, I bought a white bean paste bun for 110 yen. It was freshly made and piping hot, with plenty of filling, and delicious. It seemed like many people were buying in bulk.

Today, for some reason, I was able to purchase without waiting in line. This is the first time this has happened. I chose the white bean paste flavor today. The solid texture of the white bean paste and the delicious honey in the dough make it worth the 110 yen. The white bean paste has a light taste and is easy to eat. The 110 yen Hachimitsu Manju is so good that once you taste it, you won't want to buy anything else. Sometimes I stop by a taiyaki specialty shop instead of a regular pancake shop, but I always end up coming back to Hachimitsu Manju. It was delicious again today!

My partner asked if I had any requests, and I mentioned that I wanted to eat Mineyaku Manju for the first time in a while. They went all the way to Hakata just to get it. You can take the JR train and transfer to the subway to get from Chofukuji to Hakata in about 30 minutes. There is a Fukuoka main store in Nishijin along the way, but they couldn't find it. I had it after returning home, and the black bean paste in Mineyaku Manju is really delicious. I find it just right in sweetness, and I eat it as is without heating it up. It's satisfying with plenty of red bean paste in a thin skin, and one piece is enough for me. And it only costs 110 yen. I recently had some delicious taiyaki, but it costs 200 yen, so in terms of cost performance, Mineyaku Manju is the best. Thank you for the treat.

Famous sweet shop in Fukuoka called "Hachiraku Manju" where you can enjoy delicious treats. The sweetness of honey and generous amount of filling make it irresistible. They offer two types of fillings, white bean paste and black bean paste, but the white bean paste stands out with its sweetness. The price of 100 yen is also a great deal.

It's always crowded, but the turnover is quick so you can buy right away. The price is great at 110 yen including tax. I personally prefer the black bean paste over the white bean paste, as the black bean paste tastes sweeter. However, if you eat black bean paste all the time, you might start craving the white bean paste, which tastes incredibly delicious when you finally try it. I recommend warming it up in the oven at home until it's crispy right after purchasing.

No matter what time you go, there is always a line. You can see them making it. They work so efficiently! This time it's a comparison between black and white. If you were to eat both, it's recommended to eat the white first and then the black. Personally, I feel that the black one has a stronger flavor! Black and white. Both have their own deliciousness. If you keep eating the black one, the white one will taste really good, and vice versa. But if you're trying it for the first time, you can enjoy the chunky red bean paste in the white one, so I recommend the black bean paste. It has honey in it, so it's sweet! But not too sweet! However, for some people, it might be too sweet if you eat two. (I can easily eat two though...) It's slightly bigger than the frozen imagawayaki you can buy. It's much more delicious than the frozen imagawayaki. You can eat it right away when you get it, but it's recommended to bake it in the oven until it's crispy! By doing that, the deliciousness will double, I think.

I have always been a loyal fan of white bean paste. I love the sticky texture and the consistent taste even when it's cold. The white bean paste is always packed full. My goal is to reach the level of Hankyu's Hachimitsu Manju (bee honey bun). I'm sorry, but I bought the last batch of white bean paste. There was a line before and after me. It was in the evening, so there were a lot of people who had just finished work lining up. The taste was consistently delicious. I bought 8 white bean paste buns and 2 black bean paste buns, totaling 10. I think they would make great souvenirs. I received permission to take photos. Thank you for the meal.

I had some time before catching the bus, so I went down to the underground area of the station and saw a place selling taiyaki (fish-shaped cake filled with red bean paste) just before the Hankyu line. Even though the taiyaki at this shop wasn't rotating, I couldn't resist and ended up buying some as souvenirs. It had been a while since I had taiyaki, so I enjoyed it slowly. Thank you for the meal.

When I visit Fukuoka, I always make sure to have at least one! They have delicious treats like kurimanju, imagawayaki, and in Kansai it's known as gozakko, but in Fukuoka, it's called houraku manju. Fukuoka is known for its houraku manju, especially at the Hankyu Hakata store. The taste is unmatched and they don't use any additives. My favorite is the white bean paste from Toroksun - it has a great aroma and just the right amount of sweetness. It's so delicious that it makes my brain happy. You won't find anything else like it. When you visit Fukuoka, be sure to try it out. They sell them in various places. This time, I had two - one with red bean paste and one with Toroksun. Yum!

This is one of the several shops lined up outside the doors of the department store on the 1st basement floor of Hakata Hankyu. The price was raised to 110 yen per piece, but it is still cheap. In Kansai, it is called "gozakuko" or "kaitenyaki", but in Kyushu, it is often referred to as "Houkura Manju". It had plenty of sweet red bean paste inside the thin outer layer, and it was delicious.

This shop is located next to the entrance of Hakata Hankyu underground. The ladies there are skillfully baking one after another. The way they bake is strangely captivating. Fukuoka's famous Hachigaku Manju. It varies depending on the region, but it's called Imagawayaki or Rotating Manju. You can choose between black bean paste and white bean paste here. Nowadays, there are also custard or savory fillings, but here it's either white or black! Easy to decide! This time, I bought one with black bean paste. As shown in the photo, it's filled with plenty of bean paste. Even when you put it in your mouth, you can feel the texture of the beans, and the ample amount of bean paste is truly delightful. The softness of the skin, the texture of the bean paste, the taste, and the aroma of the red beans bring happiness. This is a manju that brings a moment of happiness for 100 yen. I couldn't resist and had it before dinner. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I stopped by Hankyu on my way home from work. At the entrance, they were selling Fukuoka's famous Hachiraku Manju, so I bought the white and black ones. I ate the white one on the train. This time it was the white Sonic. The seat was thick, so it was comfortable to ride. It looks like a taiyaki. Some people call it a dorayaki or imagawayaki. The skin is moist and very thin. So, there was plenty of red bean paste inside. It was a manju that revived my tired body. I wonder if people from Fukuoka call this type of manju Hachiraku Manju?

On the first day of my business trip in Fukuoka on December 7th, I stopped by Hakata Hankyu on my way back and bought some Hachigaku Manju. I enjoyed it at the hotel. Hachigaku Manju Black 100 yen x 2, this is my third time having Hachigaku Manju. It has the highest repeat rate in Fukuoka, alongside Sugar Butter Tree at Hakata Hankyu, which are my top two favorites. And it's still cheap. For just one coin, the quality is unmatched. It can't compete with Ajimanya in Yamagata. The subtle flavor of honey and the modest sweetness make it a delightful treat. I could eat it endlessly. I wonder if the first time I bought it at Iwataya had a stronger impact, with more of a honey flavor? Maybe I should go back to Iwataya to try it again. It was a delicious energy boost for my business trip. Thank you for the meal.

There is a shop called "Hachiraku Manju" in Hakata Hankyu, and about 10 people are lined up outside. I was curious, so I took a look and found out that they were selling a snack similar to "oyaki" from Iwate. It costs 100 yen per piece and comes in two flavors, black bean paste and white bean paste. I tried it and found it to be delicious, with a nice balance of sweetness in the filling and a thin skin. These kinds of snacks are really good after all.

I have memories of eating honey steamed buns at department stores in Kagoshima and Nagasaki. For those who love sweets, this store is irresistible. This time, I got one for a reasonable price of 100 yen including tax. They had both white bean paste and red bean paste, but I chose the red bean paste. Despite being a little worn out from the steam, the honey's rich sweetness was still evident. The combination of the sweet taste and the bean paste with the dough was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I once had the Fukuoka local specialty sweet called Hachigaku Manju at the local department store Iwataya in Fukuoka. It is similar to the large dorayaki in Yamagata, but it has a distinct flavor and taste of honey, making it incredibly delicious and affordable. Upon arriving at a hotel in Fukuoka, I asked the hotel staff about it. The Hachigaku Manju is a well-known local sweet in Fukuoka, so everyone from Fukuoka is familiar with it. The hotel staff confirmed that it is also available at Hakata Hankyu connected to Hakata Station. The next morning, I checked out of the hotel, had a meal and did some shopping around the station building, and before taking the Shinkansen to Yamaguchi for my business trip, I stopped by the store to buy the manju for a tea snack on the train.
- Hachigaku Manju / Black bean paste 100 yen
Compared to the ajiman I'm used to in Yamagata, the skin of the manju has a firmer texture and a well-baked impression. The red bean paste inside is quite delicious. However, I feel like the honey flavor is weaker than before. Perhaps my expectations had increased over time, or maybe they changed the filling since expanding their outlets. Rent in station buildings is high, so tenants like ramen shops in Daiei have to charge more than street shops, and if they can't raise prices, they have to cut costs on the contents and quality. It's a sad reality. Despite various thoughts, I enjoyed it to some extent. Thank you for the meal.

The day before the consecutive holidays, there were more than 10 people waiting in line, and especially the black bean paste was sold out in large quantities at the time of payment, but we were able to receive it in 2 minutes! The taste is consistent across locations like Nishijin, Tenjin Iwataya, Hakata Hankyu, Kumamoto Kamidori, and Tsuruya. Although the main store seems to be in Minamata, Kumamoto, Fukuoka and Kumamoto are both beloved. I haven't been to Kagoshima, but I've heard it's quite popular.

I bought some wagashi (traditional Japanese sweets) at Hakata Hankyu while shopping because I was craving something sweet. I ended up getting white anko (sweet red bean paste). It was stickier than I expected. I ate it with Japanese tea. It had a nostalgic taste of traditional anko. By the way, it seems that children and women prefer white anko, while men prefer black anko.
